    The meals are outstanding!

    This was my first visit to Kamikochi and my first stay overnight. The location is excellent—just 30 seconds from Kappa Bridge—and the building is very clean throughout. The dinner and breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, and we were very satisfied. Neither my companion nor I drink alcohol, but there was a great selection of non-alcoholic drinks as well as craft beer. We toasted with a Shine Muscat sparkling drink. There is no TV in the Room, which encouraged us to go to bed early and fully enjoy our stay surrounded by nature. If the weather is good, you can also enjoy the starry sky.

    Excellent location.

    It’s truly a 30-second walk from Kappa Bridge. There’s no view from the Room, but early in the morning, the Hotaka Range and Mt. Yake seen from Kappa Bridge were beautiful. Using this place as a base, we were able to fully enjoy Kamikochi. The Room is clean but very simple. The meals were quite elaborate, but for older guests, being served an appropriate portion at the table feels more relaxing than eating a lot buffet-style.

    Absolutely amazing!

    It was my first time in Kamikochi. This Hotel, located very close to Kappa Bridge, was excellent. Being able to store our luggage was a big help. Every staff member was pleasant and welcoming. I was thrilled to see the starry sky at night! The wood-fire cuisine was as delicious as its reputation. I’d love to visit again. Thank you for your hospitality.

    Both the interior an...

    Both the interior and exterior were clean and well maintained. The staff were also very kind and helpful. However, it was disappointing that the bathroom and Room were small, the amenities were limited, and the meals lacked impact. The coffee cups were too small and difficult to use. Overall, I felt it was not worth the price paid.

    The meals were excellent.

    I don’t usually write a Review, but the food was truly delicious and I was so satisfied that I wanted to leave a note of thanks. Both breakfast and dinner were of a quality you wouldn’t expect from a buffet. There were a few minor points—drinks were a bit pricey, and the entrance layout of the Room was slightly inconvenient (you have to put on slippers to get to the sink or toilet)—but the wonderful meals more than made up for them. The staff were also pleasant and welcoming, and the location was very convenient, right next to Kappabashi Bridge. I know these are challenging times with labor shortages and rising prices, but I would be happy if you could maintain this level of quality. I would definitely like to visit again someday.

    Stay on the final day of the season

    This is our third stay at this accommodation. The building is well-maintained, and the buffet featuring seasonal ingredients is absolutely delicious. The star-filled night sky viewed from Kappa Bridge in mid-November became an unforgettable memory. We have already made reservations for September and November 2026. For us as a couple, this has become a place we look forward to visiting every year. We are excited to see new and different scenery each time we visit. We look forward to next year as well!

    A very lovely accommodation.

    I stayed in the MUKU2 Room. It was a simple and very comfortable room with a view of the Azusa River from the window. The staff provided courteous service, and their stylish uniforms were impressive. The meals were as delicious as reputed, making my first visit to Kamikochi a truly memorable experience.

    Cozy Mountain Accommodation

    Located very close to Kappa Bridge with excellent access from the bus terminal. The interior and guest rooms are simple yet tasteful, offering a very comfortable mountain accommodation. The buffet-style meals feature plenty of local ingredients and are truly delicious. Enjoying the wonderful food helped relieve the fatigue from trekking. The staff's thoughtful hospitality made for a pleasant stay. I look forward to visiting again next year!

    Highly Satisfied

    The Room is small due to the location, but it was clean and comfortable. Since there was no air conditioning, I slept with the window open and woke up to the sound of bear bells from early risers. Thanks to that, I didn’t miss the morning mist. The staff were kind, and the food was incredibly delicious! Depending on the weather, it’s convenient to take the flashlight and bear bell provided in your Room for stargazing near Kappa Bridge. I’d love to visit again!

    Enjoy your trip to Kamikochi to the fullest.

    Since my family visit to Kamikochi during my elementary school days, I decided to stay overnight this time instead of a day trip for a more relaxed experience. After much consideration, I chose this accommodation and was very satisfied! The place is very clean, and the meals included dishes I don’t usually eat, so I ended up overeating! Although I knew there was no bath in the room, it was slightly inconvenient but not enough to be a downside. Early in the morning, we walked from Taisho Pond to Kappa Bridge and around 8:30 AM they kindly stored our luggage while we continued exploring Myojin Pond. Overall, it was a wonderful summer vacation! We even saw monkeys from our room window!

    The location is excellent. It's convenient to take a casual walk to Kappa Bridge or Dakesawa Marsh with the sunrise. The meals are all delicious, no matter what you choose! The craft beer was also very tasty. I look forward to visiting again in a different season. Thank you very much!

    The meals and staff were excellent.

    Upon arrival, my companion fell ill and we had to visit a clinic right away, but thank you for your kind support during this time. It was our first time in Kamikochi, and the cozy, nostalgic atmosphere made our stay very pleasant. The meals were delicious, and we truly enjoyed our time here. Kamikochi during its best season is absolutely stunning—cool and simply perfect! We look forward to returning again next year.

    Everything was perfect!

    The meals were absolutely delicious! Everything was so tasty that I ended up overeating, yet I still wanted more. Completely satisfied! The staff were excellent, and the room and bath were impeccably clean, simple, and stylish. I will definitely stay here whenever I visit Kamikochi. It’s such a wonderful accommodation that I can’t help but recommend it to my friends.

    The meals are delicious.

    This was my first time staying here. Both the dinner and breakfast were buffet-style and absolutely delicious! In the evening, you can enjoy craft beer, and the wood-fired grilled meat was exceptional! I would love to stay here again. Thank you very much!

    Thoughtful Service Before Check-in

    Due to the unfortunate rain, we entered early and were served warm ginger drinks while waiting to check in. It was heartwarming and made us appreciate the excellent hospitality once again. If I may mention one thing, we stayed in a Room on the north side of the 1st floor, but at night, there was a low mechanical noise—possibly from a boiler—that disturbed my companion's sleep. Even turning off the heater did not stop the noise; it might be an issue with the location of the Room. As it was a rainy trip, we hope to visit again in spring or autumn. Thank you very much!

    Early June, 1 night and 2 days, fully satisfied with the meals and the Room!

    Amazing location! The crystal-clear water of the Azusa River, the sound of the stream, birdsong, and the fresh forest air... everything was perfect. Above all, the view from the Room window and dining area was like a painting. This time I visited in early summer, but I would love to come back in another season. The breakfast and dinner buffets were all delicious, especially the wood-fired dishes—the meat was excellent, and even vegetables tasted incredibly flavorful. This trip was a spontaneous solo journey, but next time I plan to visit with family or friends.

    Right in front of Kappa Bridge. Exceptional dining experience.

    This time, we stayed in the most affordable room, which was simple yet sufficient. The location is outstanding, right at the foot of Kappa Bridge, the iconic symbol of Kamikochi. The pricing is much more reasonable compared to other accommodations. The natural spring bath was perfect for soothing our tired feet after a long walk. And above all, the buffet at an altitude of 1,500 meters! Delicious. Beautiful. Enjoyable. The sense of style rivals that of renowned hotels in Tokyo! For 2,500 yen all-you-can-drink, there’s a wide variety including local beer and cider. Just be cautious as high altitudes can make you feel tipsy faster... Making miso soup for breakfast was also fun. The staff were very kind and attentive throughout our stay—thank you! We’ll definitely visit again. On a side note, we felt a bit nostalgic seeing the old wooden sign from when it was called Gosenjaku Lodge.

    The location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from the bus terminal. Right in front of Kappa Bridge, stepping outside reveals breathtaking views of Azusa River, Hotaka Mountain Range, and Mount Yake—truly the essence of Kamikochi. Although the room was listed as 14 square meters and I expected it to be small, it was not cramped at all due to efficient use of space and was very comfortable. The bath had a pleasantly mild temperature, allowing for a relaxing soak. The meals were exceptional both in the morning and evening, with slight variations that made them enjoyable even during a Multiple Night Stay. All staff members were energetic and friendly; their hospitality was outstanding. The front desk staff always greeted us with smiles, making our stay truly relaxing. It would have been more convenient if we could use the restaurant in room wear or if the bath hours (15:00–21:00) were extended slightly longer with an option for morning baths as well. Staying here greatly contributed to my wonderful memories of Kamikochi—thank you so much!

    There were various experiences.

    The Room was new and clean. However, there was no TV, and since the weather was bad, the evening felt a bit dull. I expected to have char fish for the meal, but it wasn't served, which was disappointing. At checkout, I was charged for beer I didn't drink. It turned out to be a mistake with another Room's bill, and I received a refund eventually.

    One night, two days in mid-October during the autumn foliage season.

    I stayed for one night and two days on a weekday. It was close to the bus terminal and right in front of Kappabashi, making morning and evening walks convenient. Since the Hotel is not very large, the buffet did not have an overwhelming number of dishes, but everything was very delicious. (I couldn't try everything) The all-you-can-drink option includes many local beers, so it's recommended for beer lovers during dinner. The nature guide from the affiliated Five Senses was also very informative. It was my first time in Kamikochi, so the guide's explanations were very helpful. This time it was the autumn foliage season, so I would like to visit in early spring next time.

    Kappa Bridge and Azusa River from the window, amazing.

    I have visited Kamikochi many times for mountaineering and trekking. Following last year, I stayed at Park Lodge Kamikochi again. It's wonderful to leisurely view Kappa Bridge, Azusa River, and the trees from the room window. The scenery seen through the many windows of the restaurant is especially like a painting. In the early morning, it's exciting to see many people with big backpacks walking with smiles towards Mount Hotaka and Karasawa Cirque! The Gosenjaku Hotel was also very nice, but Park Lodge is the best. I would like to use it every year, so thank you in advance.

    Almost satisfied

    The location and meals were very satisfying. The front desk staff at check-in spoke very quickly and did not smile. When I asked about the shuttle bus, the explanation was unkind. The screen door in the room was so dusty that I couldn't see the view, and there were a few hairs on the tatami mat, which made me feel that the cleaning was not thorough.
