A very wonderful and comfortable accommodation
It was a truly relaxing experience. The view from the room was spectacular. The bath was an open-air bath surrounded by the forest, offering a heavenly experience. You can enjoy different types of baths with unique atmospheres. At night, you can marvel at the star-filled sky. Meals featured an abundance of local ingredients from the prefecture, and drinks were reasonably priced. I had an amazing time and would love to visit this accommodation again. Iwate is vast, and there are still so many places I want to explore!

Overall satisfied!
We stayed on August 13th, the first day of our family trip to Tohoku. Since my father and I have difficulty walking, we requested a Japanese-Western style room. The room was conveniently located right near the elevator on a high floor with a great view of Mt. Iwate, and it was spacious enough for us to relax. The bath had handrails and smooth hot water, while the meals were plentiful and delicious. For dinner, we enjoyed dishes like Iwate beef grilled on a ceramic plate and tomato hot pot. Although it was a kaiseki-style meal, they kindly brought rice whenever we wanted instead of serving it last, which was very thoughtful for our children as well. Breakfast also featured shabu-shabu with Iwate beef—a big plus—and since Koiwai Farm is nearby, the milk was exceptionally fresh and tasty. The only downside was the large number of horseflies during our stay. While this seems to be a natural phenomenon beyond control, staff members tried their best by fanning them away when getting in or out of cars; however, there were so many that it felt slightly overwhelming. Other than that issue, we were generally satisfied with our stay. We hope to visit again during a season without horseflies!

We enjoyed a refreshing summer.
We visited as a family of three, including our 4-year-old child, during the summer vacation. The entire interior of the accommodation is surrounded by wood, and from the windows, we enjoyed breathtaking views of Mt. Iwate and lush green forests—truly a wonderful stay. The meals were incredibly delicious, with a great selection of local sake that made pairing with dinner enjoyable. The breakfast was also impressive with flavorful miso soup featuring seaweed, delicious rice, and a variety of Matsumae pickles. There are two types of baths: "Mori no Yu" (Forest Bath), surrounded by greenery where we relaxed to the sound of cicadas in the evening; and "Tenku no Yu" (Sky Bath), which we enjoyed early in the morning while taking in stunning views of Mt. Iwate at sunrise. The kids' corner was compact yet filled with wooden toys and picture books that kept our child thoroughly entertained—we were very satisfied! This is an accommodation we would love to visit again!

Thank you very much.
It was a quiet and peaceful Facility. It's hard to put into words, but the relaxed atmosphere without trying too hard was wonderful. I could enjoy my stay without wishing for anything to be different. Perhaps it helped that there were no children as it was before the summer holidays, but the kindness extended to us also made a big difference. I was able to spend my precious vacation leisurely. From Ten no Yu, enjoy the view of the blue sky and Mount Iwate, and relax in the forest bath surrounded by greenery.
A stylish concrete building with a bright and relaxing lobby and library featuring abundant use of Oya stone and wood. From the room window, I could see Mount Iwate against the blue sky, which was truly moving. At "Ten no Yu," I was overwhelmed by the expansive view of the blue sky, Mount Iwate, and the lush green forest through the large windows. The photos on IKYU.com must have been taken from this very window! Although there are seasonal differences, the breathtaking beauty in front of me is beyond words. "Mori no Yu" provided a soothing experience surrounded by greenery and the scent of wood. The Onsen water was smooth on my skin, known for its beautifying properties, with a comfortable temperature. For dinner, the simmered eggplant with crab had an indescribable texture and flavor; every dish was rich in dashi broth and absolutely delicious. Although it’s quite a distance to Shizukuishi, I greatly appreciated being provided with shuttle service.

It was a bit early for the cherry blossom season, but...
The pick-up and drop-off service from Shizukuishi Station, as well as the ride to Koiwai Farm, were very helpful. The mountain cherry blossoms finally started blooming, and the katakuri flowers on the premises were stunning. However, due to bear sightings, a walk in the forest was not possible. Even with the Senior Plan offering a large variety of dishes, I couldn't finish everything and felt sorry about it. The soy milk hot pot for dinner was delicious but unfortunately mistimed due to forgetting to light it up initially. The hot pot on the second day was not as impressive. Despite being short-staffed during breakfast buffet service, a dedicated and hospitable woman managed everything alone with great effort; we even said "See you again" when parting ways. I hope to visit again in another season!

Ultimate Comfort
Relaxing in the bath while gazing at the snowy forest was truly soothing for both body and mind. The bed, with its spacious duvet style, allowed for a comfortable and restful sleep. The warm hospitality in every detail made both my mother and me fall even more in love with Yukotan. We look forward to staying again during a different season!
