    Family-friendly travel

    The food was very delicious. It was also great that desserts were all-you-can-take, and we could bring them back to the Room and enjoy them at our leisure. The baths were fun as the whole family could use them together, and there were three types. However, the outdoor bath had poor drainage, and on the way out there was a puddle all the way to where you take off your slippers, which was inconvenient. Also, because the towels are quite thin, they get soaked if you use the baths multiple times. It was a wonderful pension that truly reflected the owner’s warm personality.

    It was a wonderful trip.

    This was our first stay as a family trip. The meals, the baths, and the hospitality were all extremely satisfying. Every dish was made with local ingredients, and the seasoning brought out the natural flavors—exactly to our taste. We also enjoyed relaxing in the log-cabin-style restaurant while looking out at the garden. We used only the open-air bath. Even though it was raining, the water temperature was just right and helped us unwind. *Since it’s completely outdoors, those who dislike insects may want to avoid it in summer—they do fly around. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much for everything.

    After finding large hotels and ryokans less suitable as I aged, I stayed at a pension for the first time in about 40 years. While the building and facilities are not new, they exude a sense of calmness and were impeccably clean, allowing for a comfortable stay. We stayed in a Japanese-Western style room, which was spacious enough for two people. From the photos on their website, I initially thought meals would be served on one plate with relatively small portions; however, they turned out to be quite substantial. For meat dishes, we ordered both roast beef and steak—each had its own unique appeal. **Highlights of Attention to Detail:** - All rooms have bay windows where items can be placed, keeping desks tidy and making it easier to relax.     It was my first stay...

    It was my first stay at a pension in decades, and it was incredibly comfortable. I had been curious about this pension for a long time... I wish I had stayed here sooner. The food was delicious, the Onsen was perfect, and on top of that, the free desserts after dinner, massage chairs, and a wide selection of manga books made for an absolutely blissful time.

    The meals are excellent.

    I stayed for one night during my trip. As mentioned in other reviews, the meals were outstanding—both breakfast and dinner, including dessert. The building itself is not new, but it is very well-maintained and clean, making for a comfortable stay. The location is in a residential area (or perhaps a villa area?), so there isn’t much to do around the pension itself. However, it’s an excellent place to enjoy meals at the pension and relax. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me want to visit again. Thank you for your hospitality!

    A place you'll want to visit again.

    Stayed as a family of four, including my wife, one elementary school child, and one preschooler. While the building shows its age, it was clean and comfortable with no unpleasant feelings. The accommodation seemed popular with families like ours, so we occasionally heard children's voices or crying from our room, but it wasn’t bothersome as it felt mutual. (We slept peacefully at night.) The baths were excellent; the most popular open-air bath was especially relaxing. There were also kid-friendly baths available. Although all private baths were non-reservable, we didn’t experience any inconvenience. Meals were served on a single plate and were delicious. There was also an all-you-can-eat selection of small desserts that left us very satisfied. The staff were incredibly kind—quickly assisting me when I needed help and being very friendly to our children. The price was reasonable, and considering there are accommodations that charge more than double yet fail to satisfy, this stay exceeded expectations!

    Thank you for your hospitality the other day. We had booked a no-breakfast plan as we planned to play golf, but due to rain, we couldn't play and requested breakfast at the last minute. You accommodated us so kindly. As mentioned in many reviews, the roast beef dinner was excellent, but what impressed us even more were the beautifully roasted vegetables accompanying it—absolutely delicious! My husband opted for steak instead, which was tender and very flavorful. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner while sipping on drinks and admiring the rain-soaked garden outside. Breakfast was also delightful—the original granola and slightly cinnamon-scented French toast were outstanding! The two types of bread served were so delicious that I wanted to purchase them; however, due to our schedule, I couldn't buy them this time. Next time, I will definitely take some home. On arrival, we were upgraded to a larger Japanese-Western style room as it was available that day. While toothbrushes and yukata are not provided without an additional fee and only basic amenities are available in the room, this approach feels fitting for modern times. The room may not be new but is clean and well-prepared; combined with the wonderfully warming onsen facilities, it allowed us to relax fully. Next time we stay after playing golf, I look forward to soaking again in that slightly hot hinoki bath at leisure. Thank you so much for your kind attention during our stay—it truly made a difference! It seems there are many repeat guests here; after experiencing such amazing dinners and breakfasts ourselves, it's easy to understand why people return again and again. We will definitely visit again soon!

    All staff are friendly, making it perfect for families with children.

    We stayed for a multiple night stay with our 3-year-old and 5-month-old baby. The entire facility, including the entrance, room, and Onsen, was impeccably clean. The meals were carefully prepared and incredibly delicious. The mini desserts afterward were all-you-can-eat, could be enjoyed in the room, and came in small portions with a variety of options—so we ended up eating quite a lot! It was also great that drinks like barley tea were available 24/7. With a thermal pot provided, it was easy to prepare milk anytime. There were three baths available for private use whenever they weren’t occupied, which was very convenient for families with children. The open-air bath had an amazing atmosphere and view. The jet bath even had toys for kids to enjoy while bathing. Baby chairs, baby soap, foot mats, and other thoughtful amenities made it very user-friendly. On the first floor restroom, there were sanitary products as well as diapers in various sizes prepared. There was also a kids' space with toys at the corner of the dining area—these thoughtful touches are highly appreciated by families. I forgot detergent and sponges to wash baby bottles but asked if they could help wash them—and they kindly agreed! For two days straight they helped us clean the bottles; we are truly grateful. All staff members were extremely polite and kind—it was such a wonderful experience staying here. Thank you so much!

    The service was excellent, and we had a very comfortable stay. Both breakfast and dinner were especially delicious, which greatly added to our satisfaction. This Accommodation is also highly recommended for mature couples like us.

    It exceeded expectations.

    The experience exceeded the Review ratings. The meals and Onsen were, of course, exceptional, but it was the warm hospitality of the owner and staff that allowed us to forget our daily busyness and truly relax. We were especially impressed by the thoughtful touches for children, such as a menu designed to delight them (each dish seemed carefully considered), playground equipment in front of the pension, and a play area in the dining space. We would love to visit again!

    Highly recommended for families with children.

    The building may appear old, but it was impeccably clean and did not bother us at all. Although it is a small-scale accommodation, the services were excellent, including free drinks and a manga corner. Even if something ran out, it was quickly replenished upon request, making our stay very comfortable. In front of the building, there is a small playground with equipment for children to play on. Next to the entrance toilet, diapers in various sizes are provided. A baby bath was drying in the hallway leading to the bath area. The free drink section at breakfast featured low refrigerators with small bottles sealed individually so that even young children could choose and carry them without spilling. This accommodation felt very family-friendly for those traveling with babies or young children. The open-air bath offered a great view of the river below. When we visited at the end of March—a transitional season—the camellias were nearing their end; however, I imagine early summer, autumn, or snowy seasons would offer an even more special experience. Every meal we had was delicious! The rice served during dinner was exceptionally good—whether due to its quality or how it was cooked—and even our daughter who usually doesn’t eat much rice finished her portion first! The roast beef and abundant appetizers were also delightful. After dinner came an impressive variety of desserts; despite only two groups staying that night, there were rows upon rows of mini desserts in the refrigerator—it made me wonder about profitability but left us amazed nonetheless! Even though we were full from dinner already, we couldn’t resist indulging again. The bread served at breakfast was also incredibly tasty; since we couldn’t finish everything during breakfast time itself, they kindly let us take some home as souvenirs. One note: pajamas and toothbrushes are not complimentary—they come with an additional charge—so bringing your own is recommended (similar reasoning as reusable shopping bag charges).

    It will be an undeniably perfect time!

    This was my first time using this service! The warm hospitality of the staff, the delicious food, the Onsen, everything was perfect! Especially the food!! The exquisite roast beef is a must-try for anyone considering it! For the first time, I felt like I wanted to come back to the same place!

    The staff is truly excellent.

    Stayed as a birthday present for him. The staff were all very kind and wonderful people. Since our tires were not for snow, we took the Shinkansen and bus, and when we asked if a taxi could take us to a nearby farm, they kindly offered to drive us there, and we had a pleasant conversation along the way. When we mentioned at payment that we came for his birthday, they remembered and gave us a souvenir, which was truly touching. The room was very spacious with both a bed and futon. The view from the room was charming with lights, and at night, the stars were beautifully visible. The restroom was spacious and clean, making it comfortable to use. For meals, we changed one to steak and enjoyed both roast beef and steak, which were very tender and delicious. All the other dishes were also very tasty and stylish. There were various desserts that we could eat in the room, and they were so delicious that we ended up eating a lot. We were able to enjoy all three types of onsen. Each changing room had lotion, shaving foam, a hairdryer, and bath mats, making them very convenient to use. The onsen and washing area were spacious, and there was a bath with two showers, making it very convenient for two people to wash at the same time. The water was very pleasant, and the open-air bath had a great view. I forgot to take a picture of the jet bath onsen... I was impressed that such wonderful service could be received at this price. I would like to use Sanpomichi again when I go to Nasu-Shiobara. Thank you for allowing us to have a wonderful time!

    Delicious cuisine and private Onsen

    We had a pleasant stay with delicious meals and a private onsen. Among the dishes, the roast beef and French toast were particularly outstanding. We were amazed by the variety of desserts at the buffet. There are three types of onsen, and it was great to have them all to ourselves during our bath. We appreciated being able to check the availability of the onsen from the tablet on the second floor, showing thoughtful consideration for guests. If we visit the Nasu area again, we would definitely like to stay at this property.

    A highly satisfying stay

    I wanted to enjoy a delicious meal and a nice bath while sightseeing in Nasu, but I thought resort hotels and luxury stays were a bit much, so I used this place. In conclusion, it was a very satisfying pension. (My image of pensions has changed.) Location → It's relatively close to the IC and near leisure facilities, so access is good. It's just a little off the main road, so I didn't get lost. Exterior → The clean brick-like exterior walls and well-maintained landscaping in the clear air of Nasu are pleasant. Guest Room → Since it's a pension, the room is at the level of a normal business hotel, but there are subtle high points like a Daikin air conditioner and a DVD player. (There's no safe, so be careful about that.) Amenities → It's delightful that barley tea, coffee, and water are available 24 hours a day. There are two massage chairs available for free, perfect for relieving the fatigue of a long journey. There are also some comics, board games, and children's anime DVDs on the landing, so there are things to pass the time. Bath → I think this is one of the selling points of this property. There are three types: cypress, jet, and open-air, available for private use 24 hours a day, and since there aren't many rooms, they can be used quite frequently. The other baths also have windows that can be opened and closed on two sides, allowing for a semi-open-air experience. I recommend the early morning bath, where you can soak while watching the Nasu highlands brighten, which is exceptional. Meals → Although I am plump, I think this is another selling point of this property. The appetizers are all high-level, and the roast beef is melt-in-your-mouth delicious. It seems you can change to steak, but first, please try the roast beef! Also, desserts are all-you-can-eat, and you can take them back to your room to enjoy slowly with tea. There is a variety, and it was a challenge to conquer all types. Breakfast is also fully satisfying with a hearty menu and French toast. Service → It wasn't the overly close distance typical of pensions, and the service was considerate and pleasant. Others → It's a bit pricey for a pension, but because of that, the other guests were also considerate, so noise wasn't a concern. There are also playground equipment in the garden, so I think it's safe for families with small children.

    The Onsen and meals were good.

    I decided to stay here because of the good reviews. There are three types of private onsens, and I enjoyed different baths before dinner, after dinner, and the next morning. Including the view from the onsen, it was very good. I chose the course with dinner, and the steak was very delicious, and I was extremely satisfied with the meal. I think the portion size would fill anyone up. Rice was available for free refills. It was my oversight that there were no amenities, but I would have appreciated having a toothbrush included.
