    A Hotel that Exceeds Its Price

    This was my first stay at this Hotel. As mentioned in Reviews, the building does show its age, but parts have been renovated, so it didn’t bother me much. Since I made a Reservation the day before, I was able to stay at a very reasonable rate. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting too much, but I ended up being very satisfied. Dinner was a kaiseki course. The presentation was beautiful, and each dish was delicious. The standard course might feel a bit light for some men. Alcoholic drinks were slightly pricey at around 900 yen, but as an IKYU Diamond member benefit, I received one complimentary drink, which I appreciated. Breakfast was a Japanese set meal and was also very good. Miso soup, rice, nori seaweed, and natto were available for refills. One thing that stood out was the morning coffee. There is only one machine so it gets crowded, and it also had issues that required restarting at times, so it took quite a while to get coffee. Many guests likely want coffee in the morning, so I would be happy if options such as serving it from a pot could be considered. The Room had no unpleasant odors and felt very clean. However, the lighting was a bit dim and made my eyes feel tired when using my phone or watching TV. The restaurant lighting was also somewhat dim and made the food harder to see. A small lamp on each table might help guests enjoy the dishes even more. The open-air bath (rotenburo) was wonderful just as shown in the photos. Healing music played as well, which made it very relaxing. Even when I bathed alone at night, having music playing kept it from feeling lonely and allowed me to enjoy the Onsen slowly. There wasn’t any toner in the changing area (dressing room), but lotion and cleansing products were provided. Above all else, what stayed with me most was how pleasant all of the staff were—their warm hospitality really stood out. Considering the price, this stay exceeded my expectations and allowed me to relax. I would definitely like to visit again.

    Great value for money

    The bathroom facilities felt a bit dated, and I was concerned about mold. Still, the price with meals included felt like a great deal!! However, there were issues with how the restaurant was managed. Dinner was run in two seatings, and because many guests arrived at once, drinks and meals were slow to be served. It felt like switching to four seatings might help. The open-air bath had few people—very quiet and clean. It was incredibly relaxing. I’d love to have a sauna too.

    Indoor Dog Run Hours

    There is an indoor dog run in front of the front desk, and it is available until 11:00 PM. Dog barking can be heard throughout the building until that time. At most other properties, the typical closing time is 10:00 PM. For common courtesy, it should be changed to close by 10:00 PM.

    A Comfortable Stay for You and Your Dog

    Although it seemed nearly fully booked, we had a very comfortable stay! The indoor dog run was air-conditioned, so we didn’t need to take walks in the heat. The Onsen also featured an authentic open-air bath that warmed us through to the core. Above all, the staff’s hospitality was exceptional—they welcomed us on arrival and saw us off at departure, making it a truly wonderful memory.

    The main building st...

    The main building staff were very welcoming, everything was clean, and the breakfast was delicious. We stayed in a cottage. It was described as having a small dog run, but there were many large stones and pieces of glass on the ground, and most of it was dirt rather than grass. The dog run by the main building was very well maintained, and our dog had a great time running around!

    Perfect for traveling with your dog!

    This was my first stay. It seems the property has just been renovated, and the lobby and open-air bath were very clean! The open-air bath was a bit of a walk, but it was perfect for a leisurely stroll. There was a huge indoor dog run in the lobby that guests could use freely! The Room had an ocean view with an amazing景色! I had heard there are many repeat guests, and now I completely understand why. The restaurant and front desk staff were also courteous, making this a wonderful memory. Thank you!

    Thank you for your support.

    Very disappointing. My dog’s name was never called even once, and check-in took a long time—far from being truly dog-first. Although it was reasonably priced, the property was under renovation and I couldn’t use the bath at my preferred time, which left a bad aftertaste.

    I stayed in late Nov...

    I stayed in late November. I was satisfied with the corner Room, the bed, the dog run, and the amenities for my dog. There were pet pads and waste bags available throughout the property, which was very helpful. The artificial-turf dog run on the second floor was clean, spacious, and great. One of the reasons I chose this Accommodation was that it also has an indoor dog run in case of rain. However, one disappointing point was that there is an indoor dog run in front of the front desk, and it smelled strongly of urine. The entire front desk area was filled with a urine odor, so strong that it was hard to browse souvenirs at the gift corner. There were no issues at all in my Room or other areas, so if measures could be taken to address the odor at the front desk only, I would like to stay again!

    A Trip with Your Dog

    I traveled with my dog for a one-person, one-dog trip. The indoor dog run was equipped with toys to ensure dogs could have fun. We stayed in a cottage this time, but the location of the cottage was very difficult to find. The map provided was unclear, and navigating the narrow roads without hitting anything was quite challenging. The cottage offered access to an Onsen and had amenities for dogs in the room, which were great. However, the cottage itself felt old. In the morning, there was no Onsen water available, which wasn’t mentioned in the facility description. Many of the staff members seemed experienced and comfortable around dogs.

    We stayed at the cottage. The road leading to the cottage had some narrow sections that made it difficult to pass oncoming cars, and the parking area was slightly challenging to use. Other than that, everything was great. The interior was clean and well-maintained, making our stay comfortable.

    The Onsen was excellent.

    It was my first time staying here. The Hotel has a slightly old feel, but the lobby, Room, and bath were all clean overall. The front desk staff provided excellent service and answered my questions with a smile, which was very pleasant. However, it was disappointing that the attitude of the middle-aged man serving during dinner was very poor. He showed no smile and responded rudely when I asked him to clear the dishes by saying something like "Oh yes, yes, just wait," with an unpleasant expression on his face. (I had spoken to him on his way back from taking orders and he wasn’t carrying many plates or anything.) Since the front desk staff and other dining area staff were so friendly and pleasant, this behavior stood out even more negatively in comparison. Additionally, while the food tasted good overall, it was unfortunate that fried food came out at the very end of the meal. It should have been served after other dishes like sashimi or hot pot but instead arrived right before dessert after we had already finished everything else—making us lose interest in eating it altogether... Other tables seemed equally puzzled with comments like "Fried food now...?" I understand that things can get busy in the kitchen but hope they can better manage serving timing in future. The free photo studio event offering one complimentary photo was delightful! They captured our dog running around at the dog run beautifully; their photography skills were impressive! We couldn’t choose just one free photo and ended up purchasing all data—it became such a wonderful memory for us! Although there were some disappointing aspects during our stay, overall satisfaction outweighed them!

    I had a wonderful birthday memory.

    We visited to celebrate our dog's first birthday. Even though we checked in late at night, the front desk staff and the photo studio team warmly welcomed us. They took many wonderful photos, making it a truly memorable birthday celebration. Thank you so much! There were various play areas prepared, and our dog was absolutely delighted! We had such a great time.

    The pool where you can enjoy together is a highlight.

    I have been visiting for swimming since I was 3 years old, for a total of 10 years. Now at 13, I can no longer swim long distances, but this pool is great because humans can join in too, which is reassuring. The meals for humans are delicious, and the Bali resort-style baths are absolutely wonderful.

    The cottage had a musty smell and there were spiders.

    I usually consider myself neither overly clean nor a germaphobe, just average. This was my first time using this accommodation. Since it was during the summer vacation period and options were limited, I stayed in one of the cottages (as there were no vacancies in the main building). As mentioned in other reviews, perhaps this building is not used regularly—it had a strong musty smell. I regret not checking the reviews more carefully beforehand. Although there were several rooms available, I chose to sleep in the least smelly one. However, I couldn't help but worry that the bedding might have been left unused in storage for too long, which led to sleeplessness and left me feeling exhausted. It would have been nice if an air purifier or some measures had been taken beforehand. Additionally, while preparing dinner, we found a spider about 10 cm large near the refrigerator. Although spiders are said to be beneficial insects, my children were terrified and caused quite a commotion until we dealt with it. Later that night when turning on the kitchen light again, another spider was spotted on the wall; however, since my children were asleep by then, I let it be. The dinner plan required us to cook ourselves. While plates and spoons as well as ingredients were provided for us—which was helpful—there weren’t any dishcloths or kitchen paper available for cleaning up surfaces or wiping dishes; we ended up using tissues instead. The food itself was delicious! Breakfast offered variety and allowed dogs to accompany their owners—this aspect was great! The staff members were all kind and approachable; their hospitality left a positive impression. However... I've learned that choosing accommodations carefully is essential for creating enjoyable memories!

    Photo service is excellent.

    I was drawn to the L-size photo service and decided to have my picture taken. The photographer's skills were excellent, and the results turned out so well that I ended up purchasing the data for 10,000 yen. It became a wonderful memory, and I am very satisfied.

    It was my first time...

    It was my first time staying, but I was able to relax and enjoy my time. In the evening, there was a nice breeze, so we could play in the outdoor dog run, which was great. I also felt at ease as I could stay with my dog during meals. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much!

    Although it was unfortunately rainy, the Hotel was comfortable.

    Feeling a bit down due to the rain, we were delighted to find both indoor and outdoor dog runs available for use. We also had the chance to interact with other families traveling with pets and exchange various information. The Room was equipped with pet-friendly amenities such as dishes, toilet trays, and sheets. For dinner, I had made a prior request regarding my allergies, and I appreciated receiving a call in advance to confirm details. Thanks to this thoughtful service, I enjoyed a delicious meal without worry. Breakfast was served buffet-style with plenty of options; my husband mentioned he wished he could try everything but found it too much! Pet meals are also available for order. Additionally, pets can enjoy Child Sharing Existing Bedding under the condition that they wear diaper pants—these can be purchased at the self-service shop if forgotten. The unmanned shop is open 24 hours, making it convenient for selecting souvenirs at leisure. Although we initially booked a standard Room, the front desk kindly offered us an upgrade to a suite since one was available—at no extra charge! It was our pet's first overnight stay ever but seemed thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you very much!

    Thank you for the hospitality of the staff.

    It was a trip with my beloved dog, who is almost 17 years old, after a long time. The Room was spacious and well-maintained, allowing both my dog and me to relax. All the other dogs were well-behaved, so we could spend our time comfortably. We also had some lovely photos taken and plan to buy a frame to keep them as a memory. If my dog stays healthy next year, I would love to visit again.

    I was satisfied.

    The building itself doesn't feel very new, but the Room was modern and very clean. We chose a low bedding modern Japanese-style Room for our senior dog. Our dog felt secure as the family was always at eye level and comfortably slept in the space between the futons. The underground parking was convenient, especially since the weather was bad. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of delicious options. It would have been nice to have more types of bread, but overall we were very satisfied!

    The image is different from that of IKYU.

    Upon entering the room, I was surprised to find a security camera. It felt like being constantly watched, making it hard to relax. The actual appearance of the cottage was completely different from the photos on IKYU.com. It was old and smelled musty—perhaps stylish in the Showa era. The living room was on the second floor, while the toilet and bath were on the first floor with steep stairs in between. There were no lace curtains on the front window of the second floor, leaving everything visible from outside. I had been looking forward to staying at this cottage with an Onsen, but unfortunately, the blinds in the bathroom were broken and left it exposed to view from outside. My teenage daughter refused to bathe because of this issue; we had no choice but to hang a sheet over the window for privacy before using it ourselves. The quality of Onsen water itself was excellent, which made it all more disappointing. For meals, we chose a seafood course that included items such as turban shells (sazae), red shrimp (akaebi), dried horse mackerel (aji), scallops (hotate), vegetables, meat cuts including sausages/sausages alongside yakisoba noodles & grilled rice balls served alongside plain white rice too! However excessive carbs seemed unnecessary given limited space provided via small hotplate alone where cooking everything simultaneously proved impossible instead requiring use kitchen facilities equipped w/frying pans/pots etc., though lacking essentials like dish towels/wiping cloths forcing us resorting bath-towels repurposed instead! Overall experience left much desired especially considering expectations set booking through IKYU platform itself raised concerns regarding necessity placing surveillance cameras within private accommodations?

    It was great.

    The building is old, and some parts of the room seemed to remain as they were before, but everything was clean and we had a relaxing stay. The meals included dishes like sakura shrimp chawanmushi and Ise lobster sashimi, offering a taste of Izu. Since this is an accommodation where you can stay with your dog, we honestly didn’t have high expectations for the meals or onsen, but it exceeded our expectations for the price. There were many dogs staying as well, which made it enjoyable, and it was nice to chat with other pet owners. We look forward to visiting again soon!

    First-time Use

    This was my first time staying here. I believe this accommodation is entirely focused on being dog-friendly, as you can walk around the hotel with your dog without any issues. The room was very spacious and comfortable enough for a family of four and one Shiba Inu. The entire Izu Kogen area has a welcoming concept for visitors with dogs, making it easy to enjoy places like lunch spots and roadside stations. However, if you're expecting onsen or meals similar to those at typical onsen ryokan in Hakone or Atami, you might feel slightly disappointed.

    This was our fourth visit, and we are very satisfied. Not only is it cost-effective with delicious meals, but the staff are also kind, and all guests are dog-friendly, making it a comfortable stay.     We created the best memories.

    I stayed for one night and two days for the first time. Due to highway traffic, I checked in at 6 PM and couldn't use the outdoor dog run with natural grass available until 6 PM. However, there was a second-floor outdoor dog run with artificial turf open until 9 PM and an indoor dog run available 24 hours, which made it very pet-friendly. I was happy that we could have photos of our dog taken at the photo studio, with up to two photos provided as a free service. For dinner, we chose Japanese kaiseki cuisine. It was great that we could bring our dog to the restaurant and that there were plenty of menu options for pets. While I felt the portions of our meal were slightly small, the Saikyo-grilled abalone and Koshihikari rice were incredibly delicious. Breakfast was a buffet-style mix of Japanese and Western dishes, also allowing dogs to accompany their owners like dinner. There were many food options for us as well as additional pet menu items available for order, leaving us very satisfied. The bath facilities included an open-air bath (separate by gender) and an indoor large public bath (gender-swapped by schedule). While this system meant you couldn't always bathe when you wanted to, both baths themselves were nice overall. The open-air bath required walking about 100 meters along a corridor; on cold days this might cause some discomfort due to cooling off after bathing. There were washing stations near both the entrance and second-floor outdoor dog run (artificial turf), equipped with towels and pet supplies—this thoughtful touch was much appreciated. The accommodation had only one elevator; since my room was on the second floor near most facilities like restaurants, photo studios, outdoor runs or baths—it wasn’t inconvenient—but guests staying on higher floors might experience longer wait times. My wife forgot her skincare products from home but found lotion/toner provided at the open-air bath helpful; having such amenities in rooms would’ve been even better though understandable given reasonable accommodation pricing!

    More than I expected

    I stayed for one night to see the burning of Mt. Omuro. It was carried out as scheduled, and I was glad to see it. I chose this Property solely because it is close to Mt. Omuro, but it exceeded my expectations by far. Based on the naming and price range, I imagined it might be cheap and not so good, but it was perfectly fine. Sorry for my assumption... However, as everyone mentioned in their Reviews, the open-air bath is quite far away (laughs). When I stayed there, light powder snow was falling outside and I shivered a bit. Also, having only one elevator can be a bit tough. But other than that, I was satisfied overall. Considering the price, it's more than enough. Thank you for your hospitality.

    I stayed with my mother and our dog. The food was satisfying, with fresh sashimi and a variety of dishes. The open-air bath was far away, which might be difficult for the elderly to access. It was great that dogs could walk on a leash inside the facility and that there was a dog run available 24 hours. I would like to come back when it gets warmer.

    They will warmly welcome your dog.

    Most of the stays involved guests bringing 1-2 dogs. We stayed for two nights after the New Year, and on the first night's dinner, we left our dog in the room to see how things were. However, everyone else brought their dogs to the meal, and the restaurant staff had prepared seats (places) for the dogs, so we felt comfortable bringing our dog to the restaurant from the next morning. There were multiple dog runs, and the artificial turf area was great as we didn't have to worry about dirty paws. Overall, we were satisfied and would like to use the property again.
