  I saw the underground grand canyon in Miyagawa-cho!!

  Pros: 1. Pressing service for 3 or 5 items (depending on the Room category), and the finish is excellent. 2. A wide selection of complimentary soft drinks (juice, cider, etc.) in the in-Room minibar; complimentary minibar snacks as well. 3. While many Hotels have discontinued Hotel-made fresh juice, this Hotel still serves delicious Hotel-made apple and orange juice not only at breakfast but also during the early-evening guest lounge “Maiko dance & drinks time” (some days feature koto performances). 4. During the day, several small sweets and one type of fruit are placed near the elevators on the first floor—perfect for a light snack. 5. The Room design makes extensive use of shoji-inspired elements. The shoji-style closet sliding doors and wall panels use real shoji paper (which would likely tear if pressed hard), not hard plastic or similar materials. 6. Unlike many other luxury Hotels built around the same time—where banquet foyers can feel like an afterthought to meet Kyoto City requirements—this Hotel’s banquet foyer features an artwork so striking it makes you want to say, “I saw an underground grand canyon in Miyagawa-cho!” 7. The gym water dispenser offers sparkling water. There’s also complimentary sparkling water in the in-Room minibar, but if you want “sparkling water made with Miyagawa-cho water,” head to the gym. 8. I had a lunch course at All-Day Dining La Têne. It may look innovative at first glance, but it delivers wonderfully classic flavors done right. The bread was excellent, and naturally dessert was great too. 9. Thoughtful attention to safety, security, and ease of use in the Room: The lighting and bathroom-area switches are clear and easy to operate. The vanity cups are made from a non-breakable material yet look beautiful. Cushioning is wrapped around metal parts of closet hanger hooks to prevent noise. 10. The large all-weather umbrella has a double-layer construction, which was especially appreciated during Kyoto’s midsummer heat—and I found the artwork on the inside soothing as well. If I had to nitpick: The Room has motion sensors (a sign it’s very modern). When returning after going out, I sometimes found that shades had closed automatically; if this had been explained when I was shown into the Room, I would have known to be mindful of what I left by the window when stepping out.

  The Finest Hospitality and a Maiko Geisha Performance Show

  From check-in to check-out, the hospitality was exceptional throughout our stay. Every in-room amenity featured a top-tier brand, and the attention to detail was evident in every aspect. From the Frette bedding and linens to the Bertrami pajamas, everything felt wonderfully soft and comfortable. After 5:00 p.m., we were also able to enjoy a maiko performance in the living room with a glass of champagne in hand—an unforgettable way to experience Kyoto culture.

  A One-of-a-Kind Stay

  I love Patina Osaka, and when I heard a Hotel in the same group had opened, I decided to stay here. I will never forget the excitement of stepping into the Hotel and feeling as if I had entered a completely different world. The staff’s hospitality was exceptional. When I mentioned it was my birthday, even the housekeeping staff who came for turndown wished me a happy birthday, which truly moved me. The minibar selection was very extensive, and I really appreciated that soft drinks and snacks were complimentary. The choices were tasteful and fun to enjoy. Room service was also excellent and very satisfying. I also used the spa; the staff were kind and highly skilled. It was an amazing stay—thank you so much.
