    It was great.

    The Room was clean, and the bed was spacious, which was great. Meals are served buffet-style, with a wide variety of dishes and good taste.

    A highly popular Onsen Facility!

    I was surprised by how crowded it was—it’s clearly very popular. The food was delicious, and the bath was fantastic!

    The meals were absolutely delicious.

    The breakfast and dinner buffet were very delicious. I ate too much. The Room was fine, but next time I would like to pay a little more and stay in a Room with a separate bath and toilet. I would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Satisfied with the Onsen and meals, but the in-house environment and guidance system need improvement.

    Overall, it was a highly satisfying stay. 　The Onsen in particular was excellent. With many types of open-air baths and a spacious bathing area overall, I was able to relax comfortably even during busy times. Being able to bathe while enjoying the scenery of Higashiyama Onsen made for a wonderful experience. 　Meals were buffet-style, and there was a wide variety of dishes. I also appreciated that entry times were staggered, which helped prevent excessive crowding despite it being during Golden Week. 　In addition, the restaurant staff were extremely courteous. I was especially impressed by a young female staff member who, after clearing the neighboring table, checked around the area once more and properly collected and cleaned cutlery that had fallen on the floor—it showed great attention to detail. 　On the other hand, there were some disappointing points. 　I noticed a slightly musty smell throughout the building. The Room itself was clean and well maintained, but an odor likely from the air conditioning or the building itself bothered me. That said, this may vary from person to person. 　Another issue was staffing allocation. Perhaps because it was Golden Week peak season, it felt like staff were concentrated on parking and front desk operations; even for quick questions—such as how to leave your key or requesting a taxi—I had to line up in the long front desk queue every time. 　In the end I arranged a taxi myself, but I feel there is room for improvement in guest flow and guidance for staying guests. The on-site staff worked very hard, so this seemed less like an individual issue and more like an operational staffing/structure challenge. 　Even so, I was very satisfied with both the Onsen and meals, and this is an Accommodation I would consider again when visiting Aizuwakamatsu.

    Is it my fault for choosing this place?

    A textbook example of “cheap but poor quality.” The list of issues is endless. I don’t understand why the Reviews are good. Before promoting it on TV, I’d like Orix to improve the actual service and facilities.

    The bath was wonderful.

    After deciding to stay in Higashiyama Onsen, I chose Toho based on Reviews. The deciding factor was the excellent bathing facilities. Both the indoor bath and open-air bath were spacious, and the open-air bath in particular was arranged like terraced fields on a mountainside, offering a panoramic view of the city. At night, the stars were beautiful—I was truly impressed. The buffet also featured many dishes made with local ingredients and was delicious. One disappointment was that there wasn’t much space beside the bed, which made getting in and out of bed inconvenient. When I visit Aizuwakamatsu again, I would like to stay here again.

    This is my regular Accommodation when I return to Aizu.

    We often stay here when visiting Aizu to see my husband’s family. Among the many small Accommodations in the area, Toho really stands out. We always look forward to the buffet meals. This time, perhaps due to the unusually sharp rise in prices, we felt the quality of items like meat and sushi had declined. Honestly, the desserts were the best part. We also thought the breakfast buffet was better overall. We know these are very challenging times, but we hope you can do your best to maintain quality.

    Large Hotel

    This is a large Ryokan, often hosting Asian tour groups and many families (including three-generation stays). The meals offer a full selection of Aizuwakamatsu local specialties such as kozuyu, ika ninjin, sauce katsudon, and Kitakata ramen, which is very satisfying. The soft-serve ice cream and pudding made with Beko milk have a rich, smooth texture and are truly delicious. This level of quality for a buffet is impressive. At night during the alcohol hour in the lounge, guests crowded around the small table where the drinks were placed, which felt unsafe. As it is first-come, first-served, I felt it could be improved. There were some snacks as well, but it wasn’t particularly relaxing, so I returned to my Room soon after. The location is good, and overall I felt this Hotel offers especially high satisfaction with its dining.

    A lively, large-scale Onsen Ryokan

    This Onsen Ryokan has been revitalized by ORIX. The Facility was clean, and with a sufficient number of staff, the service was attentive. It felt like a large company was running it in a stable manner. Since it was during spring break, there were many families and the property had a lively atmosphere. The Onsen was constantly extremely crowded and, unfortunately, not comfortable. Because it is chlorinated recirculated water, it doesn’t seem to be aimed at enjoying the “Higashiyama Onsen” hot-spring experience. If you think of it as more like going to a busy weekend public bathhouse, you may have no complaints. The dinner buffet offered great variety with no items running out, and it felt like excellent value for money. The fact that there is no alcohol sold at the on-site shop may be for maintaining order; for families, I think that’s reassuring. Many of the other guests were Japanese families, and it was also nice that there wasn’t congestion or confusion caused by inbound tourists.

    Excellent value for money.

    Stayed with my family of three, including a child about to start elementary school, as a base for a Tadami Line trip. We were given a corner Room in the Tower Wing; it wasn’t on a high floor, but it was spacious and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were both buffet-style. The selection wasn’t very large, but the Japanese dishes—especially the white rice—were generally delicious and recommended. Perhaps because the road is nearby, only the restaurant floor vibrated slightly (at first I thought it was an earthquake). The futon mattress was thin (Aizu style?), and my lower back hurt the next morning. The Hotel felt clean and spacious in both the common areas and the Room. All staff were kind and efficient. For a weekday stay, the price is reasonable and offers excellent value for money. If it isn’t crowded, you can enjoy great views from the open-air bath and relax comfortably. I wish checkout were at 11:00. I’d like to stay again when visiting Aizuwakamatsu.

    Best value for money and top-notch service

    Given the Room size, the cleanliness of the Facility, the buffet cuisine, and the bath amenities at this level, this pricing is a testament to your hard work. I honestly worry whether it’s really okay to offer it at this price. As someone who travels almost every month both in Japan and abroad, this is without a doubt top-tier among Accommodations with a buffet. The desserts in particular were incredibly delicious! We ate until we were full with Aizu’s local specialty kozuyu, Kitakata ramen, and more. Since it’s a popular Accommodation, it was understandable that refills sometimes couldn’t keep up. My mother—who is usually very picky about Accommodations—also praised it highly and said one night isn’t enough; she definitely wants to return. With labor costs and prices rising these days, I truly admire your commitment to continuing to provide such service. Thank you very much. We’ll be back!

    During this stay, I was extremely satisfied with everything, including the Onsen, dinner, souvenir shop, and welcome drink. The view from the Onsen was also excellent.

    Expectations might have been a bit too high. It is a large Hotel suitable for families. It may be ideal for those with small children. Overall, it is average. We recommend not raising expectations too much based on photos. There’s nothing particularly bad about it either.

    Year-end use

    This was our second stay, the first being during Obon. This time, we stayed on a weekday just before the end of the year when our child’s winter break started. Perhaps because of this timing, it was reasonably priced and not too crowded, which was great. The meals had slightly changed but were delicious and satisfying. However, one issue we encountered was that the Room felt a bit old. Unfortunately, while walking barefoot near the sliding door frame at the entrance of the Room, I got a splinter due to a chipped part. It would be appreciated if maintenance could be done to prevent injuries for future guests, especially children.

    Highly satisfying!

    Highly satisfying experience. If you use the points directly without saving, it's about 10,000 yen per person! The Room was assigned randomly and had a slight tobacco smell, but it wasn't bothersome. The Facility was clean, and the bath was spacious. The tiered bath offers an infinity-like feel and a sense of openness. The buffet lived up to its reputation with a variety of options that left us full. Despite being crowded, they brought beer quickly. Although the weather wasn't great, it turned out to be a wonderful trip. Thank you very much!

    Highly Satisfied

    This time, the Plan did not allow room selection, but I was able to change to a non-smoking Room as I dislike the smell of tobacco, and I had a comfortable stay. Recently, there has been an increase in places where all Rooms are non-smoking after renovations. I believe having all Rooms non-smoking offers various benefits. The meals were diverse and delicious, though it was a bit disappointing that there weren't many fruits. The bath was at the perfect temperature and very relaxing. The facility was clean throughout. I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

    It depends on the weather.

    I saw the TV commercial and couldn't resist making a Reservation. The footage of the open-air bath in the sky was so impactful that I eagerly anticipated my visit. However, when I entered, it was so foggy (morning mist?) that visibility was less than 1 meter, and I couldn't see any scenery from the bath. Since the baths switch between men and women daily, at least I could enjoy a clear view with good weather on the previous night's visit. Still, my high expectations led to great disappointment, resulting in a lower evaluation.

    We had a great time.

    This was my first stay. As mentioned in the reviews, both the buffet meals and desserts were incredibly delicious. Although it was a weekday, I was surprised by the number of people. However, with three elevators available, I never had to share one with others, and the hallways were very quiet. The bath area was spacious with a great view, but I did notice a strong chlorine smell in the morning which slightly concerned me. Overall, I was very satisfied and thoroughly enjoyed Aizuwakamatsu. The staff were also very pleasant, and I would love to visit again.

    For your child's birthday

    It was my first visit. The Room was clean and had a standard feel. However, since I knew there wouldn’t be a view, I kept the curtains closed as the sight of Facilities brought me back to reality. Both dinner and breakfast were buffets, which was perfect for us with small children! The staff greeted us with wonderful smiles and provided excellent service.

    Delicious meals

    I stayed in a smoking-permitted room in the main building. I wanted to open the window for ventilation, but unfortunately, there were a large number of stink bugs and ladybugs, and there was no screen door. Six of us, ranging from our 30s to 80s, stayed and were all very satisfied with the meals provided in the morning and evening. I would love to stay again.

    I had a comfortable stay.

    Thank you for the wonderful stay. Everything was comfortable and enjoyable. The buffet included unique Aizu dishes, and I ended up eating too much! Although the changing room before the bath was a bit crowded, I could relax and enjoy the onsen. The room had a great view overlooking Aizuwakamatsu, creating unforgettable memories. One small issue... it was slightly stressful that calls to the accommodation were not easily connected directly. Still, choosing Onyado Toho was absolutely the right decision. Thank you very much!

    Improvements are needed for the gift shop.

    Overall, I was satisfied with my stay, but the service from the gift shop staff was very disappointing. I noticed that the price displayed for a souvenir differed (it was higher) at checkout. When I asked the staff about it, they simply said, "The display is incorrect," without offering an apology and proceeded with the transaction as it was. I request improvements in both correcting errors in the gift shop and staff response.

    I had a great vacation. Positive points: The bath was spacious, clean, and at the perfect temperature. The front desk service was prompt. Points of concern: The toilets inside and outside the room were very narrow. The food was delicious, but it would have been even better if it had been kept warm.     The Tower Building has air conditioning precautions.

    This was my second stay. The meals and baths were absolutely impressive and highly satisfying. However, it was very disappointing that the Tower building windows cannot be opened, and the air conditioning only provides warm air. In the Main building, windows can be opened for ventilation if it gets hot, but in the Tower building, this is not possible, so I borrowed a fan from the front desk. Even after warming up in the bath and returning to my Room, it felt humid and I ended up sweating again. I understand that improving structural aspects may be difficult, but I strongly hope for some innovative solutions to address this issue.

    The staff at the front desk and those who greeted us during check-in were all very pleasant and welcoming. The room was renovated and very clean, but the unit bath and toilet felt quite cramped. The open-air bath was spacious and comfortable. However, the changing area was a bit small, so guests had to take turns while changing. Additionally, the basket provided for carrying items to the bath was too small to fit a bath towel, face towel, and change of clothes, which caused some inconvenience. The meals featured local ingredients and traditional dishes with a wide variety of options, which we enjoyed. However, it would be even better if measures were taken to keep the dishes warm. The recommended pudding and soft serve ice cream were absolutely delicious! Also, the stewed dried cod dish was incredibly tasty—definitely a must-try for other guests! We would love to stay here again!

    Various issues present.

    Dinner Buffet: Many dishes were out of stock, and several items couldn't be tried even once. Due to the time limit, we had to settle for less popular dishes. It felt overly crowded, like a packed golf course. The restaurant staff seemed extremely busy and lacked smiles. The bath facilities were nice, but the changing area was overwhelmingly crowded! Given our high expectations, this experience was disappointing and not one we'd repeat.
