    It lived up to its excellent reviews.

    I stayed here on a solo trip. Because it is small, everything is well cared for, making it a very pleasant Accommodation. From the aroma scents to the polished furnishings, attention to detail can be felt throughout, and the whole Accommodation has a warm wooden feel. The corner Room by the clear stream also had a raised terrace area where I could relax. Since there are only a few Rooms, I was able to enjoy the bath without overlapping with other guests and soak at ease. Thank you very much—I would love to stop by again.

    I chose this Accommo...

    I chose this Accommodation because it is located along the river in Kurokawa Onsen. However, the road leading to the parking lot is very narrow, so I think it’s best to check in advance. The Accommodation has a modern Japanese style, and the Room we stayed in had a loft-style bedroom, which allowed us to relax and rest well. The meals included dishes I wanted to try in Kumamoto, such as basashi (horse sashimi) and stone-grilled Akaushi beef. It was my first time trying ayu fish sudachi hot pot, and it was delicious. Although we couldn’t do an Onsen hopping tour, we still enjoyed the large public bath and the private family bath at the Accommodation. Also, the foreign staff members were very well trained and provided wonderful hospitality. Thank you very much.

    I made a Reservation...

    I made a Reservation because the riverside location seemed convenient for sightseeing. I chose the smallest Room, and it was fun in its own way. However, I hadn’t checked that the bed was a single, and since I move around a lot in my sleep, that was the only disappointment. The bath didn’t have many different types of water, but it had a nice atmosphere and I enjoyed it. What disappointed me was the pace of the meal service. I wanted to take my time, but it was too fast and we left after 40 minutes. Also, perhaps because they were not Japanese staff, there were a few moments when the explanations were unclear. That said, all of the staff were very pleasant and kind. I’d like to stay again during the winter illuminations. Thank you very much.

    A welcoming Accommodation with warm hospitality

    I arrived a little early, so I left my luggage, bought a bath pass, and enjoyed visiting the hot springs. The brochures and your thoughtful help were very much appreciated and really helpful. The location is ideal and convenient for hot spring hopping. The women’s bath doesn’t have an open-air bath, but it was charming and full of atmosphere. Dinner was excellent—I thoroughly enjoyed the horse sashimi and Akaushi beef. There was also delicious coffee available in the lounge.

    Winter in Kurokawa Onsen

    We enjoyed the winter at Kurokawa Onsen as a family of three. It was our first time visiting Kurokawa Onsen, but the accommodation's design and atmosphere were excellent. Each dish was rich in flavor, offering an experience that large onsen accommodations cannot provide. Although we only had time to visit one onsen during our tour, we were fully satisfied with the baths at the accommodation. When we visit Kurokawa Onsen again, we would love to stay at Fujiya.

    A charming Japanese-modern accommodation

    I had been planning to visit Kurokawa Onsen for six months. The atmosphere of the accommodation, the price, the food... When I asked my friends about it, they also chose Fujiya. Upon visiting, everything exceeded my expectations, especially the excellent service provided by the foreign staff. It was an accommodation that left me truly satisfied after a long time.

    It was a very lovely accommodation.

    The service was very polite and pleasant, making my stay enjoyable. The meals were truly delicious and plentiful! And the Onsen here was the most relaxing. The temperature was perfect, allowing me to soak for a long time and unwind completely. Thank you very much.

    As soon as you enter...

    As soon as you enter the entrance, the retro atmosphere and the warm hospitality with tea and sweets are very soothing. The meals were carefully prepared dish by dish, all of them were delicious and visually enjoyable, leaving us completely satisfied! The staff's service was also very pleasant. The Room had a calm atmosphere, making it very comfortable to stay in, and we could enjoy the bath almost privately at our own pace. We stayed in a Room with a skylight loft; however, since there are stairs to go up and down, having tissues placed in the loft would be convenient.

    The staff were amazi...

    The staff were amazing. Their lovely smiles were heartwarming, and I was impressed by the elegance and attentiveness of the staff from Myanmar and Bali. The room and meals were absolutely excellent. The only downside was that the hairdryer was too weak. I would love to stay again. Thank you for a wonderful time!

    Wonderful

    Is it located in the middle of Kurokawa Onsen? The location is excellent. It's along the river, and close to souvenir shops for strolling. The exterior view from the nearby bridge is beautiful. Each meal was incredibly delicious, and we both praised it. The sight of the breakfast spread was also beautiful. We requested a room with a small elevated terrace, and it was a great time to relax and have a drink in the night breeze. The onsen eggs outside the entrance were perfectly soft-boiled. We could also enjoy the onsen at the affiliated Noshiyu, and since Noshiyu was also lovely from the garden, I would like to stay there as well. The beautiful scenery of Kurokawa Onsen and the friendly Kurokawa cats you meet during walks will be memorable. One thing, is it a new staff member who speaks like a robot? If that could be improved, it would be even better. Everything else is perfect!

    I was able to relax comfortably.

    I stayed at Kurokawa Onsen two years ago and saw Fujiya during an early morning jog, thinking it was a nice Ryokan. This year, we decided to go to Kumamoto for a family trip, and upon researching, I found that Fujiya has only eight rooms, making it difficult to secure a reservation. We stayed on 2024/10/11. The property was quiet, and the room offered a nice view of slightly autumn-colored trees across the river. With few guests, we could enjoy the bath leisurely. The meals, mainly Japanese cuisine, were delicious and satisfying. The service was also courteous. For smokers, there was a comfortable smoking room available.
