  Various Detox Options

  Stayed with one night and two meals (light meal portions). It was a Sunday night stay, and there were 3-4 other groups staying as well. The meals were typical Ryokan-style, but both the quantity and taste were excellent. For the bath, the outdoor bath for men is mixed-gender. Women wore bathing clothes to enter. The water temperature is lukewarm, but it’s free-flowing with plenty of water, which explains why some guests come for therapeutic purposes. In the morning while in the outdoor bath, I was surprised to see a snake appear! Also, be cautious about leaving windows open at night as insects may come in through gaps. Cell phone reception is almost nonexistent here, making it a great place for digital detox while enjoying the soothing hot springs.

  I had a quiet and relaxing time.

  We stayed for one night before the three-day weekend. As we had heard, the lukewarm sulfur-scented water was so relaxing that we could soak in it forever. Besides us, there was only one other couple, so we practically had the bath to ourselves. The beds in the Japanese-Western style room were firm and very comfortable to sleep on. The handmade dishes were delicious, and everything about this accommodation was absolutely satisfying.
