    I was very satisfied...

    I was very satisfied with the Hotel’s Facility, the staff service, and the dining options. In particular, the daily replenishment of drinks in the guest room, the spacious and comfortable large public bath, and the fireworks viewing area were excellent. However, the price was a little high. The only drawback was that the parking lot was a bit far away. I would definitely like to stay here again next time.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    It was our first stay, and we were able to relax and take it easy. The Onsen water was hot, which we really appreciated. It was a shame that the washing area (shower room) and the in-Room bath were far apart, making it inconvenient to use. The welcome drinks were well stocked—more than we could finish—so we were very grateful. If there were a freezer in the Room, we could reuse the ice packs we brought the next day, which would be very helpful, so we hope you will consider it. We would love to stay again if we have the opportunity.

    The bath was wonderful.

    We stayed in a top-floor Room with an open-air bath for two adults. The water felt very soft, and we were both satisfied to be able to enjoy such nice hot-spring water. The in-room open-air bath was free-flowing and very hot; even though it was a shame to dilute it, we added a little water at first, but I suppose it couldn’t be helped. Although the Room is old, it was comfortable, and we loved the view of the lake and green mountains from the terrace. The buffet seems like a menu that families with small children would enjoy, which made sense given how many families were staying. Thank you for taking care of us.

    It was excellent!

    I will definitely visit again! A Ryokan that gets repeat guests always trains their staff to greet every guest warmly. Every time you pass by, they greet you. This is a common trait of highly-rated places I’ve visited before. Greeting every time you pass by—it’s a way to ensure they never forget the spirit of hospitality! Please stay just as you are now! I once revisited a place after a year, and the service had become so terrible that it was disappointing and even infuriating. This was truly the best day ever! Thank you so much.

    Great value for a comfortable stay!

    At first, entering the room made me think, "Huh?" It looked quite different from the photos on the Hotel's listing! But upon closer inspection, it was actually the same (laughs). I realized how much angles and bed covers can change appearances and had a good laugh. Since I stayed on a weekday, it was super affordable, so I thought, "Oh well," and lay down on the bed—its comfort was good! The room seemed to have been converted from a Japanese-style room to a Western-style one. Though it felt unnatural at first, I gradually got used to it. A room with 3 beds for 2 people felt odd too. The shoe cabinet right at the entrance of the Room gave off a retro Showa-era vibe—but that added to its charm! The unit bath in the Room was very small. While I personally enjoyed warming up in it both at night and in the morning, when draining water after use, it overflowed onto the floor making the bath mat unusable... but this issue had been mentioned beforehand. My husband went to use Onsen facilities both at night and in the morning; he said they were excellent! The meals were decent—not luxurious as expected for an Onsen town in rural areas—but we appreciated being able to stay affordably and relax leisurely.

    We stayed here for a...

    We stayed here for a family trip. There are two large public baths, each with an open-air bath, which was excellent! The buffet meals were abundant in variety and everything was very delicious. The live kitchen served warm, freshly prepared dishes, which made us very happy! One minor inconvenience was that the children's chairs in the dining area did not have belts. Since our child couldn't sit still and tried to stand up, it made feeding a bit challenging. However, the buffet had plenty of menu options that children love, which was very helpful! Another slight concern was the dryness in the room; perhaps it’s due to the season and unavoidable. Other than that, we experienced exceptional hospitality and had a stress-free stay at this accommodation. We would love to visit again!

    I had a very pleasan...

    I had a very pleasant stay. The building itself may have some years on it, but it is well-maintained. The staff were kind and provided attentive service. The large public baths, with two baths each for men and women, were great as they did not require the typical gender rotation system. The private bath was initially quite hot, which surprised me, but I was able to adjust it using the water adjustment button. The buffet meals offered a satisfying variety and quantity of dishes. However, for breakfast drinks, only milk and tomato juice were available; I would have appreciated having orange juice as an option. I understand that rising costs might make this challenging nowadays. The Room's bathroom was a "bath with washing area" type without a toilet in the unit bath setup—it wasn’t what I expected based on my understanding of the description. Additionally, there were no photos of the bathroom provided beforehand, which added to my disappointment. It might have been coincidental, but the drainage seemed partially clogged as well. That said, as mentioned at the beginning, overall my experience was highly satisfactory! If given another opportunity in the future, I would love to visit again—thank you very much!

    Rooms with open-air baths and staff service are excellent, but the food was disappointing.

    I stayed in a room with an open-air Onsen and found it to be a very comfortable space. The Simmons bed was also very comfortable, and the staff provided excellent service. However, the dinner buffet was disappointing in every aspect—terrible seasoning and presentation. The steak was made from Australian beef with sinew? Why serve Australian beef at Gunma Sarugakyo Onsen? If cost is a concern, chicken steak would have been better... The tempura had thick batter with no crispiness—terrible! Worse than amateur cooking. As for sushi, it was pre-made at its own pace and tasted bad—again worse than amateur cooking! Other dishes were also unappetizing! Even the desserts were bad! The only delicious item was the locally sourced Koshihikari rice. Honestly, this buffet doesn't even compare to family restaurants or conveyor belt sushi places—they are far better. The breakfast buffet had somewhat decent seasoning but still... Does the person in charge of the buffet not know what good food tastes like? Having bad food at an Onsen Ryokan is unacceptable!

    It was disappointing...

    It was disappointing that luggage was not carried to the Room and no guidance was provided. Even with the blinds down, sunlight came through in the morning, and the bed was too hard to sleep well. There were no face towels in the bathroom, which was unfortunate. It would have been nice if there were indoor wear (samue). The hospitality and Room setup did not match the price. Personally, I don't think I will return next time.

    Very satisfied!

    The room on the top floor was very clean and beautiful. Only the toilet and bathroom in the room felt a bit old. The meals were excellent! Both dinner and breakfast were extremely satisfying!

    The toilet space is compact, and there is a possibility of bumping your head. It would be appreciated if the room key could be changed to a card key for easier use.

    Once you visit, you'll want to come back.

    We stayed here for a special occasion and had a wonderful time thanks to the attentive staff. During dinner, the staff, some of whom were around my mother's age, moved efficiently and interacted warmly, leaving a great impression. I was also glad to personally thank the manager during checkout. We look forward to visiting again!

    Relaxing Accommodation for Families

    We stayed as a three-family group. The bath was spacious and clean, the room was large and comfortable, and the meals were delicious with a wide variety of options—everyone was very satisfied. Karaoke was so much fun! The staff were all kind, which was the most delightful point. The omelet at breakfast was incredibly tasty, and everyone loved the many side dishes available with rice. This is an accommodation we’d love to visit again as a family. We had a great time!

    Rooms with Open-Air Bath

    Stayed in a room with a semi-open-air Onsen. The room was clean, and the sofa was comfortable for relaxing. The windows were large, offering enjoyable views from the room. There were two public baths, but I barely used them since the Onsen in the room had free-flowing hot spring water. If you're choosing this hotel for its Onsen, I recommend staying in a room with an attached Onsen. Beer and wine were provided for free in the room, and they replenished them during multiple night stays, which was appreciated. The buffet meals were average—there weren’t an overwhelming number of options, and the taste was ordinary. I was very satisfied with how attentive and polite the staff members were. One downside would be that Wi-Fi didn’t work in the room; the signal was too weak to connect properly.

    It was very disappointing.

    The Review was very good, so I made a Reservation for a Room with the coveted private open-air bath. I was really looking forward to it, but at check-in on the day, I was informed that the Room's heating was under repair and they would provide a stove as an alternative. However, the small electric stove did not warm up the Room at all, and it was so cold that I couldn't take off my down coat. Therefore, we moved to a slightly smaller Room with an open-air bath. Since it was a compact Room, we tried to manage by using two electric stoves and boiling water in an electric kettle. But when we turned on the TV, the breaker tripped. After consulting with them, we reluctantly moved to a heated Japanese-style room without an open-air bath for our stay. It was disappointing because this happened just after feeling relieved upon arriving amidst heavy snow warnings. Moreover, it wasn't a sudden issue; they had been repairing it since two days prior. Why there wasn't any prior notice... I believe it's essential information. The difference in Room charges was refunded in cash. It has been educational.

    Great service, unbeatable value for money Stays.

    We stayed with three generations of our family at the end of the year, and everyone had a pleasant time. Multiple groups arrived simultaneously using the Shuttle Service, but check-in was relatively smooth. The buffet meals were constantly replenished, and the staff efficiently cleared used dishes at the right time. Although the building shows signs of use, it was clean everywhere, and even in the snow, the entire hallway was warm and comfortable (we didn't need socks). The room maintained its renovated cleanliness, and the De'Longhi kettle was cute and easy to use, showing attention to detail for a comfortable stay. Before our stay, we didn't have high expectations based on the photos, but we were very satisfied. During the New Year holidays, it's hard to enjoy without a car, so next time, we plan to bring games with us.

    Repeat stay.

    I have used this property several times for family trips. Last year, my mother couldn't visit due to a fracture, but she was able to move around in a wheelchair, and the hotel provided a wheelchair, allowing us to enjoy a family trip. However, there were few parking spaces for the disabled, so we parked outside the designated area. The staff was kind, and the room and onsen were clean, allowing us to relax comfortably. The variety of food was very abundant, and we couldn't eat everything. The taste of the dishes was delicious and satisfying. The only disappointment was that the quality of the sushi toppings had declined compared to before, which was unfortunate as we liked the sushi. The steak was also good as it was freshly grilled, but it lacked juiciness, which was disappointing. If possible, how about adding another plate of steak, providing one plate per person, and offering tender, juicy meat? The buffet started at 18:30, but it was disappointing that the dessert cakes were out of stock and we couldn't eat them. Overall, we were very satisfied. Lastly, how about preparing one dish that guests find very delicious and satisfying, making them want to come back to eat again? We are satisfied with the service and facilities, and we would like to visit again with our family.

    I was lucky to stay at a great price. Alcohol, mineral water, and soft drinks in the refrigerator were free. However, the buffet meals were ordinary, and there seemed to be a lot of pre-made items.

    It was good, but

    The bath and the private bath were very nice. Dinner was delicious, and the Room was very clean and satisfying. However, breakfast was full, and there was a long line, so I couldn't eat, which was very disappointing.

    I stayed in a room with an open-air bath, but the bath water was unnecessarily hot, and the shower water pressure was very weak, which was frustrating.

    It is a calming inn.

    We used this place as a group of three for a girls' night. We were able to relax in a room with three beds, a 6-tatami mat Japanese-style room, and a 6-tatami mat reception area. The dinner was plentiful and delicious, with an all-you-can-drink option, which was very satisfying! I think it would be great to bring kids if there were arcade games or something to play with inside the facility. There were two bath areas, one on the first floor and one on the second floor. It's a calm hotel, and I recommend it for adults.

    The meals are

    There is a bus pick-up from Jomo-Kogen Station. I stayed in a room with an open-air bath, and the flowing bath was nice. It is located by the lake, and at night, it is quiet without the sound of cars. I stayed on a high floor, and the moon rising over the mountains visible from the window was atmospheric. However, the only downside was the food. While it's nice that the buffet allows unlimited rice servings, despite claiming to use Niigata rice, the taste was no different from the rice served at a local diner, which was disappointing. Other than the food, I was satisfied.
