  It was a nearby summer retreat inn that satisfied us in every way.

  Seeking a cool nearby Accommodation, we visited Shigisan Jusan-ya. They often host lunch banquets for visitors to Chogosonshi-ji Temple, so on Sunday night we were the only guests and had the place to ourselves. We made a Reservation for the largest Room and the best meal plan. Walking barefoot around the building felt especially pleasant in this season. The Room was flawless, and every dish was excellent—great flavor, quality ingredients, and beautiful presentation. You could really feel the chef’s pride, and both my wife and I finished everything. A perfect 100 out of 100. We heard Shigisan is wonderful for cherry blossoms and autumn leaves as well, so we may come again in spring or fall. On the way there we approached from the west side of Shigisan and ended up taking some very narrow local roads; it was an interesting reminder that people live even in places like that. We also felt an extra sense of connection after learning that one of the attendants went to the same junior high school as I did (though she seemed much younger), which made our time there even more enjoyable. Breakfast was also elaborate with many carefully prepared items—we were completely satisfied. Thank you very much to everyone.

  The property was wonderful, with the hostess and all the staff being attentive and considerate. We are truly grateful for accommodating our unreasonable requests. The room and hallway were well-maintained, and the garden exuded a dignified beauty. Thank you for taking care of us.
