    We stayed with my so...

    We stayed with my son’s family—six of us in two Rooms. There was a free shaved-ice service in the arrival lobby, which delighted the kids. The Room was spacious and comfortable. The only drawback was that we couldn’t adjust the air-conditioning temperature very well, but everything else was fine. The large Onsen public bath was also spacious, and we were able to relax and enjoy the Onsen. It may have been a circulated bath, as there was a slight chlorine smell, but there was also a sauna and we had a pleasant stay. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style for the first time in a while. Dinner offered all-you-can-eat sushi, sashimi, sukiyaki, steak, and more; breakfast was also very tasty, including local ingredients. I think this is a great Ryokan where three generations can enjoy themselves and everyone can be satisfied.

    A warm, traditional Accommodation preserved in its original style

    My daughter and I stayed here together this time. Since she was a baby, our family visited this Accommodation twice a year—summer and winter—for over 15 years without fail, so it brings back many fond memories. We hadn’t been able to come for some time, so this was our first visit in a while. The parents who used to bring me here have since passed away, and now it’s just the two of us—my daughter in her late 20s and me—but we were deeply moved by the same warm hospitality from the staff as always. The Hotel building and Facilities have been carefully maintained so well that it hardly feels like time has passed, and one of the two large public baths has even been renovated. We were truly happy to find that everything still felt just as we remembered. You can tell how thoughtfully this place is run while preserving its traditional charm. From now on, we’ll make it our annual tradition again. Please stay just as you are.

    What’s good never changes.

    Stayed for the first time in two years to run the Minamiuonuma Gourmet Marathon. They say that “nothing has changed” actually means it’s being continuously updated. A clean Accommodation with attentive service down to every detail.

    The ReFa room is great!

    The ReFa room features all-wood flooring and is bright, clean, and relaxing, with a partition door that creates a calm space. In the morning, the birdsong was soothing, and we were able to enjoy the Onsen privately both at night and in the morning. All of the staff were kind and courteous. The breakfast buffet was fairly standard, but the freshly made rice balls prepared on the spot were delicious. We stayed here to visit Kiyotsu Gorge this time, but unfortunately we couldn’t go to Alpu no Sato because it hadn’t opened yet... We’d love to visit again someday.

    Perfect for a Golden Week road trip.

    We stayed here on the second night of our Golden Week road trip, and we were able to relax comfortably after enjoying the great hot spring bath. Although the Facility feels a bit dated, the room was kept clean, and we enjoyed a wide variety of dishes for both dinner and breakfast. We also had a great time sightseeing at Kiyotsu Gorge on the third day.

    It was an excellent stay.

    We went to Echigo-Yuzawa to see snow for our child’s birthday. When we made our Reservation, the Room was not secured due to reasons beyond the Hotel’s control, but they kindly called us, explained the situation, and arranged another Room for us. From the moment we arrived, the Hotel staff were very thoughtful, and their warm, natural service was wonderful. They also upgraded our Room, and our child was thrilled with how great it was. The baths were excellent as well—the open-air bath while looking at the snowy scenery felt amazing. The food was also very delicious. Above all, everyone who works there provided outstanding service, and it has become a Hotel we truly love. Next time, we would like to stay in spring or summer.

    Onsen Ryokan in a prime location near the station

    This Onsen Ryokan is in an excellent location, just a 3-minute walk from Echigo-Yuzawa Station. The Onsen building is a spacious separate wing, with two open-air baths—a jacuzzi and a rock bath—so you can fully enjoy the Onsen. Meals are served as a buffet at the dining area, with a wide variety of dishes and high satisfaction overall. Our Room was in the South Wing, and it seems to have been recently renovated; it was barrier-free, with modern water facilities, clean and comfortable. However, perhaps due to the central air conditioning throughout the building, the Room was very dry and it irritated my throat.

    Great value for money

    Not the most luxurious, but offers satisfaction beyond its price. The buffet is exceptional, especially the rice. The steak is exquisite, and all seafood, fried dishes, and everything tasted are delicious. There were even some items I couldn't try due to the variety. It gets quite crowded, so it's perfect for those who can wait patiently. Conveniently located near Echigo-Yuzawa Station with easy access to its commercial facilities (though the steep slope in front of the Hotel can be a bit challenging).

    It was a good accommodation.

    The facility itself seems to be an older building, but it was well-cleaned, and I did not feel its age inside. The bath, meals, and facilities offered excellent value for the accommodation cost. Additionally, the staff at the front desk were very professional, and the employees seemed well-trained, allowing me to enjoy a worry-free multiple night stay. Next time, I would like to stay with three generations of my family.

    Both meals and Onsen are satisfying.

    It was very crowded during the Obon season, but the dinner time slots and variety of menu options were satisfying. The sashimi and grilled scallops were delicious. Especially for breakfast, the made-to-order rice balls with chosen ingredients were incredibly tasty. The Room was spacious and very comfortable. I would love to visit this Hotel again.

    It was relaxing.

    From the warm welcome at the entrance upon arrival to the heartfelt hospitality of all staff until departure, everything was incredibly comfortable. The bath was amazing as well. Seeing many little yellow ducks floating where the water flows into the tub brought a smile to my face. I was impressed by the variety of shampoos available in different shower booths and four types at a shampoo bar, which I couldn't resist using both at night and in the morning. The Onsen water was also excellent. The meals were of such high quality that it didn’t feel like a buffet; every dish was absolutely delicious. The room was impeccably clean, making our stay very pleasant. However, if I may point out one minor issue: we couldn’t adjust the temperature of the air conditioning in our room and could only choose from three fan speeds—when set to low cooling, it became too cold; when turned off, it got too warm. Since it was during peak season, breakfast had three time slots with 55 minutes per session. Unfortunately, there were long lines at the popular rice ball station—I waited nearly 15 minutes but had to leave without getting what I wanted due to time constraints. Some guests gave up waiting midway through as well. Other than that small inconvenience, everything else exceeded expectations! There’s even a poster along the hallway leading to the bath showcasing recognition from "Top 100 Hotels & Ryokans Chosen by Professionals" (if I recall correctly), which is entirely understandable given their excellence. We take an annual family trip around this time each year; with my son soon entering adulthood and uncertain how long he’ll join us for these trips moving forward—if we have another family trip next year—I would absolutely love to return to this accommodation again! I’ll work hard over this next year so we can make that happen. Thank you very much!

    Great value and conveniently located near the station.

    I visit every summer with my grandchildren. It's a great escape from Tokyo's intense heat, offering cool weather and beautiful mountain views. Nearby, there’s a trout fishing spot and a pool, so even with a 2-night stay, there's plenty to enjoy. The buffet meals are delicious, and the Onsen, including the open-air bath, is clean and relaxing. The staff are kind and make the Hotel very comfortable to stay in. While it may not have the latest facilities, everything is well-maintained, making it an excellent value for money.

    Comfortable Accommodation

    The staff at the accommodation were all very pleasant and made our stay comfortable. The meals were all delicious, and my 3-year-old nephew was thrilled with the variety of his favorite foods. It was very helpful that the futons were prepared before check-in. This is an accommodation we would love to visit again.

    Completely satisfied.

    The nostalgic and calming atmosphere makes it perfect for a solo trip as a senior woman. It takes only 2 hours door-to-door from my home in Tokyo, so it's great to have a place I can book on the same day when I feel like relaxing in a nice bath and enjoying delicious food without the hassle of cooking.

    Buffet

    We stayed for two nights as a couple, and overall, it was great. However, on the second night during the dinner buffet, we were put off by overly pushy service. Despite it being a buffet, a trainee staff member insisted on what we should or shouldn't eat and even went so far as to touch my partner while making comments. If not for that incident, this would truly be an excellent Hotel.

    The cleanliness of the room and bathroom allowed us to have a comfortable stay, which we truly appreciated. Thanks to the kind and helpful reception staff and team, we were able to enjoy skiing with our child for three days. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

    I stayed on the executive floor.

    We visited as a family to let the children enjoy playing in the snow. A Hotel near the station, visible from the Shinkansen platform. The building is quite old, but the exceptional service more than made up for it, and we felt it was a great choice in the end. We would love to visit again. Since it was a weekday and seemed less crowded, we were upgraded to the 7th floor "VIP Room" floor. The Room was very spacious, with luxurious lighting, and the children were thrilled. It seems that insects can sometimes enter through gaps, which might be unavoidable. We had both dinner and breakfast at the Hotel's buffet. For dinner, there were stations where sushi was freshly prepared and steaks were grilled, and for breakfast, there was a corner where rice balls were made on the spot. Personally, I found the hot pot to be incredibly delicious. By the way, perhaps because it was the Lunar New Year season, most of the other guests seemed to be inbound tourists.

    Hotel suitable for sightseeing

    Access is very good. I used this Hotel to see the autumn leaves. There are many ropeways nearby, and you can purchase discount tickets within the Hotel. Guests arriving by car can walk to the station, where they can enjoy souvenir shops and sake tasting at Ponshukan. The Hotel feels a bit old, but the staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. Unfortunately, I reserved a private bath for an additional fee, but the water was lukewarm. It felt more like a heated pool than an Onsen, which was surprising. I wished it was hotter. The water in the large public bath was definitely hotter.

    Couple's Trip

    We stayed for one night with two meals on our way to Kusatsu Onsen for a couple's trip, and the sparkling beer after the bath was delicious. Other services were average.

    It was very good.

    They contacted us before our visit, which was very courteous. The staff provided excellent service and were very pleasant. For dinner, as it was a celebration, they prepared a quiet window-side table for us, and although it was a buffet, we were able to enjoy it at a leisurely pace. Thank you also for the red and white glass wine at that time. The dinner and breakfast buffets offered a wide variety of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, all of which were delicious. At breakfast, we also had small rice balls, which were very tasty. The Room was old but was cleaned nicely. Although it could be compensated with an air purifier, I think it would have been nice to have a screen door to let in the outside air. Both baths were clean, and the larger one had two open-air baths and a sauna, making it spacious. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    I would like to stay again.

    It was a truly wonderful hotel! All the hotel staff were kind and greeted us with smiles. The breakfast and dinner buffets were all very delicious, and I felt that the ingredients were carefully selected. The freshly harvested rice was really tasty, and the breakfast rice balls were especially excellent. There were a wide variety of other menu items and desserts, and it was a real shame that I couldn't try everything. The hot spring was spacious and clean, and since we were given a corner room, it was very large and even had a massage chair, allowing our family to relax. All the other guests seemed to be having a great time, and I thought it was a hotel with a very high satisfaction rate across all generations. We were already talking with my family during our stay about wanting to come back during this season, and I'm looking forward to visiting again.

    A comfortable place I want to revisit.

    We stayed for two nights on a family trip. The location is convenient as it is close to the station. The buffet had a wide variety, and the rice balls in the morning and the dishes at night were delicious, which made the kids very satisfied. The provision of plastic gloves and attention to hygiene were excellent. The bath was clean, and the hot water was perfect for me as I like it hotter. Above all, the service from the staff was friendly and wonderful. Although the room was a bit dated due to the cheap plan, it was not inconvenient. It was a lovely inn that makes me want to stay again.
