    For your summer vacation trip.

    I used IKYU Points for my stay on August 16, but the Room maintenance was somewhat lacking. The wallpaper had been lightly repaired, but the area around the entrance was not well maintained. There was an odor reminiscent of the annex at Matsukawakan of Itoen Hotel. As for the food, most dishes are already laid out in the banquet hall, so if you go later, the sashimi tends to be a bit dried out. Tempura is prepared fresh once you are seated, but the texture was not good and it seemed to use vannamei shrimp. The large public bath alternates between men and women by day (the day of arrival and the next day), but I was surprised that I had to run both hot water and cold water myself to adjust the temperature.

    This is our third year in a row.

    Every year during the Obon holiday season, I stay here to avoid the crowds. It feels like there are more tourists each year, but it still never feels crowded, and I love being able to relax and fully enjoy nature. This year, a typhoon caused a power outage across the entire area on our first day, and the electricity went out around 7:00 PM right at dinnertime. It was inconvenient in many ways, but the meal was still lavish and delicious, and during the outage we managed with other guests using our phone lights. However, it wasn’t just that we couldn’t use electricity—there was no air conditioning, running water, or even toilets available until power was restored at 11:00 PM, which honestly made us anxious. Even so, the staff repeatedly brought us drinking water and even offered Shuttle Service by car to nearby restrooms in a small pocket park so we wouldn’t feel uneasy. Their warm support truly meant a lot to us. After the power came back on—even though it was late at night—they came to inspect the open-air bath in our Room as well. Thanks to that, we could relax with peace of mind in the Onsen and go to sleep feeling refreshed. Because they have their own private hot spring source, hot water pours into the in-room open-air bath with incredible force nonstop. I couldn’t help asking, “Is it really okay to let it run this much?!”—and they told me this is one of Tomiya’s proud features. We gratefully enjoyed the open-air bath many times and my skin felt wonderfully smooth. When you stay two nights, the menu changes as well—and everything is so luxurious you can hardly finish it all. Between the food and especially the warm hospitality from everyone on staff, we had another wonderful two-night stay. Because there aren’t many tourist attractions nearby, you can enjoy a truly luxurious trip focused on rest and refreshment without being rushed from place to place. Thank you again for such a lovely time this year. We’ll be back again next year.

    The bath was excelle...

    The bath was excellent. The open-air bath was also great. Dinner was served in such generous portions that I couldn't finish it. However, the Facility felt outdated and it was cold.

    The Best Accommodation

    This was my first time using this service. I booked the course with two crabs because I really wanted to eat crab. Upon arrival, the receptionist was very kind, and I had a pleasant check-in experience. Although the building is not new, it is well-maintained and there were no issues at all. The onsen was spacious with an open-air bath, which made me very satisfied. Dinner, which I had been eagerly waiting for, featured an abundance of crab along with sashimi and other dishes—an absolutely satisfying meal! I couldn't finish it all (laughs). I'll definitely be back!

    A place to relax and recover after hunting activities

    I stayed at [Yumura Onsen - Private Hot Spring Accommodation Tomiya] for one night during a hunting trip. All the staff were polite and attentive. The interior had a nostalgic charm and provided a relaxing atmosphere. There were two types of large baths, and as expected from an onsen area, they were incredibly refreshing. Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious. If I have the chance, I would definitely like to stay at this accommodation again.

    The cost performance of the meals was excellent.

    I once had "tagged brand crab" in an area near the Sea of Japan. While it was indeed large and delicious, to be honest, I couldn't notice a significant difference from regular crab with my taste buds. This time, I stayed at this accommodation, which is reputed for its "highly rated cuisine." The result? Complete satisfaction as expected. Not only did I enjoy crab, but also sashimi and wagyu beef. Plus, thanks to a time-limited sale, I enjoyed this trip at about half the cost of my previous one. This ryokan is especially recommended for those who prioritize cost performance.

    Too terrible.

    Frankly speaking, it is appalling that IKYU.com lists an accommodation of this level. While the age of the facility might be unavoidable, the room had a strong musty smell, like a house that hasn't been entered for decades, from the moment I stepped in. The bathroom was particularly bad with an overwhelming sewage odor that spread to the bedroom and made me feel unwell. Such odors are unimaginable if proper ventilation and cleanliness were maintained in the room. This issue goes beyond just being an old facility. The lobby was dimly lit with unused lighting fixtures left lying around. The tiles in the public bath were cracked and uneven, making it dangerous as I almost cut my foot—there was nothing positive to note. As for the private open-air bath attached to my room, while it may have been due to seasonal factors, there were so many stink bugs that entering it was nearly impossible. At night, over 10 stink bugs appeared inside my room one after another. Being someone who dislikes insects, I spent a sleepless night overwhelmed by both their presence and the unpleasant odor lingering in the room—a disastrous stay overall. Although I can reluctantly accept issues like stink bugs as part of nature's influence, there wasn't a single redeeming quality about this accommodation otherwise—it left me more exhausted than relaxed. Additionally, despite high expectations for meals given its management by a seafood company, even their seafood dishes were not particularly delicious.

    It was great!

    The Onsen was spacious and very relaxing! It made me want to visit again during the cold winter season! The food was delicious, and the meat melted in my mouth! I usually eat inexpensive meals, so this was truly impressive. I would love to stay here again. Thank you very much!

    I love Tomiya!

    The property is impeccably maintained and cleaned, with air conditioning in the hallways during summer, ensuring a clean and comfortable environment. The staff, from those at the lobby to the dining service team, provide exceptional hospitality, making us return repeatedly. It exudes the charm of a classic Showa-era Ryokan, and we hope it remains as it is without unnecessary modernization. The baths operate on a rotation system, allowing guests to enjoy all the Onsen facilities. If there’s one minor suggestion for improvement, it would be to make the Onsen available 24 hours—then it would be perfect! Even as it stands now, we love this place and will definitely visit again.

    Once again

    I stayed at the accommodation in September, just like last year. Although I couldn't meet the branch manager from last year as they had been transferred, I enjoyed plenty of delicious meals for both breakfast and dinner this time as well. Crab, sashimi platter, shabu-shabu, grilled dishes on ceramic plates, tempura, steamed egg custard, and more. This time I stayed in a room with a bed. When washing hands after using the toilet, the paper towel dispenser was placed far away, so I had to wipe the lid each time. The area around the ventilation fan cover was not cleaned properly. Since there was only one key for the room, we had to coordinate our timing when bathing separately on different floors (first and second). The second-floor bath seemed less clean compared to the first-floor bath my husband used in the morning. I personally used our room's bathroom in the morning and didn't check it myself though. It seems that various areas have been renovated recently. I would love to visit again during crab season!

    We visited again this year for a 2-night, 3-day stay during the Obon holiday. Unfortunately, it rained, but we chose a room with an open-air bath, so we went out during the light rain and spent the rest of the time relaxing in the room—it turned out to be a great vacation. Compared to last year, the signboard at the entrance was renewed and some parts of the facility seemed to have been gradually renovated, giving off a lively atmosphere. And as always, the amount of food was incredible! The crab feast for dinner on the second day was truly impressive. We'll definitely come back next year!

    It might be worth it if you can endure.

    As per the reviews, the building requires some tolerance, but the meals were satisfactory in quantity. If I had to point out, the futon felt a bit damp, there was an odor in the room, and the onsen temperature was too hot for me to relax. Additionally, while I think the spring quality is excellent, I felt it was dangerous as some areas of the washing area floor were slippery.

    I'm full.

    The meals were delicious, including sashimi and meat, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The tempura served later was also delightful, leaving us completely full. The bath, especially the open-air onsen, was amazing. We would love to visit again.

    The Onsen is excellent, and the dinner portions are satisfying, but could use some improvement.

    The building is old, and there are some stains on the room's shoji screens, but they are hardly noticeable. The Onsen on the second floor is absolutely amazing. You can truly feel the quality of the natural hot spring, and it might even surpass Arima among Kansai area Onsen. Dinner portions are generous, and you can sense the effort put into preparing each dish. However, there is room for improvement in terms of sashimi quality and the flavor of steamed dishes. Reducing the amount of sashimi while improving its quality could be a good idea, and perhaps omitting steamed dishes altogether would work as well. Breakfast was deliciously satisfying. Overall, while there are minor issues, this Ryokan offers great value for money with its excellent Onsen experience and affordability—definitely a place I’d like to visit again!

    I was very satisfied.

    I booked a Plan with breakfast included. The front staff provided courteous service, and although I arrived on a large motorcycle, they allowed me to park under the roof in front of the entrance. They also upgraded me to a more spacious Room with a larger bed, which was very satisfying. The bath was relaxing, and I enjoyed a quiet and peaceful time. The breakfast was hearty and fulfilling.

    Private Open-Air Bath

    This was my first visit. The Ryokan offers a view of the Onsen town and is located slightly away from it, but I was satisfied with the Onsen and meals. The Facility feels a bit old, but it was enjoyable for the price.

    Thank you for your hospitality. The facility is getting old, but it was well-cleaned, and I had no complaints. The retro feel was actually nice. The hot water in the indoor shower takes a while to come out, so it's best to let it run first. There are proper notices about this. The food, both meat and fish, was satisfying. Also, the Onsen was fantastic. I was able to relax and take my time. I truly enjoyed a leisurely stay. Thank you very much. Additionally, the male staff member who assisted us at check-in was very helpful. Thank you.

    Hot spring indulgence on a golf trip

    I planned a trip with three friends to enjoy golf and hot springs, and we stayed at this accommodation. I think the price is reasonable. The main attraction of the inn seems to be the hot springs from the source. There are several large baths, and it seems that they were once very lively. However, currently, the baths are quite deteriorated, and two of the sauna baths were out of service. There were also some other tubs that couldn't be used, which made me think that managing them might be difficult. There was no staff response upon arrival at the inn or after check-out. It seemed to be operated by a small number of people. The staff were kind and left a very good impression, but I couldn't help but feel there was a shortage of personnel. It seems that cost-cutting measures are being implemented everywhere. Perhaps they can't keep up with repairs adequately. It might be a minor point, but I felt cost-cutting in things like toilet paper, tissues, and amenities. It was unfortunate that the temperature of the hot springs was low. I would have liked it to be around 40 degrees, but many were below that. During meals, the staff were attentive, and we were able to enjoy delicious food. My friends were satisfied with the baths and meals. Since hot spring trips are one of my hobbies, and I have visited several inns in Yumura Onsen and Kinosaki Onsen, I noticed some points of concern. It's a very nice hot spring facility, so I would like to recommend it to my friends, but I thought it would be nice if the large baths were unified into one, allowing us to fully enjoy all the tubs and saunas.
