    I keep coming back.

    Whenever I visit Ishigaki Island, I stay at this Hotel. The view from the Room is wonderful, and the Facility is compact overall, making it comfortable and easy to spend time here. Breakfast doesn’t have a huge variety, but it tastes good, and I’m happy they also offer several kinds of fruit. The price isn’t too high, and it’s in a convenient location, so I recommend it!

    It was great.

    The bath was great, and I think this price for a Saturday stay offers excellent value. Unfortunately it rained, but there is a terrace where dining would be wonderful in good weather.

    A Hotel with ocean views from the Room

    If you’re looking for a Hotel with an ocean view from your Room, I highly recommend Ishigaki Island Beach Hotel Sunshine. It was quieter than a Resort Hotel that gets overcrowded, and I was able to enjoy a private, relaxing stay. Next time, I’d like to stay in the new wing again. However, the sap dripping from the trees in the parking lot at Ishigaki Beach Hotel Sunshine is quite heavy and can make your car very dirty, so I recommend parking away from under the trees.

    Stay: Feb 4–Feb 8

    This was my first stay. I chose this Hotel for the large public bath and the view from the Hotel. The large public bath also has an open-air bath, and it’s open from early morning, so you can use it before heading out. The view from the Room was amazing as well—an uninterrupted ocean view. February tends to be cloudy, but I think it would have looked even more beautiful on a clear day. I also enjoyed the breakfast buffet, as some items changed daily. All staff were polite and kind, and I’m glad I stayed here. It’s about 30 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from the remote island terminal. You can request a taxi dispatch from the Hotel, and it’s also easy to find taxis at both the airport and the remote island terminal, so it should be convenient even without a car. The reason I rated service as 3 is that on some days when housekeeping came in, towels and the trash bin were not replaced.

    The Hotel I Always Stay at on Ishigaki Island

    Since my first sightseeing trip to Ishigaki Island, I have stayed at this Hotel whenever I could, except when it was fully booked and I couldn’t make a Reservation. I chose it initially because it has a large public bath and the Room also has a bathtub. There are both a new wing and an older wing, with various Room types available. Last time, I also had dinner, which was excellent—of course the Agu pork shabu-shabu was wonderful, and the small side dishes and dessert included in the set were delicious as well. For breakfast, there are Yaeyama soba along with both Japanese- and Western-style options, and since it’s a buffet you can choose what you like. Even during a Multiple Night Stay, they offered different soups and breads so I didn’t get bored. The two kinds of homemade butter were especially delicious and felt very “Ishigaki.” If these two butters were sold as souvenirs in the on-site shop, I would definitely buy them—so I hope you will consider offering them for sale. Regarding the Hotel Facility, I particularly like the Rooms in the new wing—the spacious Room and bathtub area, the large bed, and the ocean view. Thank you very much for your hospitality again this time. When I visit Ishigaki Island again, I will be happy to stay here again.

    The bath was amazing.

    I chose this place for the ocean view, the pool, and the large public bath. It was an amazing stay, exactly as expected. The breakfast buffet was also excellent. Personally, I felt the dinner at night was a bit disappointing for the price (though that may be typical Hotel pricing). In any case, the bath was great.

    It was excellent.

    The view from the Room was amazing, everything was spotless, the food was delicious, and all the staff were very friendly. The guide on the Shani-Shani stargazing tour also gave a very thorough and easy-to-follow explanation, and we were truly drawn into the world of the night sky.

    The Room and the view are excellent!

    We stayed for a 3-night multiple night stay as a family of 11 to celebrate a special occasion. The rooms and views were beautiful, and everyone was delighted. The hall cake we had reserved for the celebration on the first night was delivered on time, allowing us to have a wonderful celebration. The large public bath was also excellent, and we enjoyed bathing together as a group. The garden was beautiful, and we had so much fun with the infinity pool and activities. As for breakfast during our 3-night stay, it exceeded our expectations based on reviews—we looked forward to it every day! Thank you for providing plenty of fresh and delicious food. One concern was hair on the floor in the dressing area of the public bath; increasing cleaning frequency would be appreciated. The room amenities were well-stocked too. We truly had an enjoyable stay with many wonderful memories made. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

    The best ocean view.

    The ocean view from the room was stunning. Although it faced the sunset, we could also enjoy the sight of clouds turning red during sunrise, which was wonderful. However, if there is drip coffee in the room, it would be nice to have sugar and milk provided as well. Also, while it was advertised as having an ocean-view bath, it turned out to be an ocean view through the room, which was a bit disappointing. Breakfast had a good variety and was delicious. Since we had plans to leave early in the morning, we went to the restaurant about five minutes before its opening time intending to wait. To our delight, they kindly opened for us even though it wasn’t yet 6:30 AM. We also enjoyed dinner BBQ while watching a beautiful sunset. The inclusion of rice balls was a nice touch; we grilled them into yaki-onigiri and enjoyed them very much. This is a hotel I would love to stay at again when visiting Ishigaki Island next time!

    Needs a bit more attention to detail.

    I stayed in the new building. The room was just the right size, and I enjoyed the ocean view from the large windows. However, the loungewear had quite a bit of pilling around the neckline and inside, which dampened the resort vibe. Also, noise from upstairs was quite noticeable. The bathroom in the room also had an ocean view, which I didn’t realize until I arrived since there were no photos available. The pool is on the smaller side and seems suitable for young children. I thought about taking a dip but decided against it as it was quite crowded. The Ryukyu glass dessert dishes used during dinner were lovely, so I purchased some as souvenirs for my family at the gift shop. Honestly, though, they felt a bit overpriced for what they were...

    I stayed in early Ju...

    I stayed in early June and found the Hotel quiet and comfortable due to fewer guests. I stayed in the new building, and the Room was clean and pleasant. I chose a Plan with breakfast included, and the buffet offered delicious Okinawan-style dishes. (The ingredients for champuru were varied, and even the soup changed daily.) The drip coffee provided in the Room was excellent. However, there were no vending machines for beer or other drinks inside the Hotel. The hotel shop closed at 9 PM, so it was slightly inconvenient to have to go to a convenience store after that time.

    This is my second stay, and it was excellent as always.

    The first floor of the new building allows direct access from the Room to the garden, as well as to the pool and walking paths, which I really liked—this is my second stay. The well-maintained hibiscus hedges were blooming beautifully. From there, you can go to the pool and return directly to your Room without feeling cold from indoor air conditioning. After a shower in your Room, you can immediately relax on your bed—such a luxury! The staff maintained a perfect balance of attentiveness and distance; they were kind and helpful whenever approached, making my stay very comfortable. I would love to stay here again!
