    I enjoyed a great last-minute deal.

    I made a last-minute Reservation with a close-in discount two days before our stay. I visited because it brought back fond memories of going to restaurants in Kodaira and Ome long ago. The main building twin room was small, but we had a view of Lake Saiko, and the washbasin area was spacious and very clean. We appreciated the separate bath and toilet, the coffee maker, and amenities such as shampoo. Many of the staff were very pleasant. Dinner was the standard course and we enjoyed it, but the main dish we had been looking forward to—the roasted beef tenderloin—was cooked completely through (well-done) and had a dry, pork-like texture, which disappointed both of us. For beef tenderloin we would expect up to medium, and we would have liked to be asked our preferred doneness in advance. This was our only disappointment. Breakfast included a delicious soft omelet. Lake Saiko was beautiful, and it was also nice to see small fish swimming in the water.

    Satisfied

    The course meal was very elaborate, and we were extremely satisfied with both the quality and the taste. Breakfast also felt like a top-class Hotel morning meal. However, for an elderly couple, the portions were a bit too large, and we ended up feeling uncomfortably full at night (laugh).

    We had a very satisfying stay.

    We chose this Hotel for the final stop of our trip, and the new Room, with its simple yet stylish interior and spacious bath, helped us forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Both dinner and breakfast were truly delicious, and you could tell they were carefully prepared. The presentation was not overly flashy but tasteful, and we were very satisfied. Perhaps because everything was so well cleaned, the stately atmosphere of the classic building stood out even more, and simply being in places like the lobby or restaurant lifted our spirits. My husband’s birthday is coming up soon, so I mentioned it in advance; even so, we were deeply moved to receive a message on the dessert plate. For us as an older couple, your heartfelt hospitality made this a memorable trip. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all the staff who assisted us.

    A relaxing Accommodation where you can unwind slowly

    I stayed one night in the New Wing Luxury Double. The Room was spacious in a quiet location, so I could truly relax. The bed is set on a raised platform and feels like a semi-private space, so I slept very well—an experience unlike any I’ve had before. As it’s a small Hotel, there weren’t many guests, and the dinner was delicious, which made for an unhurried and enjoyable time.

    I was able to relax in a quiet environment.

    It was my first time at Lake Saiko. I sometimes visit Lake Yamanaka, but this area is not overly commercialized and was very quiet and relaxing. As the name “Saiko Branch” suggests, the meals were delicious and carefully prepared. For older guests, the full-course dinner was more than enough in quantity. The wine, including locally produced Yamanashi selections, was offered at reasonable prices, which conveyed the establishment’s sincerity. We stayed in the new building, and the Room was well cleaned and spotless. The amenities were also well stocked. However, the jacuzzi bath had various special features that surprised us (a treat for those who stay). Perhaps because it was right after a holiday period, we could spend our time quietly without hearing children or loud voices or footsteps. I would like to visit again with a smaller meal portion.

    Delicious, nostalgic Mamezon

    I used to visit the Mamezon restaurant in Kodaira often as a student, so I felt nostalgic and decided to stay at Saiko Mamezon. The Hotel is right in front of Lake Saiko, and the view from the restaurant is great, but there is no view from the Room. The guest Room was spacious, new, and very clean, and the bath was also large and relaxing. Dinner was Western-style cuisine typical of Mamezon—Kai salmon mousse, sweet potato cream soup, scorpionfish acqua pazza, beef steak, etc. While they don’t use many luxury ingredients, everything was delicious and satisfying. Breakfast was generally good, but the omelet was the only disappointment—it tasted like it had been frozen.

    The main building had a moldy smell, and it felt necessary to take some measures. Stayed for one night with dinner and breakfast included, but the meals were disappointing and not worth the price. While the service was polite, it often missed the mark, which was unfortunate. For that price, the accommodation should learn from other superior accommodations' cuisine and hospitality and reflect it better.

    Best value for money

    We made a last-minute Reservation for the Obon holiday as we had some free time. We booked a Plan with no specific Room designation, including breakfast and dinner. We stayed in the new building. The Room and bath were spacious, which was very satisfying. Skincare sets were thoughtfully prepared for both men and women, and the Hotel's attentive service was truly delightful. The meals were delicious, so next time we would love to visit on a clear day to see Mount Fuji.

    Disappointed with the dinner we were looking forward to.

    We stayed with a plan that included two meals, as it was advertised as an upgraded plan featuring the chef's signature French full-course dinner. The high reviews from others also raised our expectations for the cuisine. However, both the seasoning and ingredients used were disappointing. The main meat dish was beef chuck tender roast with balsamic sauce. For a chef's signature French full-course meal, using chuck tender? It was surprising how little cost seemed to be invested in the ingredients. As it was chuck tender, it wasn't tender and had a texture similar to thick-cut roast beef. The fish dish was sea bass coated in breadcrumbs and baked, but its appearance resembled fried cutlets rather than being visually appealing, and the white fish itself was tough and unsatisfactory. The dessert also fell short of expectations. Overall, I believe both the presentation, seasoning, and choice of ingredients need to be reconsidered for all dishes served. I hope they can create meals that leave guests saying "That was delicious" from their hearts after finishing. As for the room, it was cleanly maintained; however, the provided bath towels and face towels did not seem properly sanitized. After wiping my body post-bath with them, my skin emitted an unpleasant odor reminiscent of a damp cloth—this made me very uncomfortable. Linen management needs significant improvement. Additionally, there is no elevator within the facility; movement is via stairs only. This could pose considerable difficulty for those with mobility issues.

    It was an amazing experience.

    It was my first visit to Lake Sai, and it was peaceful and relaxing. I enjoyed delicious French cuisine, a comfortable Room, and attentive yet discreet service that allowed me to unwind. Although the new building lacks a view from the Room, I was aware of this beforehand, so it wasn't an issue. During meals, I could enjoy views of Lake Sai—absolutely perfect!

    It was delicious.

    We stayed as a family. The meals were delicious! The attentive service and visually stunning dishes made for a very relaxing experience. It was slightly disappointing that the breakfast venue was quite cold in the morning and the final drink was lukewarm, but overall, it left a good impression! The Room was spacious and clean. We had a great time unwinding.

    Comfortable Restaurant Hotel

    This facility is centered around a restaurant. The main building and dining area feature warm, slightly antique furnishings. The meals were highly satisfying. Both the mustard sauce roast pork for dinner and the omelet for breakfast were excellent. When choosing a drink for breakfast, I noticed that only "grape" was in Japanese (even "apple" was written as "Apple"). Assuming it was Koshu grapes, I chose the grape juice. On the other hand, the annex where we stayed was new, with separate bath and toilet facilities. The room had a bright and cozy atmosphere. It was very comfortable and satisfying overall. I apologize for being late to start dinner due to work delays before arriving here.

    Winter in Yamanashi, Family with Children

    I stayed with my children. There were many stairs throughout, so carrying suitcases was difficult. Since it was a new building, the Room was spacious and easy to use. However, despite having a humidifying air purifier, it was very dry due to the large space, and my throat got sore. The sink and bath were apartment-style, making them difficult to use (no place to put things, no reheating function). The amount of hand soap was unusually small, and it kept falling off every time I used it, which was troublesome. There were plenty of thick towels, which was nice. I liked the scent of the amenity soaps. The food was very delicious. The children's meals were also properly handmade. It seems that families with children are seated at the back, so dining with a view of the lakeside was not possible. It can't be helped.

    The meals were very delicious. The Room and the front space area smelled moldy. It was raining, and I thought it might be difficult due to the location. The bath also seemed dirty, so I didn't use it.

    A hotel with a nice atmosphere

    I stayed in the new building! I was able to relax in the spacious and comfortable Room, but the smell of drainage coming up from the washroom was strong... It was unfortunate that the smell lingered every time I went to the toilet or bath.

    Above all, the location is excellent.

    The structure of the Stays has a retro feel, yet the new building was very clean and comfortable. I think it's worth it just to be able to travel comfortably in this location. Also, the tilefish was incredibly delicious.
