Great value for money.
The Facility and amenities are a bit dated, but the Room was thoroughly cleaned. The staff at the shop and during meals were very helpful. The large public bath was also spacious and clean. For this price with two meals included, it’s a great value.

Traveling with Your Dog
We stayed for two nights with our dog during the Golden Week holidays in May. The Room is a spacious Western-style room, and it was nice to have a table and two chairs. The Facility has a strong retro Showa-era feel, but it seemed clean. The staff are mostly experienced, providing consistently reliable service. Dinner was satisfying: on the first night, the highlights were a seafood rice bowl and snow crab; on the second night, grilled beef short ribs and hairy crab were the main dishes. The bath was just like the photos on the website—spacious and open, which we really enjoyed. There are no amenities for dogs at all, but we were very happy to be able to stay with our dog. Lake Towada is also within walking distance, making this a great location. We’d love to stay again in a different season.

Your Dog’s Birthday and Your Wedding Anniversary
I used this place for an anniversary trip. The Room was fairly nice and felt clean, but! The in-house guide file was sticky. It was unpleasantly gross. Dinner was just as the Review said, so I didn’t expect much— it was okay. Since I can’t eat a lot, it was fine that it felt a bit light. The bath was disappointing because we couldn’t use the open-air bath, and there weren’t many types of baths either. Breakfast seemed pre-made and just reheated, but the egg was cold—you should warm it up more! The male staff member at the front desk wasn’t friendly at all and felt very businesslike; I thought, “Oh, I’m one of those Review people.” He didn’t seem like someone in customer service and gave me a slightly unpleasant impression. Other staff were kind and pleasant, which was good. Places where you can stay with your dog are valuable, so please keep working hard.

Traditional Onsen Ho...
Traditional Onsen Hotel. The hotel's atmosphere is poor, and the service is not very good. There are insects in the room, which is quite frightening. Dinner was average, but there was nothing edible for breakfast. The location is decent.

Lack of sleep
Requested a Room on an upper floor with a nice view, but was given a Room on the 3rd floor with no view. The refrigerator's temperature control knob was broken. The front desk offered to store items in their fridge, but it was too far from the Room, so we gave up. The Room was full of insects—on the walls, around lights, and on the floor. We caught about 15 and informed the front desk. They only brought insect spray to the Room, so we had to deal with it ourselves. It was uncomfortable and difficult to sleep. Very disappointing experience.

Affordable and Comfortable Accommodation for a Summer Stay at Lake Towada
Close to the Towada Lake bus stop, this accommodation offers a comfortable stay at a very reasonable price during the peak Obon holiday season. It features a spacious Onsen bathhouse with an excellent open-air bath. While the facility has a nostalgic Showa-era feel, it adds to its charm. The staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days as a base for visiting Towada Lake and Oirase Stream. Despite being at an altitude of 400 meters, thanks to the lake, it’s pleasantly cool—a perfect summer retreat! Blessed with good weather, we were captivated by the beauty of Towada Lake shining under the sun amidst lush greenery and amazed by the star-filled night sky. Exploring Oirase Gorge was another highlight; we took an early morning bus from Towada Lake and walked over 10 kilometers through scenic sections filled with breathtaking views that felt like stepping into calendar photos—never dull for even a moment! Traveling from Tokyo takes about six and a half hours one way via Shinkansen and JR Tohoku buses, so we highly recommend opting for a 2-night, 3-day plan.

The hot spring was excellent.
It was a large Ryokan with a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere. The lobby, souvenir corner, and hall were spacious and decorated with ornaments that kept it visually interesting. The facilities are old but well-maintained and clean, so there was no discomfort. We chose a breakfast-only plan, and the breakfast was quite satisfying. The corridors leading to the bath and breakfast venue had points of interest that made the walk enjoyable. I felt this facility paid great attention to detail. The staff were polite and kind. It turned out to be a very pleasant trip. One concern was seeing someone moving around inside with their pet dog not in a cage. Since my children have allergies, I would appreciate some clear boundaries for guests with pets. I wasn’t aware it was pet-friendly when making the reservation; knowing this in advance would have been helpful, which left me feeling slightly disappointed.

A Nostalgic Large Facility
I was looking for accommodation to explore Oirase and chose this place as an affordable option near Lake Towada. Although I expected it to be crowded due to being fully booked, the facility was very spacious, so it didn’t bother me. The large bath and the waterfall were impressive. Since the group guests arrived late at night after Nebuta festivities, both dinner and the bath were rather quiet. The shop had a great selection, from ice cream to traditional crafts. The experienced staff worked efficiently, leaving a good impression. As mentioned in reviews, it’s old but comfortable. Thank you for your hospitality!

I was surprised by this price!
We travel more than 10 times a year, both domestically and internationally, staying at various accommodations ranging from high-end hotels and ryokans to budget business hotels and guesthouses. Understanding that budget accommodations come with certain expectations, we honestly did not have high hopes this time either. Heading from Hirosaki to Lake Towada, after passing the Prin Hotel and driving for a while, we were greeted by beautiful scenery. Ahead of us was an accommodation with a charming gate and a spacious parking lot. Wait! Is this really the accommodation we booked? ( ? _ ? ) Upon entering, the lobby featured a large Nebuta ornament and many adorable kokeshi dolls—so lovely! The staff at the front desk welcomed us warmly with gentle hospitality. The room we were shown to had some signs of age but was more spacious and cleaner than what we had seen in the reservation photos. There was also a large public bath where we could relax comfortably. As night fell, I found myself wondering why such an excellent accommodation could be so affordable. In the morning, I enjoyed another relaxing soak in the public bath before heading to breakfast—a buffet with various options that left me completely satisfied until our departure. Thank you very much for such an enjoyable stay!

A bit old, but both the Room and the large public bath are spacious and satisfying.
I recently stayed at an Onsen accommodation that seemed ideal for group travel. The large public bath was spacious and pleasant, and the room was also roomy with blue tatami mats that left a good impression. Although it allowed pets, I was concerned about pet hair, but both the room and lobby were impressively clean. Some parts of the facility showed signs of aging, but considering its affordable pricing, it felt like a good overall experience. However, while the toilet had a bidet function, I wished they would upgrade from central air conditioning to individual air conditioners. The current system only offered three settings—low, high, or off—and even on low it felt quite cold at times.

Hospitality
A couple in their 70s stayed for a Multiple Night Stay. In the Room's refrigerator, we found something unexpected—ice cream? It seemed to be left behind by the previous guest, and it appeared to have been missed during cleaning. We decided not to worry about it and left it as is. As for dinner, we arrived at the venue 10 minutes early for our 6 PM reservation. About a dozen staff members greeted us with a polite "Welcome" in unison, which made us feel slightly overwhelmed. During our meal, around ten staff members stood in line watching us eat—it felt like we were being monitored, which was a bit uncomfortable and tense. We understand this level of attention might be an effort to ensure everything goes smoothly, but it came across as overly formal. On the positive side, many of the staff were older adults around our age, and their energy was quite inspiring!

The Kiritanpo hot po...
The Kiritanpo hot pot and Michinoku set meal with half a crab were delicious. It would have been easier to eat if cuts were made in the crab claws. The breakfast with side dishes and salmon was also delicious. The Onsen was very nice. However, the bedding was hard, so I slept with two layers. Some items were torn, so I would have appreciated more attention to detail.
