    I stayed with my mot...

    I stayed with my mother. It was our first time at Misasa Onsen, and it turned into a wonderful trip. We relaxed in the spacious Accommodation, enjoyed delicious meals, and felt that a trip like this once in a while is really nice. Everyone at the Ryokan was kind. The fireflies and the Onsen town at night were beautiful as well. Because it is free-flowing from the source, this is a luxurious complaint, but the Onsen water was quite hot and it took some time to get used to it (especially in the morning). We were told that each person gets one bath towel, so please note this if you plan to bathe multiple times. The scenery was beautiful, so I’d like to visit again in another season.

    The hallway creaked ...

    The hallway creaked and felt old. The Room also had an overall outdated feel. There was no elevator. The road in front of the Ryokan was narrow. The meals were decent. There were no windows in the women's bath.

    It was a cozy Stays.

    I reserved a plan with a detached room and onsen. There was no particular hospitality or greeting upon arrival at the ryokan. Since there was no bell, I waited for a while until a room attendant came from the back and guided me to the detached room. Even at that time, there was no particular guidance about the facility. Therefore, although the room had an open-air bath, I got lost in the main building when going for meals or to the basement bath. It was a plan with drinks in the room's refrigerator, but upon arrival, there was only one bottle of beer. When I questioned it, they said, "I'll put it in later," and replenished it. It would be nice to have towels for the room's washbasin (since they were paper towels, it was inconvenient for morning face washing) and makeup remover for women. The buzzer of the outdoor water heater? was ringing all night, so it would be good if it were fixed. Also, the room key seemed to be about to break, and the only explanation at check-in was that it required a knack to lock it. It took about 5 minutes to lock it the first time, so if they know about it, I recommend fixing it quickly. My companion locked it, but it was too stiff for me to lock. There was no particular send-off at check-out either, and the response was quite straightforward. I wondered if they might be understaffed. The facility itself is old, but it was cleaned. Including the hospitality, it felt more like returning to a rural hometown than a ryokan.

    The meals exceeded expectations.

    I had dinner. Each dish was served in a slightly smaller portion, just the right size to fit in the mouth. There were so many dishes that I was completely full. On the ceramic plate, we grilled beef, pork, chicken, and vegetables. We tried various dishes, and each seasoning was very delicious. The salt-grilled sweetfish was tender and very tasty.

    Delicious food and the hot springs are excellent.

    It is said to be the smallest inn in Misasa Onsen, but it was a quaint and calming traditional ryokan. I appreciated that the futons were set up as beds, but since movement is via stairs with some steps here and there, it might be a bit challenging for those older than us. The aging of the facility is undeniable, but it has been renovated, and the cleaning was thorough, allowing for a pleasant stay. There was an accident during the meal, but the food was incredibly delicious. The moon-viewing soup, eel with grated yam, and sashimi particularly suited my taste. Above all, the quality of the hot spring water is something worth noting. I have stayed at most of the inns in Misasa Onsen, but the quality of the water here was so excellent that you can definitely tell the difference even among the same Misasa waters. My wife mentioned that the water in the women's bath was a bit hot, so she didn't soak for long, but even so, she said, "It's different from the Misasa waters I've experienced before."
