    Enjoy Zenkoji Temple lodging!

    Thank you very much, Fuchinobo. This trip was truly enjoyable. We were delighted to have the opportunity to stay at a temple Accommodation at Zenkoji and enjoy a variety of experiences. We also thoroughly enjoyed the delicious shojin-ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine). This was all thanks to everyone at Fuchinobo, and we are sincerely grateful.

    It was a rare and valuable experience.

    Located in a prime location right in front of Daihongan Temple across the approach path. Waking up to the sound of the temple's drum was truly refreshing. The vegetarian cuisine was exquisitely seasoned and absolutely satisfying. The hospitality of the staff was impressive. The facility, characteristic of temple lodgings, was very clean and well-maintained. I would love to stay here again!

    This is an excellent accommodation.

    For my first visit to Zenkoji Temple, despite being from Nagano Prefecture, I decided to stay at a temple lodging for the first time. Though compact, the accommodation was incredibly hospitable and thoughtful, providing a very comfortable and relaxing stay. The room and facilities were impeccably clean. The meals were beautifully prepared kaiseki cuisine and astonishingly delicious. The morning service was truly impressive. Starting with a 5:10 am gathering in the cool morning air, we were guided through the history and highlights of both the accommodation and Zenkoji Temple. At the main hall, we received prayers up close to the monks—a deeply fulfilling two hours that far exceeded my expectations. Thank you for this invaluable experience. I would love to stay at Fuchinobo again next time!

    We had the opportunity to experience the precious Oasaji ceremony at Zenkoji Temple.

    Not only did they provide a clear explanation of Zenkoji Temple, but they also guided us efficiently through the morning ritual, making it a very meaningful experience. The meals were delicately seasoned and delicious. I would love to stay here again when visiting Nagano.

    Enjoy the Temple Accommodation Experience

    I stayed at the accommodation to attend a tea ceremony at Zenkoji Temple. After checking in, I managed to fit in sutra copying, bathing, and dinner just in time. The vegetarian cuisine was thoughtfully prepared and very satisfying. Despite the rain, I received a detailed guide for the morning service, and my luggage was kindly stored during the tea ceremony. When I requested an additional futon mattress, it was promptly provided with great hospitality. It became a memorable visit to Zenkoji Temple. Thank you very much!

    The staff at the accommodation were very lovely.

    It was truly wonderful to stay at such a lovely accommodation at the end of April. The day before our stay, we passed by the accommodation and took photos of the beautiful peach blossom entrance. The staff greeted us with a warm smile and bow, leaving a great impression. We were also fortunate to visit during a season when wisteria flowers were in full bloom at nearby temples. On the day of our stay, we arrived early and exhausted, but someone writing Goshuin kindly spoke to us at the entrance, sharing highlights about both the accommodation and Zenkoji Temple, which made us very happy. We were also promptly guided to our room, which was very helpful. The staff member in charge of taking care of our room and meals was attentive and well-organized, for which we are deeply grateful. At night, they recommended photographing the beautifully illuminated Nio Gate and guided us through Zenkoji's morning ritual so that we could properly participate in prayer—it was truly impressive. The interior design of the accommodation was stunning with many elegant features that added charm. I look forward to visiting again someday to enjoy it all over again on-site. The meals offered a wide variety of delicious dishes including their signature cuisine; it felt more like kaiseki than shojin ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine). Although it is temple lodging (shukubo), alcoholic beverages were available for an open and enjoyable experience during our stay. It was truly an exceptional accommodation—thank you so much! I will definitely return again!

    It was a valuable experience.

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. It was my first time staying at this type of accommodation, so I was honestly a bit anxious, but the staff's service exceeded that of a hotel, and I was very satisfied. The vegetarian dinner was incredibly delicious, and I finished every bite. Both the quantity and taste were perfect, leaving me completely full. The breakfast rice was also exceptionally tasty. The morning ritual experience was made easy to understand by the guide's explanations, and participating in activities like receiving prayer beads was truly valuable. If I have another chance to visit Zenkoji Temple, I will definitely complete the reservation here again. Additionally, it is an accommodation I would highly recommend to my friends as well.

    It was my first time...

    It was my first time staying at a temple lodging, and the meals were truly delicious, which made my mother very happy. The staff were kind and prepared warm clothing for us because it was cold during the morning service, and they also timed our meals perfectly for when we returned. It was truly a wonderful and attentive experience. I would love to use this Property again next time.

    Simply wonderful

    I called the day before to inquire about arriving early, and the response was excellent from that moment. When we actually visited, I immediately recognized the woman. She was very kind and gentle, and we felt truly comforted. When we visit Zenkoji again, we definitely want to stay at Fuchinobo. The meals were wonderful and delicious, and we were deeply impressed. The sutra copying experience was also great.

    It is a wonderful Stays that we visit every year.

    Every year, I visit Zenkoji Temple to pay respects to my ancestors, and I stay at Fuchinobo. It is a temple lodging with delicious vegetarian cuisine and an attractive morning service guide. The property is very clean and comfortable, so it doesn't feel like a typical temple lodging. This time, there were some overseas guests staying on the same day, and I happened to be in the large public bath with them. Their manners were terrible; they left the shower running and entered the changing room soaking wet, which surprised me and left the floor wet and troublesome. This time, there were no vacancies, so I ended up booking a slightly smaller room. Next time, I would like to reserve a larger room as usual. The staff were courteous, and I had a pleasant stay. I look forward to visiting again next year.
