The Onsen is truly exceptional.
Overall, I think it’s a good Accommodation. Above all, the Kusatsu hot springs are wonderful. There are various baths, but having a normally hot bath and a lukewarm bath, plus a sauna and a cold plunge pool, is more than enough. The Room was nice, but because of heavy rain there was a metal roof just outside the window, and it was noisy. The breakfast buffet tastes average, but the layout/flow isn’t well organized, so unless guests are considerate of each other it can get frustrating. It’s nice that they make rice balls by hand and shape them live. Also, the entire Accommodation smelled of cigarette smoke—especially the elevator. Some of that may be unavoidable, but compared with other places I felt the smell was stronger here. It also seems like staff try not to interact much with guests, which comes across as somewhat unfriendly.

Accommodation with a Sulfur Scent in the Air
The easy-to-use private open-air bath and several types of Onsen made bathing enjoyable. The meals—kaiseki and buffet—with free drinks were satisfying.

Repeat Stay
I’ve stayed here many times, and I’m always very satisfied. The Onsen here is especially great. I often use Kyoritsu accommodations, and if I had to mention one thing, the late-night ramen service can feel crowded during its hours. Still, it’s within an acceptable range.

The Onsen was great.
I stayed for one night because I had long wanted to visit Kusatsu. Unfortunately, the meals were disappointing. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, and it was nice to be able to compare different alcoholic drinks, but the rice didn’t feel freshly cooked and was rather firm. To be honest, I didn’t find each dish particularly “delicious.” I don’t mind paying for alcohol (soft drinks are fine as they are), so if you could focus more on quality, it would make the trip even more enjoyable. With high expectations, I’m leaving this comment—slightly critical. Aside from the food, I think this is a very good Accommodation.

Ultimate relaxation and an escape from everyday life
This Accommodation’s Onsen was simply outstanding. The large public bath is divided into “Toki-no-Yu” and “Inishie-no-Yu,” and there are so many options—including indoor baths and open-air baths—that you can’t enjoy them all in just one night. There’s also a sauna, so it’s highly recommended for anyone who wants to sweat and unwind. Another small delight is the complimentary drink (Yakult) provided after your bath. Our Room had twin beds. It wasn’t huge, but it was calm and relaxing. When we opened the window early in the morning, we could hear birds singing—an experience you don’t usually get in the city center. It was such a wonderful Accommodation that we wanted to extend our stay.

Maybe my expectations were too high.
I was looking forward to this stay because I heard you could enjoy 23 types of Onsen. The Room had stains on the sofa and dirty walls… well, it couldn’t be helped. As for the Onsen, it was almost empty at night, which honestly felt a bit scary. The waterfall bath near the entrance would suddenly start gushing at regular intervals on its own, and when I went to check the stone sauna and steam bath (?), the lights were off. It didn’t feel inviting at all. The open-air bath was also lukewarm, so I couldn’t stay in for long. In the end, I just took a quick dip in the main public bath and that was it. My husband said he was very satisfied, though. The late-night soba service, as well as the coffee and ice cream, were nice. We only added breakfast; in hindsight, I think it was the right choice not to include dinner. I’ve never been disappointed with an IKYU Reservation before, so maybe my expectations were simply too high this time.

Would love to visit again!
Stayed in a Japanese-style twin room with my daughter for two nights. The first surprise was the wide variety of free drinks at dinner! There were many options, including draft beer, sake, and shochu. The individual meal trays were plentiful, and there was also a buffet with side dishes and desserts that were visually delightful. Moreover, the dinner on the second night featured an entirely different menu from the first night. While the breakfast buffet remained the same, grilled horse mackerel was served separately. The Onsen experience was relaxing and very satisfying. A shuttle bus to Yubatake made sightseeing convenient as well. The staff provided kind and attentive service throughout our stay. I would love to visit again!

I had a relaxing and pleasant stay!
We stayed for two nights during the New Year holidays. It was our first time at Konoha, though we have used other accommodations in the same group before. The staff's service was excellent, and their attentiveness was spot on. They were always attentive and checked if we needed any assistance. During meals, everything was all-you-can-drink, which might be great for those who enjoy drinking! If I may make a suggestion: It would be nice if the service hours for light meals and late-night soba could be extended a bit longer. Also, since yukatas ran out quickly, having more available would have been better. We are grateful to have spent such a pleasant New Year holiday!

Relaxing Hotel
Overall, it was a good experience. Perhaps due to the size of the Hotel, moving around for baths and meals was convenient and enjoyable. The entire space being covered with tatami made walking comfortable. This time, we stayed in Kusatsu for 4 nights, and choosing this place for the final night was the right decision. A few things that caught my attention were that the bath and Room felt a bit dark. While it's fine for the bath to be dimly lit, it was disappointing not knowing what type of hot spring water it was. As for the Room, I think it could be slightly brighter. The half-buffet dinner was delightful as I could enjoy my favorite dishes while receiving warm hospitality. However, breakfast leaned towards a healthy or modern health-conscious style with vegetable potage soup and two types of tofu dishes; even drinks included two vinegar-based options. Honestly, I would have preferred fruit juices instead. That said, the dessert compote was excellent. Despite mentioning various points here, I look forward to staying again!

Dinner was excellent!
The small plate buffet had a wide variety and everything was delicious! Very satisfied with the accommodation price. The baths also had many types and were excellent. All the staff were very pleasant, and although I have used other Kyoritsu Resorts, I felt that this one was affordable yet well-maintained overall.

The Onsen was wonderful.
It might be because it was my first time using this accommodation, but I felt there were differences in the level of service. Upon arrival at the ryokan, no one greeted me with a "welcome" even though there were staff members not attending to other guests. At the parking lot, I passed by a male staff member who also said nothing and offered no guidance (this is quite rare). During check-in, guests who arrived after me were attended to first, which left me feeling somewhat downhearted. What I liked was that the interior had tatami flooring and no slippers. The absence of slipper noise was pleasant, and it was nice not having to worry about distinguishing my slippers from others' in places like the large public bath. The best part was definitely the onsen, especially the large public bath—it was excellent. While I enjoyed the private outdoor bath as well, I'm accustomed to accommodations with rooms featuring private open-air baths or reserved baths elsewhere. Even so, just using the large public bath made staying here worthwhile. As for meals, while the buffet dishes felt average overall, it was enjoyable to pair them with all-you-can-drink alcohol and choose only what I liked. The female staff at the dining area seemed considerate about avoiding unpleasant noises when clearing dishes or walking around. Normally I'm not fond of buffets due to frequent movement by people around me; however, this time it didn’t bother me as much as expected. Although I've written some critical points here and there because I love Kusatsu Onsen so much, I'd like to visit again in hopes of an improved experience next time—this review reflects those expectations!

Enjoyed Onsen and meals.
We enjoyed a variety of baths in the Onsen area of Kusatsu. The meals were delightful, featuring shabu-shabu as the main dish along with an array of small plate dishes. The all-you-can-drink option was also great. It’s a wonderful accommodation we’d love to visit again.

First Time in Kusatsu
It was my first trip to Kusatsu, so I did a lot of research before deciding on this place. There are two entrances, but with guidance, I was able to reach the front desk without any confusion. Staying true to the private-focused concept, it felt as relaxing as being at home. Also, the 11:00 AM checkout time allowed me to enjoy my stay without feeling rushed. The baths had a variety of options, and with three private baths available, I didn’t have to wait long. I had both dinner and breakfast here. There was a wide selection of drinks and dishes, which was great! If there’s one thing to mention, it’s that there seemed to be fewer yukata options near the front desk; I ended up borrowing one that didn’t fit well. However, each Room is equipped with its own yukata if you don’t want to borrow one. I’d love to visit again!

It was a great accommodation!
There were many baths to enjoy! The staff was polite, and I felt relaxed. Aside from the lengthy explanation at check-in being a bit tiring, the stay was comfortable! I will visit again!

It was comfortable!
The Onsen had a variety of baths, and we were very satisfied! We visited to celebrate the birth of our first grandchild. Our grandchild was overjoyed to receive a Gunma-chan plush toy as a gift. Thank you very much. The staff were all kind and made us feel comfortable. One thing that bothered us was the overly long explanation at the front desk. After traveling and sightseeing before arriving at the Ryokan, such detailed explanations felt unnecessary as part of hospitality. We wanted to relax quickly, so the lengthy explanation was quite tiresome. Please consider this from the guest's perspective! Other than that, we had a very relaxing stay. We enjoyed plenty of treats like ice cream, Yakult, and Yonaki Soba (late-night noodles). We would love to visit again!

Onsen Paradise
I chose this accommodation for its 23 types of baths, two natural hot spring sources, and all-you-can-drink alcohol during dinner. Although not all 23 baths are Onsen, the gender-swapping system allows guests to enjoy various baths (I tried them all). The private open-air bath was also charming. It tends to be crowded at night, so you may need to wait your turn in the lounge area, but it’s less busy late at night or early in the morning. The baths are accessible almost 24 hours a day, which is great (I managed to try all the private open-air baths too). My skin felt smooth afterward! The buffet meals were served in small portions in individual dishes and were delicious. I especially loved the dipping sauce for the Himokawa Udon—it was so tasty that I went back for seconds multiple times! It had a comforting flavor (I’d love to have it again). The all-you-can-drink alcohol was enjoyable as well, though I wish they had chilled beer glasses. The complimentary services like post-bath ice cream, Yakult drinks, and late-night ramen were excellent touches. The only downside was that the room felt small and slightly damp. The mattress being placed directly on the floor might contribute to trapped moisture. Overall, this accommodation offers exceptional value for money!

Highly satisfied.
The Onsen is wonderful. With natural hot spring water flowing directly from the source and numerous baths, I enjoyed soaking multiple times. The private bath was available, and I used it twice; the rustic charm was truly delightful. At certain times, ice cream, Yakult, and late-night ramen were offered, which added to the enjoyment. I would love to stay here again!

Highly satisfied.
Kyoritsu Resort never disappoints. This was our first stay at Kusatsu "Konoha," and we were extremely satisfied. The highlight was definitely the baths! We enjoyed all types of private baths available. There were plenty of baths, with perfect temperatures that were gentle on the skin and truly relaxing. The food was delicious, and the staff provided kind and thorough explanations, making us feel very welcome. We would love to visit again in the future. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Onsen is the best!
The Onsen was fantastic. Even my husband, who usually bathes only once, woke up early to enjoy the Onsen. The bath area was spacious, so it felt stress-free. The Yakult after the morning Onsen was also delicious. We chose a plan with two meals included; dinner was a semi-buffet style with unlimited alcohol, and the service was excellent. The only disappointment was the tempura—the batter was too thick and felt heavy on the stomach. The room was neither particularly good nor bad. While it showed some age, it was clean and spacious enough.

Enjoy Onsen to the Fullest
Both "Inishie no Yu" and "Toki no Yu" offer a variety of baths with pleasant water quality, providing great satisfaction. Although we stayed for just one night, we enjoyed the baths multiple times. The changing rooms were well-maintained and clean. The half-buffet dinner and buffet breakfast featured an abundance of delicious dishes made with local ingredients, leaving us very satisfied. Additionally, the staff at the front desk, dining area, and bath facilities worked efficiently and left a positive impression. The tatami flooring throughout the facility meant there was no need for slippers, which was very convenient. However, it was disappointing that yukata rentals were on a first-come-first-served basis and had run out by 3:30 PM. Overall though, we had a relaxing stay. Thank you for your hospitality!

The accommodation has a wonderful atmosphere, and I would love to stay here again. The instructions for setting the small safe in the changing room were hard to read due to the small font size, so it would be helpful if they could be made more legible (considering many people might remove their glasses or contact lenses in the bath). The exterior is very beautiful, and I believe many guests would like to take photos with the entrance as a backdrop. It would be great if staff could be near the entrance during busy checkout times so guests can ask for help with taking photos. All of the staff at the dining area and rest areas were very pleasant. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

The Onsen was excellent.
This was my first stay, and I was impressed that this accommodation offers an exceptional Onsen experience. The post-bath ice cream and Yakult, as well as the late-night soba noodles unique to Kyoritsu Resort, were delightful. Additionally, the all-you-can-drink alcohol during dinner was a great touch. The meals were decent overall. Above all, the Onsen was fantastic, and the open-air bath was truly outstanding and amazing.

It was a great Onsen.
I had a fulfilling time at the onsen, but I was dissatisfied with the dinner schedule. Although I arrived at 3:00 PM, only late dining times were available. If arriving early at 3:00 PM still doesn't allow for an earlier dining time, it would be better to offer options through the plan or ensure fairness in some way. If only late dining times are available, I wouldn't have made the reservation in the first place. The initial dishes served during dinner were not very impressive; perhaps switching to a full buffet style would be better. Alternatively, reducing the number of dishes and focusing on one or two truly delicious items might improve the experience. Everything else was great, so it's unfortunate this aspect fell short. Thank you!

Onsen is the best!
First stay at this accommodation. We used it for a long-awaited family trip. The Onsen was absolutely amazing! Even our daughters, now university students, were thrilled with how smooth and soft their skin felt afterward. The ice cream after the bath, the always-available hot coffee, and barley tea were delightful touches. There were relaxing spaces outside of the room as well, with thoughtful amenities that allowed us to fully enjoy a leisurely summer vacation. Come to think of it, I remembered staying at a Kyoritsu Resort in Arashiyama, Kyoto before. Now I feel like visiting other accommodations in the same group!

It was a truly wonderful accommodation.
Meals include kaiseki and a half-buffet, with unlimited alcoholic and soft drinks. There are plenty of baths to enjoy, allowing you to relax fully from check-in to check-out! At the rest area, free drinks and ice cream are available, and the Room was spacious and clean. I will definitely stay here again when I travel to Kusatsu! Thank you very much.

Dinner
Dinner included pork teppanyaki, but the portion was too large to finish. It would be better to serve high-quality beef, even just one or two thin slices, for a more enjoyable meal. Focusing on quality over quantity would enhance the experience, especially since half of the meal is buffet-style.

It was excellent.
This was my first time staying here, and I was completely satisfied with the room, onsen, meals, staff, and accommodation cost—everything about this hotel was perfect! However, one small disappointment was an employee (in a dress shirt and slacks) who seemed to be supervising a uniformed part-time staff member. They were blocking the hallway and did not greet or move aside when we passed by, which was slightly frustrating as we were carrying heavy luggage. On the other hand, the part-time staff greeted us warmly. As someone working in the food service industry myself, I tend to notice these small details. While all of your staff members were exceptionally pleasant overall, it felt unfortunate that someone in a supervisory position behaved this way. That said, the hotel itself was absolutely wonderful—I will definitely stay here again!

There are various types of Onsen, allowing for a relaxing experience. The food included a buffet-style option, letting guests choose their favorites, which was satisfying. However, the Facility had some issues; the equipment in the guest room was broken with protruding screws that caused injury. The refrigerator door interfered with the tatami mat and was difficult to open, along with other noticeable damages and wear. Although the price was reasonable, it did not meet expectations as much as anticipated.

The interior is quiet and serene.
Dinner was quite ordinary. There was a wide variety of alcoholic beverages, and many dishes paired well with them, though some felt a bit high in calories. I expected more traditional Japanese cuisine since it’s a Ryokan, but it didn’t fully meet my expectations. I wanted coffee after dinner, but unfortunately, it wasn’t available. On the other hand, breakfast featured many traditional Japanese dishes that I enjoyed. The fried eggplant dish was particularly delicious. Coffee was available in the morning. The Onsen was small but not crowded, allowing for a relaxing experience. The bath where you can lie down felt luxurious. The complimentary ice cream after bathing was a delightful touch. The late-night ramen served from 10 PM was exceptional. I shared it with my family but wished I had saved more room for it. The room was quite compact and showed signs of age. The bathroom area could feel cleaner with less wooden decor. It was very quiet as no sounds from neighboring rooms or outside could be heard due to the secluded location—perfect for relaxation. Having SS-sized samue (traditional loungewear) available ensured a perfect fit and added comfort during the stay. Although there were no indoor slippers provided, tabi socks were available and made moving around comfortable.
