    For New Year's stay

    Conveniently located near Nishiki Market with many shops nearby, perfect for exploring. The facility and rooms were both clean. We enjoyed a delightful New Year's breakfast with white miso soup and traditional Osechi dishes. The staff provided excellent service, making it a satisfying New Year's trip for the whole family.

    Accommodation for Yoiyama

    We stayed during the Gion Festival's Yoiyama night! The staff were very kind, and they had already brought our luggage to the room before we returned from the festival. After check-in, we were welcomed with cold green tea and sweets, which was a relief after coming back in the hot rain. Our room seemed to have been upgraded—it had a high table area and another space with futons laid out. The renovated room was clean and spacious, allowing us to relax comfortably. Although we didn’t use the private bath, it was separate from the toilet and quite spacious. Since the futons were already prepared for us, we could rest whenever we wanted. Once shown around, no one entered unless requested, so we enjoyed our time freely. The public bath is not an Onsen but uses Kyoto’s natural spring water; it felt smooth and pleasant. While not very large, it was new, clean, and well-maintained. After bathing—since it was Yoiyama night—the Ryokan hosted a beer garden in front of their entrance where we used tickets provided to enjoy beer. However, as there were general visitors in the hotel lounge as well, I couldn’t fully relax there and decided to take my drink back to my room instead. Breakfast was a Japanese set meal featuring delicious yudofu (tofu hot pot). We also enjoyed morning coffee at the lobby. Upon departure, they gave us fans (uchiwa), hand towels (tenugui), frozen Aquarius drinks for heatstroke prevention advice—and even Yatsuhashi sweets! Our group of four ladies was deeply touched by their thoughtfulness! A commemorative photo under a handmade banner by Okami-san became another cherished memory. This trip allowed us to experience impeccable service reminiscent of traditional Japanese Ryokan hospitality that has become rare these days. Despite challenges like labor shortages or rising costs ahead—please keep up your wonderful work!

    A place where "hospitality" comes to life

    We have stayed at various places, including the three major classic accommodations and five-star hotels, with my child who is now a high school student. My child was deeply moved and said, "This is the best place we've ever stayed." While the facility may not match the newness or luxury of a five-star hotel, the meticulous cooking and subtle services like polishing shoes without us noticing made this stay truly flawless. Above all, the hospitality here deserves special mention. This accommodation embodies the spirit of "omotenashi" (Japanese hospitality) that was once commonplace in Showa-era Japan. Recently, I have felt that service quality has declined in many accommodations and had resigned myself to it as part of modern times. However, here I rediscovered genuine "omotenashi." Moreover, it wasn't just one person; every staff member we encountered—regardless of age or gender—provided impeccable service. I sincerely hope this spirit of "omotenashi" continues without being swayed by changing times.

    Lovely Room

    A spacious room with two Japanese-style rooms, perfect for a comfortable stay even for five people. The private bath was large, and having two sinks was very convenient. The tea service at check-in and the souvenirs were also much appreciated. I would definitely like to stay here again!

    The spirit of hospitality is remarkable.

    The hospitality was excellent, the staff had a great atmosphere, the Room was clean, the food was delicious, and I had a very comfortable stay! I have become a big fan, so I would love to use it again when I visit Kyoto.
