    Room Cleaning

    Dissatisfaction with Hotel Cleaning I stayed here looking forward to the Obon holiday break, but the Room was not thoroughly cleaned, and honestly I was disappointed. I understand it was a busy period during the holidays, but as a guest, I expected at least basic cleaning to be done properly. I hope this will be improved in the future.

    The kids were thrilled.

    During our stay over the summer holidays, the dinner buffet was especially crowded, but aside from that, the Hotel is spacious so it didn’t feel overly busy. The kids were happy to have a pool. The Room was clean, and it was very helpful that we could use the laundry room for free. The shop was large and had a great selection of Chiikawa hats, so I ended up buying one. As for the Onsen, it uses transported water and is chlorinated with a circulation system, so we used the bath in our Room instead. Overall, we were satisfied and had an enjoyable stay.

    There are many activ...

    There are many activities for children, making it a great place for families. It’s a small thing, but the cart for carrying meal trays was convenient and made dining easier. It was especially helpful for older guests and families, and we didn’t see this at many other Resort Hotels.

    The food is delicious.

    We stayed for a Multiple Night Stay (2 nights) on weekday nights in July (Thu–Sat). Breakfast and dinner were included, and dinner was a buffet with all-you-can-eat crab. I didn’t expect much from the crab, but it was genuinely delicious! Everything—sushi, mixed rice, and even the snack-style dishes that pair well with alcohol—was great, and I think the food is this Hotel’s biggest highlight. The indoor pool was quiet, so we were able to enjoy it to the fullest. The paid kids’ parks (both indoor and outdoor), putter golf, and the lift were also fun. There are washing machines and dryers, so we did laundry every night and wore the same clothes each day, which helped us pack light. The large public bath felt clean and also has a water dispenser. There’s almost no view from the open-air bath. Overall, it didn’t feel like a place you go specifically to enjoy the baths.

    It was wonderful.

    The more I think about it, the more uncomfortable it makes me feel.

    We stayed in the Kyorochan Room for two nights. After being shown to our Room, we found a used contact lens by the bed pillow (on top of the sheet, right next to the pillow). No one in our family wears contact lenses. We were concerned about possible infections, so we asked for the bed to be remade immediately, but it completely ruined our mood. The more we think about how this could happen, the more uncomfortable it makes us feel. We asked that this issue be shared among the staff, but at checkout the staff member who assisted us did not seem to know about it, so we are writing it here. This should never happen. On the first night, there was a large group of foreign guests, and dinner at the buffet was extremely noisy. They were also drinking late into the night at tables below the lobby. On the second night there were more Japanese guests and we were able to eat calmly. The restaurant apparently does not allow yukata, but some foreign guests came in their Room slippers and ate noisily, which felt very untidy.

    Fun Memories

    Every year, our family visits to enjoy winter sports. Thank you for helping us create wonderful memories. I wasn’t feeling well and couldn’t go out for dinner, but you kindly switched us to takeout, and my family brought the meal back so I could eat it in the Room. It was a great help—thank you. I would appreciate it if the washing area in the large public bath could be improved, as it faces the entrance to the open-air bath and cold air comes in every time the door opens. Also, it would be helpful if the shower temperature could be made more stable.

    Ideal for long-term stays.

    This was my third stay, following previous visits to the now-discontinued Twin and Tokyu rooms, and this time I stayed on the Forest Floor. Each room has its own unique charm, but I particularly enjoyed the Forest Floor this time. The room was perfect for a 3-night stay with features like a washing machine, drink service availability, an ice machine on the same floor, no waiting for elevators as it’s on the top floor, and a Japanese-Western style layout that made it easy to spread out luggage. The meals were served in a spacious buffet-style restaurant. While food can cool down by the time you return to your seat, I think both adults and children can enjoy the variety offered. Speaking of Nagano specialties—soba noodles, nozawana pickles, oyaki dumplings—they were all delicious! On our last day with clear weather, we were tempted to use the golf course but decided against it since starting at 7 AM would have cut into our sleep before traveling back home. It would be great if there were slightly later half-round options available (though I understand that might overlap with times when public baths are unavailable). I hope to visit again next year!

    A Long-Awaited Trip

    I hadn't traveled for years, so I planned this trip to create memories with my children. The weather was bad on the first day, but the Hotel staff were kind, and we enjoyed swimming in the pool and having delicious meals. It was a Hotel I would love to visit again. Thank you very much!

    It was excellent!

    We stayed for one night as a family and were first impressed by the location and the richness of nature. The view from both the lobby and the room was breathtaking, surrounded by lush green mountains. The meals were delicious, the beds were comfortable, and the room was very relaxing. The forest floor had free laundry facilities, which was very convenient. The terrace we reached via lift offered an incredible view. Guests staying at the hotel could also use the nearby golf course for a half-round if it wasn’t busy. It was such a comfortable Hotel that we wished to have a Multiple Night Stay. All of the foreign staff members were excellent. This is a high-hospitality Hotel in nature’s embrace—we would love to stay again!

    During the busy summ...

    During the busy summer vacation period, it seemed that the Room cleaning was not properly done. The staff did not appear to be well-trained. The buffet-style meals were of low quality and unsatisfactory. I would never want to visit again. It was a disappointing Hotel.

    I will visit again.

    I stayed at Madarao Tangram Accommodation after a long time. I think the cost performance is excellent. Surrounded by nature, I was able to relax with delicious meals and the onsen. It's a bit disappointing that it's a little far from Tokyo. If it were closer, I would visit this hotel frequently.

    Guest Satisfaction

    The front desk and other departments, including the restaurant, were highly satisfactory. Of course, the staff was excellent as well. Both Japanese and Chinese cuisine were absolutely delightful.

    Children enjoyed it! No repeat visit.

    We stayed in the Kyoro-chan Room this time, and the children were thrilled. However, we were dissatisfied with the response after a power outage and will not be returning. As a room perk, there was an all-you-can-eat ice cream offer (limited to what was provided in the room with no refills). The children were delighted with the abundance of ice cream. Unfortunately, a power outage occurred. The outage lasted for at least 20 minutes or more before being resolved. Naturally, the ice cream started melting... Despite this being an all-you-can-eat ice cream room, there was no explanation or any response from staff during this time. Not knowing how long the power would be out made us anxious because it was an ice-cream-themed room (this wouldn’t have been as concerning in a regular room). When we asked about the cause of the outage during checkout, we were told that they didn’t know because they had been off duty yesterday. The staff didn’t even try to ask someone else for clarification... While our child enjoyed staying in the Kyoro-chan Room and said they’d like to stay in another one someday, we felt disappointed by how things were handled after such an incident. Even just a word of acknowledgment or explanation regarding what happened would have made a difference. Unfortunately, having no communication at all left us feeling dissatisfied about staying in an all-you-can-eat ice cream-themed room under these circumstances. Regrettably, we won’t be returning again.

    Family-friendly.

    We stayed as a family of three. We used the exciting kids' room, but there were large half-eaten rice crackers and candy wrappers on the floor. When we informed the front desk, they promptly came to clean it up, but it made us wonder if the cleaning was thorough enough. Since our child is only 2 years old and might pick up and eat such things, we hope for better room cleanliness. The wet wipes provided in the room were dried out and unusable. While there are child-friendly body soaps in the room, they are not available in the public bath area, so please be aware of this. We had high expectations but were left disappointed by several aspects.

    Due to staff shortages,

    When I requested a change of sheets due to a large stain, they were replaced with sheets that had a small stain, and I was told that these were the only sheets left. Are the old sheets not discarded? Several cleaning carts were left in the hallway until the evening, and the cleaning was not completed during the time guests were out, which was unpleasant. The trash bins inside the facility were also overflowing with garbage. The buffet was not tasty. The French cuisine was delicious, so it seems like the quality of the buffet is being lowered. It is inconvenient that there is no safety box in the room.

    I went to see the autumn leaves.

    There were no towels in the room. The bathroom seemed to be halfway cleaned, with hair left in the drain and dirt remaining. The faucet in the washroom was either not properly closed or broken, as water droplets were left. When I contacted the front desk about the lack of towels, I was told to come to the front desk to pick them up. The hotel's system felt outdated. The large public bath had a good variety of amenities. Nojiri Lake Terrace was pleasant to visit early in the morning. It would be nice if the lift operated earlier.

    It was a hotel that put my mind at ease.

    I stayed for four days and three nights on weekdays before the September holiday. It was a good rest as I was able to spend time leisurely in a spacious and quiet space. The restaurant's food arrangement was spacious, and we could use a cart to place the tray, so my elderly mother could choose her menu and enjoy her meal at her own pace. The staff left us alone just the right amount, so we could enjoy our stay comfortably.
