    The flooring feels comfortable.

The floors throughout the Ryokan were comfortable to walk on barefoot, making it feel like home. I completely understood why rolling suitcases are not allowed. I could really appreciate the owner’s attention to detail, and I thought it was wonderful. The location was excellent, and the meals were delicious.

    Although the buildin...

Although the building seems old, it was well maintained and I had a relaxing stay. Both breakfast and dinner were very delicious. It’s close to Amanohashidate, so I also enjoyed an early-morning walk.

    It was a lovely accommodation.

Although the building was old, it was kept very clean, so we had a comfortable stay. After enjoying sightseeing at Amanohashidate, we took a bath and enjoyed delicious crab dishes until we were full—very satisfying. We also appreciated the Ryokan owner’s perfectly balanced hospitality—attentive without being intrusive. Next time, we will visit again with our daughter who loves crab.

A place that keeps the charm of the Showa era alive.

This was a Ryokan built in 1928. The Room, bath, and other areas were kept very clean and well maintained, making it extremely comfortable. I refrained from using my suitcase on the floor because I didn’t want to scratch it. The service and meals were excellent. We usually travel to Hokuriku at the end of the year for crab dishes, but we never expected to enjoy crab at this time of year in March, so we were very satisfied. Thank you very much.

Both the full crab course and the Accommodation were excellent!

Not that I had any complaints about the crab full-course meal at the Accommodation we visited last year, but this time we were satisfied with the crab full course as well! The Room was clean, and it even had a toilet with a washlet. It was warm and comfortable even without a kotatsu. The bath isn’t huge, but it never felt crowded, so we could relax and take our time. There was also coffee available to enjoy freely, and even breakfast was delicious—truly a very cozy Accommodation. Amanohashidate is close by too, which made us want to visit again in a different season. Lastly, a request from my crab-loving husband: there’s so much crab you can’t help it, but he’d like to savor it more slowly—and he also wants to try regular crab miso as well. I was too busy eating to ask at the time, so I regret not asking how to eat the crab shabu so the meat spreads out nicely.

An accommodation where you can enjoy a full meal of crab.

The accommodation, built 98 years ago, has renovated rooms that are clean and comfortable. Although access to the third floor is via stairs, the polished and spacious staircase made it easy to go up and down. The lounge features a De'Longhi coffee maker, allowing guests to enjoy coffee anytime. Small trays are also provided for convenience if you wish to take your drink back to your room. Both the rooms and dining areas have underfloor heating, ensuring a pleasant stay. The sunset view from the sunken kotatsu was stunning. However, when going to the bath area, it would have been convenient if there were baskets provided for carrying towels like bath towels or hand towels. One issue in the room was with the mirror in the washroom—it was installed at a high position horizontally and did not reflect my face due to my height. Although there was a small portable mirror available, it wasn’t very practical. My husband found that his pillow didn’t suit him; having multiple pillow options would be ideal. Additionally, we noticed that the air conditioner remote control batteries seemed worn out as we had to adjust them frequently for it to work properly. For dinner featuring crab dishes, we enjoyed an abundance of delicious crab until we were full—crab miso being our favorite! However, during crab shabu-shabu service by an elderly staff member who demonstrated how to peel one leg but left us peeling all others ourselves—and making our own porridge—was surprising and slightly inconvenient as well as disappointing since the porridge lacked any crab flavoring entirely! Another inconvenience arose because fresh hand towels weren’t automatically replaced unless requested. Breakfast appeared simple yet tasty from my perspective (as female), whereas according-to-my-husband’s opinion resembled ordinary home-cooked meals instead-of something special expected-at-accommodation-levels. Despite some inconveniences mentioned above overall impression remains positive given attention paid towards details throughout property alongside unbeatable value-for-money opportunity indulging unlimited-crab feast within reasonable pricing range!

    Crab dishes are exceptional!

The crab dishes were very satisfying for the price. This was my second visit, and it was just as delicious as the first time. The Room and bath were comfortable. I will use your services again, so thank you in advance.

It was the perfect accommodation for sightseeing in Amanohashidate.

The accommodation is located across the bay, accessible by sightseeing boat from JR Amanohashidate Station. It is not in the vicinity of JR Amanohashidate Station. I was informed of this via email after making the reservation, which was very helpful. From the outside, it looks like an old Japanese house, but once you step inside, it has been beautifully renovated and feels very clean. At the same time, they have preserved the cozy atmosphere of a wooden structure, making it a comfortable space to stay in. The meals were filled with seasonal crab dishes that left me completely satisfied. The crab was so fresh and easy to peel that I enjoyed every bite without hesitation. They kindly mentioned, "If you're cold, feel free to use the blankets in the closet," but surprisingly enough, my room was so warm that I didn’t need them at all. The onsen also provided just the right amount of warmth for my body. I appreciated having MUJI cleansing products and lotion available—it made me happy! Although I usually struggle to sleep with different pillows when traveling, they accommodated my request for firmer pillows and even provided a humidifier—thank you so much! Thanks to their thoughtfulness, I slept soundly through the night. It’s clear how thoroughly everything has been cleaned down to every corner. I hope they create a single-person accommodation plan on their official website—I would love to visit again! Thank you for your hospitality!

    A quiet and peaceful...

A quiet and peaceful accommodation with few guests. Although the building seems quite old, the room and bath were clean and comfortable. Dinner was a feast of crab dishes, leaving us full and very satisfied. The crab miso and grilled crab were especially delicious. For breakfast, the rice was particularly tasty. The location is convenient for sightseeing, as it is close to the cable car station. This accommodation is recommended for those who want to relax and unwind.

Accommodation with great views and a comfortable atmosphere

This spring, I visited this accommodation with my relatives and had a wonderful experience with beautiful scenery and delicious meals, so I made a reservation for the first day of crab season this time. I stayed in the "Ichiman-jaku" room on the third floor, where Amanohashidate was visible up close, and the sea and mountains looked like a painting through the large windows. The retro building has been renovated into modern rooms with beds, while preserving its historical charm in dining areas and lounges. The onsen dedicated to Kannon-sama was warm and comfortable. For dinner, we enjoyed a full crab course prepared in various ways along with delicious local sake, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed as well. We loved one of the sakes served during our stay so much that we visited its brewery recommended by the hostess on our way back home to purchase more varieties—thank you! This has become an accommodation we want to visit every year. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Amanohashidate Trip

I was unsure where to stay during my trip to Amanohashidate, one of Japan's three scenic views, but this accommodation turned out to be a perfect choice. After a short walk from Amanohashidate Station, I boarded the ferry and enjoyed the boat ride. Upon disembarking, it was just a few steps to the accommodation. It was very convenient for sightseeing spots like Kasamatsu Park after leaving my luggage there. The building is an aged wooden structure without an elevator, but its charm provided a relaxing atmosphere. The dining area and lounge for coffee were beautifully designed spaces. Both dinner and breakfast were standard yet satisfying with fresh sashimi and beautifully marbled meat in generous portions—it was almost too much to finish! Since it was new rice season, the rice tasted exceptional! The hosts were welcoming with just the right balance of attentiveness, making for a pleasant stay. I stayed on the third floor where I could enjoy stunning views of Aso Bay and Amanohashidate’s scenery, including breathtaking evening and night views. In the morning, I strolled through Amanohashidate’s pine forest before exploring Monju area upon returning—making this trip truly fulfilling. This has become one of my favorite accommodations that I would love to visit again!

Accommodation with Delicious Meals and Warm Service

We visited as a couple to see Amanohashidate. The location is perfect, right in front of the ferry terminal on the opposite shore of Amanohashidate. We enjoyed strolling along Amanohashidate, taking the cable car up for a "view through your legs," visiting shrines and temples, and fully experiencing the beauty of Amanohashidate. You can also enjoy a close view of Amanohashidate from your room. Although we were initially concerned about carrying luggage up steep stairs as mentioned in reviews, it turned out to be no issue at all. The building's traditional design has been beautifully modernized with thoughtful touches throughout, which made our stay even more delightful. The Onsen had excellent water quality and was very relaxing. Above all, the meals were delicious—both dinner and breakfast exceeded our expectations. We would love to visit again during crab season in winter. Thank you so much!

    Lovely Accommodation

My brother and his wife came to visit our home in Kansai while sightseeing at the Expo, and since they wanted to see Amanohashidate, we booked this accommodation early for its reputed scenic views. We chose rooms with beds on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The historic accommodation has been modernly renovated, offering spacious designs with large windows overlooking Amanohashidate, providing a relaxing stay. Dinner included a generous serving of fresh sashimi platter and wagyu shabu-shabu, which were both delicious and perfectly paired with local sake and wine. The beautiful onsen is said to be connected to the waters of Nariaiji Temple's Kannon statue, which felt meaningful as I had previously completed the Saigoku 33 Kannon pilgrimage. Located right in front of the sightseeing boat dock, it was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. My brother and his wife enjoyed an early morning walk around Amanohashidate and were very satisfied with their stay at this wonderful accommodation. The owner was kind and attentive; we would love to visit again during another season!

    Enjoy Crab Season Twice

My spouse and I always go on crab trips at least twice during the crab season. This time, we were unsure about choosing a Ryokan in Amanohashidate, but we are extremely satisfied with our choice. The quantity and quality of the crab, the delicious sake, and the comfortable atmosphere were all excellent! The quality of the bathwater was outstanding. Although it was a bit disappointing that there was no open-air bath, we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect—right in front of the sightseeing boat dock and souvenir shops—which made us very happy. We both agreed that we would love to stay here again when visiting Amanohashidate. Thank you so much! The lounge had an indescribably calm ambiance with soft background music that felt stylish and soothing.

Feel at home at our cozy Stays.

Great location in front of the sightseeing boat terminal. We stayed on the third floor at Ichimanjaku, and the view was fantastic. The building has been renovated in a clean and modern Japanese style, making it feel fresh despite its 90-year history. The meals were crab-centric and quite plentiful, perhaps too much for someone in their 60s. The bath had an excellent quality of spring water; if I were to be greedy, I would have liked an open-air bath with a view of Amanohashidate, but that's just a wish. Thank you for the warm and hospitable service.

    The crab was delicious!

The exterior is an old building, but the rooms have been modernly renovated with the latest facilities. The mattress is comfortable, and the sheets and covers feel great, providing a very pleasant sleep. The crab feast dinner was delicious, offering various cooking methods of crab. It was worth visiting this season to enjoy crab. The owner and all the staff were pleasant, and I am glad I chose this property.

    Homey Kamikazero

Thank you very much for taking care of us. The room was spacious, very clean, and we were able to relax. The meals were very luxurious and everything was delicious. The rice, in particular, was shiny and exceptionally tasty. Near Kamikazero, there is a ropeway and lift where you can do the "mata-nozoki" (peeking through the legs), and we were able to leave our car and enjoy sightseeing. We were grateful for that. There is also a shrine of the Dragon God, and we thoroughly enjoyed Amanohashidate. We were really well taken care of. Thank you very much. If I ever want to see Amanohashidate again, I would love to stay with you!
