It was a hidden hot spring.

It was an Accommodation on the mountainside of Mt. Hakkoda, almost like a mountain lodge. As such, the Facility showed some age, but it also had a charming sense of history. The Onsen was excellent. The meals were just the right portion for seniors. The Shuttle Service from Shin-Aomori was a great help. On the way back, you also stopped by Sukayu Onsen—thank you very much. The night sky full of stars was wonderful as well.

The Onsen is truly moving, but operating the Accommodation presents major challenges.

The water quality is excellent, and the Onsen itself exceeded my expectations. I would rate highly only the healing effect of the hot spring and the atmosphere of a secluded Onsen. However, to be honest, aside from the Onsen, I did not feel this Accommodation offered value for money. As an Accommodation, both the meals and service were very disappointing and not commensurate with the price. Both dinner and breakfast were lacking in quality and substance, far below what I would expect at this price point. I would not recommend it to those who look forward to meals at an Onsen Accommodation. I understand that sound carries in an old wooden building, but it was disappointing that there was no effort from the Accommodation—such as warnings or posted notices—regarding guests being noisy in their Room late at night or loud noises during midnight/early morning hours. “The building is old” and “failing to provide a quiet stay as an Accommodation” are separate issues. Consideration for guests who come to a secluded Onsen seeking rest is insufficient. At present, it felt like they are being supported by inbound demand (when I stayed, about 90% of guests were international visitors), but they seem to be relying on that while neglecting basic guest satisfaction. The Onsen is truly wonderful, which makes the rough operation all the more regrettable. If it were No Meals Included and in an annex building, it might still be an option—but given this experience, I will not return.

    Can’t wait to come back!

The Facilities may be a bit old, but it was a cozy Onsen Accommodation where you can feel how carefully everything has been maintained and used with care. I’d love to stay again! Enjoying the view of Ten while eating a hearty meal. Thank you very much. Please say hello to Shima-chan, too!

    Truly a great Onsen!!

I had visited the onsen several times for day trips and always wanted to stay overnight. Finally, I was able to stay this time. As expected, the onsen here is amazing! The simple sulfur spring, naturally flowing from the ground, with its milky white water offers both lukewarm and hot baths, making it so relaxing that you could soak in it forever. Since there’s no air conditioning, I wondered if it would be too hot when temperatures exceed 30°C. However, a fan was more than sufficient. Being sensitive to insects, I worried about horseflies flying around but didn’t see any during my stay. The room was clean and well-maintained; since I chose a room with a private toilet, it was quiet and comfortable for relaxation—a truly healing experience. As a sake lover, I also enjoyed some Dassai sake... absolutely delicious! This time was a solo trip; next time I’d like to visit with my husband. Thank you very much!

    I really like this Onsen.

This is my second stay. I became captivated by the onsen here during my first visit, leading to a return within a year. The building shows its age, and I wasn't expecting much in terms of amenities or services, which were decent enough. However, the room was clean and satisfactory. The onsen with two baths—one warm and one lukewarm—is incredibly relaxing. During this stay in mid-April, the lukewarm bath (Reisen) in the women's section felt colder than before, making it slightly chilly and difficult to stay in for long. This might have been due to the surrounding temperature at that time. On the other hand, during hotter seasons, cooler water might feel more refreshing!

My long-cherished wish has come true.

Yachi Onsen, one of Japan's three secret hot springs. I was finally able to visit. The shuttle service from JR Hachinohe Station, about an hour and a half through the snow, was very helpful. Alternating baths between the 38-degree Reisen Shita-no-Yu and the 42-degree Kami-no-Yu. It felt effective for my back pain, and it was the best water to soak in for a long time. The facility is old, and you can hear footsteps and voices in the corridors, but that adds to the charm. The cold water was delicious and refreshing. The meals were delicious, and the staff provided friendly service. Thank you for taking us to the famous Hasshoku Center on the return shuttle service.

    Truly a hidden hot spring!

The room key was broken and other facilities were not perfect, but in the heavy snow of this remote mountain area, I thought the small number of staff worked very hard, from shuttle service to reception, phone response, cleaning, and meals. I appreciate the proper greetings and warm hospitality. The availability of Wi-Fi was also helpful. The Onsen is perfect. It is truly a hidden hot spring, mystical, fantastic, and enchanting. I felt grateful to be Japanese. I hope Yachi Onsen continues forever. I will visit again. Thank you for taking care of us this time.

    It was a wonderful bath.

The men's bath, "Shita no Yu," was truly a blissful bath where you could soak for hours on end. I even saw some people half asleep, soaking for a long time... Recently, I've been trying not to take long baths as I've gotten older, but in that bath, I could probably soak for 1 to 2 hours. I would love to visit during the snowy season as well.

I was able to drink Taisyu.

At the front desk, I was given directions to my room, and I followed them, but I was troubled to find a sign along the way that said men were not allowed. The bath was not as hot as I expected, and I was able to relax in the milky white water, which relieved my fatigue and left me satisfied. For dinner, although it wasn't on the menu, I requested a rare sake from outside the prefecture, "Denshu," and was able to try it for the first time, which made me very satisfied. The scenery and the atmosphere of the inn were also great, making the visit worthwhile.

I was soothed by the gentle hot springs and delicious meals.

The hot springs were wonderful, with both the lukewarm and warm baths being so comfortable that I ended up spending the longest time and taking the most dips in the hot springs I've ever had during a stay. Both dinner and breakfast were not flashy but were full of flavor and very delicious, with just the right amount, making them perfect meals for a hot spring cure. I especially enjoyed the char and the local rice. I would love to come back to soak in these hot springs again.
