    The hot water is excellent.

    The hot spring water is simply outstanding. Meeting the friendly and kind proprietress is also one of the highlights. I’ll be back again later this year. Thank you for everything!

    The Onsen I’ve Always Wanted to Try

    We stayed here because the Onsen comes highly recommended by doctors. Even with a short soak, it had a sweating effect, and we enjoyed all three bathing areas. We took our time enjoying breakfast in a lovely space downstairs. We also heard this Onsen is good for atopic dermatitis. Next time, I’d like to bring my grandchildren as well.

    It was great.

    About a 5-minute walk from the station, with parking for around four cars. The building is old, but it has been renovated and is comfortable. The design feels thoughtfully considered. There are baths and a dining area in the basement; there are stairs to go down, but handrails are installed. The Onsen baths were high quality and wonderfully warming. The meals were lightly seasoned for me but normal for my family, and the portions were generous. Some guests may come back because of the proprietress’s warm personality. If I have the chance, I would like to stay here again.

    The Ultimate Hot Spring Water

    This was my third stay, the first in a year and a half. The hot spring water here is simply outstanding— the moment you step in, you can’t help but let out a joyful sigh. I’m also grateful to the cheerful, welcoming proprietress for her thoughtful care in so many ways. It was my husband’s first time staying here, and he was impressed not only by the hot spring, but also by being able to enjoy some rare sake at dinner and by how beautifully the lighting is used throughout the Accommodation. Soaking in the hot spring washes away everyday fatigue and stress completely—once you stay here, you’ll find yourself coming back again and again. Thank you very much for your hospitality; I will definitely visit again within this year. Thank you.

    Traditional Ryokan

    I visit Yumoto, including Hakone, several times a year, and I think the quality of the hot spring water here is excellent. The water temperature is just right—not too hot or too cold—and after soaking a few times, my skin felt smooth. However, there are only three washing stations in the bath area, and when all are in use, there are no empty buckets for rinsing before entering the bath. It would be helpful to have extra buckets available for this purpose. Additionally, when I entered the bath once, there were already five people inside. Since it’s not possible to check how many people are inside from outside, it would be nice if there was a way to know so I could decide whether to wait or use another bath. The dining area was a calm and private space where the hostess and staff were attentive and made sure everything was comfortable. The meals had a homely touch with mild flavors and just the right portions; I especially appreciated how delicious the rice was. My Room faced both the road and river but noise wasn’t much of an issue during my stay. As someone who finds firm futons uncomfortable, I would have preferred having a mattress option. Having stayed at Hotels recently on most trips, it was refreshing to enjoy this traditional Ryokan experience—relaxing on tatami mats and having futons laid out during meals as per tradition. I look forward to visiting again!

    The staff were very kind, and when we mentioned it was a birthday trip for my husband, they prepared a fruit plate as dessert for dinner! The onsen water was just as the reviews said, leaving our skin smooth! It became a wonderful memory.

    The onsen quality was excellent and did not disappoint my onsen-loving parents. I could feel that the cleanliness of the basement onsen is maintained with great care, allowing us to fully enjoy it. All the dishes were delicious, but the homemade pickles and desserts left a particularly strong impression. The hostess was cheerful and friendly, making our first stay very relaxing. The ryokan is cozy, giving it a hidden retreat-like atmosphere that perfectly matches its interior design. It felt like a wonderful ryokan filled with heartfelt touches. I will make another reservation!

    A charming and rustic accommodation, it was perfect for us. The hostess was very friendly, and the staff were well-trained. Most importantly, the bath at this onsen accommodation was excellent, allowing us to relax completely. It's a place we definitely want to visit again but would prefer to keep as a hidden gem. The meals were also delicious.

    The hot water was excellent!

    I used the property for the first time after reading the reviews, and as reputed, the onsen and service were very good. The onsen had water and a bath size that suited my preferences, allowing me to enjoy a relaxing and happy time without overlapping with other guests. The service was also very accommodating, and the friendly response from the hostess was pleasant. The room was compact and functional, providing a comfort similar to being at home. I definitely want to visit again. Thank you very much!

    It was very good.

    The meals and service were very homely and nice. Due to the number of people and the travel schedule, the meal time was a bit early (starting at 18:00). I regret and apologize for not being able to fully enjoy the trip due to not feeling well. The Onsen was very pleasant, and the architecture was wonderful.

    Good Ryokan!

    It was a good Ryokan as reputed. The hospitality of the proprietress and all the staff was excellent, allowing us to have a pleasant time. The meals were not particularly extraordinary, but everything was delicious. If I had to point out some negatives: ① The tissue in the Room was like a paper towel and hard. ② It would have been better if the water in the indoor bath connected to the open-air bath was a bit hotter. ③ The coffee after breakfast was weak. These are not significant drawbacks. I definitely want to stay at this Ryokan again!!!

    Wipe the dirty Room with a cloth.

    Upon entering the Room and attempting to open the window, I found that all the window sills were covered in dust, as if they hadn't been cleaned for a month. I immediately reported this and, feeling uncomfortable, borrowed a cloth. The hostess seemed unaware of the Room's dirtiness and apologized, saying "I'm sorry." However, there were also small pieces of trash on the tatami, making the entire Room feel dirty.

    Smooth skin, full stomach

    We stayed for one night with dinner and breakfast included. We arrived at the Ryokan exhausted after being caught in traffic. After experiencing the bright and kind hospitality of the staff, we went to our room to take a breather before dinner. The kaiseki meal included freshly fried crispy tempura served later. Everything was delicious, and we were full. The Onsen features a free-flowing hot spring with silky water, and even a short soak left our bodies warm and our skin smooth the next morning. The morning bath was also very pleasant. Breakfast, like dinner, offered a wide variety, including yudofu, leaving us full and very satisfied. There were no large groups, and with few guest rooms, we were able to relax slowly and comfortably. However, there are many stairs, so please be careful if you have any issues with your legs or back. It might be a good idea to consult with the Ryokan in advance.

    I was able to relax slowly.

    We used it for a family trip. It was a cozy Onsen Ryokan with a building that gave a sense of history. The Review mentioned that the water was wonderful, so I was curious about it. Indeed, when I entered, it was gentle on the skin, and soaking slowly warmed my body from the core, leaving my skin moist even after getting out. The water temperature was on the hotter side, and when I entered the open-air bath, the outside air was cold, making it just right for a relaxing soak. The food was also elaborate and delicious. Thank you for all your efforts.

    Good Onsen

    I used it during the holiday in early November. The bathtub was a bit small, but I was able to enjoy it almost exclusively. The quality of the Onsen water is very good. Even though I didn't soak for a long time, my body felt warm and it seemed to boost my immunity. The front desk staff kindly provided various information, which was helpful. The meals were plentiful and delicious.

    Hot water

    The Ryokan is unique overall, comfortable, and very satisfying. The private open-air bath is a must-try! The water is smooth, with a slightly higher temperature, but your skin feels great in the morning! If you visit Yumoto, this Ryokan is highly recommended. I will definitely come again! Thank you!

    The hot water is truly wonderful.

    The staff, including the proprietress, are very friendly and pleasant, and as the reviews say, the hot spring water is truly wonderful. Even my father, who is always critical about accommodations, praised the hot spring this time. The access is also very good, being only about a five-minute walk from Yumoto, so I would like to continue visiting casually in the future. Thank you for taking care of us. I will definitely visit again within the year, so please take care of us then.
