A Trip to Celebrate a 77th Birthday
On my trip to celebrate my 77th birthday, the Accommodation made a celebratory cake for us, and my husband and I enjoyed it in our Room. My husband also loves beer, and he was very happy that there was non-alcoholic beer (All-Free). The meals were delicious, and the staff were kind, making it a memorable trip.

The Room layout is inconvenient and not at a level that could be considered a special room.
Based on the photos at the time of booking, it looked as if the Japanese-style Room and the bedroom with beds were directly next to each other, separated into two spaces with smooth access between them, which seemed convenient. However, upon entering, the entrance area was spacious but dimly lit, and the Japanese-style Room and bedroom were split left and right across that dark entrance. The hallway to the toilet was also dark, creaked loudly when walking, and there were two toilets (one Japanese-style and one Western-style). Beyond that were the washbasin area and bath. We expected it to be somewhat old, but it felt even more dated than anticipated; my wife said she felt uncomfortable going to the toilet at night because of the creaking hallway. Also, during dinner, dishes in the course were served far too quickly. The additional steak we ordered was already noticeably cold when it arrived, and by the time we ate it, it was so cold that even the sauce had not blended—making ordering steak pointless. We did not feel any effort to match guests’ pace at all, which was disappointing. If two serving staff cannot manage timing properly on their own, I believe it is essential for someone in charge—even if we only saw her briefly at reception—to come by during service as well and coordinate with or instruct the kitchen while observing guests. In addition, management of what is included in common areas such as the lobby and dining venue was poor. In the lobby there were only a single type of snack (Umaibo), which is an unacceptably low level of management for a Ryokan service. The Tsugaru shamisen performance also ended after about three songs in the lobby; there was no announcement of what time it would start at all, so only about two or three groups happened to be listening and there was little sense of atmosphere. Even for an independently run Ryokan, without a better overall service-management structure I do not feel this would lead to repeat visits. We were able to relax somewhat, but I do not think we would choose to stay again. I truly hope improvements will be made in a positive way; therefore I have left these rather strict comments regarding both this special Room as well as meals and service.

You can relax and unwind.
At check-in, there was only one staff member, so I wondered if something was going on and whether everything was okay, but we received warm and attentive hospitality. We enjoyed rare local dishes such as salted grilled coho salmon and soba bean sprouts (absolutely delicious), and also tried painting kokeshi dolls while listening to a live Tsugaru shamisen performance (a wonderful souvenir), which let us fully experience the spirit of Aomori. The Onsen was at just the right temperature (slightly hot), warmed us through, and relieved our fatigue. It was all-inclusive, and we were able to enjoy plenty of drinks as well. Thank you very much.

It was very relaxing.
Upon entering the front desk, there is an all-inclusive corner where you can enjoy alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, and snacks. The bath is spacious and relaxing, and dinner features local cuisine while being all-inclusive as well. After dinner, visiting the lobby offers enjoyable activities such as painting kokeshi dolls using tools or listening to the owner play the Tsugaru shamisen. This is an accommodation I would love to visit again.

A hot spring hotel surrounded by white snow.
Surrounded by beautiful white snow! The rooms are very spacious! The family-friendly hot spring hotel has only a dozen rooms! On the first day of our stay, there were only six rooms occupied, making breakfast very comfortable! On the second day, only two rooms were occupied, making it even more relaxing! All drinks, including beer, sake, and apple juice, are unlimited! The meal portions seem small, but they are very filling!
