    When I entered the R...

    When I entered the Room, there were other guests inside. A staff member from the front desk came right away and moved us to the next Room and gave us a boxed gift of sweets, but I was sad because the people I was traveling with were disappointed. The bath was only on the rooftop and it was not a scenic-view bath. The Onsen water was good. Breakfast only: even for the shirasu rice bowl, we had to line up and make it ourselves, and it was a full buffet rather than a half-buffet.

    Accommodation with exceptional hospitality

    This was our second stay in 11 years. The open atrium was truly impressive. Located right behind the Dogo Onsen Main Building, the location is excellent. The front desk offers a 24-hour coffee corner, which is very relaxing. From 3 PM to around 7 PM, there is a free drink corner with highballs and juice on the third floor. As it was for a special occasion and being an IKYU Diamond Member, we were grateful for the room upgrade. The Iyo beef served at dinner was unforgettable—just one more slice would have been perfect (there were two slices). The open-air bath on the top floor offered stunning views of the blue sky, moon, and Matsuyama City below; the hot water was wonderfully warming. Thanks to the efforts of both the manager and hostess, all staff members were kind and attentive. It has transformed into a warm-hearted Ryokan, which made us very happy. We will definitely choose Hanayuzuki again when visiting Dogo Onsen in the future. It was an amazing trip—thank you!

    First Visit to Dogo Onsen

    First time at Dogo Onsen, the slightly silky water quality, spacious open-air bath, and reclining bath were all very satisfying. The room was a two-room Japanese-style space with beds, making it comfortable for elderly guests. Hot and cold water were provided in the room, offering a warm welcome typical of a traditional accommodation. The pre-dinner highball was a lucky treat to quench our thirst. Dinner featured two types of sea bream rice (cooked and sashimi with egg yolk), which met our expectations perfectly and left us very satisfied. If I may add one wish—it would have been nice to have sea bream rice for breakfast as well! Since we arrived late at 5 PM, parking was off-site, which caused some confusion.

    Great location

    Located close to Dogo Onsen Station and just a few minutes' walk from the Dogo Onsen Main Building, this property offers an excellent location for enjoying evening strolls. While the building is old, the interior has been beautifully renovated. The Room features tatami flooring with beds, allowing guests to relax comfortably without shoes. The Onsen had a perfect temperature and could be enjoyed multiple times. Though not luxurious, it provides a great base for fully experiencing Dogo Onsen.

    Conveniently located...

    Conveniently located near Dogo Onsen Honkan, Haikara Street, and Dogo Onsen Station, making it easy to take strolls for souvenir shopping. The rooftop bath (with an open-air bath) is a wonderful feature. However, parking spaces are limited and can be difficult to use if arriving late.

    Great!

    The staff at the luggage reception seemed unfriendly and a bit intimidating. I was looking forward to the shirasu rice bowl for breakfast, but unfortunately, it was unavailable, possibly because I went late. Other than that, the interior felt newer and cleaner compared to the exterior appearance of the building. I thoroughly enjoyed staying in a Room with a foot bath.

    Iyo Beef!!!

    The location is excellent, being close to the Dogo Onsen Main Building, and I was able to enjoy several Onsen spots, leaving my skin smooth. The dinner comparison of Iyo beef and Hime pork was delightful, with the Iyo beef being very tender and delicious. I wished there were more than just two slices of Iyo beef. The half-buffet for breakfast and dinner offered a wide variety, but the method for making tai-meshi was a bit unclear. The Room was clean, making it a fun trip! Thank you very much!

    An old-style hot spring inn

    Near Dogo Onsen Honkan. I had a reservation for 3:00 PM, and when I arrived in the morning, I was told I could check in around 2:30 PM. However, when I arrived at 2:30 PM, I was made to wait even though there were no other guests. I wish they had just told me 3:00 PM from the start.

    The dinner was good.

    There were plenty of local dishes in the half-buffet, which was great.
