    I stayed in Dogo Onsen for two nights.

    We originally planned to stay for one night, but because the weather at our next destination didn’t look promising, we decided on a last-minute Multiple Night Stay here. Before staying here, we had been at the Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima, and compared with that, this Hotel felt more family-friendly and enjoyable even with children. It’s a little away from the center of Dogo Onsen, but a free retro-style Shuttle Service bus runs regularly, so the distance hardly bothered us. There is a footbath at the entrance of the Hotel that you can enjoy anytime. In the evening, there was also a festival-style fair held next to the souvenir shop area, which delighted our child. The baths are divided between an indoor bath on the 3rd floor and an open-air bath on the 4th floor. Each has its own atmosphere, and it was great being able to enjoy both. The food was delicious and our whole family was very satisfied. The staff were also courteous, so we could relax and feel comfortable throughout our stay. This last-minute Multiple Night Stay turned out to be absolutely the right choice. When we visit Dogo Onsen as a family again, we would definitely like to stay here again—without question. The Dogo Prince Hotel character “Yutama Prince” greeted us at check-in and saw us off at check-out at the entrance. We hope he keeps up the great work!

    We were very satisfied.

    This was our fourth stay, and this time we stayed in a newly opened guest room that was added this August. The amenities, facilities, spaciousness, balcony open-air bath, and access to the top-floor lounge—everything made us glad we made the Reservation. The staff were all very courteous, and we had a comfortable stay. Dinner was delicious. I didn’t have much of an appetite at breakfast—perhaps because I ate too much the night before—but I felt the menu selection was a little limited. We stayed as a group of three. Although it was only for one night, bedding was prepared in both the Japanese-style and Western-style areas of the room, so we were able to relax very well. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Family-friendly Accommodation

    Overall, the Accommodation felt a bit dated, but it was well maintained and clean. Many areas seemed to have been renovated, and it was very family-friendly. There also seemed to be many guests with children. The kids were happy because they really liked the dinner selection. There was a Shuttle Service to Dogo Onsen Station every 10 minutes, which made it easy to visit Dogo Onsen at night as well. If I had one request—especially in summer—I would have appreciated having a coin laundry on site.

    A 5-Day, 4-Night Trip to Shikoku

    Overall, we were very satisfied and felt it was a wonderful Hotel. The events were thoughtfully planned, and the Facility was clean and well maintained, so we wished we could have stayed longer. If I had to mention something, it was a bit disappointing that the large public bath and the open-air bath are on different floors, so you have to go separately. Also, since there was only one escalator between the 1st and 2nd floors, having to use the stairs was tough for elderly guests. The meals were excellent. This trip was to celebrate my husband’s retirement as we traveled almost all the way around Shikoku, and it became a great memory. Thank you very much.

    I took my mother to ...

    I took my mother to Dogo Onsen for the first time as a birthday gift, and choosing this Hotel was absolutely the right decision. They provided Shuttle Service to Dogo Onsen Station by bonnet bus, and the Hotel had so much to enjoy: a massage chair in the Room, a large public bath, an orange juice tap, a manga corner, a footbath, and even an udon-making experience—far more than we could fit into just one night. Both dinner and the breakfast buffet were delicious. They also celebrated my mother’s birthday with us, which made her very happy. Thank you very much.

    The Hotel, guest roo...

    The Hotel, guest room, Onsen area, and changing room were clean, so I felt comfortable using them. Since the Onsen alternates between men and women by day, there were differences depending on which one you used. There was also a bubble bath, which felt great. They drove us in the Hotel car to Dogo Onsen Honkan at 6:00 a.m. When returning to the Hotel, it was outside the hours when the loop bus runs, so a staff member told us to call and they would pick us up—and they did. The staff were very courteous. I would like to stay again.

    We truly appreciate your thoughtful and attentive service.

    I stayed here with three childhood friends after finishing raising our children for the first time in 30 years. The meals were excellent, the Onsen was wonderful, and the Room was great—above all, it was a fantastic Hotel with thoughtful attention to detail everywhere. It’s a long-established Hotel, but it has been renovated. Even though there were many families with children in the dining area, the high ceilings and layout meant we didn’t notice any noise at all, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    It was a relaxing experience.

    The room had a terrace with a view of Matsuyama Castle and was equipped with a high-quality massage chair. I enjoyed the Onsen three times. The meals were delightful, especially the sea bream shabu-shabu, and the portion sizes were just right. Although the Wi-Fi didn’t connect initially upon arrival, the staff promptly resolved the issue, which was very helpful. There was also a free drink corner and foot bath available. While it is located at some distance from Dogo Onsen Honkan, there is a free shuttle bus running every 10 minutes between the Hotel and Karakuri Clock Tower, so it wasn’t an issue. Dogo Onsen may not be an easily accessible destination, but it has become one of the places I’d love to visit again.

    Family-friendly.

    Upon arrival, we faced some confusion and uncertainty. When trying to park in the paid (EV charging) parking space that was supposedly reserved during the Reservation, a staff member directed us back and forth multiple times. Even after asking, "Is this the right spot?" they responded without looking up from their paper with a simple "Yes." After unloading our luggage and preparing to head inside, we were told once again that it was not the correct spot, requiring yet another adjustment. During check-in, we enjoyed matcha tea service in our Room. However, during dinner time, a staff member informed us that they had entered our Room to remove the matcha cups without prior notice or permission—this should have been communicated when serving the tea! Unauthorized entry followed by an after-the-fact report is unacceptable and very upsetting. There are more issues I could mention but will refrain for now... For what we paid—which was quite expensive for us—the experience lacked any sense of luxury. It ended up being an exhausting Hotel stay overall. The massage chair in the Room was relaxing at least.

    Onsen trip with a 1-year-old child

    We chose this facility because we were traveling with children. The mandarin orange ball pool was a delightful play area, especially for small children. Despite the busy season before the year-end, our dinner was changed from being served at the restaurant to in-room dining, which made us very happy. Thank you so much. However, we would like to suggest some improvements: Although we had reserved the family bath for a time after dinner when we had more flexibility, it would be helpful if this information was shared with the staff in charge of our room. Additionally, when asking our room attendant to warm up baby food, they suggested checking with the front desk and seemed hesitant (as if saying "Now? While it's busy?"). This could be improved for better service. We also requested children's shampoo and other items for use in the family bath but were disappointed that they were not provided. Overall, it offers great value for money and we would like to stay again if given another opportunity!

    For a memorable trip with your parents

    We decided to change our plans from Aomoriya and chose this accommodation at Dogo Onsen! Reserved a room with an open-air bath for a trip with my parents. The lounge was accessible, meals were served in a private room, and everything was absolutely satisfying!!! We've already received requests to stay here again next time. Highly recommended, so please consider it!

    Comfortable

    I used it for the first time! Although it's a bit far from Dogo Onsen Station, the unlimited shuttle bus rides and the exclusive lounge for Prince Hotel guests in front of Dogo Onsen Station were very convenient! The lounge had lockers, drinks, and restrooms. I really felt they cared about their guests. The shuttle bus drivers were all friendly and chatting with them was enjoyable. The Onsen was absolutely amazing. After walking around all day, the massage chair in the room was perfect for my tired legs and back! I definitely want to visit again!

    The meals were delicious.

    The timing was perfect as it wasn't crowded even on fully booked days. I could enjoy a relaxing bath and the meals were delicious and served at a great pace, leaving me completely satisfied. It was a long-awaited trip to Matsuyama, and I had a wonderfully relaxing time. I would love to visit again. Thank you for your hospitality!

    A clean and comfortable Hotel

    Stayed with the "Room Assigned on Arrival Plan." The Japanese-style room was a bit small for three friends. The hotel seemed somewhat old, but parts had been renovated and were clean. Good points included the shuttle bus running every 10 minutes and the bath area being constantly cleaned, making it clean and comfortable with a shampoo bar available.

    Satisfaction for All Ages

    Enjoy a variety of activities such as making Onsen eggs, free drinks, table tennis, and painting—there's so much to do that one night might not be enough! Both children and adults can have a great time. The meals were delicious, and the Onsen was not only of excellent quality but also clean and wonderful. Although there was some noise at night from above or next door, it was still a very pleasant stay.

    First Visit to Dogo Onsen

    Decided to visit on short notice the day before. While the atmosphere is a bit old-fashioned, it was clean. The souvenir shop had a great selection, and even the vending machines offered 31 Ice Cream, which was nice. The Onsen (large public bath) had silky smooth water, with plenty of commercial shampoo and conditioner options available. It was very clean, and there were lots of towels provided as well. A shuttle bus took us to Dogo Onsen Honkan for sightseeing, which was very convenient even though it's within walking distance. The meals were delicious overall; however, the squid somen at breakfast was so rubbery that it was inedible. After checking out of our room, we saw about seven housekeeping staff sitting on the floor in the hallway leading to the elevator with vacuums lined up beside them. Their tatami break room was also fully visible from there. Many didn’t greet us even when we made eye contact. While I understand rising costs these days, considering it's not an exceptionally budget-friendly place, seeing such an exposed back-of-house area left me feeling disappointed as we departed. Despite receiving excellent hospitality from staff at reception and in the restaurant during our stay, this final impression unfortunately overshadowed everything else.

    I was impressed by the staff's hospitality.

    It has been a while since I stayed at a hotel where I was guided to my room upon check-in. I was impressed by the dinner guidance, explanation of ingredients, and the excellent shuttle service, as well as the warm smiles of all the staff. Throughout my stay, I felt comfortable and at ease. Thanks to this experience, my first trip to Shikoku became a wonderful memory. Thank you very much!

    Great value and fully satisfying.

    Although it is a bit far from Dogo Onsen, having a bath in the room and meals served in the room at this price is highly satisfying. The staff member attending to us was very kind, and the free-use areas and exclusive lounge within the facility offered excellent service.

    Great value for money!

    When we arrived near the entrance by private car, a staff member promptly came to assist us. The parking lot is about a 5-minute walk away, and it was easy to find using the map provided by the staff. During check-in, we received a detailed explanation and were informed about the private bath options. We made a reservation for the private bath at that time. Since it was a weekday with a slightly late check-in, there were still some options available for the private baths at that point. The private bath had high partitions for privacy, so while we couldn't enjoy much of the view, we could still feel the fresh outdoor air. Additionally, as the usage fee for the private bath was affordable, I recommend trying it if there’s availability and your schedule allows. As for the public bath area: The jet baths were spacious enough to stretch out comfortably one person at a time—very relaxing! The sauna featured an auto löyly system and reached high temperatures that satisfied me as someone who loves hot saunas. However—if only!—as a sauna enthusiast myself, I wished there had been a cold plunge pool... It’s truly unfortunate not having one available here; nonetheless thanks largely due to its intense heat levels within their sauna setup itself—I still managed "to get refreshed" without issue! Our room was also great overall: One minor concern though—the refrigerator inside had noticeable frost buildup which caught my attention slightly—but aside from this small detail everything else felt clean & well-maintained throughout space-wise too! Depending upon specific rooms assigned however note potential views might vary since certain windows may face obstructive nearby buildings blocking scenic outlooks entirely instead…luckily though ours happened located topmost floor corner unit offering relatively unobstructed vistas instead—a pleasant surprise especially given how budget-friendly accommodation pricing turned out being altogether unexpectedly delightful bonus nighttime cityscape enjoyment included therein likewise appreciated greatly indeed! Another unexpected highlight worth mentioning? Their manga library collection onsite proved surprisingly diverse featuring not just older classics but newer popular titles alike ensuring no dull moments spent browsing through selections offered readily accessible anytime desired during stay duration itself conveniently enjoyable pastime option provided guests alike regardless preferences catered accordingly thoughtfully curated assortment     Various services available

    The room was upgraded for us, which made both the children and their grandparents extremely happy. Dinner was delicious, with plenty of enjoyable experiences like taiko drums, udon, and onsen eggs. After our stay, we unfortunately forgot a stroller—a major oversight—but the staff kindly accommodated our request to send it to our next accommodation in Kochi (cash on delivery). We are incredibly grateful for their support. Thank you so much! We will definitely stay here again.

    Dogo Prince Hotel

    It was my first visit, and it was quite nice. However, despite the upgraded Room, the view was obstructed by a construction crane, which was disappointing. Dinner was 5 stars.

    Stayed with children...

    Stayed with children. There were karaoke, a manga corner, a ball pool, taiko drum performances, and udon-making experiences—so much fun! There was also a place where drinks were available for free until the evening. Efforts to satisfy guests could be seen throughout. Thank you very much!

    Great for families and solo travelers!

    We stayed as a family of four, including a 6-year-old and a 2-year-old. Although the hotel is a bit old and located a distance from the station, our concerns were completely dispelled by its charm. [Small Lounge in Front of the Station] There is a small lounge (or rather, a small room) exclusively for guests in front of Dogo Onsen Station, where you can store your luggage in lockers, and a retro shuttle service is available for pick-up. [Inside the Property] Some parts of the property are old, but it has been renovated and is clean. In the rest area, you can enjoy unlimited orange juice from a tap, all-you-can-eat popcorn and sherbet, and there is a ball pool and a manga room, which delighted the children. There are also in-room dining options for children and simple souvenirs for kids, making it a very family-friendly hotel. [Room & Massage Chair] We rented a slightly better room, which included a massage chair, and it was a great addition. We ended up using it multiple times during our stay, much to our amusement. [Service & Staff] The staff, perhaps reflecting the nature of people from Ehime, were all calm and kind. [Summary] It's a wonderful hotel where you can enjoy a fun family time or relax on a solo trip, allowing you to refresh both joyfully and leisurely!

    Seven days ago, afte...

    Seven days ago, after completing the Shikoku pilgrimage that I started last year, I stayed at this property in Dogo as a gesture of thanks. It had been several years since I last stayed at an onsen in Dogo, and this time I chose to stay because I saw that there was lounge access available. The lounge had ample hours, allowing me to spend a luxurious time. Additionally, the meals, amenities, and hospitality were all satisfactory. However, the massage chair in the room was unusable due to insufficient repair of the wiring connection. I apologize for not informing you. Although my stay was for one night, I was able to forget about everyday life. Thank you very much.

    It is a Showa-era Onsen Ryokan.

    It is a Ryokan with an atmosphere reminiscent of those once found in Atami. It was completely different from my expectations. It was truly disappointing, with announcements echoing throughout the entire Property (including the Room) around 9 PM to inform about a drum performance. It seems to be a Property intended for group use, and I think it may not be very suitable for personal users like those introduced by IKYU.
