I was able to relax and unwind.

Lately, even when traveling as a couple, we often prioritized sightseeing, so this time we made a Reservation to enjoy spending time at the Accommodation. After entering our Room, we didn’t go out at all, and it was relaxing to spend the day however we liked—having tea and soaking in the Onsen.

A Cozy Accommodation for Solo Travelers

I stayed solo and felt comfortable, with an atmosphere where I could relax without worrying about others. It was a luxury to soak in the Room’s semi-open-air bath several times and spend the time before dinner at a leisurely pace. The meals also featured seasonal flavors, and I was very satisfied.

    A Holiday Spent in Nature

I usually choose a Hotel, but this time I made a Reservation to stay at an Onsen Ryokan. My girlfriend especially loved the Onsen, and I really enjoyed relaxing in the Room, so it was great that we could each spend our time the way we liked. Dinner had just the right number of dishes, and everything was delicious to the end. We had to walk a little from the parking lot to the entrance, but otherwise it was very comfortable, and we’d like to stay again in a different season.

I had a luxurious time with my friends!

We chose this property because every Room has an open-air bath, and the one in our Room was more spacious than expected—plenty of room for two to soak and relax. Ureshino’s hot spring water is silky and smooth, and we could really feel the difference in our skin the next morning. Dinner struck a great balance between hearty satisfaction and refinement, especially the A5 Imari beef grilled on a ceramic plate. With the gentle sound of the Ureshino River in the background, we were able to enjoy unhurried conversation.

My parents were happy too, and overall it was great.

Key points: - The in-room open-air bath features free-flowing natural Onsen water with excellent quality. - A private bath can be reserved separately. - The kaiseki dinner offers both satisfying quantity and quality. - The lounge sofas are comfortable, making it easy to relax and pass the time. - The Accommodation is quiet overall, so you can unwind without feeling drained. This Accommodation is ideal for guests who want to fully enjoy the Onsen and dining at a leisurely pace.

    Clear for couples

Work had kept me so busy that I hadn’t been able to truly relax, so I decided to take a trip and chose this Accommodation. Because it is an Accommodation along the Ureshino River, I could feel the flow of the river from my Room. It was a quiet space where I could enjoy nature. I used the open-air bath twice. I had high expectations after hearing it’s one of Japan’s three famous hot springs for beautiful skin, and the pleasantly silky texture was even better than I imagined—I was very satisfied. The staff were also kind in a subtle way, never overbearing. It turned into a wonderful trip.

It was great that it wasn’t too big!

A trip with my mother. Perhaps because there aren’t many Rooms, the atmosphere inside the property was quiet and relaxing. My mother and I both love open-air baths at this time of year, so we’re glad we chose this place! We also loved the water quality—it made us want to soak again and again.

    A Quiet One-Night Stay

We stayed as a couple. The Onsen town had a calm atmosphere, and the Accommodation was not noisy, so we could relax with peace of mind. We used the open-air bath in our room both at night and in the morning. It was great to be able to soak without worrying about the time. The water had that characteristic Ureshino smoothness, and it felt like it left our skin nicely moisturized. Dinner featured carefully prepared Japanese cuisine, seasoned just the way we like it. We think this is an ideal Accommodation for a quiet, relaxing stay.

I stayed here while the cold wave was still lingering.

Honestly, it was quite cold outside, which made the Onsen feel even more rewarding. Hana no Shizuku’s bath is a bit unique. It has that pleasantly thick, silky texture. The moment I soaked up to my shoulders, it felt like it gently wrapped around my skin. Dinner was a kaiseki course featuring mostly local ingredients. The portions weren’t too heavy, which was nice since I didn’t feel weighed down the next morning. As it was before the peak sightseeing season, the property was calm and quiet—this time of year may be ideal for those looking for a peaceful stay.

Does not meet the standards of a Ryokan.

Check-in: Reception was handled by a foreign part-time worker, only seen that day, in a room with no lights. Somehow managed. Facilities: The entire hotel lacked proper heating, especially the hallways which were extremely cold. The building is quite old, and the elevator was out of order. There were hardly any full-time staff; mostly daily part-timers who provided no detailed explanations and could not answer questions. Room: At first glance, it looked clean due to renovations but was covered in dust and poorly cleaned. No glasses were provided—only paper cups. The refrigerator barely worked and couldn’t chill drinks (luckily it was winter). Glass windows and tables were greasy with stains. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned at all; the water just circulated without being freshened up. The glass walls of the bath had grease stains as well. Outdoor Bath: Too cold to enjoy, and cleaning wasn’t done here either—the floor was slimy despite being a simple hot spring with normally smooth water. The sauna’s boiler switch wasn’t turned on until an hour after entering the bath area. Sauna chair mats had black mold—unclear when they were last replaced. Shower rooms are located separately, which is inconvenient (though tolerable). No towels or other amenities provided; no emergency phone available. Meals: Even for Multiple Night Stays, meals remained exactly the same every day. While taste can be overlooked, the rice seemed like old stock—not fresh at all—and nothing like new harvest rice should be. Dining areas were also very cold during meals; eating became unpleasant for those staying multiple nights. Other Notes: Amenities such as razors, brushes, socks (tabi), etc., must be picked up individually from near reception—similar to a Business Hotel setup. Overall Thoughts: It seems they are cutting costs wherever possible—rooms are too dark and too cold due to energy-saving measures—and there’s insufficient staff for proper cleaning or guest care. It felt like guests weren’t valued at all—I even saw complaints from others during my stay. This vicious cycle makes me wonder about their future operations—it seems likely they’re facing severe financial difficulties. Despite paying such high rates for my stay, what I received felt worth only one-third of that value. I would never consider staying here again!

    The service at this ...

The service at this accommodation was the lowest among all the accommodations I have used so far. Upon arrival, my room was changed and they called it an upgrade, but I neither requested it nor was informed in advance. The meal times and contents were different from what was listed on IKYU.com, and their response to these issues lacked any sense of apology, leaving me quite disappointed with my stay. In the morning, the room bath water was lukewarm, making it uncomfortably cold during winter—so much so that I couldn't help but laugh at how disappointing it was. The only positive aspect might have been the taste of the meals, but overall, this is not an accommodation I can recommend.

It was not a natural hot spring flow.

Opening Plan - Hana no Shizuku Standard Plan: Luxurious Kaiseki & Natural Flowing Onsen Plan was booked, but it turned out to be a circulated system. The Room had no direct phone line to the front desk, and communication was only available via QR code chat. I booked the Opening Plan - Hana no Shizuku Standard Plan: Luxurious Kaiseki & Natural Flowing Onsen, but I was informed it was a circulated system. What does this mean? Are there no other natural flowing onsen rooms? I sent this inquiry via chat but received no response. Since there was no progress, I went directly to the front desk and informed them about my chat message, but they seemed unaware of it and told me to speak with a Japanese staff member who would be available tomorrow. In the end, even at checkout, I couldn’t speak with any Japanese staff due to reasons like "headache." The response lacked sincerity entirely. Amenities were self-service like in a Business Hotel; there were no complimentary water bottles in the Room either—I was told to purchase from vending machines instead. At 11 PM, the entrance is locked and the front desk becomes unmanned. As mentioned in another review dated September 7th, 2025, elevators are still out of order; climbing stairs became necessary. The public bath is located on the first floor; mixed bathing requires swimsuits (free rental swimsuits are available). However: - No clock or valuables locker in changing rooms. - No bath towels or hand towels provided. - Sauna present but without water dispensers. Meals were delicious; however: - Alcohol options were extremely limited. - Sake wasn’t listed on menus except for one option—Munemasa Honjozo cold sake—which I ordered. - Wine choices included only red or white by glass; sparkling wine unavailable. Despite trusting IKYU’s natural flowing Onsen plan when making my Reservation through IKYU.com—it ended up being disappointing. Even their official website boldly claims you can enjoy beautifying hot springs as they naturally flow from their source. This issue affects IKYU's credibility—please investigate thoroughly and immediately rename misleading Plans so that future guests do not face similar disappointments again!

    Relaxing Solo Trip

A welcoming accommodation for solo travelers. The room has Wi-Fi, allowing you to organize work in the evening before heading to the onsen. It was perfect for switching gears. The beef dishes were of higher quality than expected, and considering the price, the satisfaction level was high. The staff provided a straightforward service, letting me enjoy my stay at my own pace.

Used for a couple's birthday celebration

This trip was for my wife's birthday. When I informed them in advance, they provided a small service during dinner, which was very touching. The Room was a Japanese-Western style, spacious and clean. The lighting was calm and created a nice atmosphere. The experience of looking up at the night sky while soaking in the open-air bath is unforgettable. I could relax until the very end, even up to the morning checkout time.

The value for money exceeded expectations.

The cuisine, service, and onsen were all of a high standard. Especially the meals, each dish was carefully presented and visually enjoyable. The bath had an incredibly soft water quality, and my skin felt noticeably different the next morning. This is an accommodation that cannot be judged by cost-performance alone.

    An Onsen Trip for Adults

We stayed at the accommodation recently for our wedding anniversary. The atmosphere allowed for relaxed conversations, making it a pleasant time. The cuisine featured a kaiseki meal with Imari beef and locally sourced ingredients, showcasing thoughtful menu planning. The balance of the onsen, cuisine, and service was excellent.

    Stay with friends from overseas

It was the perfect place to experience Japanese culture! The atmosphere of the building, the quality of the Onsen water, and the deliciousness and presentation of the food impressed my friends as well! I felt it truly embodied the spirit of "hospitality" that resonates even with international guests!

    It was relaxing.

Quiet and clean, with attentive and polite staff. Time flew by as we enjoyed conversations in the open-air bath. Each dish was carefully prepared, and the tender meat left a lasting impression. It was a truly relaxing trip that allowed us to forget the hustle and bustle of daily life.

I recently stayed at the accommodation as a surprise birthday gift for my husband. Despite the rain, we were warmly welcomed with umbrellas. The front desk staff provided excellent service, and the dining staff were also exceptional. My husband was very pleased. Thank you so much for everything! We would love to visit again.

A Relaxing and Luxurious Trip with Mom Friends

A one-night trip with three mom friends as a reward for daily parenting. It’s been such a long time since we had adult-only time without kids. We enjoyed chatting and relaxing in the private bath. For dinner, we could finally focus on the meal in a calm atmosphere—such a treat! The Facility was clean and perfect for a stay with female friends. We’re already talking about coming back with this group again!

    Even the parents were impressed.

I stayed at this accommodation for the first time with my parents after returning to my hometown. I had known the name for a long time, but visiting in person, I was impressed by the sophisticated space and warm hospitality. My parents were also very satisfied with the silky waters of Ureshino Onsen, and we had a wonderful time catching up after so long. This is an accommodation I can confidently recommend as a local!
