    It was a great-value Hotel.

    We stayed here because it seemed like a good place to stop by on the way back from Kamikochi. The Onsen facilities were well equipped, and although the service at meals was not very good, the food was delicious. The Hotel itself was nice, but the surrounding area was disappointing. It was our first time in Isawa Onsen, and it was a shame that there was hardly any atmosphere of an Onsen town.

    Great access. No crowds. Great value for money.

    This was my second stay. It’s a direct train from Shinjuku with no transfers, and just a few minutes’ walk from the station—excellent access. The Onsen is high quality, the meals are well portioned, and the Room offers wonderful views of the mountain range. Since Isawa Onsen doesn’t have many sightseeing spots, it’s not crowded and is ideal for relaxing and fully enjoying the Onsen. The flowers—such as roses—around the station area and along the river always seem to be well cared for, which was soothing both this time and last time. The Hotel staff’s thoughtful, unobtrusive check-ins are also very pleasant.

    This Accommodation is very senior-friendly.

    It is close to Isawa Station, and it felt like many older guests stay here. The large public bath also has a sauna. While it is not particularly luxurious, it is a relaxing space where you can unwind. I have stayed at several Onsen Ryokan in Isawa, and this was a place where I could spend a gentle, peaceful time. I would be happy to stay again if I have the opportunity. Thank you very much.

    We had a comfortable stay.

    Conveniently located near the station, and the Hotel had been renovated, so everything was clean. The Room had a bed, and the toilet was modern; there was also a water purifier at the sink, and tea and coffee were provided in the Room. The meal was a smaller course, but it was plenty and delicious, with good service, and we were also treated to Setsubun sushi rolls.

    A fully accommodating accommodation.

    The lobby was clean, and the room's facilities were perfect. For dinner, we had a small portion of "Seasonal Gozen," which was sufficient for us as seniors. Breakfast was a half-buffet, and we ended up eating too much because it was so delicious. Next time, we would like to make a reservation with the high-grade dinner plan.

    Elegant

    I always stay here when visiting Kofu and Isawa. After trying various places, I feel most comfortable at Yamanami and keep coming back. The atmosphere is calm and elegant, without the rush of drum shows or overly busy staff. The dishes are perfectly seasoned with exquisite flavors. Additionally, having an AEON mall right in front makes it very convenient for any needs.

    Breakfast

    It was a pleasant stay thanks to the warm hospitality of the staff after a long time. I will visit again. There were some reviews about breakfast, but considering the affordable accommodation fee, it's impressive how they manage with those ingredients. It's more than sufficient.

    A tranquil and serene Onsen Hotel near the station

    ○○ Convenient Location Near the Station Located just behind the station-front Aeon, only about a 3-minute walk from Isawa Station. While many Ryokans in Isawa Onsen offer Shuttle Service to the station, this location is highly convenient. Perfect for early morning or late-night travelers. ○○ Clean and Spacious Public Bath The changing area is spacious and impeccably clean, making it very comfortable. Although there aren't many bathtubs, the lukewarm water allows for a relaxing soak. There are also mist saunas and regular saunas to help relieve fatigue. The post-bath relaxation room with tatami flooring was also spacious and clean, equipped with massage chairs for added comfort. ○○ Renovated Comfortable Rooms The Room was exceptionally clean as well. Plenty of outlets next to the bed, ample space, adjustable lighting, and well-stocked amenities made it feel like a perfect blend of Hotel and Ryokan features. The bathroom had double sinks with bright mirror lighting—especially appreciated by female guests. ○ Light Portions but Affordable A La Carte Menu Dinner portions were slightly small but sufficient for us and delicious; however, it might feel insufficient for some men. What stood out was the affordable a la carte menu—almost at izakaya prices! This makes it easy to order additional dishes if needed. Perhaps by coincidence, there were no inbound tourists during our stay, creating a calm atmosphere throughout the facility. With fewer rooms overall in this property as well, it felt more private. We had an incredibly comfortable stay here! Since we often visit Yamanashi for events, we would love to return again!

    Discover an easily accessible Onsen!

    A sudden break was decided, so I searched for and booked an Onsen with good access from Shinjuku. After 30 years, I revisited Isawa Onsen. The station was clean, had a footbath, and was not crowded with tourists, making it very comfortable. The accommodation was just a few minutes' walk from the station and easy to reach. The clean lobby welcomed us with smiles from the staff. This time, the reservation was for two people but included a lighter dinner plan in a triple room. The view from the room was stunning—truly living up to the hotel's name with its mountain scenery! From the start, we were able to relax completely. Dinner came in perfect portions one dish at a time; even my mother praised it as just right! We finished everything without leaving any leftovers. The staff member attending us throughout our stay was kind and attentive; they even gave us several mats as souvenirs on our way out, which made us very happy. The bath, location, meals, and staff were all excellent—earning top marks across the board after such a long time! We will definitely return again!

    The cost performance was excellent!

    This was my first visit to Isawa Onsen, and it was an accommodation with excellent cost performance. The room was renovated and very clean, and there were about four massage chairs in front of the large public bath, which was very relaxing. During meals, the staff were attentive and ensured that warm dishes were served while still hot, making them even more enjoyable. Absolutely no complaints! Although we didn’t go ourselves, there is an AEON mall next door where you can quickly buy anything you might need. Next time, I’d like to visit with my family. It was a wonderful accommodation. Thank you very much!

    Isawa Onsen

    Beautifully renovated, the room and the large public bath were very clean and extremely satisfying. The meal portions were slightly small, but as an elderly couple, it was just right, and the flavors were mild and delicious. The onsen made our skin feel incredibly smooth, and we had been curious about Isawa Onsen for a while—it was excellent. We would love to stay again if we have the chance.

    The price was reasonable, but the satisfaction level was high! The food was delicious and very filling. The bath was clean and comfortable to use. It was great that the massage chair was free of charge. A long-awaited Onsen trip! I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    A heartwarming Hotel with reasonable service

    It was a one-night stay that we hurriedly booked as it was the only time our family’s schedule aligned! For this season, it offered excellent cost performance. We stayed in a spacious Japanese-Western style room on the top floor corner with a balcony, where six of us across three generations could relax comfortably. When my husband had to work and we needed to cancel dinner, and when we mentioned at check-in that one of our grandchildren has allergies, the staff responded kindly and attentively—thank you so much for that. The lemon hot pot and kamameshi served at dinner were delicious. Although the timing of the dishes being served was slightly delayed, considering how busy it must have been during this period, we truly appreciated all the service provided. It turned out to be a satisfying summer vacation for everyone!

    We stayed here to celebrate a birthday, and we truly appreciated the thoughtful gesture of providing a celebratory dessert during dinner. The room was newly renovated and very clean, and the bath was relaxing. However, one disappointing aspect was the service upon arrival. When we were unsure about where to park our car, we approached the front desk for assistance. Despite being noticed by staff, no one greeted us or offered help. When we initiated conversation with someone who didn’t appear busy at that moment, they simply said, "The parking sign is over there!" without even a proper welcome greeting like "Welcome." This response left us quite surprised. (Although it seemed like they might have been doing some task while standing at the front desk or perhaps weren’t officially part of the front desk team, as guests, anyone standing at the front desk is perceived as responsible for guest services.) After parking our car and returning to check in, another staff member assisted us with standard service. Since this is located in Isawa Onsen town, we initially expected Ryokan-style hospitality; however, it seems more aligned with a Business Hotel format (though even Business Hotels often provide more courteous service). Unfortunately, this initial experience left us feeling quite unpleasant upon arrival.

    A comfortable Hotel.

    I initially assumed "Yamanami" was a traditional Ryokan due to its name, so I was surprised by the lack of a welcoming reception upon arrival and headed to the front desk with mixed feelings. While completing the check-in process, I realized it was indeed a Hotel. The female staff at the front desk, dressed impeccably, provided excellent service. The room was spacious and clean, allowing for a comfortable stay. Above all, the silky Isawa hot spring was wonderful. During my visit, it wasn’t too crowded, which allowed me to relax and enjoy it fully. However, I found the shower hook slightly high; I had to stand up to reach it comfortably. It would be helpful if there were quick wipers in the changing area so that guests could clean up after themselves for others' convenience. While most guests follow proper etiquette, some do not; therefore, signs such as "No tooth brushing" or "Do not walk in the changing area with a wet body" should be displayed prominently. Both dinner and breakfast were served in a calm restaurant atmosphere and were delicious; however, I felt there weren’t many dishes unique to Yamanashi on offer. The breakfast menu seemed limited—comparable to that of a small Business Hotel buffet—but considering the price point, there’s absolutely nothing to complain about. I would definitely consider staying at this Hotel again!

    A dining area with a beautiful courtyard

    We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with my brother-in-law and his wife. We chose a Japanese-style Room, which was spacious and very comfortable. The bath facilities, including the open-air bath and wine bath, were excellent. For meals, we were guided to a semi-private room overlooking the courtyard, which was truly impressive. The dishes were served at a perfect pace, allowing us to enjoy them calmly. My brother-in-law and his wife seemed satisfied with everything as well, and we are glad we chose this Hotel. We would love to stay here again if given the chance. Thank you very much!

    Exceptional Hospitality

    Stayed at this accommodation in Isawa Onsen after about 50 years. The room facilities, large public bath, and breakfast service showed meticulous attention to detail not seen elsewhere. It was a wonderful accommodation that conveyed a strong desire to satisfy guests.

    The Onsen is very relaxing.

    I stayed on Friday, and the large public bath was an Onsen, spacious with an open-air bath, allowing for a relaxing and pleasant experience. The room was a clean Japanese-style room with no particular complaints. While dinner felt a bit lacking in content, breakfast was colorful and very satisfying. The hospitality and Onsen made me want to stay again.

    I had a pleasant stay.

    The cleaning was thorough, and both the Room and the bath were pleasant. The staff's service was also good. The meals were creatively prepared and delicious. However, it was a bit disappointing that the breakfast bread was slightly hard. The view from the window was also nice, and I would definitely like to use it again.

    It was a very clean hotel.

    There seem to be many relatively old hotels in Isawa Onsen, but this hotel has undergone significant interior renovations, making it overall very clean, with guest rooms equipped like those of a luxury hotel. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was not very effective, and the room felt a bit warm. The bath also had a sauna, and perhaps because there were fewer rooms, there were not many people bathing, allowing for a relaxing onsen experience. The quality of the spring was also good, and my skin felt smoother. The only disappointment was that the taste of the dinner was a bit monotonous, so I hope it can be improved. Aside from the dinner, it was the best hotel I've stayed at in Isawa Onsen so far.

    I was very satisfied.

    We used the Japanese Modern Triple room. As the name suggests, it was a Japanese modern room. The equipment and lighting were up-to-date (I was impressed that the lights turned on when approaching the toilet at night, so there was no need to leave unnecessary lights on), and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was also clean. I was particularly relieved that the floor was made of a non-slip material, which was reassuring for my parents who are over 80 years old. I was satisfied with the variety of baths. However, despite being called a wine bath, the strong scent of bath additives was a bit much, especially since they were added right in front of us. It's not enough to deduct points, though. We upgraded our meal because we have a child with a big appetite. We were very satisfied with both the taste and the quantity, but the reason for the deduction is that despite being in Yamanashi, there were only seafood dishes and not a single meat dish. (The image photo included meat dishes.) If you're serving two types of dishes with pike conger, I would have liked some meat as well. I understand that serving seafood in Yamanashi, and it being very delicious, is part of the "hospitality." The guidance to the room was omitted (we managed on our own), and towels were not allowed to be taken home, which made me feel that they were cutting costs where possible and focusing on the essentials, which I found agreeable.
