    True to its name as an Accommodation with Onsen, the hot springs left our skin silky smooth and helped us feel refreshed. The hospitality was also attentive, and thank you for making our stay so comfortable.

    There were many stai...

    There were many stairs, and it was difficult to carry our luggage when leaving. The early-served dinner dishes felt more like breakfast side dishes and were not satisfying. Because the reviews were good, I canceled another Ryokan, but I regret it now. Going to meals and to the bath both required going up and down stairs, which was exhausting. Also, this Ryokan is like a maze.

    I stayed for one night on the Standard plan. The facilities feel noticeably outdated; the large public bath water was lukewarm, and there was an unpleasant odor in the Room. The meals were good in both quantity and taste, but they were served slowly, and the soup had become lukewarm by the time it arrived. The service was good, but overall I found it disappointing.

    Accommodation I Want to Visit Again

    We stayed as a family of three. In the morning, we enjoyed skiing at the ski resort, and the Onsen afterward was incredibly refreshing. Breakfast was plentiful with dishes like soy milk hot pot and homemade rolled omelets, leaving us full in the morning. During our stay, we had minimal interaction with other guests and felt as if we had the entire accommodation to ourselves, allowing us to relax fully. Next time, I would love to visit Izumiya Zenbei just to spend time there while bringing along my favorite books. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

    Thank you for a wonderful trip.

    The private bath was fun as everyone could enjoy it together, and the "Kamonanban Toji Soba" chosen in the Plan was incredibly delicious. Each person could choose their favorite dish, and even though we ate so much the night before, we finished breakfast saying "delicious" and "delicious." It was that tasty. The building also had a charming atmosphere and was comfortable. It truly became a delicious and happy trip. I would like to stay again when I am in the area. Thank you very much.

    The meals and Onsen are great, but...

    The meals were delicious, and the Onsen, including both the private bath and indoor bath, was excellent. However, the handle on the door from the changing room to the indoor bath (men's) was broken, making it difficult to open and enter. It was only temporarily fixed with tape, which raises questions about why proper repairs haven't been made. Additionally, due to its location, winters are very cold. The Room did not have an electric kettle; only a thermal pot provided at check-in that ran out by nighttime with no way to refill it. What surprised me most was that despite answering all questions from the Accommodation in advance regarding dinner/breakfast times and food allergies (even confirming allergies over a phone call for safety), none of this information had been reflected at check-in. The staff lacked smiles or warmth in their service overall—it felt like an Accommodation focused solely on meals and Onsen experiences.

    An old Onsen Ryokan.

    It feels old, but it is kept clean. There are many options for food, and it was delicious with just the right amount. If you don't rent a private bath, the indoor bath is small and lacks charm. However, there is a fee for the private bath. I stayed in the middle of winter, and the problem was that there were two places in the long corridor where you go outside, and the corridor is long, so even if you warm up in the bath, you get cold by the time you return to the room. There are also stairs and slopes, so I walked carefully, worried about slipping. The Room has heating and a kotatsu, but if you close the partition with the corridor, the toilet is cold, and if you leave it open, you feel cold while sleeping. I think there are some unavoidable parts since it's a hardware issue.

    The meals were very satisfying. The Onsen was at just the right temperature, which was nice. The Facility is old and with the extensions, it felt like a maze, making it difficult to find the Room and Onsen. The staff provided pleasant service.

    I had been interested in staying here for a while, but the timing never worked out until now. This time, it was during the coldest spell of autumn, and since there was some draft from outside, it got quite chilly. However, I was relieved to find a cozy kotatsu set up. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the food met my expectations—absolutely satisfying. I specifically chose a room with an onsen bath inside, but due to the low temperature, the water felt lukewarm and didn’t warm me up as much as I hoped. Thankfully, there were private baths and a large public bath available, so it wasn’t an issue. I’d love to visit again during a slightly warmer season. It was my last ryokan stay of this year’s trip to Shinshu and truly became a wonderful memory!

    Please be cautious when using the private open-air bath on rainy days.

    We arrived on a day of heavy rain and were allowed to check in before 3 PM. Thank you very much. At that time, we were asked about the time for the private bath, and since we were chilled by the rain, we requested it from 3 PM. The private bath was "Yamanobe no Yu" with an open-air bath... that's when we realized our mistake. The open-air bath had no roof. We had no choice but to use an umbrella while bathing. We should have checked for a roof... I wish the staff had mentioned it. The interior has a deep structure. The corridors and the passage connecting the main building and the annex seem like they would be cold in winter. Also, there are only stairs to the upper floors. The dining area is also on the second floor. Since it's an old wooden house, the stairs are steeper than modern ones. It's not recommended for those who use canes or have leg or knee issues. Some parts, like the fittings, furniture, and bathroom tiles, are damaged, but the cleaning is thorough, so it didn't bother us much. However, we did notice that some pictures in the room were tilted. There is a massage chair in the room that you can use freely. It felt good to use it after warming up in the onsen, and it seemed to relieve tension even more. The meals were just the right amount, and there were ingredients like sashimi and snow trout that we tried for the first time, which we enjoyed without leaving any leftovers. The matsutake mushroom dobin mushi is a taste of autumn.

    A wonderful accommodation.

    We stayed at this accommodation during our trip to Nagano as a couple. Although it is an older building, the interior is kept exceptionally clean, making for a very comfortable stay. Our room had a view of the garden from the veranda, allowing us to relax while enjoying the scenery. In addition to the 24-hour public bath, there was a private open-air bath available. The private bath included in our room plan was surrounded by greenery and featured an amazing open-air setting where we could soak and unwind while enjoying nature's beauty and the soothing sounds of autumn insects—a truly healing experience. Dinner was served in semi-private dining spaces with a course menu that allowed us to choose dishes according to our preferences; every dish was delicious, and breakfast was equally satisfying. The staff at this ryokan were all very polite and attentive, ensuring we had a pleasant stay throughout. The price was also quite reasonable, offering excellent value for money. This accommodation comes highly recommended for everyone!

    A charming traditional Ryokan

    The music during the meal was wonderful. The food was also delicious, with each dish being exceptionally tasty. The coffee after breakfast was delightful as well. Amenities were well-prepared, including items like men's face masks.
