    The location is excellent.

    This was my first stay. The Hotel is integrated with the newly opened “Karuizawa T-SITE” at the North Exit of Karuizawa Station. There is also an outlet mall at the South Exit, making it an ideal location for shopping. The Hotel has high ceilings, so it feels spacious and relaxing with no sense of confinement. It features a stylish mountain-lodge-inspired design. You can also use a shared lounge located a short distance away—it was very spacious and perfect for unwinding. There was a wide selection of drinks, and plenty of nostalgic Japanese snacks as well. The staff were all very kind and welcoming. For stays in Karuizawa, I will choose Hacienda Karuizawa.

    Second Stay

    I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay. Because I had a good impression last time, I decided to stay multiple nights again, but when I went out on the second day and returned to my Room, the Room key no longer worked... It was probably not set up as a Multiple Night Stay. This has never happened to me even at overseas hotels, so it’s a small thing, but it was disappointing. Late at night, when the guest in the next Room uses the bathroom area, vibrations from sounds like opening and closing doors travel through the headboard and can be heard. Because of the layout where the bed is adjacent to the bathroom area, it seems unavoidable during normal use. Last time it didn’t bother me—maybe because it wasn’t a busy season and that Room was empty—but this time I couldn’t sleep on the second night. I would like Hotel staff to check this once. Since it’s along the railway line, soundproofing from outside is solid, but if this is how it is between neighboring Rooms... This is not inside the Hotel: in the hot bath Facility area, the stand for placing wash buckets protrudes toward you. If you leave the shower mounted on its holder, it’s hard to use; many people end up using it handheld. When you walk behind them, you get splashed by their shower water, which doesn’t feel pleasant. Why did they make that stand so wide...?

    A New Hotel Near the Station

    Its convenient location near the station made it easy to drop off our luggage and start our trip right away. Every Facility felt new and spotless, and we had a very comfortable stay. The Hotel has few shared facilities, but we really enjoyed being able to use the adjacent hot-spring Facility and lounge. Points I’d like improved so future stays can be even more comfortable: The breakfast delivered in a basket is exciting to open! However, when taking everything out to eat, there are many small items—dressing, small jars of jam, salt and pepper, etc.—so it would be easier if these could be grouped together so they can be taken out quickly. If the salad is covered together with hot items even for a short time, it ends up disappointing. I wondered if that wasn’t taken into account. Since there are plenty of drink options like juice, I would have preferred regular yogurt rather than drinkable yogurt. Also, regarding the Room table: it doesn’t seem designed for dining. Because it’s natural wood it isn’t perfectly flat… and it’s also too low for eating. I never figured out where I was supposed to sit—are guests expected to sit directly on the floor?? The herbal tea served on arrival was very weak and tasted almost like plain hot water.

    Wonderful Hotel

    This summer, we decided to travel from hot Tokyo to Karuizawa, and while searching for a Hotel, we found HACIENDA, which had just opened, and stayed there. It’s directly connected to the station, which is very convenient. As soon as we stepped inside, it was quiet and beautifully designed; the warmth and scent of the wood were truly soothing. The Room was clean, spotless, and spacious—an extremely comfortable space. The welcome herbal tea was delicious. The bed was very comfortable, and I slept soundly. The amenities were also so cute that they lifted my mood. We could use the adjacent spa and lounge as many times as we wanted during our stay—what a wonderful Accommodation perk! My husband said the sauna and bath were amazing and went in again and again. We’ve been saying as a couple, “We want to make this our go-to place for summer trips.” Not only in summer—we’d love to visit again in a different season. All of the staff were kind with just the right level of attentiveness. I usually get tired from staying at Hotels, but here I was able to relax without feeling drained. Thank you very much for all your thoughtful care.

    Looking forward to what’s next.

    The location is excellent. Getting here from the outlet mall was easy, and the Room was spacious, which helped us relax and recover from our fatigue. The lounge and bathing Facility were also outstanding. Since it has only recently opened, the staff still seem a bit new to their roles, and I look forward to seeing how things improve on my next visit. I would like to stay here again in the future.

    Perfectly balancing the convenience of direct access from the station with Karuizawa’s signature tranquility.

    I’d been curious about this place for a while, and this time I stayed for one night, partly for work. In short, it was even more comfortable than I expected, and I was truly satisfied with my stay. The location is incredibly convenient—directly connected to Karuizawa Station—but once you step through the Hotel doors, the bustle around the station fades away and you’re in a quiet, calm space. The interior feels less like a typical Hotel and more like a refined private residence. If you love The Conran Shop or interior design, I think you’ll really enjoy simply admiring the carefully selected furniture and decor. In my Room, I didn’t even turn on the TV—I read books borrowed from the library and relaxed on the sofa, enjoying a luxurious pace of time without feeling rushed. Since it’s inside a commercial complex I had some concerns, but even at night it was surprisingly quiet and I slept very soundly. The adjacent AQUAIGNIS GARDEN SPA also exceeded expectations: there are two types each of saunas and cold baths, which made it extremely satisfying. In particular, I loved the outdoor wood-fired sauna—you can unwind while watching the flickering flames. The cold bath was also deep enough to submerge in, which felt amazing. I heard that The Conran Shop supervised this design as well; it has a level of luxury that sets it apart from other bathing facilities while still delivering exactly what sauna lovers want—an outstanding spa. The staff’s service struck an exquisite balance: not overly formal but never hands-off either. They paid close attention to guests and offered thoughtful care in subtle ways. Their guidance was smooth and professional, and their warm hospitality soothed me without disrupting the quiet atmosphere of the Hotel. Thank you very much.

    Luxury just one hour from Tokyo. Complimentary spa & lounge for the perfect reset.

    Wanting to refresh away from the everyday hustle, I visited Hacienda Karuizawa on a solo trip from Tokyo by Shinkansen. Despite its unbeatable location—just a 1-minute walk from Karuizawa Station—the moment you open the door, the bustle outside fades away as if it were a lie, and you’re enveloped in refined fragrance and calm. In this intimate Accommodation with only nine Rooms (the interiors supervised by The Conran Shop are truly wonderful), it’s easy to unwind—and best of all, as a guest benefit, I could use the “Aqua Ignis Garden Spa” and the “Share Lounge” free of charge. After gently loosening up in the spa’s sauna and open-air bath, I spent time in the Share Lounge reading whatever book I liked… I was able to fully enjoy blissful moments undisturbed by anyone. The staff’s sense of distance is perfect as well; their warm hospitality made me feel welcome even as a solo traveler. Beyond how comfortable the Room is, having full access to both the spa and lounge adds up to an experience that is unquestionably “worth more than the price.” Even with such excellent access from Tokyo, there’s nowhere else that lets you reset so deeply and truly indulge yourself. This is my precious hideaway—one I want to return to again as a reward for myself, in every season.
