    It was great.

    We visited as a couple during the Obon holiday week. What we liked 1. The food was delicious. The homemade bread—especially the baguette—was excellent, and we had seconds until we were completely full. 2. The Onsen bath was small, but very relaxing. Having free-flowing hot spring water felt like a luxury. 3. Our name was printed on the dinner menu, and there was also a name tag on the shoe locker lid—thoughtful attention to detail. What we’d be happy if you could consider 1. The background music during dinner was fairly old Japanese J-pop (e.g., Yuming, Itsuwa Mayumi) and played quite loudly. If the volume were turned down a bit, the song selection would be fine for us. 2. The duvet cover came off easily, and the duvet ended up falling onto the floor, which woke us up because we got cold—this happened to both of us. Once it comes off, hygiene is also a concern. This was our first time staying at an auberge, and it made us want to visit auberges again in the future (including other places).

    We had a wonderful Golden Week.

    While looking for an Accommodation with free-flowing Onsen water, I found this place and made a last-minute Reservation. When I arrived, it was far more wonderful than the photos. I stayed in the annex, and having a private space with an Onsen I could enjoy anytime was truly relaxing. Every dish had a gentle, comforting flavor. The portions were more than enough for us, and the wine selection was excellent. The staff were warm and attentive without being overbearing. It was a luxurious stay, but an Accommodation filled with just the right amount of thoughtful hospitality. I’d love to make it my go-to place to return to.

    Thank you for your warm hospitality once again. As always, the dinner was a delightful array of dishes, each prepared to perfection, leaving us completely satisfied. The Japanese-style breakfast was also exceptional. Thank you very much. We look forward to visiting again.

    Green Breeze with Panoramic Bath in Tateshina

    An open-air bath with a panoramic view to the west, overlooking mountain ridges and lush green forests. The spacious stone-tiled tub, large enough for a family, is bordered with wooden edges. The washing area features wooden flooring and glass walls that can be fully opened on two sides. Part of the ceiling is also made of glass. With double-glazed windows, it remains comfortably warm even in winter. The bath has an abundant supply of hot water at a higher temperature, flowing continuously 24/7. You can adjust the temperature by adding cold water as needed. This bath alone makes the long drive worthwhile every time. After bathing, enjoy a refreshing beer from the refrigerator—it’s truly delightful! Freshly prepared dishes are brought directly from the main building one at a time for your meal. Allergy accommodations are well taken care of here. While I found this visit's main dish not quite to my taste (just my personal preference), everything else was excellent!

    I wanted to photograph the Rengetsu azaleas, but unfortunately, it was heavy rain and fog. However, Tsutsuji and Kaede warmly welcomed me as always, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. I had a relaxing stay and gained the energy to work hard again. Thank you very much. I look forward to visiting again in summer!

    Onsen Accommodation in Tateshina

    I didn't know it was an Onsen accommodation, but the meals were very delicious and plentiful, and I finally managed to finish them. The Onsen had a rare water quality, and I enjoyed a blissful time all to myself. The service was just right, allowing for a calm and quiet experience. I slept soundly until morning and breathed in the refreshing air of Tateshina in the morning. Thank you!

    It was a snowy day d...

    It was a snowy day due to the return of cold weather. However, upon entering the accommodation, the warmth of the fireplace was soothing and made it feel even better. There seemed to be only two groups staying, so it was very relaxing. The onsen bath was incredibly pleasant and could be enjoyed in a private setting. The meals we had been looking forward to exceeded our expectations; dishes like anglerfish poêlé were truly exceptional. Next time, I would love to visit during a different season.

    The smokiness of the...

    The smokiness of the smoked salmon at dinner was exquisite. It paired perfectly with the anglerfish cream sauce. The lamb dish was truly reminiscent of azalea and maple. Thank you to the owner and his daughter for their kindness to me as a solo traveler, allowing me to have a leisurely conversation. I look forward to visiting again next year.
