    We stayed with four ...

We stayed with four people (a married couple, an elementary school child, and a preschool child) and one dog. The Room was very spacious and comfortable. However, dinner was a BBQ. Although it said it would be on the wood deck (or the dog run in case of rain), we were guided to the covered dog run even though it wasn’t raining. It was very smoky and hot, which we really didn’t like. Also, even though we made a Reservation with meals included for the preschool child, food for four adults was prepared. Of course the children couldn’t eat it, so we had no choice but to eat what we brought ourselves, which was disappointing. And there was far too much food overall, so we ended up leaving some. At check-in, we were told that after dinner we could roast marshmallows for free and enjoy edamame, shaved ice dumplings, cotton candy, and a shooting game. However, there were no staff there at that area; we only managed to make cotton candy ourselves and didn’t know about anything else, so we went back to our Room. Since it cost nearly 200,000 yen for one night and we were really looking forward to it, overall it left us with a disappointing impression.

    Please make it more professional.

We stayed at ULALA Annex for two nights with four adults, one older elementary school child, and one 2-year-old. The building and facilities were new, the layout was spacious, and the provided appliances and amenities were well stocked. The children also thoroughly enjoyed the pool. However, the cleaning was not thorough: dog hair and clumps of fur were found throughout the dining area, living room, bedrooms, and even on the wooden deck, which was very unpleasant. When we requested additional cleaning, it was handled properly, but this should have been checked and addressed before guests had to point it out. Given the high Accommodation fee, we expect professional management that matches the price, including proper staff training.

    The Best Panoramic View

We stayed for two nights this May. We booked a villa with a pool, but we didn’t use the pool. The Room was spacious, and the bath was also large. We also enjoyed the Onsen. Because there was no fence by the poolside, we were briefly scared our dogs might run in. For dinner, we used the main building restaurant with Shuttle Service included. The first night’s meal wasn’t really to our taste, and since there was no menu provided, it was hard to understand what everything was. The second night’s meal was very good; a proper menu was provided, and we also ordered the optional simmered golden eye snapper (Kinmedai), which was delicious. On the service side, coordination among staff wasn’t very good. A staff member the previous evening told us that our next-day food option order would be confirmed at breakfast, but the person serving breakfast the next morning didn’t know anything about it. Also, when we used the washing machine, a drying error appeared. We ended up cleaning even the washing machine filter ourselves. It seems housekeeping may not have been doing regular maintenance on it—this was surprising. I think the housekeeping supervisor should check this more carefully; having guests clean a washing machine while traveling is really unacceptable. The dog run was excellent. We could see the sunrise and were truly moved. Our dogs played a lot and we had a relaxing time. The view was amazing. We also appreciated that drinks were prepared in the refrigerator. As for access, since it is far from the main building, we didn’t use facilities there other than the restaurant. Next time, we’d like to try the dog Onsen as well. This is an Onsen Ryokan I’d like to visit again. We plan to stay again at the end of September. Thank you in advance.

We stayed with our dog. It was wonderful to be able to stay together even during meals and in the bath. The food was delicious, and the breakfast basket was adorable. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

Our second stay—once again, it was amazing!

I stayed here two years ago and it was amazing. This time, even though it was raining due to back-to-back typhoons, it didn’t matter at all—our stay was wonderful again. I heard the interior was fully renovated about a year and a half ago, and the Room has been updated with a modern feel. It’s stairs up to around the 5th floor, but each step is low, so getting around isn’t difficult. Our two dogs get excited the moment they arrive when they like an Accommodation, and they were thrilled this time as well. They even used the provided toilet just like at home. Since they’re timid, we didn’t use the dog run. I tried three Onsen baths, and all of them were perfect—the temperature was just right. The food is simply outstanding. The sashimi is expertly prepared, and there’s more than enough overall—I couldn’t finish everything. I especially love how Shiki no Kura serves abalone, and it was truly delicious again this time. Even compared with top Hotels and Ryokan across The whole country, this place ranks among the best. Breakfast was also excellent: a selection of side dishes that anyone would enjoy paired with rice cooked in a clay pot. The staff’s guidance and conversation were great, as were their thoughtful touches in the Room. After breakfast I took a nap and checked out at 11:00—honestly, I relaxed even more than my dogs did. The building itself does feel old in places; when I wiped the floor it came up dirty. But everywhere has something these days due to staffing shortages, so it didn’t bother me. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that prices fluctuate quite a bit during Kawazu cherry blossom season and other peak times. If it were always reasonably priced, I’d make this my regular go-to (laugh). I will definitely be back again.

    Nature Retreat

This Accommodation is kind to both dogs and people. Lotus flowers were blooming in the courtyard. When I opened the Room window, I could see the courtyard and hear the sound of the fountain water and birdsong; all around was lush greenery, and in the distance I could see the sea. I relaxed in that Room, played with my dog at the dog run, enjoyed the Onsen, and had meals together with my dog. I also enjoyed chatting with guests at the next table. At the rooftop dog run as well, I could sit in a rocking chair and take it easy while looking out at the sea. It was very helpful that everything was prepared so we could quickly clean up after our dog’s poop and pee. All of the staff were kind to dogs, and my dog seemed happy too. Just one thing about meals: as someone who doesn’t eat much, I’d be happy if you could reduce the portion size a bit and improve the quality slightly. Thank you very much. I’d love to visit again.

    A Blissful Holiday

We stayed at ULALA with three dogs and five adults in our family. The Accommodation was spacious and spotless, and we truly felt pampered throughout our stay. We booked a Plan with two meals included, but the kitchen and cooking equipment were so well appointed that we felt No Meals Included would have been perfectly fine as well. For dinner, we had Shuttle Service to the main building, and for breakfast, the full meal set was delivered to our Accommodation—there was no inconvenience at all. The food was delicious, and the portions were more than sufficient. The staff’s hospitality was impeccable, and both we and our dogs were completely comfortable. We were able to relax without any worries. It was a bit of a splurge, but the service fully matched the price. Our whole family agreed that we will definitely return. Thank you very much.

A highly satisfying Accommodation where both dogs and their owners can relax and enjoy delicious meals.

The staff were very attentive, and the Accommodation is truly pet-first, so I felt at ease as a pet owner. The building itself is old, but the Room and stairways have been renovated with stylish, user-friendly touches. The meals are Japanese cuisine with plenty of delicious seafood. At breakfast, squirrels that the Accommodation has fed came by, and we enjoyed our meal while watching them eat through the window. With this kind of thoughtful effort, I think it’s an Accommodation with a high level of satisfaction in both service and facilities.

It was great! A squirrel garden!

Following our previous stay at AZITO, this time we stayed at Squirrel Garden. Surrounded by fresh greenery, it was a wonderfully relaxing space, and just like last time, we were completely satisfied with the free-flowing natural hot spring Onsen—exactly to our taste. We arrived a little early, but you kindly handled our check-in smoothly, which made us feel great from the start. For dinner, the sashimi platter left a particularly strong impression. The food was delicious—including breakfast—and we ate so much that we went home having gained weight. As for the spiders in the Room... around bedtime... they started rustling... and moving. They moved incredibly fast... and sometimes even came closer, which definitely made our hearts race. Of course, they did not cause any harm. After working through Golden Week and feeling exhausted... we were truly able to relax here. Kawazu is a bit far for us, but we hope to visit again in a different season. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

    Second stay

This was our second stay, so we felt at home and knew what to expect. The weather was great, and we really enjoyed riding a tuk-tuk along the coastline with our dog and visiting dog parks. Because we can relax and spend time with our dog without any worries, we would love to stay again. Just like during our previous stay, the thoughtful attention to detail is truly impressive. There was a welcome message left in the Room, and the staff even played with our dog—overall, we were deeply moved by the hospitality. The meals are also outstanding.

    I had a comfortable stay.

This is one of the few Hotels where we were able to stay so comfortably while truly spending time with our dog. My only regret is that, although I make it a rule to never leave food, the BBQ dinner portion was so large that I couldn’t finish it—even though the meat was excellent. It would be appreciated if guests could choose the portion size or contents to some extent.

This was my first stay. The Room was spacious and had a lovely atmosphere. It was well cleaned, with no odors, so I had a comfortable stay. All of the staff were kind and even spoke to my dog. It became a fun trip with great memories. I would like to stay again.

    The meals were delic...

The meals were delicious. We could bring our dog into the restaurant, and the view was wonderful. In the morning, a squirrel was eating just outside the window, which was very soothing. Since the whole building is old, I felt a little uneasy at times, but both human and pet amenities were well stocked, so we stayed comfortably without any inconvenience. We were lucky enough to make three Reservations for the private Onsen (morning, night, and morning again), so we got to try every type—very fortunate. Still, after using it so many times, I started to worry whether it was really included in our stay and felt a bit anxious until checkout (haha). In the end, everything was fine. The private open-air bath requires quite a few stairs to reach; in winter rain it might be tough since you have to walk outside. The dog run is even further up, so I think owners will get a workout too. As for service: the staff member at check-in spoke to us warmly and made a good impression, but some of the younger staff near the free drinks area seemed shy—when I spoke to them there wasn’t much response, which left me unsure. It seems to depend on who you get. Overall it has an Asian-inspired atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve traveled far away. The Kawazu cherry blossoms had already finished blooming, but we still enjoyed our stay. It was disappointing that we couldn’t ride the tuk-tuk due to strong winds that day, but overall it was very comfortable. At checkout we received ponkan citrus as a souvenir gift—it really warmed my heart.

    Dog-first, fun for owners too.

I made a Reservation well in advance to see the Kawazu cherry blossoms. They also provided Shuttle Service to the illuminated night blossoms, and I was very satisfied. We roasted marshmallows over the evening campfire—it was so relaxing after a long time. My dog even got to try swimming for the first time in the dog pool (spa). At breakfast, a squirrel came right up to the window and it was adorable. I’d love to stay here again when I visit Kawazu.

    The bathwater is lukewarm...

The staff were all very kind, cheerful, and full of smiles—truly wonderful. Thank you for taking care of us. The open-air bath was far away and seemed quite cold, so we didn’t use it. We used the indoor bath instead, but the water was lukewarm and felt chilly. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Thank you for the lovely meals! However, the building is very old, and having only stairs was inconvenient—a downside for sure. It’s not suitable for elderly guests. Also, there were a few strands of hair in the Room.

The property features a charming vintage ambiance throughout.

The facility appears to be a renovated old training center or retreat house, but it shows signs of aging, with low ceilings and a generally dim atmosphere throughout. There is no elevator, so guests must use stairs to move vertically in the four-story building for bathing or dining, making it unsuitable for elderly individuals or dogs that have difficulty using stairs. Additionally, we were informed that the private bath reservation could only be made once for one hour regardless of availability. Since mixed-gender bathing was not an option for us, we ended up using the standard bathroom in our guest room instead.

    Traditional Japanese Cuisine

The dog spa was the highlight of our stay. I was so happy to see my dog swimming so well. However, since we went in right after check-in, the water and room temperature felt cold, and we had to come out quickly. I regret not checking the temperature beforehand. Dinner and breakfast were like dining at a fine restaurant—beautifully presented, hearty portions, and absolutely delicious! We were very satisfied. For our dog, there were biscuits after dinner and yogurt with puffed rice during breakfast, which was wonderful. After dinner, I thought about grabbing some cup noodles or snacks like oshiruko or edamame if still hungry but ended up skipping them because dinner was so satisfying! Instead, we enjoyed roasting marshmallows by the campfire. The lounge coffee and orange juice also provided a relaxing moment for us. The private Onsen left my skin feeling smooth and allowed us to unwind completely—it was fantastic! The forest dog run was fun too; spotting squirrels added excitement to our walk. From the rooftop, we could see a stunning starry sky; early morning views of Orion’s Belt and the Big Dipper were especially clear and beautiful. One thing I wish for is an elevator—it would have been convenient. We made many wonderful memories during our stay here. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Accommodation for Dogs

The building is old, so it wasn't very clean and felt a bit inconvenient. However, it is an excellent place for dogs. Within the facility, dogs could exercise freely without needing to wear diapers (of course, owners are responsible for cleaning up any accidents with water). I felt safe letting my dog play here. The meals exceeded expectations in taste—be careful not to overeat! There was a handwritten welcome message on the board in the room and a letter expressing that our stay was special, which deeply moved me. Both the staff and other guests were dog lovers, making it easy to converse naturally and ensuring a comfortable stay.

    Make your special day unforgettable!

I used this accommodation for my dog's birthday trip. The service was unexpectedly poor for this price range, and there was a lack of communication among the staff, leading to many unpleasant experiences. - The room smelled bad. - The message on the dog’s birthday cake was different from what I requested. - The promised dog toy gift as part of the 8 special benefits was not provided. - Insufficient explanation about private bath reservations and meal times made it difficult to choose available slots. - There was no seat prepared for my dog during dinner. - Although the reservation stated a late check-out at 12 PM, I was told to check out at 11 AM. - At check-out, a drink order from another table was mistakenly included in my bill, which I would have paid if I hadn’t noticed. I had been looking forward to celebrating my dog's birthday but ended up very disappointed. I will never use this accommodation again.

    Oriental Atmosphere

The name of the accommodation evokes a Japanese concept, but in Saga, the entire facility had an oriental mood. The premises are spacious and intricately designed, allowing guests to enjoy a resort-like experience. It is also very welcoming for dogs, with a friendly environment and attentive staff. The meals are high-grade Japanese cuisine, and there are three types of Onsen to enjoy, leaving nothing to be desired. While the building is slightly old, it has a calming charm.

    Celebrate your birthday with family.

We visited with two Toy Poodles and four adults. Dogs were allowed in the restaurant, and they behaved quietly. Among accommodations that allow dogs, this is the most wonderful so far. The meals were carefully prepared, the room was well-maintained, and our dogs had a great time. Thank you very much!

    Would love to visit again!

We were looking for an accommodation to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday and found this place with high reviews, which also allows pets. Upon arrival, our luggage was carried to the room, and the check-in explanation was detailed and courteous. All baths, including two open-air baths and an indoor bath, were available for private use. As someone who loves onsen but feels uneasy sharing with others, I felt very relaxed. Normally I don't sweat much in onsen, but this time I sweated so much that it felt like a great detox effect. I have stayed at accommodations where pets are allowed during meals several times before; however, most require leashes and have pets stay on the floor. Here they provided pet beds or carts at each table—what a pet-friendly accommodation! The dinner consisted of many carefully prepared dishes; even after enjoying a celebratory cake as well, it didn’t feel heavy at all—it was delicious! The breakfast also had so many options that it was hard to choose; my husband even emptied the rice pot because he found the rice so tasty. The shuttle service by car as well as staff at reception and in the restaurant were all smiling and provided excellent hospitality throughout our stay. It became a memorable trip for celebrating his 70th birthday—we are truly grateful!

    Unfortunately.

We stayed for two nights this time. To be honest, the experience did not match the price at all. We have stayed at many pet-friendly accommodations before, but this was the worst. From the moment we arrived at the accommodation, everything was poorly managed. In heavy rain, several cars were waiting without proper guidance. We unloaded our luggage under a roofed area that felt like an old countryside shed—terrible impression. The check-in process was unprofessional; explanations were unclear and staff couldn’t answer our questions properly. To make matters worse, they communicated unnecessary matters via intercom in front of guests during check-in. It was frustrating to witness other guests waiting in their cars for over 30 minutes and entering angrily without receiving any assistance. When being shown to our room with large luggage, we had to ask them ourselves if they could help carry it—they didn’t offer assistance on their own. There were nonsensical ramps on the stairs despite being told pet carts couldn’t be used inside; both my husband and I tripped due to their irregularity—it’s dangerous and should be reconsidered. The room itself was good—it seemed like it had been recently renovated with care—but apart from that, there wasn’t anything positive about this stay. The meals were mediocre as well. What upset us most is that we booked this stay as a special occasion for our dog’s birthday and requested over the phone for a cake to be served during dinner on Day 2 (the actual birthday). However, it came out on Day 1 instead! This is unacceptable—we blew out the candle immediately and asked them to bring it back tomorrow instead—but shockingly no apology followed until checkout time! The lack of quality service left us speechless. The bath facilities weren’t particularly impressive either; cleanliness needs improvement especially in changing areas which lacked hygiene entirely. On Day 2 during breakfast another shocking incident occurred—a bug appeared on my husband’s dish! Staff ignored it even though they were serving rice nearby—I ended up handling it myself while noticing more bugs under small dishes stored below boxes… utterly unpleasant experience overall! Spending nearly ¥200,000 for such low-quality service left both me & my husband disappointed beyond words—we will never return again!

    Meals are...

This was my first time using this accommodation, but as the title suggests, I was not satisfied with the meals. The Facility itself felt slightly aged, but it was not at an uncomfortable level and posed no issues. Additionally, the hospitality was decent, and there were no staff members whose service felt unpleasant. As for the meals, firstly, the lighting at the seating area was disappointing. The position of the downlights did not align with the seats, leaving none of the dishes illuminated. Next is about the menu; honestly, it felt like minimal effort had been put into it. Even considering that this is a pet-friendly accommodation where some costs might go towards that aspect, given its relatively high accommodation fee, I expected well-thought-out meals. However, from seeing the appetizer alone I thought: "Oh no... this feels rushed and thrown together." All subsequent dishes also lacked effort and did not match up to what one would expect for such a price point. The biggest enjoyment of staying overnight—dining—was completely let down during this 1-night stay which left me disappointed overall. In hindsight perhaps taking IKYU.com's casual label more seriously would have helped manage expectations better. I believe either revising pricing or changing chefs might be necessary here to improve guest satisfaction moving forward!

    A luxurious and wonderful accommodation!

The perfect accommodation for your furry friend! There are four dog runs, including an indoor one that keeps your pet dry even on rainy days, and there's also an onsen spa for dogs. Dogs are allowed in most areas of the facility. It's especially great that you can bring them to the restaurant and two outdoor open-air baths. *Please note: Be cautious of dangerous insects like centipedes and bees in the outdoor baths. The meals were exceptional both at night and in the morning! The all-you-can-drink menu was extensive, with everything tasting delicious. The lounge offers drink services, fun events like festivals or mini BBQs, and during certain seasons, you can even enjoy firefly viewing nearby! Each room comes with a unit bath. While there is no large public bath, there are three private onsen baths with natural hot spring water (time-limited), which you can use anytime if unoccupied—available 24 hours a day. One star deducted for amenities because the hairdryer was old and had a broken handle.
