    Unfortunately, it was disappointing at the end.

    Based on the site Reviews, we arrived with high expectations. Upon arrival, two staff members carried our luggage from the car and brought it to our room. I was impressed by how the front desk staff at check-in, the staff who guided us to our room, and the dinner and shop staff all served guests with genuine care. The day before, a guide told us that there would be a tour group from Taiwan at breakfast the next morning and recommended coming between 8:00 and 9:00. When we went as advised, it seemed our family was the last group of guests. There were only scraps of scrambled eggs left around the edges, there was no milk, and when we asked a Japanese staff member—who appeared to be in charge and was wearing a light blue kimono—to refill items, they visibly looked displeased. In addition, by 8:30 the onigiri station had been removed, and soon after that even the rice equipment was taken away—perhaps for cleaning or because they did not want their own staff meal rice to run out—so we could no longer eat rice. If guests are informed that breakfast is available until 9:00, then it is only natural in hospitality to ensure everything is properly available until 9:00. As someone who also works in customer service, I found it embarrassing if this was done simply because they wanted to clean up early or eat their staff meal sooner. It was especially disappointing because other staff members had been serving guests so thoughtfully; this kind of response at the end ruined everything. I felt truly disappointed and saddened.

    Staff and Facilities

    At check-in, a staff member came outside to greet me with an umbrella, and I felt it was a pleasant place. However, at check-out, a male front desk staff member told me it was fine to stay in the Room until 10:30, so I was relaxing for a bit when another female front desk staff member called the Room and told me to leave immediately. I didn’t catch their names, but it was unpleasant that different staff members said different things. The way it was said also felt somewhat rude. Regarding the Facility, there was a smoking area on the 2nd-floor guest Room level, but the air purifier right outside the smoking area did not seem to be operating properly. As soon as I stepped out of my Room, the cigarette smell was very unpleasant. I would like you to reconsider where the smoking area is located. Alternatively, if these are non-smoking Rooms, I would prefer that non-smoking Rooms be placed on a floor without a smoking area. It didn’t feel worth the price. The restaurant staff and housekeeping staff were friendly and wonderful.

    We enjoyed a delicious dinner.

    The Room had a great layout, especially the spacious, easy-to-use closet. The sofa by the window was also roomy and very comfortable, making the stay truly relaxing. Also, the “Tamatebako” in the dinner menu was carefully prepared item by item. We enjoyed it in order from the appetizer to the vinegared dishes, and everything was delicious. I especially loved the clam dobin-mushi. The eel kamameshi was tasty, but I would have liked a bit more eel. Thank you for your hospitality.

    A Highly Satisfying Trip

    After looking for a highly rated place where we could enjoy sightseeing and the Onsen without using a car, we chose Meisansou—and it was absolutely the right choice. Throughout the Accommodation, you can feel their hospitality in so many ways, and the buffet offered plenty of delicious dishes, including local specialties and live-kitchen items with original seasoning. The view from the restaurant was wonderful, so I’m glad we went to the buffet early. The Onsen is spacious and the open-air bath is relaxing as well, but there’s no view. The healthy tea in the post-bath lounge was a nice touch. Since we stayed on a weekday, it was even better value for money. Overall, it’s an Accommodation that makes you want to come back again and again.

    Guests gather in light attire to enjoy the lingering summer heat.

    The room is new, clean, and designed for convenience, with a natural wood scent. Large windows facing east, west, and south offer a refreshing view overlooking Mikawa Bay. The room's bath is a spacious unit bath with fun features; you can soak up to your shoulders if you bend your legs. Meals are served as a kaiseki course with classic main dish options—consistently delicious. Local sake is highly recommended. I stayed during the Mitani Festival. From the accommodation's south-facing rooms or parking lot, you can enjoy prime views of floats entering the shallow sandy beach below and progressing about 300 meters into the shallow waters of the sea. Hundreds of spectators gather to watch this event. The south-facing rooms and parking area provide excellent vantage points for viewing the float procession. A shuttle bus also stops right in front of the accommodation. If you descend about three floors' worth of stairs to reach the beach, you'll get an up-close view of this dynamic festival!

    We had a wonderful trip.

    We were looking for accommodation nearby for a short trip as a couple and decided to make a reservation at Meisansou, which offers an onsen and a crab buffet at an affordable price. Congratulations on your 70th anniversary. The hotel's facility felt slightly aged, but it was well-cleaned, and the room had ample space in the restroom and entrance area, making our stay very comfortable. The dinner buffet not only featured the crab legs we were looking forward to but also all the dishes were delicious. In addition to sashimi and Japanese cuisine, I personally enjoyed the beef stew very much. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, including freshly made rice balls with three filling choices prepared on the spot—this was fantastic. The onsen was not crowded during our visit, allowing us to relax fully. The complimentary service of offering various types of tea after bathing was unique and delightful; we hope this continues in the future. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Breakfast

    Breakfast time ended, and I had to eat quickly. The staff started cleaning up without flexibility. It would have been nice if they had said, "Please take your time since you came all the way here." Disappointing.

    It was amazing!!

    I’m so glad I came here. I visited with my sister, and we had such a wonderful day. The Room was incredibly clean…!!! I was so happy to stay in such a lovely Room at this price! The meals and the bath were amazing!! We chose the buffet, and everything was truly delicious. There were hot pots, sashimi, and more—it was incredible! The hot pot had large scallops that were fantastic. Being able to enjoy shrimp as well made me so happy. The bath experience was also great; in the morning, they switched the men’s and women’s baths, so I could enjoy both during my stay—at night and again in the morning! It truly is a wonderful place. Both of us thought we’d love to come back again, so we definitely will!

    I had a great time.

    Great location with a relaxing ocean view from the window. The bath was pleasant, and the breakfast was delicious, making for a very satisfying stay. However, it would be appreciated if some improvements could be made to the Facility. The window lock did not close properly, causing noisy rattling sounds due to the wind. Additionally, at night, the smaller public bath was designated as the women's bath, but there were not enough washing stations available, leading to a surprising queue. Please also fix the handle on the door of the open-air bath.

    I stayed at this accommodation after being recommended by a seasoned traveler on X. As mentioned in the title, please read with the understanding that this is an accommodation striving to keep prices exceptionally low. Upon arrival, the exterior of the accommodation had a slightly aged concrete appearance, which initially made me feel a bit uneasy. However, once inside, it was clean and well-maintained, and the staff greeted me with warm smiles. After completing a polite check-in process, I entered my room—a nostalgic Japanese-style room that was impeccably clean. On the table were two origami cranes (likely handmade by staff) placed alongside some sweets. Nowadays, many accommodations feel either overly systematic (e.g., no tea trays and futons already laid out) or just clean but lacking character (like being at home). This kind of thoughtful human touch truly enhanced my sense of being on a trip. The bath facilities were spotless as well. The large public bath was spacious enough to enjoy soaking luxuriously with plenty of hot water available. The open-air bath wasn’t one for enjoying scenic views but rather for savoring fresh outdoor air—and it exceeded expectations compared to typical promotional photos; it was much better in person! It’s such a hidden gem—I hope they promote it more so others can experience it too! Oh, there’s also a small service offered after bathing. Now about the meals: I originally found this place while searching for all-you-can-eat crab options based on recommendations from X users. Given its affordable price point as stated in their title description, I didn’t have high expectations—but let me say—it was incredible! Starting with sashimi: beautifully cut slices of sea bream and yellowtail with perfect texture filled me up almost to bursting point! As for crab dishes—they were generously served without needing any requests for refills; attentive staff ensured plates were replenished promptly whenever portions ran low! Having tried buffets at numerous accommodations before—this ranks among my top 1-2 experiences ever! Other dishes also stood out significantly compared to standard buffet fare—everything felt homemade and high-quality—including items like large clam cream croquettes bursting with flavor! I regret not taking more photos (tears). However—the breakfast buffet resembled typical ryokan-style Japanese-Western offerings. Ah—I’m running out of space here (sweat)—but please understand how truly captivating this place is beyond words!

    Enjoyable Reunion

    We enjoyed a reunion with seven university friends, checking in from 3 PM and staying until 10 AM the next day. Time flew by as we enjoyed the Onsen, meals, and karaoke. We talked, ate, and sang a lot. As we age, we tend to stay home more often, but spending time like this with close friends outside of home feels rejuvenating. Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience!

    The facility is old.

    The Facility is old but has been renovated. Special rooms appear to be clean, while standard rooms felt dated. The buffet was enjoyable and satisfying. However, the lack of amenities like coffee in the guest room and an outdated hairdryer made it feel significantly inferior to other Hotels in certain details.

    Room assignment at our discretion can be a trap.

    Based on the reviews and high ratings indicating that it had been renovated, I imagined a certain level of property and made a reservation for my mother and aunt who lives near the hotel. However, the room was terribly run-down. The hallway to the onsen also seemed like an abandoned haunted house. While standard rooms may have been renovated, if there is such a significant difference with the "omakase" room, I would have liked more information about the risk of ending up in that type of room. If you are making a reservation, please be cautious with the "omakase" plan.

    Onsen Hotel with a Wonderful View

    The view from the Room is wonderful. The sashimi at the dinner buffet was very delicious. I also enjoyed the wide variety of tea after bathing. All the staff were pleasant. I thought it would be nice to have simple rice balls with options like kelp and plum for breakfast.

    A room with a sense of openness and comfort.

    The recently renovated Room features brand new Ryukyu tatami mats, and the furniture and fittings are undamaged and clean. In addition to the large south-facing window, there are also windows on the east and west sides, offering an excellent view of the sea and a great sense of openness. The design is user-friendly with a bath, washbasin, toilet, closet, etc. The large unit bath fills up quickly with water but does not have a reheating function. It is conveniently located near the elevator and close to private dining rooms, making it ideal for seclusion. Dinner in your private room consists of reliable standard dishes. You can see the ever-changing sunrise sky from the eastern window. Breakfast is served in the same private room as well.

    Unchanging Points, Changing Points, and Diversity

    The town was lively with the festival, but there was no inconvenience in accessing the Stays. The room offers a view of Mikawa Bay and is comfortable. We were touched by the foreign room attendant's earnest guidance. Dinner was consistently delicious gourmet food. We look forward to the standard menu, part of which can be selected from a monthly changing course. There are several distinctive rooms, each offering its own way to enjoy them. It is a vibrant Property where improvements seem to be gradually progressing somewhere within the facility.

    Very satisfied with the meal!

    We stayed at the resort Aomi UMI with four friends. The room was new and comfortable. However, it was very disappointing that there were no samue-style indoor clothes provided instead of yukata. We use onsen properties several times a year, and there are usually samue-style indoor clothes available, which are more relaxing. Both breakfast and dinner were very satisfying for all the companions. The large public bath was very crowded on the day of our stay, and we had to wait for a washing area, making us feel that although the space was sufficient, there were not enough individual washing areas.

    It wasn't extremely cheap, so I had various expectations, but it was disappointing. I've stayed at many hotels before, but this was the first time I was given a room tour right after arriving in the room, even before greetings. There were unnecessary explanations about the location of the refrigerator and safe, and how the bath works, which was a waste of time. You can understand by looking. The room seemed to be clean and tidy, but I've never seen a bath filter cleaning notification light and an air conditioner filter cleaning notification light on in other properties. It was not a property worth the price, so it was disappointing. Also, there were many foreign employees, but the sense of distance was different from Japanese people, so I was concerned about various things. They would ask if it's okay to choose a certain main dish, and I didn't want them to touch my child without permission, so I hope they provide employee training. The food was generally delicious, and I felt that the menu was well thought out. If the head chef and kitchen staff weren't skilled, I would have been disheartened during the multiple night stay. The food, including the ingredients and seasoning, was delicious.

    An empty buffet venue

    At the dinner buffet venue, there were no staff or chefs, and only cold tempura and cold beef were available, which made me feel sad. I also made a reservation for a "Room with a Reason," but the tatami was stained, the toilet floor creaked, and the room lighting was dim. What does "Room with a Reason" mean...? I regretted not asking for the reason before making the reservation.

    Very satisfied with my elderly mother.

    This was my first time using the service. The staff were very kind, and my elderly mother and I had a pleasant stay. The Facility was spotless everywhere, and the Room was more spacious and luxurious than I had imagined from the photos, allowing us to enjoy an extraordinary time. Although we couldn't drive, we were picked up at the station on the day of arrival. The next day, we planned to go to Takeshima, and it was very convenient as there was a Meitetsu bus stop in front of the Hotel, allowing us to reach Takeshima in no time. Even after returning home, I heard words of joy from my mother, for which I am grateful.

    We are very satisfied with the food.

    This was my first time using the Property, and I was surprised by the spaciousness of the Room, which was beyond my imagination. I was able to enjoy a relaxing and luxurious time with a view of the sea from the Room. Although I woke up in the middle of the night due to the strong wind rattling the windows, I think it's the fate of a Room on the window side. The large public bath was also spacious, and I was able to enjoy multiple types of baths without any inconvenience at the washing area. And above all, the meals were wonderful. The dishes made with local ingredients were very delicious. At first, I was worried if I could finish everything, but I ended up eating it all. The presentation was beautiful, and the taste was just right, not too strong, and every dish was delicious. I was also impressed by the deliciousness of the rice I had for breakfast and ended up finishing the rice in the container. Next time, I would like to visit during the season when I can go mandarin picking. Thank you very much.

    Considering the cost, this property ranks as the first or second best so far. The welcome and guidance were both thorough. The meals were satisfying in both quantity and quality.
