    We had a relaxing stay.

    It was a traditional Accommodation with a warm, homey atmosphere. Since our Room had an open-air bath, we were able to enjoy it many times. Although the view is partially blocked, we hardly ran into other guests. We spent our time relaxing—sitting on the terrace chair listening to birdsong and the sound of rain, then taking a bath again and again. The food was beautifully presented and very delicious. All dishes were served at once, but we were able to enjoy them at a leisurely pace without interruptions.

    From the warm welcom...

    From the warm welcome to the lovely smile of the proprietress who served our meal, everything was full of hospitality, and the food was delicious. There was also a private bath, so I was able to spend a relaxing time with my wife, and I would like to stay again.

    Mixed-Gender Open-Air Bath

    The 30-minute private bath had lukewarm water. From the large public bath, women can wrap themselves in a bath towel and enter the mixed-gender open-air bath. This one had hotter water and felt wonderful. Dinner and breakfast were served in the Room, and it was my first time taking alcoholic drinks from the fridge in the Room and serving myself. It was a shame there wasn’t any draft beer.

    I was able to relax ...

    I was able to relax and was very satisfied. I did wish the moss on the Onsen floor could be cleaned a bit more, but it was a lovely, cozy Ryokan and I really enjoyed my stay.

    We stayed with a senior and two women. Although it is in Hakone Yumoto, the location is quiet and not near the station. The accommodation has a cozy design and atmosphere that we liked. The staff, including the attendants, were kind and pleasant. The room was a two-room suite with a mountain view, very clean, and we were highly satisfied. On the day of our stay, it was fully booked, so I was worried about crowded baths; however, they were rarely busy, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing soak. The meals (both breakfast and dinner) were served all at once up to the rice course. The portions were just right—not too much—and while not extraordinary in taste, they were satisfying enough. **Reasons for not giving full marks:** - The room felt dry; I should have checked if humidifiers could be borrowed. - Drinks other than those in the refrigerator could not be ordered during meals. - It would have been nice if socks had been included as part of the amenities. - There was no tissue paper in the dressing area of the bathhouse—only hard hand paper towels that weren’t ideal for blowing one’s nose. - While it’s great that the hot spring water is free-flowing (onsen), personally I prefer higher temperatures during winter. - The private bath's tub felt slippery—I'm unsure whether this is due to cleaning issues or something unavoidable—but it caught my attention. That said, there wasn’t anything particularly unpleasant overall. We left satisfied with our stay; my senior especially seemed very pleased!

    The accommodation offers delicious meals.

    The Ryokan offers excellent service, and the meals, both dinner and breakfast, feature a variety of carefully prepared dishes served in small portions, which were delicious. Since the Ryokan is built on a slope in tiers, the view from the windows is not great. Additionally, due to the age of the building, loud footsteps from upstairs were quite noticeable and bothersome. The bath includes a free semi-open-air private Onsen that most guests seemed to use. As a result, we rarely encountered others in the open-air communal Onsen—usually just one other group—allowing us to enjoy it almost privately during evening, midnight, and morning visits. However, except for midnight hours, noise from cars on nearby Route 1 made it less relaxing during other times. For amenities in the bath area: women's baths are equipped with cleansing products, lotion, emulsion cream, combs, cotton swabs, and hair ties; men's baths only have razors, cotton swabs, and combs—so you’ll need to bring your own aftershave or styling products if needed. There’s an instant coffee machine available in a room near reception for guests to enjoy coffee anytime they like. Meals are generally served in your Room. The fridge contains beer (¥500), sake (¥600), sours (¥400?), cola (¥200), and orange juice (¥200) for purchase so you don’t need to go out for drinks. There’s also a vending machine near the bath area if preferred. Overall: If you're looking to explore Hakone Yumoto's bustling Onsen town atmosphere closely tied with sightseeing spots nearby—it might not be ideal as this location feels more secluded instead! But couples seeking quiet nighttime relaxation under stars alongside private family-friendly options will likely find satisfaction here!

    Full of hospitality

    The cuisine, especially the selection of ingredients and seasoning, is excellent, and the staff's hospitality is outstanding! There is a kids' space and facilities for sterilizing baby bottles, making it a fantastic place for families with small children!

    With a 3-month-old baby

    I am writing this review the day after my stay. The first thing that delighted me upon arrival was the spacious parking lot, making it easy to park and retrieve my car. Feeling tired from the journey, I was warmly greeted at the entrance by smiling staff who promptly helped with my heavy luggage. From the very first step, I could feel their heartfelt hospitality. When shown to our room, I was amazed by the size of the two-room Japanese-style space. It was one of the most spacious accommodations I've ever stayed in at a ryokan, providing plenty of room for families to relax comfortably. Traveling with a baby, we appreciated how attentive and considerate the staff were during their visits to our room, which made us feel warm and secure throughout our stay. The onsen featured a mixed-gender open-air bath that initially made me a bit nervous; however, once immersed in it, I was captivated by the breathtaking view before me. The sense of openness and connection with nature provided an unforgettable experience that truly soothed my soul. As for meals, both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Each dish seemed to convey the chef's dedication and care. In particular, during these times when such generosity is rare, being served high-quality rice felt especially luxurious—a true treat that left both heart and stomach satisfied. At night, I slept soundly wrapped in futons. While there were occasional footsteps heard from upstairs due to this being a building over 60 years old, it added charm rather than disturbance—offering warmth through its unique character as if sharing moments with others under one roof. Overall, my stay at Yusakaso was filled with comfort and heartfelt hospitality. With its onsen baths offering stunning views alongside delicious cuisine and warm service within spacious rooms—it’s truly a ryokan worth revisiting!

    The Best Accommodation for Families with Children

    We stayed as a family of three with our 1 year and 8-month-old son. With in-room dining and private baths, we could relax without worrying about others. The bath had body soap for children, scissors were provided during meals, and there was even a trash bin for diapers. The kids' room made our child very happy. They also noticed that I was pregnant and kindly changed the pre-meal drink to orange juice for me. Although we were initially anxious about traveling with a small child, it turned out to be a wonderful experience filled with great memories. We look forward to visiting again as a family of four after our second child is born!

    So warm and inviting

    Check-in before 6 PM, and instead of heading straight to dinner, the staff kindly recommended a bath. The open-air bath with a view of the Hakone mountains was absolutely amazing. Dinner after a refreshing soak was pure bliss, perfectly complemented by local sake. The comfort and hospitality are the standout features of this accommodation.

    Great value for money

    The room is spacious with two connected Japanese-style rooms, and meals are served in the room for both breakfast and dinner. The staff are kind, and the private Onsen bath is free of charge. Overall, it was wonderful, but there were a few drawbacks. First, there is no air conditioning in the changing room. Since the Onsen at Yusakaso has hot water, it can be quite tough at the end of July. Next, the amenities are not very well-equipped. There were no combs, razors, or cotton in the room; although there are two sinks available, there was only one hand towel provided—this felt a bit inconvenient. Lastly, sounds from upstairs floors, hallways, and neighboring rooms echo significantly. At night you could even hear snoring from upstairs—it was somewhat amusing! That said, considering everything together at this price point makes it affordable accommodation overall. It’s a recommended place to stay!

    Perfect Accommodation for Baby's First Onsen Experience

    We stayed here for our first onsen trip with our 8-month-old daughter. While the amenities were limited, the room was clean and spacious, which we appreciated. However, the sound and vibrations from footsteps on the stairs were a bit bothersome. The sound of babies crying didn’t bother us much since it’s understandable in an accommodation with many families (which we found very convenient). We enjoyed having meals in our room at a relaxed pace. Overall, we were satisfied, though it was unfortunate that only the meat dishes didn’t suit our taste during both breakfast and dinner. Despite some minor points mentioned above, this accommodation is highly recommended for family trips! Although there were differences in service quality among staff members, everyone was kind to our daughter and interacted warmly with her, which made us happy. The small kids' room was also helpful for us. Thanks to all of this, we had a more relaxing stay than expected. Thank you very much!

    It was a wonderful Onsen debut.

    It was our first Onsen Ryokan experience with our 9-month-old son. We chose a Room with an open-air bath, and the slightly lukewarm temperature allowed us to enter safely with our son. We were also very grateful for the provision of baby soap. One point, it would have been even better if the humidifier in the Room was usable, but overall we were very satisfied. The staff member in charge was considerate throughout, which we greatly appreciated. We would love to use it again.

    I was healed!

    I was very satisfied. The meals were served in the Room, so it was safe even with a toddler! The garden open-air bath was pleasant, and the private bath was spacious, allowing the family to relax and soak together! The Room was clean and spacious, and the children played freely! I definitely want to come again!

    It was really great!!

    It's been almost two months now, but I was quite worried about staying with a preschooler with autism. However, everyone at the inn welcomed us so warmly, and I am truly grateful!! We were able to enjoy delicious meals in our room for both breakfast and dinner, and we could all use the family bath together, which made for a very good memory for us. I apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused! It's such a wonderful inn that I have recommended it to my friends! If possible, I would love to visit again.
