    A clean Hotel.

    I had an urgent matter in Shimoda and chose this place purely for convenience, but the Room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Dinner in the huge banquet hall was especially good, particularly the grilled abalone. You are given three tickets and use them to choose items such as tempura from food stalls, roast beef, simmered turban shell, plus desserts like mini cakes, fruit, and pudding. The tempura and roast beef were tasty, but the overall amount of food felt modest. I appreciated being able to take desserts back to the Room. The balcony bath in the Room is on the small side and doesn’t really feel like an Onsen, but my husband checked in exhausted and didn’t have the energy to go to the large public bath, so it was helpful. The large public bath with a jet bath and the open-air bath have a refreshing water quality and feel great. There is also a garden pool, which might be nice for a vacation.

    Family-friendly

    The Room and Facility are basic, but the staff service and meals were satisfying. Overall, it feels more about quantity than quality and is quite casual, so it seems suitable for families. There were also a few international families here and there.

    Unfortunately, there were some disappointing aspects this time as well.

    I like this place and have stayed several times, but this time the Room toilet wouldn’t flush properly and only the paper was left behind (the next person had to flush it). I contacted the staff at night and someone from the Facility team came, but it seemed the flush valve was malfunctioning. They told us to keep holding it down for a while when flushing (since it couldn’t be easily repaired). In the end, everyone didn’t want to deal with another failed flush, so we used other toilets in the building. It was very stressful. If you were fully booked that would be one thing, but I think you should have offered to change our Room. However, when I shopped at the store after breakfast, the staff member there was very kind and even packed my purchase using an old styrofoam box since I was traveling by car. Because this person left such a good impression at the end, I felt like staying again.

    Oceanfront

    You can see the ocean from the Hotel Room, and if you walk a little way down the slope, the sea is right in front of you—perfect for picking up a coffee at a convenience store and relaxing on the beach. Dinner was plentiful, featuring simmered golden eye snapper (a bit sweet for our taste), spiny lobster, abalone, and more. It was also nice that we could use a voucher to choose items such as tempura, seared bonito, or dessert. There was an Onsen as well as an open-air bath, and we enjoyed them many times. Breakfast was buffet-style; the freshly grilled dried horse mackerel was especially delicious. They also had organic coffee, which we enjoyed. Thanks to the staff’s thoughtful attention to detail, our stay was very comfortable.

    Family-friendly and relaxing

    The Room is spacious and comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast are healthy and satisfying. The large public bath is also spacious, and the open-air bath is big as well. There are no day-use guests, so it feels calm and relaxing.

    Spring Break Memories

    I came to Izu to make memories with my two grandchildren. They were delighted when they saw the dishes at the Hotel and said everything was just what they liked. The breakfast buffet was also very delicious. The day after our stay, we had heavy rain like a typhoon. Still, the three of us made wonderful memories. Thank you very much.

    Very good.

    Although it is a large Hotel, it feels very calm and relaxing. All of the staff are pleasant, and the international staff work just as hard. I have stayed here several times over the past few years, and it never changes, which makes me want to come back again. Also, one of my companions was celebrating a birthday this time—thank you very much for your thoughtful consideration.

    Thank you for assisting with the lost item concern.

    The food was honestly average, which was a bit disappointing, but everything else was very comfortable and pleasant. The view from the Room, the clean private bath in the Room, the scenery from the window, the spacious and tidy interior, and not having to bring towels to the public bath as they were Room-specific were all great. While there weren’t excessive amenities like fancy shampoos or lotions provided, I appreciated having plenty of clean towels and bathing clothes available instead—it suited me better. Above all, I am grateful for how staff handled my concern about possibly leaving something behind after check-out during Room cleaning. They searched under the bed and even inside pockets of neatly folded robes. Moreover, they kindly said it would only take a minute as they went through collected trash to help me look for it. Although nothing was found in the end, I deeply appreciate their effort in pausing their work to thoroughly search for an item that might not even exist. The polite language and exceptional hospitality shown by a gentleman around his 60s deserve special thanks. If all staff are trained this way, this truly is an outstanding Hotel. I’d love to visit again during peak season!

    It was a relaxing Hotel.

    It was a very calm and nice Hotel. I enjoyed a relaxing bath with an ocean view, and the meals were very delicious. The staff were all smiling and provided excellent service. Thank you for your hospitality. I look forward to staying again next month during the cherry blossom season.

    Meals are luxurious.

    Both dinner and breakfast are luxurious and satisfying. The interior is also beautiful. Shimoda offers a sense of being in another world, making it perfect for enjoying your trip.

    Unwelcoming service

    This was my first stay, and I felt that the foreign female staff at the front desk explained the Hotel's rules in a very robotic manner, as if following a manual like AI. I had a similar impression at the restaurant. While I understand it may be unavoidable due to language barriers, I wonder about their training. There was also a middle-aged Japanese male staff member, but his service lacked warmth and did not meet expectations for customer-focused hospitality. On another note unrelated to the title, I noticed that the metal part of the sink in my Room (where water flows) was severely rusted, which also concerned me. This will likely be my last stay here.

    I finally found a good Hotel after a long time.

    The building is old, but the Room and toilet were thoroughly cleaned and very tidy. The large public bath and meals were also excellent. The staff's service was great, making the stay pleasant. I felt like I stayed at a good Hotel after a long time. If I had to mention any dissatisfaction, it would be that the Room slippers didn't fit well and hurt my feet, the mobile signal was weak, and the doorknob lock at the Room entrance felt outdated and caused slight stress. However, overall, I am satisfied. I would love to stay again.

    Shuttle bus operation

    I took the shuttle service from the station, but the employee driving was rough, causing passengers' luggage placed on seats to fall during curves. Additionally, they did not stop at a yellow light and almost ran a red light. It was a slightly frightening experience.

    Full stomach, full fun!

    We stayed for one night and two days as a family of five. The Hotel's location right in front of the sea was fantastic, allowing us to enjoy walks and beach activities immediately. During our stay, we fully enjoyed the sea, pool, and Onsen. Even after check-out, we were delighted to continue using the pool and access the Onsen for an additional fee. The meals were buffet-style for both dinner and breakfast, offering a wide variety such as sashimi, sushi, crab miso soup, freshly fried tempura, meat dishes, and desserts—all delicious with more than enough options to satisfy everyone. It turned out to be a trip that left our entire family very satisfied. Our children have already requested to stay again! We look forward to visiting again in the future.

    It was my first time...

    It was my first time, but the parking staff provided excellent service both upon arrival and departure. I enjoyed the pool, and the Hotel's proximity to the sea made it convenient for swimming. The view from the Room's bath was wonderful. Having a convenience store nearby was also very handy. I would love to visit again!

    It was great.

    A long-awaited one-night trip with a longtime friend, though the weather was cloudy and rainy. Given the age of the accommodation, I didn’t have high expectations for the interior, but it was very clean with no stains on the walls and well-maintained. Although I thought it might be difficult, I requested an upper floor and was delighted to be given a room on the top floor with a great view. When we got lost wandering around inside, staff members quickly noticed and kindly assisted us. The meals were plentiful and delicious. My friend mentioned that the simmered golden-eye snapper broth was too light, but I found it just right. The steamed egg custard felt slightly watery and lacked some flavor in its broth, but overall everything tasted good. Desserts could be taken back to our room, which was convenient as we were full at dinner but could enjoy them later. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of variety to choose from. The outdoor bath had clean water without any small insects floating around—very pleasant! Since the pool wasn’t open yet, we enjoyed a leisurely walk by its side while taking in views of mountains and sea; hearing nightingales sing and seeing wild birds up close made for a relaxing experience immersed in nature. In the morning, there were discounted fish (some imperfect ones missing eyes or tails) being sold nearby—I would have loved to buy some if traveling by car as they seemed like such great deals! Towels for bathing had no usage limits so there wasn’t any need to dry them out in our room; plus yukatas came in size S which fit my 150cm height perfectly without being too long. It was such an enjoyable stay at this hotel that I’d love to visit again someday! Many thanks to all staff members who made our stay so comfortable!

    The service is excellent. The only drawback might be that it's too spacious.

    The interior and exterior have been renovated, making it very clean. The food is also delicious. Originally designed for large groups, the Hotel features a spacious public bath and dining area. With many guest rooms, the walking distance within the Hotel can be quite long. It might be challenging for elderly guests. Dried fish at the morning market is affordable and tasty. I plan to visit again if I get the chance.

    The women's bath is spacious and excellent!

    This was my second stay. This time, we stayed in a Japanese-style Room for three people, which was on the ocean side, offering a sense of openness and comfort. The meals were well-prepared, and with the ticket system, we could choose what we liked to eat. Desserts could also be taken back to the Room, which I think is great for women. The baths, both indoor and open-air, were spacious enough that there was no need for rotation schedules—another plus point. My companions were also very satisfied. I would love to visit again!

    A sandy beach stretches out before you.

    Thank you for your consideration regarding the parking lot. We traveled by car from Hakone to Nishi-Izu over five nights and stayed on the fourth night. We believe that the sense of security in being able to spend time comfortably from arrival to departure is an absolute requirement for a trip, and we were able to enjoy our stay very much. The ocean view right in front of us was incredibly memorable even after our journey ended. Also, the dinner system was quite innovative—an interesting idea! Breakfast, however, turned out to be more standard than expected. During this trip, we noticed how Facility has been making efforts in cost-saving measures while maintaining quality service. It’s something we truly appreciate as it allows us to enjoy such reliable services with peace of mind. We had a wonderful time staying here—thank you very much!

    Relax with your family at the end of the year.

    We parked the car at the entrance and unloaded our luggage, and the Hotel staff kindly helped us with the unloading. They also guided us to the parking lot with great care. We stayed in a rare mountain-side Japanese-style Room at this Hotel. The price was reasonable because the seismic reinforcement was visible from the window. Since it was winter, it got dark quickly, and we closed the curtains, so the seismic reinforcement didn't bother us. However, the heating was the traditional three-level type: low, medium, and high. It was too hot on low, and too cold when turned off, making it difficult to adjust. Dinner was a buffet, featuring a live kitchen for steaks, small bowls of ikura don and negitoro don about the size of chawanmushi, and small plates of sashimi and sushi, making for a rather luxurious dinner. The women were very satisfied with the sweets. The Onsen was divided into indoor and outdoor sections, with different spring qualities. Both were very spacious, and we never felt crowded. The hotter indoor bath was very warming. Towels were provided at the Onsen, so there was no need to bring towels from the Room, making it very convenient to go right after dinner without returning to the Room. Next time, I would like to stay in a sea-side Room.

    It was very good.

    Even though our dinner time was delayed due to traffic, they accommodated us, and we went with a birthday person, so they brought plates, knives, and forks for the cake to the Room. We were very satisfied as we received baked sweets as a birthday present at checkout. The bath and Room were very clean, and the dinner and breakfast were very delicious. I want to visit again.

    A cost-effective Stays

    The view from the Room on the top 6th floor was very nice, overlooking Shirahama. The open-air bath with flowing hot spring water was also excellent! You can choose your favorite dishes for meals, so you can adjust according to your appetite. One disappointing thing was that there was too much food for the children, and because it was a waste, I ended up eating the leftovers, which made me unable to eat sushi and tempura. Some children have a small appetite, so I thought it would be nice if the portion size could be adjusted.

    I was able to relax.

    Over 20 years ago, we used to visit every summer for family trips with the children. The scenery, the pool, and the places we rested remained unchanged, bringing back fond memories. Everything was clean and well-maintained, with no sense of being outdated. The meals in the morning and evening were very delicious, and the bath was spacious and comfortable. As a couple, we were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful view of the sea. We will definitely come back to stay again.
