    The hospitality was exceptional.

    We made a Reservation about two months in advance to enjoy Kibune’s riverside dining platform. Although Kibune was bustling with early-summer visitors, during our stay we could forget the noise outside and truly relax. The fresh greenery seen from the bath was wonderful. Dinner on the riverside platform at night was moving—listening to the stream, the rustling wind, and birdsong as we ate. Each dish, generously prepared with seasonal ingredients, was carefully crafted, and my husband and I kept telling each other how delicious it was. I also mentioned just before our stay that I was pregnant, and we were truly grateful for your thoughtful care throughout. This is an Accommodation we would love to return to again soon.

    Perfect!

    For my first visit to Kibune, I stayed at Hirobun. The entrance up the stone steps is greeted by a suit of armor, creating a wonderfully traditional atmosphere. The Room was very clean, with a view of the riverside dining platform below. The cypress bath in the Room was fragrant and deeply relaxing. We enjoyed our meal on the riverside platform; the pike conger hot pot was very tender and generously portioned. I am also very grateful for the proprietress’s hospitality. I would love to stay again on my next visit to Kyoto.

    Refined and tranquil hospitality with both hard and soft aspects

    Although we arrived an hour before the official check-in time on the first day, we were promptly guided to our Room. The main building where breakfast was served is a beautifully maintained Japanese house from hundreds of years ago, and it was truly wonderful. The hospitality provided by the staff, including the proprietress, was exceptional and very attentive. Thank you so much! We would love to stay here again.

    We had a wonderful time.

    This was my first time staying here. I truly enjoyed my experience, especially with the thoughtful consideration for the riverbed timing due to possible rain. The delightful conversation with the lovely hostess, the warm hospitality of the staff, the delicious cuisine, and the relaxing Room atmosphere were all wonderful. I was particularly enchanted by the indoor bath with its wooden scent and scenic view from the window. Next time, I hope to visit during autumn foliage season by train. Thank you very much!

    Experience the charm of Kifune's riverside dining today.

    During the peak of summer with unusually high temperatures, we visited by car on the day of the Gion Festival's latter parade and stayed at this accommodation. The riverside dining area, which was over 10 degrees cooler than Kyoto city, seemed to be a hidden pleasure for Kyoto locals. Among the guests, there were 2-3 groups enjoying the riverside dining accompanied by geisha, giving us a glimpse into Kyoto's unique summer traditions. That day saw heavy traffic, and navigating the mountain roads of Kibune required driving skills akin to training at a driving school. While our main focus was on enjoying the riverside dining experience, I found that both the food and room exceeded my expectations. The riverside dining area, service, and bath were all rated a perfect 5 in satisfaction. It truly made me realize how special both the Gion Festival and Kibune’s riverside dining are for Kyoto residents. Thank you very much!

    The staff were kind ...

    The staff were kind and courteous, and the person who provided the Shuttle Service was friendly and engaging. The hostess was also very thoughtful and caring, allowing for a peaceful stay. The Room featured transoms made from sacred trees, which gave a sense of receiving energy even while sleeping. It became a truly wonderful travel memory, and I am deeply grateful. Thank you very much!

    A warm and thoughtful accommodation with a beautiful hostess.

    Located at the lush uppermost stream of Kibune River, the riverside dining experience here is truly delightful and delicious, accompanied by a refreshing breeze. Above all, what made our stay exceptional was the warm hospitality of the beautiful proprietress. The shuttle service staff and serving team were also very kind and attentive, making this accommodation extremely comfortable. Breakfast was an indulgent feast with a variety of delicious side dishes paired with freshly cooked rice. The bath is maintained at an ideal temperature 24 hours a day, allowing us to fully enjoy the soothing aroma of cypress wood. We hope to visit again during the autumn foliage season someday.
