    It was even better than the photos.

    I found this place while looking for somewhere to stay with a view of Mt. Kaimon. Because I have a shrimp allergy, I can’t eat spiny lobster, but they kindly accommodated me and served other delicious dishes instead. I believe the course meal for my husband, who can eat shrimp, used about 3–4 spiny lobsters. The Room was larger than it looked in the photos and more than spacious enough to enjoy the view of Mt. Kaimon. You can see it from various spots throughout the building, and I was very satisfied. Many of the attendants were older Japanese staff members, which gave the place a warm, comforting atmosphere. They also explained the islands and mountains visible from our Room. Since we wanted to relax and enjoy the food slowly with drinks, we would have appreciated it if they could have waited a bit longer between serving each dish. Also, women could choose their yukata and obi sash, but I felt that tying that type of obi might be difficult for those who aren’t used to wearing one. Highly recommended for spiny lobster lovers and Mt. Kaimon lovers.

    The courteous servic...

    The courteous service left a great impression. Although the building itself is old, the Room has been renovated, and I was able to spend time in a comfortable space. The downside was the bath. This may have been partly due to the low number of guests, but it felt very cold inside. Also, I was looking forward to the tea bath, but the added hot water was too lukewarm, so it was disappointing that I couldn’t stay in for long.

    Your First Trip to Kagoshima

    This was my first trip to Kagoshima in 65 years of life, and on a 2-night, 3-day journey I booked the first night at this Ryokan. I chose it with high expectations because of the name “Iseebi-so.” The meal I was looking forward to most—the spiny lobster course—was delicious. Since we used the Kagoshima discount, we were able to stay at a better price than expected. Paying just under 30,000 yen for two people is more than fair, but if you want a stronger sense of satisfaction, you may want to order additional dishes. I love spiny lobster sashimi, but the portion was small. The bath is not an Onsen, so it’s mainly for enjoying the view. It’s far from Kagoshima City and the airport, so renting a car is recommended; using public transportation would likely make for a tight schedule. The Room and Facility show their age, but the service was good. If you’re considering staying here, you’ll probably be expecting spiny lobster dishes as well—so if your budget allows, it may be worth discussing with the Ryokan when making your Reservation whether to upgrade your Plan or add extra orders of spiny lobster or other seafood. We were satisfied for the Accommodation Fee, though in hindsight we think we should have ordered extra dishes to fully enjoy the spiny lobster.

    The staff provide co...

    The staff provide courteous and kind service. The bath and in-room amenities are well stocked. As it was midwinter, a warming gel pack had been placed inside the bedding, and we appreciated the thoughtful touch of a cozy, warm futon. The Room air conditioner kept us plenty warm, and a fan heater was also provided as a backup to further heat the room if needed. The meals were excellent in both taste and portion size. We were able to fully enjoy spiny lobster until we were completely satisfied. Overall, it is a wonderful Accommodation with an elegant atmosphere.

    At the Edge of Minamikyushu City

    Unable to find accommodation in the Ibusuki area, we discovered this place on the map and decided to stay. We initially thought it might be an old ryokan and didn’t have high expectations, but we were completely proven wrong. The building may indeed be old, but it is so well-maintained that you hardly notice. The room with a view of Kaimon was absolutely fantastic. The staff's hospitality was incredibly pleasant, and you can tell they are well-trained. And above all, the meals! While the lobster feast at dinner was delicious, what truly impressed us was breakfast. The vegetables were fresh and crisp, the salmon juicy, and the rice glossy and perfect. It was both luxurious yet comforting with a nostalgic touch—absolutely delightful! If we’re ever in the area again, we would love to visit once more!

    Kagoshima Trip

    Ise Ebi-so, a place I've been curious about for a long time. The scenery is truly healing. The beauty of Mt. Kaimon is breathtaking. I’m really glad I came here. The room was spacious with a great view, which was wonderful. Being able to enjoy a shochu tasting was also a nice touch. We chose the best course for the meal, and while it was excellent, I think one more lobster dish would have made it perfect! That said, the sashimi, grilled dishes, and steamed dishes were all delicious. The lobster miso soup was absolutely exquisite as well. Since the last order is at 7:00 PM, I recommend arriving early for dinner. The large public bath is honestly average in terms of facilities; however, they use ReFa shampoo treatments and hair dryers along with various types of body soap that will surely delight female guests. There’s no elevator in the accommodation, so if you have difficulty walking or climbing stairs, requesting a first-floor room would be ideal. Overall, this accommodation offers stunning views that are unforgettable—especially those of Mt. Kaimon! Although it's far away and not easy to visit often, this experience will stay with me forever. Lastly but importantly—the staff were very kind and accommodating!

    Iseebi Inn, true to its name.

    I couldn't forget the meal I had over 40 years ago, so this is my second stay after visiting two years ago. This time, I swam a bit at Maehara Beach before coming. The usual cuisine is highly satisfying. I enjoyed the local shochu and had a wonderful time.

    Silver Couple Accommodation

    Please note that there is no elevator in the accommodation. The room was on the second floor, but the large public bath was on basement level 2, which was a bit inconvenient. The tea bath I had been looking forward to was empty and unavailable. Room wear is limited to yukata only. Dinner was very delicious and highly satisfying. The room was a ReFa Room, equipped with ReFa shower heads, hair care tools, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash—all of which I thoroughly enjoyed. All staff members were pleasant and made my stay comfortable. I would like to visit again while my legs are still strong enough!

    First Trip to Kyushu

    I stayed for one night on my first trip to Kyushu. It was a Hotel with warm service and attentive staff. I was very pleased that they kindly accommodated my request for an additional mattress due to my back pain. The meal was delightful, with fresh lobster that was incredibly delicious, and the beautiful scenery, such as the sunrise from Mt. Kaimondake, was refreshing. I also enjoyed the various types of shochu in the Room, which made for a very good memory. I am truly grateful. Thank you for everything.

    Ise lobster, the best.

    I wanted to experience a sand bath at Ibusuki Onsen, so I searched for a place to stay and found Ise Ebiso, where I could eat spiny lobster, and made a reservation. The location offered a spectacular view of Mt. Kaimon over the sea from the room. Although the bath was not an onsen, there was a large public bath with salt scrubs and ReFa shower heads, which was nice. Additionally, the Ise Ebi Ryugu Kaiseki meal was excellent. I wanted to eat a lot of fresh spiny lobster, so I requested to change to one sashimi per person. It was my first time experiencing the crunchy texture that reveals the fibrous nature of the spiny lobster, and both the sashimi, boiled, and miso soup were exquisite, leaving me very satisfied.

    A nostalgic Stays where you can relax

    Stays had a calm and somewhat nostalgic feel, and the view of Kaimondake from the room was spectacular. The meals were all delicious, with the raw Ise lobster being plump and the Ise lobster miso soup having a rich broth, it was excellent. The staff at the shop were lively and gave us energy. We were able to relax in the bath as well. There was a luxurious Refa hairdryer and trial bath salts, which were very nice. In the morning, I took a walk around the area, and the sea spread out in front of me with a pleasant breeze, which was truly healing. I was more satisfied here than at a five-star hotel in Tokyo. Thank you for the opportunity to have a memorable stay. I hope to return someday.

    The view from the room and the meals are excellent.

    It was the first time I had so many iseebi, and they were delicious. We also enjoyed fresh hirame sashimi. Since we stayed with four people, we had the largest Japanese-style room. We were impressed by the stunning view of Kaimondake. However, the layout was somewhat inconvenient, as you had to step down and then up again to reach the toilet, the washbasin was narrow and old, there was no bath, and therefore no hairdryer. There was no elevator in the building, and the stairs to the large public bath were quite challenging for older guests. The futons were laid out from the beginning, making the room feel a bit like it was for school trip students.

    Quite disappointing in various aspects.

    ①About the Room: I'm not sure if it was an issue with the IKYU site or the property's policy, but the actual room was quite different from the images posted. I reserved a Japanese-Western style room (32 square meters), but the "Western-style" room in the photos was actually just a small "veranda" with wooden flooring. It only had enough depth to barely fit a small pair of sofas. If I had looked at the photos more carefully, I might have understood this in advance, but I was careless. Additionally, the overall space of the room was long and narrow, making it feel smaller than the stated 32 square meters, and it wasn't very comfortable. ②About the Service: During the check-in explanation of the facilities, they served Chiran tea, but I was disappointed when they suddenly said, "This is Chiran tea, it's very delicious, and it's sold at the shop inside." Meanwhile, someone else was supposed to be bringing my luggage to the room, but when I actually entered the room, there was nothing there. The property staff seemed to notice immediately and hurriedly brought it to me (from another room?). I'm not sure if my luggage was taken to a different room or if the room I was shown was different from the one I reserved, but it made me feel quite uneasy. ③About the Meals: The lobster dishes were delightful and delicious. ④View from the Room: The view of Mount Kaimon was beautiful and majestic. (It seems there are rooms not facing the sea, so I can't speak for those.) ⑤Bath: It was disappointing that there was no open-air bath. If I have the opportunity to visit the area again, I think I will try staying at a different property.
