It was great.
Although it was a last-minute Reservation, the staff were very kind and helpful. The meals were delicious! The Onsen was hot and left my skin glowing. I love a hotter Onsen, so I was really happy. I’d love to stay again. The nearby beach had very high waves, but that was fun in its own way. After getting out of the sea, I appreciated having showers available to rinse off the sand.

Whirlwind Trip
It was fun that all six baths were private and could be used free of charge. The staff at the Ryokan were kind and taught us various things, so we were able to relax and enjoy our stay. I would like to stay again if I have time.

The staff's hospital...
The staff's hospitality, the Onsen, and the clean room with a lingering scent of white wood were impeccable. Since Atagawa Onsen as a whole has an old-fashioned charm, narrow roads are understandable. The parking lot might feel a bit tight.

The meals were luxur...
The meals were luxurious, featuring dishes such as Ise lobster sashimi, simmered golden eye snapper, wagyu sushi, grilled turban shell, and Atagawa pork as part of the "Full Bloom Kaiseki" course. Breakfast was also substantial, including miso soup with Ise lobster and golden eye snapper. The accommodation offers its original craft beer, which was also delicious. The atmosphere of the dining area was pleasant. While the accommodation itself is old, the rooms are clean, stylish, and well-maintained. One minor drawback is the TV—it’s a standard one without YouTube access or a DVD player and not particularly large. However, this is forgivable given that the meals are exceptional and there’s an onsen open-air bath in each room along with several impressive private baths available for reservation. The onsen open-air bath in the room offers a view of the ocean if you lift up the bamboo blinds; however, you cannot see it directly while soaking in the tub. Instead, you can feel its presence through its roaring waves—a powerful sound that adds to your experience. On windy days by the sea, you'll also hear intense gusts hitting against surfaces outside. The constant sound of waves creates a unique ambiance only found at seaside onsens—soaking in hot spring water while listening to these natural sounds makes for an unforgettable experience. The bathtub may feel slightly small for two people but is still manageable to share comfortably enough. Be cautious though—the water flowing from its spout tends toward very high temperatures! Each private bath has its own charm too! Since Atagawa Onsen's waters run naturally hot overall—those sensitive might prefer larger outdoor communal baths like Daimonji Bath where temperatures cool slightly due sheer size accommodating more volume dilution effect better suited preferences accordingly. Atagawa itself built atop steep slopes making walking around challenging yet reassuringly safe tsunami-wise given immediate access nearby elevated evacuation points should emergencies arise unexpectedly during stays here specifically chosen reasons why opted booking location ultimately deciding factor peace mind included benefits alongside scenic coastal proximity culinary delights Banana Crocodile Park attractions discounted admission tickets available purchase directly saving ¥200 per person respectively!

May not be cost-effective.
One night in a room with an open-air bath. When opening the window, you can be seen by people from the hotel across or those walking on the street, so it's better to use the blinds while bathing. It would have been nicer with a bit more openness. The water was lukewarm, and it felt cold after getting out. The private onsen's open-air bath was good, but it might feel lacking if you're looking to enjoy outdoor scenery. However, the quality of the natural flowing onsen water was excellent. The meals were just okay. If this accommodation is priced in the 10,000 yen range, it's acceptable; however, if it exceeds 20,000 yen, it might feel a bit disappointing. It's not that the hotel itself is bad; rather, I felt that its cost-performance ratio wasn't very favorable.

It was a bit disappointing.
I apologize for the harsh evaluation despite your hospitality. It is purely in relation to cost performance, so please forgive me. I was a bit surprised as the Facility is quite outdated. When I tried to open the window in the bedroom and opened the shoji screen, I found that the window frame was completely rusted and dust had accumulated, and the lock wouldn't budge at all. The Room heating system is old-fashioned, with no temperature or airflow control, making it nearly impossible to adjust room temperature. The bedding only had two sheets between a duvet and a mattress pad, which easily came off from the duvet and did not feel clean. The meals were prepared by staff from overseas who worked hard but were not particularly noteworthy in content. The Onsen uses natural springs from Atagawa which was satisfying; however, it was disappointing that temperature adjustment relied on tap water even though it's understandable. We chose this Property for its advertised ocean view but could only see a small glimpse of the sea from our Room's window which felt misleading. Considering various unavoidable circumstances these days along with being more affordable than other surrounding Facilities, it still fell far short of expectations leading to this strict evaluation. While evaluating this Property itself is important, I also felt that issues with surrounding environment played a significant role as Atagawa's coastal area has become quite desolate over time. Thank you for your hospitality during our stay.

The meals were excellent.
The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were wonderful. There were many dishes, and even my wife, who usually eats lightly, was delighted and finished everything. I thought it was nice that the dining area had a semi-private atmosphere, so you didn't have to worry about the eyes of others. The building is quite old, and there were some disappointing aspects, such as the Room's screen door being difficult to move and coming off when forced, and the toilet door next to the bedroom being poorly fitted and making noise every time it opened. There are many private baths, but I felt there were hits and misses. Since you can't try many in just one night's stay, I recommend checking inside carefully before entering.

Refresh in the hot spring
I stayed with my sister. Although we arrived quite late for check-in, they kindly provided a shuttle service upon request, which was very helpful as it was raining. The room had a private hot spring bath, so it was great to be able to use it at any time we liked. Additionally, it was very convenient to check the availability of the private hot spring via an app. Since we wanted to enjoy the hot spring several times, we appreciated having two bath towels prepared in advance, which made us feel that they paid attention to details. The only disappointment was that the hair dryer's airflow in the room was weak. The food was delicious, and the staff were kind, making us want to stay again. Thank you very much.
