    The service was good, but...

We stayed for one night with dinner and breakfast included. To be honest, it was a very disappointing experience. We had reserved a Room on the residential side, but thanks to the Accommodation’s kindness we were upgraded to an ocean-side Room that happened to be available. The amenities and complimentary drinks (a cartridge-style drink machine) were well stocked, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches. For meals, each Room has its own private dining room, so we could eat without worrying about other guests’ eyes, which was excellent. We were also satisfied with both the quality and portion size of the food. The only thing is that dishes are served quite quickly, which may bother older guests or those who are drinking alcohol. (In our case, neither of us drinks and we eat relatively quickly, so it didn’t concern us much.) As for the Onsen, different water is provided for the large public bath and the in-room bath. Even with an Onsen in the Room, it felt worthwhile to use the public bath as well. We were told that Dead Sea salt is used in the public bath as part of the proprietress’s preference. (However, we were also told that the public bath is not an Onsen.) From here are the disappointing points. After checking in, we tried to use the in-room bath right away, but unbelievably, the bathtub was extremely dirty. Large amounts of hair, scale buildup, and debris were floating in it—there was no way we felt like soaking. We spent about an hour skimming out debris until it looked reasonably clean; however, more debris floated up again later. This makes us suspect dirt has built up inside the circulation pipes and is flowing back into the tub. (There is a plastic mesh over where water is drawn in; it was covered with brown scale buildup and even after rinsing it off repeatedly would clog again from residue coming from inside.) Since there are Reviews describing similar issues as well, this does not seem like a one-off incident by chance. We have heard that circulating Onsen systems require weekly water changes/cleaning and annual pipe cleaning by obligation; this made us question whether those practices are actually being carried out. Guests stay at an Accommodation to enjoy an escape from everyday life. Being able to soak in an Onsen in your own Room should be one of its greatest attractions—so neglecting this point feels unacceptable as a service standard.

    It was the best stay!

The Accommodation was quiet and cozy—perfect for relaxing. It was my first time staying in a Room with a dining area, and it was great to be able to enjoy meals at a leisurely pace. If I had to mention anything, it would have been helpful to have a towel rack for hanging bath towels so we could enjoy the bath multiple times. Also, the bath had an excellent view, but when entering the room the blinds were fully open, and adjusting the blinds on the far side of the bath meant having to go over there while unclothed. It might be better if the blinds were lowered at first.

    We were completely s...

We were completely satisfied with everything—the meals, the Onsen, the Room, and the service.\nSimmered golden eye snapper is a specialty at Ryokan in Chiba, but although this one looked lightly seasoned, the flavor was thoroughly infused and we enjoyed it to the very end without finding it too strong.\nWe also loved the silky feel of the Onsen.\nWe’d love to visit again!

This was my first time staying here.

I stayed one night at Seito in Tateyama and was able to truly relax both physically and mentally. The Accommodation had a calm, clean atmosphere, and the staff were courteous and attentive, which made me feel at ease from the moment I arrived. From my room, I could see Tateyama’s gentle sea, and at sunset I found myself sitting by the window for quite a while just taking in the view. The meals featured plenty of local ingredients; in particular, the fish dishes were fresh and full of flavor, making the trip even more enjoyable. The semi-open-air bath was also perfect—the water temperature was just right, and it felt like my everyday fatigue slowly melted away. Overall, I felt this is an Accommodation with exceptionally high satisfaction for anyone who wants to spend time quietly. It was a stay that made me want to return in a different season.

Warm Hospitality and Delicious Cuisine Accommodation

We stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of two nights starting on August 8. The spacious Japanese-style Room allowed us to relax and unwind. The open-air bath in the Room also offered a wonderful sense of openness with an ocean view, and we enjoyed it very much. As the property prides itself on its cuisine, we were highly satisfied on both days. What especially pleased us was that there were no overlapping dishes at either dinner or breakfast. We expected some minor changes, but you prepared almost entirely different menus for us. We also requested cleaning on the second day, and when we returned from going out, the Room had been cleaned beautifully, which felt great. Next time, we would like to return and stay in a Japanese-Western style Room.

    It was my first visit!

I was looking for an Accommodation where I could enjoy great food and a comfortable stay from Tateyama down to Minamiboso. This Ryokan, Kappo Ryokan Seito, had excellent Reviews, so I chose it for an anniversary trip and to soak in the Onsen at a relaxed pace. The following includes my personal impressions. What was good: - Right on the sea, with the sound of waves and powerful views - The Room was cleaner than expected, with a well-designed layout - The Onsen is a cold mineral spring, but the benefits are very good - Dead Sea soap provided; it left my skin smooth - Even the standard meal course felt satisfying The simmered splendid alfonsino (kinmedai) was outstanding!! - The sashimi platter is luxurious! - You can truly unwind - There was an issue with Wi‑Fi, but they were willing to address it - In-room dining lets you relax at your own pace - It was a last-minute Reservation, but they accommodated my allergies - A well-balanced selection of water and tea in the Room What wasn’t so good: - Since it’s traditional Ryokan style, some needs aren’t fully met - As first-time guests we had many things to confirm and ended up waiting longer than expected - In summer, it would help to have something like a circulator fan in the changing area - Unavoidable, but power lines interfere with the view - It would be nice if you could adjust the Onsen temperature more easily - The cuisine is classic/traditional and didn’t feel especially inspiring at times - Draft beer seemed underused or poorly maintained and had an off smell/taste - Braised hijiki at breakfast appeared spoiled yet was served Overall, I felt I’d like to visit again, and I could sense the dedication of all the staff. If you want to forget city noise or spend quiet time together as a couple, this is a very good Accommodation. Maintaining a property in this location must be challenging, but we’ll come again—please keep up the great work!!

I want to stay here again!

We stayed here to make some special memories as a couple before the baby arrives. Since we had consulted about meals in advance, all raw items were cooked through, and we were able to enjoy an extremely satisfying meal. The guest Room had a private indoor bath, and they also lent us simple handrails and a step stool. The Room was clean, and it was equipped with a KINUJO hair dryer and hair iron, which made my wife very happy. It was a wonderful 1-night, 2-day stay, and we are truly grateful for the thoughtful care from all the staff. It seems children of elementary school age or younger cannot stay here, so it may be difficult for us to visit again soon—but once our child is older, we will definitely come back. It was also the first time I’ve ever had spiny lobster that delicious! Thank you very much!

    Highly Satisfying Accommodation

This was our first return visit in almost a year. From check-in—starting with their thanks for our previous stay—through checkout the next day, every staff member provided hospitality-filled service. Thank you very much. We stayed in a sea-facing Room different from last year’s, and we definitely preferred this type. The bath, adjusted in advance to our requested temperature, was spacious enough for two adults to stretch out and relax, warming us through to the core. The bed’s backrest is designed to make watching TV comfortable—nothing to fault there. The motion-sensor toilet is also step-free and very comfortable. We were extremely satisfied with this Boso spiny lobster-focused Plan. The sashimi was wonderfully springy; the grilled dish was delicious even with just the lobster miso; and everything through the golden simmered dish and takikomi rice fully showcased the lobster’s appeal. The only meat dish, roast beef, was very tender, and both the opening soup and final soup had rich dashi flavor—no complaints at all. For breakfast, their signature namero featured Spanish mackerel; it was gentle, smooth, and thoroughly enjoyable. The services that make this an ideal stay-in Accommodation are outstanding: a free coffee machine on the first floor; 2L mineral water in the fridge (something you rarely see elsewhere); and turning leftover dinner rice into onigiri. They also allow you to bring in wine at reasonable fees, so next time we’d like to bring a favorite bottle. As one of the rare Accommodations that offers in-room dining, we hope to continue staying here for years to come.

In the pouring rain… but then… just as I thought…??

We decided to take a trip for my birthday. Lately, our trips have been lively ones with our children and grandchildren, and I’ve always left the Reservation arrangements to my kids. This time, since it was before spring break and our schedules didn’t match up with the grandchildren, it ended up being a trip just for the two of us. My husband absolutely loves seafood, so I searched for an Accommodation with a strong focus on food Reviews… …and we found it! In-room dining, the bath, the location—our expectations were high. We made a Reservation right away and looked forward to it so much. That’s why… it poured with rain. But still—still— When an Accommodation has great Reviews, there’s usually a reason. The meal was truly thoughtful and beautifully presented—and above all, delicious. I snapped a quick photo and then couldn’t stop eating. Thank you for such a happy time.

We enjoyed delicious locally caught fish.

After soaking in the large public bath with Black Sea salt, we enjoyed delicious local fish in our Room, including sashimi of abalone and turban shell. The dishes were served at just the right timing to match our pace, so we could dine slowly and comfortably. Everything was carefully prepared, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was also very good. It was great that both the semi-open-air in-Room bath and the large public bath were available 24 hours a day.

    Not quite what I expected...

I planned this trip with a friend because we wanted to stay somewhere we could really enjoy Ryokan cuisine, and this was our main choice for the trip. Just as the title says, the food, service, and Room were all 100 times better than I expected—I was truly impressed. As for the meals, both my friend and I used to work in a kappo restaurant, so we enjoyed dining here with a sense of nostalgia. We could feel the attention to detail in every aspect—beautiful colors and seasoning—and we savored each dish while appreciating the craftsmanship. We originally didn’t plan to have breakfast, but after dinner we decided we wanted it too and asked at the last minute (that’s how delicious it was). For dinner, when we couldn’t finish the sea bream rice cooked in a pot, they kindly made onigiri for a late-night snack and delivered them to our Room. Regarding the baths, hot spring water flowed continuously in our Room from the source, so I got in right after arriving. The large public bath also had water containing Dead Sea salt minerals, so I used it late at night on our arrival day. It felt wonderful. After bathing, I took a short walk along the coast to cool down. There was a convenience store about 10–15 minutes away on foot; I bought something to go with the late-night onigiri and went back to our Room to enjoy them right away. It was an ideal one-night stay for relieving everyday fatigue. I would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Thank you for your support.

We were allowed to check in early despite the strong winds, which gave us time to relax in the bath and unwind. Dinner was also a highlight—so many delicious dishes, including local fish, that we couldn’t finish them all. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Since there is almost no lobby or common area, it was disappointing that there is no place to relax with a drink unless you bring it back to your Room yourself.

A charming renovated Ryokan with a classic, nostalgic atmosphere.

I stayed here during a holiday weekend with strong sea winds. With only a small number of Rooms, the Accommodation felt quiet and relaxing. The view from the Room was nostalgic and brought back memories of the countryside. Unfortunately, the wind was too strong to go for walks. I wished there were comfortable sofas or a lounge area inside where guests could relax. The bath is described as a “Dead Sea bath,” and it was also nostalgic—a charming large public bath where I could unwind. The in-room bath is an Onsen in a high-end unit-style bathroom, so you can relax comfortably. It warmed me right up. The meals were excellent, mainly Japanese cuisine featuring fish. There were also many Chiba sake labels, and everything I tried was delicious. The floor chairs had a modern, stylish design, but when walking nearby I caught my toes on them several times, which felt dangerous—so just be careful. This wonderful Accommodation is a renovated Showa-era building with a great atmosphere, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys places with some vintage character.

The dinner was exceptionally high-quality and generous in portion size.

I’ve stayed here many times. The clean, comfortable Room (I believe every Room has a semi-open-air Onsen bath) is wonderful, and I can’t wait for dinner every time. The meal just keeps coming—appetizers, sashimi, tempura, beef, abalone, sea bream rice, soba noodles, dessert, and even more like simmered golden eye snapper. Everything is incredibly delicious and the portions are huge. When we stay at Seito, we skip lunch and arrive starving—you’ll understand why once you stay! Many Accommodations in this area in the 30,000-yen range are high quality, but for food I’d say Seito is No. 1. It’s an Accommodation that offers value equal to—or greater than—the Accommodation Fee.

The open-air bath in your Room lets you enjoy the sea by day and the starry sky at night—and it’s even an Onsen!

Both dinner and breakfast were served in our Room, and everything was delicious. The spiny lobster sashimi was incredibly fresh, wonderfully firm and springy, and tasted amazing. As others have mentioned, the namero for breakfast is also outstanding. The fish changes by season, and we had bonito namero. We called in advance to bring our own wine; the corkage fee was reasonable, and they even provided proper glasses, which really impressed us. Also, the Room was very clean and spacious, so we could relax comfortably. We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, with an ocean view, and at night we enjoyed soaking while gazing at the stars. Since the water in the private open-air bath is Onsen water, we were able to soak slowly as many times as we liked—completely satisfied.

    We had a wonderful time.

Stayed on May 19th. We visited as a couple, and everything from the Shuttle Service from Tateyama Station, the meals, the Room, the private bath in the Room, to being dropped off again at the end was absolutely wonderful. The staff were all very pleasant and made our stay enjoyable and comfortable. We will definitely visit again. Thank you so much!

I would like to stay here again.

I had been interested in this accommodation for some time because of its private dining room, but previously the room's bath was not an onsen, which was a drawback. However, upon learning that the bath is now an onsen, I finally had the chance to stay. The room was just the right size for two people. The availability of bathrobes after bathing was a nice touch. However, there were two points of concern: the cushion and bed pillows. The cushion was too small to lean against and there was only one; it would be better if at least two were provided so both guests could use them simultaneously. Additionally, while watching the large TV from bed requires leaning back against something, the pillows were firm and small and didn’t serve as proper support. Providing each guest with two larger pillows would be ideal. The room’s bath seemed a bit small for two adults at first glance but worked fine when sitting face-to-face. That said, since there is still space in the bathroom area, a slightly larger tub would be even better. Unfortunately, due to bad weather during our stay, we couldn’t enjoy views like sunrise from the bath; however, I’d love to revisit on a clear day to fully appreciate it. For dinner, we ordered sashimi featuring Boso shrimp; however other sashimi options leaned heavily towards white fish varieties—I felt more variety would have been nice. On another note though—the dashi broth served in dobin-mushi that followed truly lived up to this ryokan’s reputation as refined cuisine—it was deeply flavorful and absolutely satisfying! The simmered kinmedai (golden eye snapper) also had a light seasoning that my wife particularly enjoyed. Surprisingly though breakfast left an even stronger impression than dinner did! A standout dish worth mentioning is their namero made with white fish—a refreshing take compared against traditional horse mackerel versions—delicately seasoned with mild saltiness making it perfect when poured over rice as ochazuke-style tea soup transformation too! It alone makes me want return again someday! Lastly staff members across-the-board exuded warmth professionalism ensuring meal service timing impeccable throughout entire experience—definitely planning future stays here again soon!

    Warm and welcoming service.

Thank you for your thoughtful care with medicine and breakfast for my unwell husband. Your genuine hospitality truly warmed our hearts. The food was delicious, and the Onsen's water quality was excellent, leaving us very satisfied. During the Shuttle Service in a luxury car, we were delighted to stop by a beautiful shrine with cherry blossoms.

    The meals are exceptional!

The atmosphere was great, and the room was spacious, allowing us to relax. Since it was a room with an open-air bath, we could enjoy the Onsen without stepping outside. However, two areas around the Onsen were completely exposed. It would be reassuring if doors or some form of cover could be added. One side offers a view of the sea with beautiful scenery but is fully visible from next door and even by people walking along the street. The other side, although higher than nearby houses, still did not feel secure and caused significant discomfort. As for the meals, they were among the best we've ever had at any Ryokan. Thank you for the wonderful dishes!

    A culinary Property

Thank you for your hospitality. The view from the semi-open-air bath was fantastic. The bath in the Room's semi-open-air bath was also pleasant. Regarding the food, I must say that the ingredients were excellent and very delicious on their own. However, ① there was too much quantity. Even for someone with a big appetite like me, it was impossible to finish in one sitting. ② The miso soup at breakfast was lukewarm, which was a bit disappointing for someone who likes hot miso soup like me. Also, ③ the grilled dried horse mackerel at breakfast wasn't cooked enough; it would have been better if it had been cooked a little more thoroughly. But overall, I could relax comfortably. The Nepalese staff member (nakai) worked hard and left a good impression on me.

A delightful accommodation with delicious cuisine and excellent hospitality.

I made a reservation at the accommodation to celebrate my husband's birthday, which falls at the beginning of the year. Initially, it was a reservation for three people, but due to health issues, I contacted them to change the reservation to two people and received very courteous assistance. I requested a surprise birthday cake, and it was a great success—my husband was very pleased. The food was delicious, and the bath facilities were clean and pleasant. Next time, I hope to visit again with all three family members!

    Wonderful!

I visited to escape from the extremely busy days for a while, but... The sophisticated Room, the bath where you can relax while looking at the sea, and even a Room just for dining, ensured complete privacy, making it a wonderful stay with only the sound of waves being pleasant in the quiet. Above all, the deliciousness of the meals!!! Starting with appetizers, sashimi, simmered fish, and more... I was deeply impressed while savoring various fish dishes. The kamameshi, which was made into rice balls because I couldn't finish it with a full stomach, was also very delicious. All the staff were kind, and truly! I was able to spend a wonderful time being healed both physically and mentally. I definitely want to visit again.
