The breakfast buffet is the best among Nagoya’s newly opened hotels.
For this stay, after my daughter’s family stayed on August 21, my husband said he wanted to stay as well, so we decided to make a Reservation. We requested the same Room my daughter’s family had used, and from the Room window we could see our home building, which truly moved my husband. This time, we were especially looking forward to dining at the teppanyaki kaiseki restaurant. The dishes—black abalone, lobster, and Matsusaka beef tenderloin—were beautifully creative. They were a delight to look at and so delicious that I couldn’t help saying “Delicious” out loud. I often have teppanyaki at other hotels, but it can feel heavy afterward and is difficult once I return to the Room. However, the teppanyaki at Conrad Hotel did not feel heavy at all. As for the breakfast buffet, it was excellent. I am a regular guest of Nagoya Marriott Hotel and have been staying there every month since it opened 25 years ago, using its restaurants weekly. I have also stayed at several other hotels after they opened (including iCoc Hotel in the Chunichi Building area), but their breakfast buffets were somewhat disappointing. In contrast, the breakfast buffet at Conrad Hotel Nagoya is the best among hotels in Nagoya. The restaurant was spacious, and the staff’s warm smiles were very comforting. Thank you very much for your hospitality. I already have an Accommodation Reservation for next year as well and look forward to staying again.

[Areas for Improvement] - Due to crowding in the club lounge, there was a time limit during cocktail hour. - I stayed for two nights, but the food selection in the club lounge was exactly the same both days. - The outdoor seating area of the club lounge was too dark at night, making it unsafe to watch your step—especially at the tables toward the back. - The table layout in the club lounge felt cramped; it wasn’t an atmosphere where you could enjoy tea in a relaxed, elegant way. - On the first day, possibly due to a key card setup error, my card did not allow elevator access to the lounge. [What Was Good] - Staff were always present at the pool and provided excellent service, including placing towels on loungers for guests.

The Facility is excellent, but the interior design doesn’t live up to it. Don’t cut corners on costs.
The lounge felt undersized relative to demand. Even during Monday afternoon tea time, seating was insufficient, and it’s hard to imagine this capacity accommodating peak-season or weekend crowds. Breakfast is also quite minimal in both variety and portion size. At present, breakfast at the Hilton Nagoya (a sister property) feels more extensive, with more options and a more enjoyable dining experience. Given the Conrad brand and price point, the current lounge and breakfast offering did not provide a compelling incentive to choose Conrad Nagoya over Hilton Nagoya. In the bathroom powder area, there is even a Dyson hair dryer, yet there is no sink basin or faucet. This makes it inconvenient as a place to get ready after bathing. Please consider adding plumbing so a sink can be installed.

We had a great time!
We stayed for one night with an elderly family member. Last year, when we had a meal at the Chunichi Building, we saw the construction in progress and looked forward to staying here once it opened. After an exciting and smooth check-in, we went up to our guest Room. When we tapped the key card and entered, it was completely dark. With the entrance door left open, I first searched for the toilet light switch to get some light, then looked for the main Room lights, and then found the shutter switch near the bed. Once I opened the shutters and let in daylight, I was moved by the view of Nagoya spread out below us—so I quickly forgot my initial panic. Still, I wished I had asked at check-in how to reach the front desk by internal phone. Since you have only recently opened, I understand that these things can happen. One note about breakfast: there was a line of about three groups waiting at the entrance as guests were being seated in order. They kindly guided us to seats where my elderly family member could easily reach the food, which we appreciated. However, after my family member ordered eel ochazuke as a main dish and was impressed by how delicious the broth was—planning to drink it at the end—the bowl was taken away quickly. With more guests lining up at breakfast time, I understand they wanted faster turnover, but it would have been better if they had asked first whether we were finished. Other than that, everyone welcomed us warmly with smiles. In the evening there was an evening service with chocolates (which made me happy because I was tired), and when they asked if there was anything else we needed, they brought us ice that we wanted. From greeting us at the entrance to seeing us off at the elevator, all staff members kindly engaged in conversation with our elderly family member. Spending time together in our guest Room while enjoying both daytime views and beautiful night scenery became a wonderful memory for us. Even at checkout, all staff members saw us off pleasantly until the very end. We would like to stay again when we have another opportunity.

The executive lounge is terrible.
The service from the Executive Lounge staff (both men and women) was extremely poor. Even though one staff member was Japanese (male), we could not communicate. The female staff were likely foreign nationals, but they could not understand what we were saying. This was not worthy of an Executive Lounge.

We had an enjoyable stay.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this new Hotel. The view is the best among Hotels in Nagoya. The staff were wonderful—very friendly and always smiling. On the other hand, I felt there is still room to improve operations (for example, forgetting to hand over the information sheet at check-in, and not being able to get through when calling the front desk). The lounge was quite crowded. Well, since it’s free, I can’t really complain (I did find it odd when making the Reservation that there was no price difference between the Plan with lounge access and the Plan without—perhaps most guests chose the one with lounge access). Breakfast offers a wide variety of items, but the taste was a bit disappointing. The signature dishes you can order were also just so-so. Dining is an important part of a Hotel stay, so I hope this improves. One important note: a swim cap is required to use the pool, but this isn’t mentioned on the website or elsewhere. Rentals are available, but cost ¥1,100 per use. It’s great that children can use the pool too, but if swim caps are mandatory, this should be clearly stated in the usage information. I hope this is addressed as soon as possible. Despite all of that, our child was very happy and it turned into a great summer vacation for us.

A Hotel with a Great View
With only one tall building nearby, the views are excellent. It feels refreshing to be able to look down on the TV Tower. The view from the pool is also outstanding. Few hotels have a pool on a high floor, so it is a rare feature. One drawback is that each Facility feels small for the number of guest rooms. If the pool, bath area, lounge, and restaurant were a bit larger, it would help reduce crowding. The lounge did not offer much food, but there were 14 types of tea—black tea, green tea, and herbal tea—so choosing was enjoyable. During cocktail time, some items such as dim sum were not replenished quickly enough. However, breakfast at the restaurant offered plenty of variety and more than enough food. Finally, all staff members were pleasant and left a great impression. I’m happy to see a good Hotel open in Nagoya. Since it’s nearby, I’d like to visit again.

Amazing views like a castle in the sky, and the staff are excellent.
We visited to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and since the new Conrad has just opened, we booked an Executive King Room right away. When we mentioned it was a birthday trip, the staff congratulated us many times and even prepared a whole cake at our requested time. Every Room is 50 sqm, and the view was completely unobstructed—Nagoya Castle, the TV Tower, and even fireworks from Nagashima Spa Land in the distance. Most impressive of all was the warm smiles and friendly service from every staff member. Even though it had only been open for a little over three weeks, their training was clearly excellent, which truly impressed me. Bonsai—one of Japan’s traditional arts—was beautifully placed throughout the Hotel, creating a calm atmosphere. (Last month I stayed in a corner Room at another chain in Tokyo with a Tokyo Tower view that cost just under 400,000 yen per night, but honestly the service there didn’t compare at all...) The pool is available from 6:30 AM, which is perfect for someone like me who likes to start early. The jacuzzi by the pool is set one level higher than the pool itself with great views; I warmed up there after swimming and went back and forth for about three hours. (Children are not allowed after 6:00 PM.) The gym is open 24 hours. Since we stayed on an executive level this time, we didn’t eat outside the Hotel much; however, even if you stay in a standard category Room, there are restaurants in the commercial complex below that are open until 11:00 PM—including sushi and eel—so you could easily have all your meals within the building. If I had to mention one disappointment, it would be that we couldn’t use the pool or gym before check-in. Other than that, everything was extremely satisfying. The next time I visit Nagoya, I’d love to stay again—and see those charming staff members once more.

Nagoya looked wonderful.
We stayed this time with my daughter’s family, using two Rooms. When I was younger, I often stayed at the Conrad Tokyo overlooking Hamarikyu Gardens and at the Hilton Tokyo Bay. I also stayed at the Conrad in Osaka after it opened, but the Room lighting there felt too dim. At Conrad Nagoya, however, the lighting was just right—bright and very comfortable. My daughter’s family used the pool and said it was easy to swim in and felt great. The lounge food—especially during afternoon service and even more so during the evening alcohol service—offered such a wide variety that we didn’t need to use a restaurant. It was delicious and plentiful enough to satisfy my high school–aged grandchild and my 22-year-old grandsons as well. Even though I was on a diet, I ended up eating too much. In September, my husband would like to stay as well, so we will be staying again. We have already made a Reservation for dinner at the Japanese restaurant, but I wonder if the flavors will suit us as locals from Nagoya. The Japanese cuisine at Conrad Tokyo was excellent. At Conrad Nagoya, the Room was easy to use, spacious, and very relaxing. Thank you very much for your hospitality. We will visit again in September, so we appreciate your continued support.

Conrad Nagoya exceeded my expectations.
For this summer vacation, we had planned to stay with Hilton as we are Hilton members, and since Conrad Nagoya has just opened, we chose to stay there this time. Everyone at the front desk and in the lounge welcomed us with wonderful smiles, which was truly relaxing. I felt that the staff’s naturally warm hospitality reflects the excellent leadership of General Manager Mr. Kosh. The lounge food was delicious both at afternoon tea and during the evening cocktail hour. In particular, the male staff member in the evening provided smart, professional service that felt truly hotel-like. We already have another Reservation for September. My daughter would like to see our home building from the window. When we first entered our Room and turned the key to open the door, the blinds smoothly rose—an impressive touch. It was very thoughtfully done. Thank you for taking such good care of us and for allowing us to relax until check-out. We look forward to visiting again in September.

Room with a Great View
It was a Room on the 38th floor. The view was amazing and truly impressive. In particular, the views from the pool and spa were wonderful, and I was able to relax very well. Above all, all of the staff were excellent—everyone greeted me properly, which made my stay very pleasant. I would definitely like to stay again.

Unfortunately.
Even if structural improvements are not feasible, please address the lack of guidance at the entrance drop-off area and to the parking lot as a matter of urgency. The club lounge is extremely overcrowded—too many guests have access. The in-room and spa amenities feel cheap. Coordination among staff is at a seriously problematic level. Worst of all were two male staff members in black suits at the breakfast venue—surely it is inappropriate for them to sit in the guest seating area drinking coffee. Compared with other Conrad properties, I cannot recommend this hotel.
