    A cozy Hotel you can choose with confidence

    This was my third stay. It’s conveniently located near Karuizawa Station, making it easy to go anywhere. There’s a convenience store and a small supermarket right in front, so you won’t have any trouble with quick shopping. The Room is always clean and well maintained, and I had another very comfortable stay this time. The front desk staff provide calm, understated service, but they are very kind and keep a pleasant sense of distance. The lounge offers coffee, tea, and more, and you can relax in the spacious area. It seems a bar has recently opened as well, so I’d like to try it next time. I think this Hotel is easy to use for both solo stays and family trips. My elderly mother also really likes it and says she wants to stay at this Hotel again on our next visit to Karuizawa. Considering the location, cleanliness, comfort, and Accommodation Fee, I’m very satisfied. I think it’s a great value Hotel. I’d love to stay again.

    Perfect for families with children.

    We stayed in a Japanese-Western style room with two preschool children. We liked the simplicity—no large public bath and no breakfast venue. Everything, from bathing to breakfast, could be done without going anywhere, and our kids who toss and turn a lot were able to sleep comfortably on futons while rolling over. The location was also great; we arrived in just a few minutes from Karuizawa Station with a stroller. We didn’t use it, but it was reassuring to have a convenience store right in front of the Accommodation.

    Mostly clear skies

    I went to Karuizawa for a change of pace while talking through a friend’s worries. I chose this Hotel for a girls’ trip, and it was the right choice. The only downside was that the front desk staff forgot to explain the amenities, so I had to go back to the front desk to pick them up. My friend also seemed refreshed in Karuizawa, so we felt almost completely clear-headed and upbeat. We were thrilled with the basket breakfast. The glass bathroom door surprised us, but it was separate from the toilet, which was nice. For two people, the Room was luxuriously spacious, and we were able to relax comfortably. I’d love to stay again.

    My favorite Hotel!

    Standard Double (Non-Smoking) – 1 Night This was my second stay. I had been checking availability for months because I really wanted to stay at this Hotel. It’s close to the station and very clean. The bicycle rental is also a great feature. I was also very happy that there is a relaxing floor on the second floor where you can get drinks! I picked up amenities in front of the front desk and checked in. The front desk staff were very kind and courteous, which reminded me again what a great Hotel this is. Even though I stayed alone, the Room was very spacious and spotless! There was plenty of space to move around even with my suitcase open. I could relax comfortably with the large TV, big table, and sofa. I thought it would be nice to have a mirror in the Room so I could do my makeup in good lighting. (Was there a mirror provided? I looked for one but couldn’t find it.) I rented a bicycle, and it was cheaper than renting elsewhere. The bikes were newer than they were a few years ago and easier to ride. When I visit Karuizawa again, I’d love to stay at this Hotel!

    A convenient Hotel close to the station.

    Since last year, I had decided that if I visited Karuizawa, I would stay at this Accommodation, so I made a Reservation early. It is conveniently located within walking distance of the station, with a convenience store nearby. The price was reasonable, and I’m glad I was able to stay at this Hotel. I stayed two nights in the main building (Standard Double), but the sink and toilet were in the same space, and the toilet lid opened every time I stepped in, which bothered me each time. Also, because the lighting around the sink area is quite dim, it was inconvenient for brushing my teeth and putting on makeup. (I wish there had been a large mirror in the Room.) The bathroom description said something like “the bathroom also has a washing area and is spacious...,” but there was practically no washing area. I felt there are limits to what can be achieved through renovation, so I wondered if choosing the new building might have been better. Also, from the entrance to the 2nd floor where the guest floors are located, you can enter via the stairs without a key. It’s convenient, but it made me wonder whether security is adequate.

    Conveniently located near the station.

    Back in Karuizawa for the first time in decades. The Hotel is close to the station, so we left our luggage and walked to Old Karuizawa. We even managed to get lunch before lining up at a soba restaurant that’s famous for its long queues. The bath has a separate washing area, which I really appreciated. However, in late May, when we arrived at the Hotel after 3 p.m., the air conditioning felt great. We turned it off in the evening. But after getting into bed, I was so cold at midnight that I couldn’t sleep. The heating was centrally controlled and couldn’t be turned on. The front desk is only available until 11 p.m., and I wanted at least an extra blanket—but I didn’t realize until midnight. That day it was 23°C during the day and 11°C at night. If you have a Hotel in Karuizawa, you should know heating is needed at night—this felt inconsiderate. I folded up the duvet and tried to get through the night, but couldn’t sleep. At 7 a.m., they finally brought us a heater. There were good points too, but this was my first time staying at a Hotel where I couldn’t sleep because of the cold.

    Glad I stayed here!

    The Facility was overall clean and well-maintained, which was great. The lounge had a variety of books, offering a refreshing experience. Free drinks and snacks were available, allowing guests to relax by the authentic fireplace while enjoying refreshments—a truly relaxing time after a long while. Regarding the bath, the shower pressure felt slightly weak. As for the toilet, the automatic lid opening feature was convenient; however, it would open and close on its own when standing near the sink, which was slightly unsettling. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

    Close Friends Trio

    First trip in 6 years with three people. It was my friend's birthday on the day, so we planned a surprise cake. We were looking forward to it, but the candles had been lit too early, and they melted to the point where the numbers were completely unrecognizable. We were very disappointed, and the person who delivered it was not friendly either, which made it even more unfortunate.

    Convenient and comfortable.

    Conveniently located in front of JR Karuizawa Station and close to the outlet mall, this Hotel offers great accessibility. For those traveling by car, there is a limited number of "covered" parking spaces, which is a plus for car enthusiasts like me. The guest rooms are highly satisfactory, and I would definitely choose to stay at this Hotel again when visiting Karuizawa.

    It exceeded my expectations.

    The service of delivering breakfast in a basket to the Room was unique, so we chose a Plan with breakfast included. It was nice to enjoy breakfast leisurely in the Room, and it was delicious. We stayed as a family of four in the new building's Japanese-Western style family Room, which was spacious enough. The service was excellent as well. There were guides for nearby restaurants and sightseeing available in the Room, which was very convenient. I think this is a Hotel with exceptional attention to detail in its services. I initially thought it would be a more casual Hotel, but it exceeded my expectations!

    The baby seemed to enjoy spending time freely in the tatami Room. Thank you for lending us baby supplies. The breakfast was absolutely delicious.

    The location is excellent.

    The location, just a 5-minute walk from Karuizawa Station, was appealing, which is why I chose this hotel. Overall, I found it average, but for the following reasons, my satisfaction rating is 2. Reason 1: The attitude of one front desk staff member who assisted me on two consecutive days was cold. When I asked for clarification after not understanding the explanation during check-in, they responded with phrases like "That's why..." or "As I mentioned earlier..." in an expressionless manner. While other front desk and cleaning staff were pleasant and professional, this particular interaction left a strong negative impression. Reason 2: I was informed that welcome drinks and cookies were available in the lounge; however, on all three visits (at different times) during my two-night stay, the box where cookies were supposed to be was empty. Regular inventory checks would ensure that this service reaches all guests as intended. Reason 3: When I asked about sending luggage via courier service, I was told to pack it in my room and carry the box myself to the front desk. Since carrying a packed box of considerable size and weight felt risky for me alone, I asked if packing could be done in the lobby instead. The response indicated that it would get dusty due to heavy traffic from departing guests at checkout time—though there wasn’t anyone else present when I checked—and they also stated that hotel staff wouldn’t assist with carrying items under any circumstances. This lack of support felt unaccommodating compared to other accommodations I've stayed at before. While it's understandable if assisting isn’t part of their policy (though oddly enough they helped bring luggage to rooms upon check-in), providing alternatives such as cart rentals or informing guests about peak busy hours could have been more considerate solutions.

    Enjoyable & Delicious Breakfast

    We stayed here with our relatives after a family wedding. The bath with a washing area was relaxing, and we had a great night's sleep on the comfortable beds. The next morning, we gathered in the lounge with the basket delivered to our Room. The warm soup and bread were absolutely delicious.

    It was great.

    We visited as a family of four and chose Granvert Kyukaruizawa for its convenient location near the station, great value, and excellent service. The balcony was spacious and charming, and the Room was clean, large, and comfortable. Breakfast had an impressive variety with perfect nutritional balance—it was delicious! For dinner, restaurants are about a 15-20 minute walk or around 1,000 yen by taxi from the Hotel. The restaurant we visited had a great atmosphere and was very popular with long lines. Despite this, when we requested to change our dinner time from 7 PM to 6 PM at 4 PM on the same day, they kindly accommodated us—thank you so much! We truly appreciated your hospitality. Thank you again; we hope to stay here again in the future!

    Spacious, comfortable, and pleasant Hotel.

    The room was spacious and comfortable. Although breakfast was not included, I enjoyed a leisurely meal with takeout on the table in the room. The bed, being Simmons, was very comfortable. Both the room and bathroom were thoroughly cleaned and well-maintained, which made for a pleasant stay. The room also had WiFi, allowing for smooth use of mobile devices in a great environment. There was a lounge service offering drinks such as coffee, tea, green tea, caffeine-free juices, and iced rooibos tea with plenty of variety to choose from. As for the location, it was conveniently close to the station for walking or bus travel. I also appreciated being able to visit my favorite supermarket during a stroll nearby. Both staff members and cleaning personnel greeted me warmly with smiles and left a positive impression through their friendly service. One small request: The provided loungewear was placed on top of the bed throw; it would be great if this could be improved in future stays. Overall, it was an excellent Hotel where I could spend my time comfortably—thank you very much!

    Conveniently located near the station! Excellent breakfast included.

    We traveled with my elderly mother, and we were grateful to be assigned a Room on the 1st floor near the elevator. The location was close to the station but on the opposite side of the shopping plaza, allowing for a peaceful stay. The breakfast delivered to our Room in a picnic basket style was absolutely delicious, and being able to enjoy it leisurely in the Room was fantastic.

    Cleaning could be improved.

    The staff had wonderful smiles and voices, providing very pleasant service. Upon entering the Room, it was spacious, and my companion was very satisfied. Breakfast was delivered to the Room, allowing us to enjoy it at a leisurely pace. Since the Hotel has been renovated, I expected a clean Room; however, there were small areas where wallpaper about the size of a pinky finger was peeling off, black stains were visible in some spots, and clumps of dust were scattered under the sink and near the bed. The most concerning issue was that the bathroom was filled with a sewage smell, which surprised me. It might be due to old pipes or improper drainage causing sewer gas to flow directly into the space. Aside from these issues with cleanliness in the Room and bathroom, it was an excellent Hotel overall.

    First Time in Karuizawa

    I chose this accommodation because I wanted a place close to the station with spacious rooms. The dining area with an attached library offered drink service, making it relaxing and comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious, equipped with a washing area and chair, allowing for a very relaxing bath time. After running, I could stretch in the Japanese-style room, which made my stay truly comfortable. Thank you for your hospitality. I am planning to visit again at the end of summer.

    Excellent hospitality

    I found a new and great hotel near Karuizawa Station! Before check-in, they kindly stored my luggage and even said, "We'll deliver your luggage to your room." This was a pleasant surprise as most accommodations only offer front desk storage. On the same floor as the room, there was a lounge and library where you could enjoy apple juice, coffee, and cookies. The room felt slightly small, but the bathroom with a spacious sink area and shower was very comfortable. Breakfast is delivered to your room in a picnic basket at your preferred time. It included an omelet with bacon and sausage, salad, hot soup, three types of bread, fruit, and yogurt drink—plentiful and delicious! I thought it would be the same on the second day but was pleasantly surprised that the bread selection changed from the previous day along with soup (from consommé to corn cream) and even salad dressing. This variety made it enjoyable without getting repetitive. After checking out while waiting for my bus departure time, I asked if I could use the lobby sofa. They kindly offered me access to their second-floor lounge instead—it was very helpful! All staff members were incredibly friendly; I've been visiting Karuizawa every year but now want to make this my regular accommodation. One suggestion: having Japanese breakfast options like rice balls with hot miso soup or tamagoyaki would be fantastic—I’d love to stay for three nights if that were available!

    I felt completely rejuvenated in both body and mind.

    When staying in Karuizawa, Grand Vert is always my top choice, and this time I stayed in the Deluxe Room. Thanks to the high-end shower head and ReFa hair dryer, my skin felt smooth, my hair shiny, and even my pores were thoroughly cleansed—I'm now considering introducing them at home. While there's nothing wrong with what I'm currently using, once you experience ReFa's comfort, it's hard to go back. This time, a microwave was also placed in the lounge, which I used right away. Microwaves are very convenient but not always available in accommodations, so it was a great help. My next visit is planned for autumn; it seems that booking through the website comes with many perks, so I'd like to try that as well.

    A hotel where families can relax and unwind.

    This is my second stay. When searching for a Hotel Room for three family members, it’s often the case that an extra bed is added, and spacious, comfortable Rooms are hard to find. However, the quad Room here is spacious with separate bath and toilet facilities, which we really liked. Breakfast was delivered warm in a basket, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing morning. We will definitely use this Hotel again for our family trips.

    The Room was very clean and comfortable. The front desk staff provided a very positive impression. Having a supermarket and convenience store right in front was extremely convenient. We could let our child sleep safely in the Japanese-style zone of the Japanese-Western Room. We would love to visit again!

    I'm glad I went!

    It was a last-minute reservation in Karuizawa, and I was lucky to find availability. As always, staying at my usual hotel gives me peace of mind. I was thrilled with how wonderful the room was this time. I was able to relax and refresh! This is the place to stay when you come to Karuizawa!

    Even though we were finally in Karuizawa.

    I expected weekend rates to be higher, but the Facility and service were the worst. Facility: Although it has been renovated, the bidet function on the toilet seat did not work. The washroom was also dark due to indirect lighting. I understand that the air conditioning is centrally controlled for the whole building, but during this three-day holiday it was extremely hot, and I felt hot while sleeping. Service: Overall explanations were hard to understand, so please provide staff training on how to explain Earn Points.

    I keep coming back because of the great location.

    I stayed here again for a walk around Karuizawa. The location is great, and the Room is clean and easy to use, so I keep coming back. This was my first time bringing my mother in a wheelchair. It was nice that there were no steps in parts of the Room, but since there wasn’t enough space to turn the wheelchair inside, it was a bit difficult. I would be happy if you had an accessible (barrier-free) Room. Also, when I went to get the free drinks, neither of the two coffee machines worked—perhaps they were out of hot water—so no coffee came out. It would be helpful if you could check the remaining levels regularly. All in all, it’s in the best location and the staff are very pleasant, so I will stay again. Thank you very much.
