    Warm and welcoming hospitality

    Exceptional hospitality, wonderful Onsen, delicious cuisine, and the “Hell Tour” sights are all within walking distance—an experience that feels far beyond its price. Even local taxi drivers, who often provide Shuttle Service for guests, say they are told by Hotel staff, “This is an important guest, so please take good care of them.” It’s a Hotel that truly values its guests. They also said, “At that price, I’d like to stay there myself.”

    Glad we stayed here.

    I stayed here with my mother, who is 90 years old. 1. All the staff were very kind, and we had a comfortable stay. 2. Dinner offered a wide variety of dishes, including beef grilled on a lava stone plate, sashimi, fugu sashimi, and fried shrimp—everything was excellent and very satisfying. 3. The bath was very spacious and we fully enjoyed the Onsen, but it would have been even better if there had been a rock seat suitable for half-body bathing. 4. The building and our Room had been renovated, and everything was well cleaned and maintained—very nice overall. 5. Overall: This is a Hotel I would like to stay at again.

    The meals were extre...

    The meals were extremely satisfying—many dishes, luxurious, and fresh. The service was excellent. The front desk staff were kind. When I told them before departure that I had sprained my foot, they kindly accommodated me to reduce the strain on my foot. Thank you very much. A clean Hotel—I definitely want to visit again.

    Excellent location

    We stayed without meals, but the newly renovated Western-style Room was very comfortable. From the Room window, we could see the steam rising from Kannawa Onsen in billowing clouds—what a wonderful view! The Hotel staff were also kind, and it was a great Accommodation.

    It was very relaxing.

    It was a kind and welcoming Accommodation. The staff prepared the futons for us and kindly responded to our questions, which was very soothing. It was also great that it is close to the Hell Tour.

    I was truly impressed by the thoughtful attention to detail.

    I chose this Accommodation because it is very close to the Hells of Beppu. From the moment I arrived at the parking lot, I was promptly guided, and I felt this is an Accommodation with wonderful, thoughtful staff. At breakfast, I accidentally spilled miso soup on the table, and in that instant a staff member quickly went to the back and rushed over with a cloth. I was amazed at how fast they responded. The bath was also spacious, and although it was only one night, I truly felt refreshed. I would like to stay again. Thank you for making my trip so enjoyable.

    Unexpectedly comfortable—very satisfied.

    When making the Reservation, I was a little concerned about the Room size, but the staff kindly guided me on the day. When I entered the Room, it was more spacious than expected, and I was very satisfied with how comfortable it was and the view of rising hot-spring steam from the window. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. If I have another opportunity, I would like to stay again.

    Recommended accommodation.

    The room is spacious and comfortable. The meals are delicious, and even children with picky tastes enjoyed them happily. The presentation of the dishes is also excellent. Since it is not a very large accommodation, even during the fully booked New Year period, the open-air bath was not crowded and remained comfortable. The changing rooms were always kept clean, which was also highly appreciated.

    Highly recommended.

    The staff were all very kind. Even the trainees and bath cleaning staff were very pleasant, providing hospitable service that made our stay comfortable. The facility was clean, with well-stocked amenities, and the baths within the accommodation were spacious and spotless. The meals were delicious, with delightful touches in the appetizers that heightened our anticipation for the rest of the meal. Every dish was thoroughly enjoyable. The location is excellent, surrounded by many tourist spots and local onsen facilities. It’s an accommodation I would highly recommend and would love to stay at again.

    Highly recommended!

    The staff were very kind and greeted us every time we passed by, making it a wonderful place to stay. They also guided us on the order of the "Jigoku Meguri" tour, allowing us to visit all the spots! Thank you for promptly addressing our mistake. The view from the Room was beautiful. The entrance was clean, and complimentary welcome drinks were available for easy access. The aroma at the Onsen entrance was delightful. The Onsen itself was spacious and very relaxing! We appreciated being dropped off at the station after check-out. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Highly Satisfied

    At 5:50 AM, as I was about to go for a run in the light rain, I was kindly offered an umbrella. The warm "Have a good day" sent me off with joy. The meals and Onsen were also absolutely satisfying.

    Oniyama After Renovation

    This was my first time using this accommodation. I made a reservation because it had been newly renovated and I wanted to visit. As expected, it was very clean, and the bath was spacious and well-maintained. The lobby on the first floor became completely dark after around 9 PM. Additionally, during check-in, the air conditioning in the hallways and front desk area didn’t seem to be working properly overall, and it was turned off at night. The room itself was the coolest place to stay in terms of temperature. Dinner portions were small but delicious. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, and the male staff member at the restaurant in the morning greeted us warmly, which left a good impression. However, I was surprised that parking fees were charged even though we stayed overnight. Overall, while it is a clean accommodation after renovation, due to issues like hot hallways after bathing or lights being turned off at night, I don’t feel inclined to return to this hotel again.

    We stayed for two nights in a 10-tatami mat Japanese-style room with two meals included, as the final accommodation of our couple's trip around Kyushu. Driving a rental car from Kagoshima to Takachiho in Miyazaki and then stopping by Harajiri Falls before heading to Kannawa, we encountered unexpectedly narrow mountain roads that delayed us. Concerned about being late for check-in and dinner, we called the hotel and managed to arrive on time. Despite being slightly late, the staff provided exceptionally kind and attentive service, allowing us to enjoy a delicious dinner for which we were very grateful. The meals and Onsen were highly satisfying, making our three-day stay extremely comfortable. However, while the front desk staff and other team members offered excellent hospitality, it was disappointing that only one male staff member at the souvenir shop displayed rude behavior. When arranging delivery of souvenirs or clothing via courier service to our home, his attitude was unpleasant and left us feeling uncomfortable. Other than that incident, this historic hotel truly lived up to its reputation as an outstanding accommodation. We absolutely want to return someday! Thank you for three wonderful days!

    My husband visited B...

    My husband visited Beppu Onsen for the first time, and after much consideration, we decided to stay at Oniyama Hotel near the Jigoku Meguri. The room felt a bit old, but the Onsen was excellent. There were plenty of linens and yukatas available at the entrance of the large public bath, allowing us to use fresh ones every time comfortably. The meals, both breakfast and dinner, were incredibly delicious, leaving us both very satisfied. All the staff members were very polite and wonderful. Thank you very much!

    I had a great time.

    We had a wonderful stay. My mother wanted to visit Beppu Onsen, so after some research, we decided on this hotel. Its location near the Kannawa Bus Terminal is perfect for exploring the Jigoku Meguri and strolling around Kannawa. The hotel staff were all very attentive, polite, and friendly, making our stay truly comfortable. Since we arrived early, we left our luggage at the front desk and enjoyed the Jigoku Meguri tour. The front desk staff provided helpful advice on efficient routes and discount information, allowing us to fully enjoy not only the tour but also a Jigoku Mushi cooking experience. The newly renovated deluxe twin room was extremely comfortable. Although it was on a lower floor, we could see steam rising from Shiraike Jigoku next door, giving us a true sense of being in an Onsen town. The capsule coffee maker in the room allowed us to enjoy delicious coffee; however, since only teacups were provided instead of larger cups, setting it to level 5 as indicated would fill it too much—level 4 worked perfectly for a slightly stronger brew. The rice cracker snacks provided were crispy and delightful. The Onsen facilities included both indoor and outdoor baths that were spacious and relaxing. The outdoor bath with its natural hot spring water flowing directly from the source was particularly impressive. For dinner at their dining area, staff carefully timed each dish's serving so that everything arrived freshly prepared. The flavors and presentation rivaled those of high-end Kyoto kaiseki restaurants—one dish even featured "petal-shaped lily root" as part of its spring-themed design—and every dish was exquisite. Breakfast was served buffet-style with an extensive selection (including steamed dishes), making it hard to choose what to try first! On departure day, we used their shuttle service departing at 10:00 AM for the station—the driver was kind and professional as well. Overall, an excellent experience!

    Considering the accommodation cost, the room was not as expected and felt lacking. The open-air bath was not as spacious as imagined and had many leaves. However, the meals were delicious.

    Very courteous service

    The Hotel staff provided exceptionally attentive and courteous service, allowing us to enjoy a truly pleasant stay, for which we are deeply grateful! The meals were delicious with just the right portions, making it enjoyable until the very last bite. One minor concern was that after the cherry blossoms had fallen, there were quite a few leaves floating in the bath. However, the quality of the water itself was excellent and very relaxing, allowing us to unwind comfortably.

    We enjoyed a relaxing stay with the entire place to ourselves!

    Stayed for two nights and three days from March 4th to 5th. The newly renovated lobby, large bath, and Room as of February 10th were great. The entrance was still under construction, and I purchased some snacks (the same ones provided as a service in the Room) at the shop but noticed after buying that the expiration date was March 15th. While supermarkets often offer discounts based on a "2/3 rule" for expiration dates, it seemed that due to the renovation work and lack of customer turnover, expiration date management had been overlooked. It would be appreciated if items with only ten days left until expiration were offered as Room services instead of being displayed in the shop; items with over a month remaining should ideally be sold there. I disassembled the snack box I bought, so I didn’t request an exchange and took it home as is. However, my friend intended theirs as a gift and was able to exchange it for one with an extended expiration date (two months later). This aspect was slightly disappointing.

    I'm glad I chose this Hotel.

    I am really glad I chose this Hotel. Since it was right after the renovation, naturally the Room was clean, the bath was very nice, and the food was delicious and filling. What left a particularly good impression was the service of the attendant who guided us to our Room and prepared dinner (in-room dining). Of course, I had no complaints about any of the other staff either. In terms of location, I think it's an ideal Property for visiting Jigoku Meguri. Thank you for taking care of us.
