It was disappointing that there were no toothbrushes provided. However, the location is great, so overall it was fine. I just wish the parking lot were a bit larger.

I had a relaxing Golden Week. The location was convenient, with easy access to Chion-in Temple, Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and Gion.

Thank you very much!
There is no large public bath or Onsen Facility, and amenities are minimal, but the Room was very clean and well maintained, and the food was delicious. The staff were also very helpful, especially the male front desk staff member, who was exceptionally kind. Overall satisfaction: 4/5. This Accommodation is highly recommended for guests visiting Yasaka Shrine or Kiyomizu-dera Temple.

The road in front of the Ryokan is narrow.
To save costs, we used our private car as transportation from the Kanto region. When checking the road in front of the Ryokan on Google Maps, it seemed quite narrow. Since our car was larger than average, we called the accommodation before our stay and were told it would be fine. However, upon seeing the road in person on arrival day, while it was passable, the around-view sensors kept beeping continuously, making us nervous about possibly hitting something like a utility pole or scratching the car body. Upon arrival at the accommodation, we were surprised to learn that amenities such as toothbrushes, razors, and combs were not provided. While I should have checked this beforehand and take responsibility for not doing so, I fortunately had a toothbrush packed for emergencies which saved us from inconvenience. Regarding bedding: The mattress and pillow were very flat and uncomfortable; I barely got any sleep that night. Additionally—and this is just my personal opinion—being near Yasaka Shrine or Yasui Konpiragu Shrine might have contributed to my restlessness. As for the bathroom: It was a standard setup with a bathtub and shower like you’d find in most homes. Adding bath salts brought from home made it more enjoyable! The functionality of the bathroom itself was good; however, since it was located next to the sink area without much privacy when changing clothes there (visible from both inside/outside), having some kind of simple screen would have been appreciated. Also adding an anti-slip mat underfoot could improve safety. Most guests staying at this accommodation appeared to be international visitors during our stay; as Japanese travelers ourselves hoping for casual interactions using Kyoto dialect or local exchanges—it felt slightly disappointing not experiencing that aspect. The dashimaki tamago served at breakfast tasted delicious—thank you! Lastly though regrettably worth mentioning—a cigarette butt had been discarded under where we parked our car which left an unfortunate impression despite otherwise positive aspects of hospitality offered here overall!

It was a beautiful accommodation. The soy milk hot pot with tomatoes served at dinner was a first-time experience, but it was very healthy and delicious.

The Room, washroom, ...
The Room, washroom, and bathroom were very clean and pleasant; however, it was disappointing that the bathtub felt slippery. The food was delicious and very satisfying. However, despite the delicious meals, the staff would clear the dishes immediately after someone finished eating. Since we were a group of four, it felt like dishes were constantly being taken away, making it hard to eat comfortably. We would have appreciated a bit more attentiveness in serving.

A Good Sense of Distance with Guests
We stayed with the dinner and breakfast included plan. What stood out the most was the perfect balance in interaction with guests. It wasn’t intrusive, yet there was a constant sense of attentiveness that made us feel at ease. There wasn’t anything particularly concerning, but if I had to mention something, it would be that the air conditioner in the room couldn’t lower its airflow, causing wind to blow directly while sleeping, and that the sliding doors between the toilet, washroom, and guest room made noise when closing. Other than that, the bathroom was impeccably clean and very pleasant to use. We would love to stay again if we have another opportunity!

The hotel is in a great location right next to Yasaka Shrine, and the breakfast was very satisfying with a taste of Kyoto. There is also a bus stop nearby that goes to Kyoto Station, making transportation smooth and convenient. The staff were kind and made us feel relaxed. I would like to visit again in a different season, such as summer or autumn.

A property suitable for gatherings with friends
After a long time, the idea of gathering with friends next year came up, and I used this opportunity to visit Kyoto for both a trip and an inspection. The conditions were quite challenging: delicious food, good access for people coming from various directions, and a location convenient for sightseeing. After searching, I found this property. As mentioned in other reviews, the food was truly delicious, and I was impressed by the attention to detail in each dish. I ended up drinking more than I intended, making it perfect for a banquet. The access from the station and the nearby bus stop were convenient, and although it is located in a vibrant area right next to Yasaka Shrine, this property, just a step inside, felt like a place where time flows quietly. You can reach "Nene no Michi" in just a few seconds on foot from the property, and Kodaiji Temple and Kiyomizu Temple are also nearby, making sightseeing easy and enjoyable. When I asked the staff about how many people they could accommodate, they said around 20 to 30 people would be no problem, so I would love to take care of everyone here. Also, since the location and food were excellent, I am considering using it for family gatherings as well.

Thank you very much.
The other day, I stayed at Stays Karaku. The facility was clean, the staff was attentive, and I was able to spend my time comfortably. The rolled omelet for breakfast was delicious, and I was very satisfied with the variety of breakfast options. Next time, I would like to use it with dinner included.

I was able to spend a relaxing time.
The cuisine, befitting the name of a culinary Ryokan, was wonderful, featuring an abundance of Kyoto and seasonal ingredients. The presentation was so vibrant that I couldn't help but take many photos. The matsutake mushroom dobinmushi, in particular, offered a delicate yet rich taste that was quintessentially Kyoto. I was amazed by the meticulous and courteous service of the staff, and I am very grateful for the comfortable stay. Being very close to Yasaka Shrine, I was able to enjoy a pleasant time strolling through the illuminated grounds after dinner. If I have the opportunity to visit Gion again, I would love to stay at the Property and see Yasaka Shrine in the early morning next time.

We confidently recommend this Stays!
We stayed at this property during our couple's trip to Kyoto. There are many hotels and ryokans in Kyoto, but we are truly glad we chose this ryokan! It was a property that encapsulated all the good aspects of a ryokan. The room was spacious, well-cleaned, and comfortable, and above all, the service and food were excellent. Regarding the service, I was impressed by the "perfect balance of attentiveness and distance." Everything was prepared in advance before we even asked, allowing us to fully enjoy the extraordinary hospitality of the ryokan. As for the food, we had booked with breakfast included, but we were so tempted by the dinner photos we saw at the front desk that we decided to add it at the last minute, and it was the right decision! The food was exactly what you would expect from a ryokan, with a satisfying volume, and it is recognized as a "seasonal Kyoto vegetable provider," which is rare for Kyoto ryokans, so it's highly recommended for women who love vegetables. Starting with the hassun, there were many creative touches throughout the meal that were visually enjoyable, making dining a fun experience. The property's location was also very convenient, as it is in the heart of Gion, just a stone's throw from Yasaka Shrine. Since kimono rentals are also available, I would love to use them the next time we visit. Thank you very much!

Experience the essence of Kyoto with our highly satisfying cuisine! Prime location!
I was looking for a property with delicious cuisine around Gion and Higashiyama, and I was drawn to the location and the name of the ryokan, so I made a reservation. ■ Dinner: A series of dishes that did not betray expectations. The appetizer was a dobinmushi with nodoguro and matsutake mushrooms. Delicious... I was overwhelmed by the size of the nodoguro and matsutake mushrooms and delighted by the gentle broth of the dobinmushi. The hassun included 12 small items (such as grilled duck with mulberry, persimmon with tofu dressing, and lily bulb with plum sauce), which were very delicious and enjoyable to look at, making the sake go down smoothly. The sashimi included medium fatty tuna, seared barracuda, and tilefish wrapped in kelp, and it was immediately apparent that they used good quality ingredients. The tempura, made with Kyoto brand vegetables such as Kyoto Tanba black shimeji mushrooms and Fushimi peppers, was enjoyed with truffle salt. The main hot pot was just the right size for one person, featuring Kyoto red chicken and five types of mushrooms in a Kyoto-style hot pot, which was also delicious. For dessert, I wondered if I could eat it with a full stomach, but the parfait, which could be chosen from three types, was small and colorful. I had the autumn-limited apple and Nanshanjo Japanese black tea parfait with caramel ice cream, and it was a dinner that left both my stomach and heart fully satisfied. ■ Breakfast: The six types of obanzai, yudofu, three types of rolled omelets, and country miso soup were delicious and made me feel satisfied, realizing that I had stayed at a Kyoto cuisine ryokan. ■ Guest Room: The futon was laid out in a Japanese-style room. It was clean and comfortable to stay in. ■ Staff: The staff greeted us with smiles both at the front desk and in the dining area, and the service was very polite. ■ Location: The excellent location is less than a minute's walk to Yasaka Shrine, and it is also close to Kiyomizu Temple and Chion-in. I got up early this time and went to visit Kiyomizu Temple at its 6 a.m. opening. The usually crowded Kiyomizu stage, Otowa waterfall, and the approach to the temple, including Sannenzaka, were serene and provided a peaceful moment. The location is perfect for strolling around Gion and Higashiyama, and I would love to come back to enjoy the seasonal cuisine again.
