    Generous portions and delicious meals.

    A relaxing trip for a couple in our 50s. The bath was very pleasant, and the complimentary Yakult after bathing was excellent. The meals were generous, and the eel kamameshi at the end was delicious. If it weren’t for the loud noise from the in-room refrigerator and the extremely loud motorcycles at night, we think this would be an outstanding Accommodation.

    So-so

    It wasn’t bad. However, once inside the Ryokan, it felt very dark, which was a bit disappointing. The Room was very clean and I was very satisfied. The meals were average. I feel the front desk is the face of a Ryokan, but even at checkout they responded with a casual “thanks” while staying seated, which left me unsure how to feel. It may have been because it was the off-season and they were in a relaxed mode. In many cases, Business Hotels provide much better service. That said, the staff member who seemed to be a foreign national and worked as an attendant was cheerful and wonderful. They weren’t there when we checked out, though.

    A Great Spot at Lake Hamana

    I was able to relax and enjoy the Onsen many times, and I also ate plenty of delicious food, making it a wonderful trip. I would love to stay here again.

    It was a cozy Hotel.

    I was able to spend a quiet, relaxing time. Since I stayed on a weekday, it was more comfortable than expected. I was very satisfied with the meals as well. Although I traveled by bus, I didn’t find it inconvenient. Thank you very much.

    Eel Feast

    I visited after hearing in a Review that the food was delicious, hoping to recharge and unwind from work, with Hamamatsu eel as my main goal. The moment I entered the Room, the scent of deodorizer felt a bit strong, and that was the only thing that bothered me. However, despite being a long-established Ryokan, the Room had been nicely renovated, and the twin-bed Room was very comfortable. I was able to relax and take my time. As Kanzanji Onsen is said to be a sodium- and calcium-chloride strong saline Onsen, I expected it to be quite salty, but in reality it wasn’t as strong as I imagined and was easy to soak in. Salty Onsen can sometimes feel slippery on the skin, but I didn’t find it that noticeable here. Since this Ryokan is a little away from the Kanzanji Onsen town area, the water quality might be different. The meals may not look especially flashy, but everything tasted great and I was very satisfied. The staff serving the dishes looked a bit busy, but they were efficient and responsive, which I appreciated. Since it was a special occasion, I chose a course with grilled eel (kabayaki), but it was quite filling—I may have overdone it... haha

    Satisfied with dinner

    Four elderly men stayed at the accommodation. We reserved a smoking room, and although there was a slight smell of tobacco at first, it became unnoticeable after turning on the air conditioner. The room offered a great view of Lake Hamana below, and it was quiet with no noise, which was very pleasant. For dinner, there were two dishes featuring the famous eel cuisine, which were extremely delicious. It was an affordable stay, but we were very satisfied.

    We enjoyed a relaxin...

    We enjoyed a relaxing private dining experience, unique to a Japanese Ryokan, instead of a buffet style. The bath was slightly hot, which was perfect.

    A Hotel that is easy to use.

    During the cold season, instead of heading to the usual Tohoku area, I visited Kanzanji Onsen in Hamamatsu. It was warm. Although it is a traditional Onsen Hotel, I was able to relax without any worries. Above all, I felt it was very cost-effective. The bath was excellent. There was a sauna, an open-air bath, and a reclining bath, and I bathed multiple times. The slight chlorine smell was within an acceptable range. All the staff members were friendly. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, but the portions were too large, and I couldn't finish them. The aquariums with goldfish and freshwater fish were fascinating.
