Excellent meals and an amazing view

We were blessed with great weather this time, and the view from the in-room semi-open-air bath was wonderful. The Onsen may feel a little lukewarm, but it keeps you warm for a long time. We heard the meals had just been updated with new offerings, and everything was delicious. With all amenities provided, this Accommodation is truly appreciated for allowing us to visit lightly and casually. We would love to return again in different seasons. Thank you very much again for this stay.

The sunrise rising over the sea is breathtaking!

The service struck a pleasant balance—attentive without being intrusive. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and just the right amount. The abalone rice porridge at breakfast was especially gentle and wonderfully tasty! You can enjoy a spectacular sunrise both from the Room and from the free-flowing natural hot spring bath. It was an Accommodation I would love to visit again.

Warm hospitality for solo travelers, from the Accommodation and host to the Onsen and cuisine.

The location is around the Izu Kogen area, past Granpal Park and near the main Izu Kogen Beer shop. I walked from Futo Station. On the map it’s about 1.5 km and 25 minutes, but it’s mostly a mountain road and parts of the path are poorly paved, so I don’t really recommend walking. It seems Tokai Bus runs from Izu-Kogen Station and Ito Station. It was a day in July with temperatures over 30°C, and although I’m confident with walking and enjoyed the climb, I drank about 1.5 liters of water. There are no vending machines along the way, and the owner also gave me the impression that walking from Futo Station isn’t what they’d prefer either—so please be careful. The Room has two spaces: a bedroom plus a living area. It’s simple but clean and very comfortable. One nice touch is that there’s a water dispenser in the Room, which was extremely helpful for me as someone who keeps drinking alcohol and soaking in an Onsen on hot summer days. It’s something even big Resort Hotels should learn from. The bath has an ocean view stretching from Izu Kogen down to the sea. The temperature is on the hot side—perfect for me. The tub is large wood, so you can fully stretch out, which was great. The washing area is also spacious enough. A few insects gathered at night, but if you love Onsen you have to coexist with nature. I was so satisfied with both the Room and bath that I didn’t step outside even once between check-in and check-out. I couldn’t hear any noise from other guests either (and judging by IKYU’s Reservation system it was probably fully booked), so on my way home I regretted not enjoying more of what this Accommodation had to offer. The food leaned heavily into Asian flavors and was excellent. It seems to be run by a couple who make everything themselves, so their explanations were naturally wonderful, and when I asked questions about dishes they answered in impressive detail. The spiny lobster nasi goreng was especially delicious, as was the warm chocolate fondant dessert topped with raspberries and ice cream. The late-night rice balls were also a nice touch. Breakfast was Japanese-style plus what is likely this Accommodation’s signature: abalone rice porridge. In fact, during my 3 nights/4 days staying around Izu I ate dried horse mackerel at every breakfast—and this one had the most fat and tasted best. Overall, every dish was delicious, with plenty that felt educational as well—I was completely satisfied. There are also several sightseeing spots and famous restaurants within walking distance of this Accommodation, so it seems you could enjoy your stay in many different ways. I could truly be satisfied with everything—food, clothing (amenities), and shelter—and thanks to the owner’s warmth plus falling in love with how hot the Onsen is, it became an incredibly fulfilling day. I’ll definitely return—ending my Review here.

An Onsen Hotel with Delicious Ethnic Cuisine

I’ve always loved ethnic cuisine, and we decided to stay here because the food has such a great reputation. Unfortunately, the weather was too bad to enjoy the ocean view from the window of the semi-open-air bath, but the tub was large enough for two, so we could relax and soak at our leisure. The Room is compact but functional and easy to use, and it was well cleaned, so we had a very comfortable stay. The meals we looked forward to were truly delicious. The only slight disappointment was that the abalone rice porridge at breakfast was quite strongly seasoned, so it felt a bit too rich alongside the other dishes. Still, considering the luxurious ingredients used, the Accommodation rate was very reasonable and much appreciated. It was also nice to have a water dispenser in the Room with hot and cold water available right away, making it easy to enjoy tea whenever we wanted. We’d love to visit again if we have another opportunity.

An ideal base for sightseeing, including Granillumi and Mount Komuro.

This time, we chose a no-dinner “Room assigned on arrival” Plan so we could visit Granillumi starting at 6:00 PM, but we were thrilled that you prepared our favorite Room that we always used to stay in. We checked in at 4:00 PM, soaked in the Room’s semi-open-air bath while looking out at the sea, then took a short break before walking to see Granillumi. The days are getting longer, so it wasn’t dark yet at the 6:00 PM start; it started to feel just right closer to 7:00 PM. It was our first time at Granillumi, and it was a fun, out-of-the-ordinary experience. For dinner, we didn’t use the on-site restaurant and instead ate at our regular curry specialty shop, Qubelle. We returned to the Accommodation around 8:30 PM and used the private indoor rock bath for the first time. It was spacious enough to stretch out and relax comfortably. The next morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast and took our time relaxing—soaking in the bath while looking out at the sea. We checked out at 11:00 AM and enjoyed sightseeing around Mt. Komuro. We’ve visited Izu Kogen many times, but this was our first time taking the lift and enjoying the panoramic view from Mt. Komuro’s summit. We were lucky with great weather that day and could clearly see Mt. Fuji as well. We felt that Hanahana is also an ideal base for sightseeing spots like Granillumi and Mt. Komuro.

Recommended for guests who want to relax in a quiet setting and enjoy delicious meals.

First of all, we were extremely satisfied with our stay. We stayed as a couple for one night and two days. Since there are only a few Rooms, it was quiet with few other guests, and the private open-air bath in the guest Room was spacious enough for two. The ocean view from the Room felt a bit distant, but we still enjoyed a wonderful panoramic view. Above all, the meals were delicious. We tried creative Asian cuisine for the first time, and everything—the taste, portion size, and presentation—was excellent; we would honestly come back just for the food alone. Because meals are served in-room, we could dine slowly in a peaceful setting and enjoy conversation together. The staff were very kind and attentive, making our time truly comfortable. We can’t thank you enough. Overall, we felt the pricing was very reasonable, making it easy to return again and again without hesitation. We had a wonderful time and felt refreshed. We would recommend this Accommodation to family and friends as well. Thank you very much.

As always, a consistently great stay with Hanahana.

We visited Izu Kogen to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom and stayed at Hanahana, where we can relax the most. On the first day, the weather was unfortunately on and off with rain, but the blossoms were at their best, and we fully enjoyed Sakura no Sato and the cherry tree-lined streets. We checked in after visiting Saijotaku Museum. At Hanahana, you can step right into a perfectly heated semi-open-air bath—anytime, as many times as you like. It’s wonderful, and it’s not something to take for granted. If the weather is good, you can also enjoy breathtaking ocean views. Truly moving. The overall structure of the meals stays consistent, with seasonal touches added throughout the year. The owner modestly says it doesn’t change much, but that’s exactly what makes it great—we come here for reliability and peace of mind. We would be sad if we could no longer have our favorites: Ise lobster stone-grilled nasi goreng, white fish with chili sauce, and fondant chocolate cake. Everything we could wish for in terms of amenities was provided, so we were very satisfied. When we visit Izu Kogen again, we would love to stay here again.

    Accommodation offering Asian cuisine

It was a last-minute decision to stay, but the room with a private open-air bath was relatively affordable, and overall, it was a satisfying stay. Dinner was creative Asian cuisine, which is rare for accommodation meals, and since I already like that type of food, it was incredibly delicious. After dinner, we enjoyed the illumination at the nearby Izu Granpal Park, which became a wonderful memory. A slight disappointment was that check-in time was as late as 4 PM and there were no options due to the last-minute reservation; we had to stay in a double bed room and couldn't sleep well. Next time, I would love to stay in a twin room. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

    The bath, cuisine, a...

The bath, cuisine, and room all receive high praise. I walked from Futo Station. Since the steep uphill path continues, it’s better not to walk unless you are confident in your physical strength. For those accustomed to walking steep slopes, it should take about 30 minutes to reach the accommodation—provided you don’t get lost. The room has a water dispenser with delicious water. Unusually, hot water is also available. In the lobby, there are herbal tea bags available; I used the hot water from the dispenser to make tea. There was a rare herbal tea called "Chai Spice," which was very tasty. It’s convenient as you can use hot water immediately without boiling it yourself. There are stylish lighting fixtures and an air purifier with a humidifier in the room as well. On the balcony, there is a semi-open-air onsen bath. It seems like seawater onsen since it has a salty scent of seawater. The temperature is slightly hot; I cooled it down with some cold water while bathing. I enjoyed soaking in this wonderful onsen while gazing at the distant sea and smelling its aroma. The quality of this bath is excellent. The shower has strong water pressure and is easy to use, though it takes some time for warm water to come out. This onsen bath makes me want to visit again. Meals were served in-room and were delicious. Alcoholic beverages can be ordered at reasonable prices. I ordered one bottle of New Summer Orange liquor for 1,000 yen. Since I wanted to visit Gran Illumi afterward, I finished dinner early. Check-in starts at 16:00 which may seem late but worked perfectly as we spent daytime playing at Granpal Park before checking in. The bed was absolutely stunning! When I saw photos beforehand, I immediately made my reservation because of how beautiful they looked—and they did not disappoint in person either! However, since the TV is located downstairs while beds are upstairs (in this maisonette-style accommodation), watching TV from bed isn’t possible. I had requested beforehand for a DVD player installation—it was properly set up upon arrival! We enjoyed watching Mozart's opera over dinner inside our room. With such an amazing bath and bed setup overall—I am extremely satisfied! Although climbing stairs within this maisonette layout might feel inconvenient or having no direct viewable TV near beds could be seen similarly inconvenient—it doesn’t diminish my strong desire wanting repeat stays here again!

    A Relaxing Accommodation

This was my first time staying here. From the warm welcome by the host upon arrival to the perfectly balanced hospitality, I felt comfortable without feeling overly attended to. I had some concerns about the food due to reviews mentioning it being salty, but everything was absolutely delicious. The dishes are prepared without cilantro for those who dislike it, but it can be added upon request for those who enjoy it. The rice balls provided as a late-night snack were just the right size and a thoughtful touch that I truly appreciated. The room amenities are minimal, but there is a variety of items available on the first floor that you can use as needed. The semi-open-air bath in the room was also excellent.

If you want to relax, this accommodation is perfect for you.

This was our second visit, and we stayed in the "Hana" room on one floor. While the maisonette we stayed in last time was great, at our age, a single-floor layout felt more comfortable and relaxing. The open-air Onsen with views of the sea and lush greenery was absolutely wonderful. The hot spring quality of Izu Kogen Onsen was excellent, leaving us warm and refreshed. This time, being able to watch TV while lying on the bed or during meals added to our enjoyment. Since it was a Western-style room, having meals at a table with chairs made dining more comfortable as well. The portion sizes were just right for us as seniors, and the taste was impeccable. The room amenities were excellent; everything we needed was provided, including a water server that also dispensed hot water—very convenient! All staff members were friendly and welcoming. With an Onsen open-air bath in the room and in-room dining service, we could truly relax at our own pace. Whenever we want to unwind completely, this Accommodation is always our choice. We look forward to visiting again when the seasons change! Thank you for another wonderful stay!

Relaxation and Extraordinary Ocean View Accommodation

We stayed in the maisonette-type "Oto" Room this time. The room wear was not yukata but samue, which made it easy and comfortable to move around. The hot water dispenser was convenient and much appreciated. The open-air bath in the guest room on the second floor was spacious and very enjoyable, offering a breathtaking view of the sea. The bathtub was large, at an ideal temperature, and provided excellent warmth. Even while lying on the bed, we could see the ocean, making it far from boring. For dinner, we were served various iconic Asian dishes that were flavorful without being overpowering. The level of spiciness was just right. We were delighted with luxurious ingredients like Ise lobster being included in the meal. Desserts were satisfying as well, and even the late-night rice balls were delicious. Breakfast featured a Japanese-style menu that was tasty, gentle on our stomachs, and perfectly portioned. Both meals being served in our room made for a very relaxing experience. Soaking in Onsen while gazing at the sea or enjoying delicious Asian cuisine in our room allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in an extraordinary experience that left us deeply relaxed. Everyone at this accommodation—from the owner to all staff—was warm and friendly, creating a very homely atmosphere. On our way home, my wife and I talked about wanting to stay next time in a Deluxe Twin Room without stairs for added convenience!

    Extremely satisfied!

The room features a private bath with a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean, available 24/7! Dinner is served in-room with a variety of delicious Asian cuisine, ensuring satisfaction. They even provided rice balls as a late-night snack. The room also includes a water dispenser, allowing you to enjoy cold water right after your bath—such a thoughtful touch! This has become one of the accommodations I would love to stay at again.

Both dinner and breakfast are highly satisfying!

I stayed in a maisonette-type room. The first floor was for dining, and the second floor had the bathroom and bedroom. Although the weather was unfortunate, I could faintly see the sea, and it’s clear that the view would have been spectacular on a sunny day. The food was absolutely delicious, including the late-night rice balls. Since it was close to my birthday, I also received a whole birthday cake. This is an accommodation I will definitely revisit!

    I am a returning guest.

Hana Hana is a family-run property with a very pleasant and friendly atmosphere, truly a wonderful place to stay. I make sure to visit once or twice a year. The cuisine has an Asian taste, including sashimi, and is delicious. It is the best property.
