    The food is delicious.

I stayed in a newly renovated Room with an open-air bath. The Room was spacious, and the open-air bath was large enough to relax in comfortably, which was great. The food was carefully prepared and very delicious.

The Facility felt a bit old, but the meals were very delicious, made with local vegetables. I’d like to stay again in a different Room.

    Due to traffic cause...

Due to traffic caused by snow, I had no choice but to stay with a last-minute Reservation. I used a Room with an open-air bath, but because of my work I could tell the Japanese-style room had been forcibly remodeled into a Western-style room, and the overall build quality was not worth the price at all. I was told the open-air bath was at a comfortable temperature, but when I got in, the lower part was cold water and I couldn’t use it until I added hot water for a while. The female staff member who guided me was unfriendly, which was disappointing. However, the meal at the restaurant was satisfying, and the staff there were very attentive. I was surprised by how different the quality level was between the Hotel and the restaurant. It made me wonder if they are run separately. Since it was an unexpected stay, it couldn’t be helped, but it was disappointing.

    Onsen is the best!

The Onsen here is truly remarkable, especially the ancient cypress bath with its unique water quality. The silky texture of the water that clings to your skin is simply delightful. Having visited many Onsen in Yugawara and Atami, I highly recommend this place for any Onsen enthusiast. While some may describe it as old, you must experience the luxury of a property built on a sloped area with a single winding path leading up to it. The ancient cypress bathtub itself feels like a rare treasure these days. From the spacious open-air baths to various luxurious touches throughout, this place offers an unparalleled experience. Enjoying delicious cuisine and staying overnight here is pure bliss!

Visited for our 30th wedding anniversary.

The wine paired with the meal and the breakfast were both satisfying. I would love to return if given the chance.

Not recommended accommodation for those with mobility issues.

Located in the Yugawara Onsen area, the accommodation is built on a slope, requiring guests to navigate stairs (some of which are quite steep). This may make it challenging for those with mobility issues to access the onsen or restaurant. The room we stayed in was a spacious two-room suite on the third floor with an attic-like atmosphere. One tatami room had single beds and a low table, while the other tatami room was empty and felt bare. The bathroom area was dimly lit, making it difficult to apply makeup; having a dressing table in the Japanese-style room would have been helpful. When opening the window, all we could see was the roof of an outdoor bath—an unpleasant view. The other side had waist-high windows facing a path leading to another outdoor bath, which also offered no privacy or scenery. As an auberge-style accommodation, I had high expectations but was disappointed overall. The Western-style dinner served with chopsticks wasn’t bad but wasn’t particularly delicious either—quite underwhelming. Breakfast included freshly grilled horse mackerel that tasted good; however, everything else felt average. There are four onsens available: one requires prior reservation while two others operate on a gender-swapping schedule between night and morning use. Unfortunately, this left one onsen unexperienced during our stay. The water temperature was very high, making it difficult to enjoy soaking leisurely. Yugawara is known as a quiet retreat away from bustling tourist crowds—even international visitors seem scarce here—which makes it ideal for relaxation. However, I wish this accommodation offered more fulfilling experiences overall...

    Room with Private Open-Air Bath

A wonderful accommodation with spacious and clean rooms where we could relax. The private open-air onsen in the room was amazing, and we enjoyed it multiple times, feeling completely rejuvenated. Every dish was delicate and delicious, making each bite a delightful experience. We had a great time savoring the meals and decided on this accommodation as we wanted to enjoy an onsen together as a couple after a long time—it was absolutely the right choice! The staff were kind and their smiles were lovely! Thank you for providing us with such a wonderful time.

    Meals, Drinks, and Service

The meals exceeded expectations and were incredibly delicious. The appetizers were charming with Italian colors, full of seasonal flavors and umami. The strawberry sauce was so fragrant and harmonized perfectly with the other ingredients—it made me wonder if strawberries could be this tasty! For drinks, there were several pairing sets of three glasses to choose from, making it enjoyable (though I ended up selecting my favorite three). The staff providing the service were attentive, easy to talk to, and made the experience delightful. We used the private open-air bath in the morning before departure as we arrived late due to getting lost on our way. The hot spring water was flowing directly from its source at a pleasantly high temperature that I enjoyed. However, since it was cold outside and there were no facilities like hair dryers or cosmetics available in the area, I thought using the washing area in the large public bath might be more convenient for such needs. This is an accommodation worth visiting just for its monthly changing meals!

    You can relax.

I stayed for one night and two days. There were no noisy people (please understand), so I feel it could be considered a hidden gem for Japanese guests. I used the suite, but there was a bit of an issue with the room layout, and honestly, I felt there was no need to use the suite. Dinner and breakfast were included, but dinner was a light creative Italian kaiseki style targeting women and seniors, which might leave men feeling slightly unsatisfied. The taste is a matter of preference; it was lightly seasoned which I liked, but if asked if it was particularly delicious, it was just average. The onsen quality is a simple spring that is colorless and odorless. The shower has low water pressure, so women with long hair might find it lacking. Overall, it's a property I'd consider revisiting. Thank you to all the staff members.

It lived up to its reputation.

Enjoying a solo trip centered around Izu. As rumored, there were several people enjoying their solo trips. The meals and the pairing drinks were delicious. Above all, I thought it was a "Stays where adults can relax."
