    As expected from a top-ranked Ryokan.

    At first glance from the road, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but as I went inside, I discovered a wonderful building. Along with that, I was greeted by the staff’s warm voices and could feel the lively hospitality—this is truly a welcoming Ryokan. The Onsen water was excellent; my skin felt smooth afterward. The food was delicious, high quality, and generously portioned—I was very satisfied. Above all, the staff were outstanding; perhaps it’s family-run? It made for a truly pleasant trip. Thank you very much.

    Ideal for sightseeing in Kamikochi

    My family and I stayed here the day before our Kamikochi sightseeing trip. The young proprietress was very friendly and easy to talk to, and her unpretentious, thoughtful hospitality was truly comfortable. The open-air bath in our Room felt amazing—I could have stayed in it forever. Dinner featuring Hida beef had so many dishes that we wondered if we could finish them all, but everything was delicious and we all ate every last bite. The beef tataki we received as a gift from the Accommodation was also outstanding! They also kindly helped us plan for the next day’s Kamikochi sightseeing, making our stay completely satisfying. We would definitely like to stay here again on our next trip to Kamikochi!

    Very satisfied!

    I stayed here with five friends from my student days. From the warm welcome to the guidance and explanations on the way to our Room, everything started off comfortably. The furnishings throughout the building are decorated with items that evoke Hida, and you can stop and enjoy them along the way. For dinner, not only was the Hida beef we had been looking forward to excellent, but we were also very satisfied with both the variety and generous portions of local dishes. The large public bath—especially the spacious open-air bath—was relaxing, and I’d love to soak here again when it’s possible to enjoy a snow-viewing bath. Because it isn’t a large-scale Facility, it’s easy to find your way around, and even at check-out we felt genuine hospitality in both the staff’s service and their respectful sense of distance.

    It was very comfortable.

    The futon was fluffy and very comfortable to sleep on. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and we were very satisfied. Although the Facility is old, it was wonderfully clean. I did wonder about the design where access to the Room’s open-air bath is through the Room’s sliding door to the outside, but it wasn’t inconvenient. If I visit Okuhida Onsen Village again, I’d like to stay here again.

    An Accommodation that made me want to come back again after a long time

    The in-room open-air bath was amazing! It would be even better if there were a robe. The meals may be a matter of personal taste, but I’d prefer fewer options and more hearty portions of truly delicious dishes. A Multiple Night Stay would probably be the best way to enjoy Norikura.

    It had been a while ...

    It had been a while since our family went on an Onsen trip, but we were able to enjoy a quiet and relaxing time with minimal interaction with other guests during meals and in the baths. We soaked in the Onsen multiple times, warming both body and soul. The meals were all delicious, and we were satisfied with everything, including the dessert at dinner.

    Thank you for providing a heavenly cool escape from the extreme heat below. From the warm hospitality at check-in, I was able to completely relax. I enjoyed the large public bath and the Room's private bath so much that I lost count of how many times I used them.     The hospitality was excellent.

    The care and hospitality were excellent. While it didn't have an extravagant appearance at first glance, the attention to detail gave it the feel of a high-end private inn. Both the bath and meals were great, allowing for a relaxing stay. It seemed there were many foreign guests, but the meals were arranged so that each could dine in a separate Room, which was considerate and made for a satisfying experience. Quite a bit of snow fell at night, but I was moved to find that all the snow had been cleared off the car by the time of checkout. It was a Property that made me want to visit again.

    It was a wonderful trip to Hida.

    I have visited Takayama and Hida several times. This time, I stayed at this Property for the first time. I am very satisfied with everything: the Room, the meals, the Onsen, the futon, the interior, and the staff at Stays. Although I usually eat little, the food was so delicious that I ended up eating almost all of it. The open-air bath in the large public bath matched the surrounding scenery, and I felt very relaxed and rejuvenated. Thank you very much. I will come again.

    Neither good nor bad.

    Stayed after returning from a mountain climb. This year, the autumn leaves were late, and after descending this time, the changing seasons, such as snow on the Jandarm, have been difficult lately. Check-in was a bit delayed, but the hospitality was casual and helpful. The onsen was ordinary, but since there are few guest rooms, I was able to relax. The meals were delicious. Dinner featured Hida beef, and breakfast included Hoba miso. There was creativity, and it felt like more than its price. There was a water issue mentioned in the review, and I felt something off with the water from the washbasin. They provide bottled water, but as mentioned in the review, two 500ml bottles might not be enough. The water from the pot was better than the washbasin water, but it didn't feel smooth, so those who are concerned might be bothered. The meals were delicious, so I would like to visit again if I have the chance.
