    A cozy, nice accommodation

Perhaps because I visited on a weekday, the hot stone sauna and open-air bath felt completely private. The open-air area even had a sofa bed like you’d find at the beach, and I truly relaxed. Dinner was a simplified set, but more than enough. The rice was delicious, the extra plum wine I ordered was also excellent, and even after the meal the pre-made iced coffee on the second floor was great. These days, everything like this must be costly, but they never cut corners. The proprietress and staff were kind and welcoming—this was the most relaxing Accommodation I’ve stayed at this year. I’d love to drop by again on a whim.

The meals are delicious, and the hot water is excellent.

I visited around February and March for two consecutive years to see the Kawazu cherry blossoms, and even though it was a weekend stay, the price was surprisingly low—so I thought, “I have to go!” This time I decided to visit in the middle of summer, in August. The hot spring water is quite hot at around 44°C, which I hadn’t noticed during the colder season. There is also a private bath; I added a little cold water there before getting in, but in any case the water is excellent, and having it continuously flowing (free-flowing) feels truly luxurious. There is also a heated stone bath area—something like ganbanyoku or a stone bath—with stones laid out like a high-humidity sauna-style bathing Facility, and that was very good as well. Both breakfast and dinner were tasty, and although it was described as a smaller-portion course, it was more than enough. The only disappointing thing was that—as happened before—there were guests who rolled wheeled suitcases through indoor areas where people walk barefoot. I honestly can’t understand bringing something that has been rolling over outdoor ground (where there could be dog droppings) into shared spaces used by others as-is, but I suppose there are all kinds of people. For that reason, I reduced my rating by one star. From now on, I’m thinking of bringing my own slippers when I visit.

    It was very relaxing.

I had a wonderfully relaxing stay at a comfortable pace. It was quiet and spotless throughout, and the Onsen was incredibly open and wonderful. Every meal was deeply delicious. The staff were also very pleasant and welcoming. I feel as if both my body and mind have been refreshed. I can hardly believe how reasonably priced it is. Thank you very much. I will definitely return.

The meals and the Onsen were good. There were a few things that concerned me.

Breakfast only was included, but it was delicious. The Onsen was also great. It was especially nice to be able to use as many towels as needed. One concern: instead of being welcomed, we were asked, “Are you staying here? Do you have a Reservation?” A non-Japanese staff member assisted us, but at the same time a Japanese staff member was giving another group various explanations about the facilities. We received none at all. I understand there may have been a language barrier, but since there was no guidance, we had to go back to the front desk and ask for explanations ourselves. Also, the in-room refrigerator felt hot and wasn’t cooling properly, so we asked for it to be checked. When it was pulled out for inspection, we noticed a large buildup of dust around the fan area—this is likely the cause. I believe we were told that it won’t cool unless items are placed inside, but I had never heard of such a refrigerator before. We were given plenty of ice in a bowl so we could keep things cold—thank you. Since this Accommodation is located on temple grounds, I hoped to learn at least a little about the temple… At minimum, I thought goshuin might be available, but there was no information posted about that, which was disappointing. Thank you very much.

Once again, we were completely satisfied.

As I’ve gotten older, I can’t eat as much as I used to, so the smaller-portion Plan was just right in both quality and quantity. I felt refreshed with the Onsen, stone sauna, and massage. I’ll be back again—thank you in advance.

    We had a relaxing stay.

I usually stay with 2–3 people, but this time I stayed alone for the first time. I chose breakfast only, and it felt easy and comfortable on my own. I was able to take my time in the bath and truly relax. I’d love to come again when I have time since it’s so easy to travel solo, but it’s disappointing that making a Reservation for one person is difficult (it shows availability for two guests, but not for one).

    It was very comfortable.

The Facility’s interior was modern and relaxing, and everything was thoroughly cleaned and spotless. There was also a service that allowed us to reserve the bath for 45 minutes, so we enjoyed both the regular bath and the free-flowing natural hot spring. The water temperature was just right for us at 42°C. The meals offered a wide variety of dishes, all of which were delicious. The staff were very kind, and we truly had a comfortable stay. This time we stayed for one night and two days, but next time we would like to stay for two nights.

Accommodation requiring a minimum of a 2-night stay

At this price, the hospitality, cuisine, onsen, and the astonishingly spacious stone sauna room make it unforgettable—I regret not opting for a multiple night stay. Located in a secluded mountain area away from the city, this accommodation is perfect for relaxing both mind and body. The size of the stone sauna room was particularly impressive. The variety and quantity of food were more than satisfying for this price range, and even the additional sashimi platter we ordered was more than enough for two people—ordering it might not have been necessary! The selection of local sake and knowledgeable staff made our stay even more enjoyable. This is truly a high-quality accommodation where you can feel at ease. Next time, I’ll definitely book a multiple night stay!

    Heartfelt Hospitality

I visited after reading the reviews and was thoroughly impressed with everything—the hot springs, meals, and staff were all exceptional. The staff's natural and unpretentious hospitality made it easy to relax. I also tried Zen meditation and got to see the chair Harris sat on. I particularly enjoyed the vegetarian oyster fry and the Stone Bath. I stay at various accommodations more than 10 times a year, but I don't think there's any place as relaxing as this one. It's an accommodation that makes you wish it would never change and makes you want to return again.

    Onsen and meals are excellent.

The staff provided excellent service, making our stay very pleasant. The quality of the hot spring water was outstanding, but it often felt crowded, and we noticed long hairs in the bathwater, so we rate it 4 stars. The meals were exceptional. We've experienced dining at luxury Ryokans multiple times, but this meal was truly memorable and on par with them. It would be even better if there were relaxing chairs or sofas in the Room.

    An accommodation to refresh yourself.

As the title suggests, I visited to reflect on the past year and reset my mindset for the coming year. The room was, of course, a Japanese-style room. It was clean, bright, and offered a nice view in a one-room layout. Since my multiple night stay last year, this place has become a favorite of mine. Upon arrival this time as well, I immediately enjoyed the Onsen and stone sauna to rejuvenate my body. When time allowed, I sweated it out in the stone sauna and soaked in the silky-smooth Onsen to leave my skin feeling soft. Additionally, since there was quite a difference between the temperatures of the indoor bath and open-air bath this time around, I could enjoy alternating baths for ultimate relaxation—making it an even more fulfilling Onsen experience. The meals were also delightful with local specialties like kinmedai (golden eye snapper), wasabi rice bowl from Izu's regionally sourced ingredients—and even venison game meat newly added to their menu—further enhancing satisfaction. The staff remained as warm and friendly as ever; their hospitality is one reason why I continue choosing this place. However unfortunately during this visit aimed partly at Zen practice—the young head priest happened not being present so Zen had been postponed till next opportunity! That gives me another reason returning again soon looking forward eagerly! I’ll definitely be back again!

    Relax and unwind.

I had a very relaxing time. You can fully enjoy private Onsen rock bath, open-air baths, and more. Being able to use the rock bath from the morning was also great. The meals were not extravagant but carefully prepared, healthy, and delicious without overeating. Young men might find it a bit lacking?! The moderate sense of distance was also nice. I would love to visit again!

Relax and unwind in a spacious and comfortable setting.

This place offers unparalleled relaxation. The service is excellent, and the Room cleanliness is outstanding. The Onsen features an indoor bath with pleasantly hot water, and the outdoor bath seems to have skin-smoothing properties, making it very enjoyable. I also tried the stone sauna briefly, which was great for sweating thoroughly. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Personally, I would have appreciated being able to get a second serving of miso soup at breakfast.

An accommodation you'll want to visit again soon

The Onsen is truly amazing, leaving the skin feeling smooth and rejuvenated. The stone sauna was unique compared to others, warming the body and providing immediate effects. The meals were also delightful, featuring plenty of local ingredients and being gentle on the body. Everything was perfect, and I can't wait to invite my sister and visit again soon!

    Perfect for solo travelers.

Highly recommended for a peaceful stay without any disturbances. Enjoy reading a book, savoring delicious meals, or taking a bath whenever you feel like it (the private bath might be a bit hot). The staff's attentiveness and thoughtful gestures, along with the reasonable pricing, make this accommodation one that I would love to visit again.

    I had a relaxing time.

The staff were all kind and made our stay pleasant. The hot spring water was soft, with no added water or heating. The stone sauna provided a reflexology effect as you stepped on the pebbles! The soothing mist helped us relax deeply. The meals were delicious, making it a very satisfying overnight stay.

    I visited this accom...

I visited this accommodation after several years, and everything has been upgraded, making me love this place even more than before. The staff's service is as excellent as ever, the food is delicious, the onsen is wonderful, and the attention to detail throughout is outstanding. To put it mildly, it's perfect. The value for money is incredible. I was personally extremely satisfied! I will definitely stay here again.

    The hospitality is exceptional.

This was my second visit, but I was very satisfied as the plan was different from before. I also appreciated the allergy-friendly accommodations for my companion. After leaving, I felt like visiting this accommodation again. The onsen and stone sauna were also highly satisfying. I will definitely visit again!

Thank you for your continued support.

I had a relaxing stay, just like returning to my family home. The staff were kind, the Onsen and stone sauna were pleasant, and the thoughtfully prepared meals were delicious. Thank you for accommodating our requests as my husband was feeling unwell. Next time, we will visit together in perfect health. Wishing all the staff good health as the hot season approaches!

    Budget-friendly accommodation

With a limited number of rooms, the accommodation offers cozy spaces. Guests can enjoy coffee or barley tea made with onsen water at any time. While the private baths are excellent, the open-air baths and large communal baths are also very relaxing, especially the spacious stone sauna which was particularly impressive. Meals, both breakfast and dinner, were perfectly portioned and delicious. This accommodation provided a peaceful and rejuvenating stay.

    Delicious, fun, the best!

I am a 4.5-time repeater. I really like this property and would like to introduce it to everyone. It's becoming very popular, so it might become difficult to make a reservation, hence the quiet introduction (laughs). First, the meals are not overly luxurious or excessive like at high-end ryokans, but everything served is delicious. The simmered kinmedai pairs perfectly with freshly cooked rice. The sakura shrimp tempura was served hot after timing it just right. This is likely a service unique to smaller properties (In larger ryokans in the past, tempura was placed before us and of course had cooled down). The freshly cooked rice with special attention is excellent. Please savor it while looking at the photos of producers introduced at each table; it's a step different and will surely enhance your appreciation ("arigatami"). There are onsen baths with R&B and G&Y available. G&Y is especially valuable in small-scale properties. Oh, I'm talking about open-air baths and stone saunas... This year Kawazu cherry blossoms are delayed, but Shirahama Sakura no Sato was in full bloom. Highly recommended.

    A Pleasant Stay

I visited last year during the Kawazu Sakura season and had such a wonderful experience that I decided to return this year. During the Kawazu Sakura Festival, while the accommodation costs at nearby Ryokan can sometimes double, this Property offers pleasant Rooms, delicious meals, and relaxing Onsen without significantly raising their prices, which is truly appreciated. Last year, I visited in early March when the blossoms were starting to fall, so this year I shifted my visit to early February. Although the recent cold weather meant the Kawazu Sakura were still in bud, I felt it was worth the trip just to stay here. The Room is simple, functional, and has everything you need. Drinks and snacks are placed in the hallway, and you can help yourself freely. Although it is a temple lodging, they serve dishes like simmered golden-eye snapper, which you can enjoy with delicious rice to your heart's content. The phrase "washing one's soul" came to mind as I soaked in the open-air bath while snowflakes fell around me. The staff are all very pleasant, and I would love to visit again. One small suggestion: since it’s a cold season, I left the air conditioner on while sleeping and ended up with a scratchy throat. If possible, it would be great if you could provide humidifiers for guests. In any case, thank you very much for your hospitality.

Since we did not travel by car and used public transportation, some prior planning was necessary. However, the accommodation was very satisfying with reasonable pricing, excellent onsen, and clean rooms.

The flowers bloom quietly, and the birds sing by themselves.

Delicious meals, heartfelt hospitality, and a simple, elegant, and uncluttered space. Gentle hot springs... It was, to say the least, an exceptional place that made me hesitate to post a Review. It's a Stays that makes you grateful for the chance to stay. I want to share its greatness, but I don't want it to become too famous... It's a dilemma.

It was a very good accommodation.

I stayed for one night and two days. The room was clean, and both the hot spring and the stone sauna were great. I had the simmered golden eye snapper for dinner, and it was very delicious. Although there seemed to be many guests, it didn't feel crowded, and I was able to spend my time comfortably. I am satisfied with the customer service and the overall service. Thank you very much.
