There is still plenty of room for improvement.

I stayed for one night from Sunday, August 23, on the plan with a private open-air bath and kaiseki cuisine. I often travel specifically to stay in Rooms with private open-air baths. My evaluation is as follows, without emotional bias. [Room & Amenities] The Room was thoroughly cleaned; amenities were standard for a Ryokan. [Hospitality & Service] I only interacted with the front desk staff at check-in/out and the staff during meals. There were many foreign staff members, and there was no unnecessary conversation. [Onsen/Bath] I did not use the large public bath, so I cannot comment. The private open-air bath in the Room was very pleasant; I used it six times and was satisfied. The view cannot be seen unless you stand up. [Facility/Equipment] The ceiling air-conditioner filter in the Room was completely clogged (white), so cooling/heating performance was poor. The shower room floor slope is inadequate, causing water to pool. [Meals] There is no main dish. Ingredients and drinks for other tables that arrive 30–45 minutes later are left uncovered out in the open; temperature control is ignored (not acceptable). They should be covered (e.g., with plastic wrap). [Overall Satisfaction] I did not feel a sense of hospitality or an attitude of wanting guests to be satisfied; there is still plenty of room for improvement, but I hope to see progress in the future.

    It was great.

We stayed for one night while visiting Oarai Aquarium. The lobby was very clean, and the Room was also spotless! Amenities included standard items such as toothbrushes, a comb, and razors. It was also nice that there was a basket bag you could use to carry a change of clothes to the bath. We chose the cheapest Plan, so it wasn’t luxurious, but we had no particular complaints. You can also order additional dishes, so it can feel more upscale if you add a few items. The bath area was clean as well, and we enjoyed using it comfortably. We’d like to stay again if we have plans nearby.

    My son planned a rel...

My son planned a relaxed, unhurried trip to visit Kasama Inari Shrine, Nakaminato Market, and buy melons in Hokota, and chose this Hotel for our stay. The Hotel itself may be older, but it has been beautifully renovated. The lobby and entrance are stylish spaces, and the view opens from the inlet out to the sea right in front of you—making a great first impression. The Room was also well designed with unnecessary items kept to a minimum. It felt clean and comfortable. Dinner was pleasantly healthy for us seniors, and we enjoyed it very much. It seemed a little light for my son’s generation, but the late-night ramen service is a nice touch (we missed it because our dinner was late). We wanted to enjoy dinner quietly and at a relaxed pace, but unfortunately it was noisy that day because we were dining alongside a large group of older guests. Breakfast was buffet-style with a good variety across different categories, and everything was tasty. Overall, it offered excellent value for money, and it’s a Hotel we would like to visit again.

    80th Birthday Celebration

We stayed here to celebrate my mother. Recently she hasn’t been feeling well in her legs, so we chose this Accommodation from Oarai because we wanted to enjoy delicious fish without traveling far. The Room with an open-air bath was clean and we were very satisfied, and my mother was truly happy. However, the meal was disappointing. When making the Reservation, it was described as “Local Blessings Kaiseki—our Hotel recommendation! Enjoy fresh sashimi and seasonal flavors,” so our expectations for good sashimi were high, but we were let down by what was served. The sashimi was just thin slices of octopus and a white fish—far from “fresh.” There was also a cold oyster dish, and the main course was sukiyaki. I should have checked more carefully myself, but a nearby group had already gotten loud from drinking, so we couldn’t talk calmly. There were hardly any staff around, and even when we went to call someone, it took a long time for them to come. We ended up finishing dinner early. Because of that, we were still hungry later on, so the half-size tantanmen available at night really helped and tasted great.

Since the property has been renovated, the Onsen, dining area, and Room were all very clean. The meals were very delicious. If possible in the future, it would be helpful if the yukata sash were elastic, especially after a good meal.

    I stayed in the most...

I stayed in the most affordable 8-tatami Room with a last-minute Reservation. The Hotel’s shared areas have been renovated and are very clean, but the Room has older tatami mats and some peeling wallpaper. That said, it was well cleaned, and the TV was a modern model that can stream YouTube and more. It was more than enough if you just need a place to sleep. Above all, the view from the Room was wonderful, and I was able to watch the sunrise. For meals, I chose the seasonal kaiseki Plan. The portion size was just right, and everything tasted excellent—especially the deep-fried soba. The lotus root dressing at breakfast was also outstanding, and I think the overall quality of the food is high. The staff’s greetings and smiles were great as well, and I would like to stay again.

It didn’t feel worth the price.

This is purely my personal impression, but since it was Golden Week, the price felt on the high side. Honestly, compared with other Hotels I’ve stayed at around this price range, I didn’t feel this Hotel offered value for money. It wasn’t that the food didn’t suit me or that the staff were unfriendly, but everything other than the Room was neither particularly good nor bad. My overall reaction was, “Is this really what you get for this price?” so I rated it three stars. The yukata options looked a bit faded and there were only three choices; the patterns also felt like classic retro designs. Even with limited variety, I would have liked something with better taste. The welcome drink was simply a typical family-restaurant-style drink dispenser machine, and there weren’t many tea options. My child wanted to use it themselves and ended up making a mess afterward. For this price point, I found that disappointing. As for dinner, perhaps because we had the last seating time, even the appetizers seemed dried out—the seaweed had stuck to the plate in a dry state. The grilled seafood was tasty; in particular, the abalone was tender and delicious. However, overall it felt plain. The portions and seasoning were average—neither good nor bad. Breakfast also had some tasty items such as grilled fish, but even considering it’s mainly Japanese-style food, it still felt plain. One positive point was that the buffet counters were set relatively high so children couldn’t easily reach them. The Room felt clean; both the bed and pillows suited me well; and there was hardly any noise from ventilation fans or neighboring Rooms, so I stayed comfortably throughout.

The Room and the open-air bath in the Room were both excellent.

It was a very comfortable Room. A vanity with double sinks. A 50-inch TV. A spacious in-room open-air bath. Thanks to that, we were able to relax very much. The food was also delicious. We were informed that tantanmen would be served at 9:00 p.m., but for us in our 60s, dinner was more than enough. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of dishes, and we ended up eating too much. The only disappointment was that we wish there had been shower caps in the large public bath as well.

    For stays in March 2026.

We stayed for one night as a family. The property had just been renovated, and the building and our Room were new and very clean. However, there were several fist-sized stains left on the lace curtains, which felt somewhat unhygienic, even though I assumed it might be unavoidable given how many families stay here. The large public bath was simple, with one indoor bath and one open-air bath. It didn’t seem to be an Onsen (?), so if you come specifically for an Onsen, you may be disappointed. The meals were very tasty—such as seafood grilled at the table (hamayaki) made with carefully selected ingredients and a hot pot featuring spring ingredients—so we were satisfied with the flavors themselves. On the other hand, it seems that all children of elementary school age or younger are served only kids’ meals; my child dislikes being treated like “the kid” in the group, so I felt sorry for them. There were few Japanese staff members and many foreign staff. That in itself is fine, but at times orders didn’t go through, incorrect items were served, or necessary items (such as cutlery) weren’t provided when needed, so I felt the service quality was not sufficient. You can see their efforts on the facilities side—such as free tantan noodles offered as a late-night snack and welcome drinks—but I felt staff training was lacking. Breakfast was a buffet with no assigned time slots, and the venue was extremely crowded. I think it would be better to allocate time slots to some extent. Also, quite a few ingredients from dinner seemed to be reused at breakfast; considering value for money it may reflect cost-saving efforts by management, but it did feel a bit disappointing. I think this works if you’re using it as Accommodation for sightseeing in the area rather than coming primarily for the stay itself.

Overall, it was a satisfying stay.

This time, we stayed in a Room with an open-air bath. The Room was spacious, and we had a very comfortable stay. As for the open-air bath in the Room, there were slats on the ceiling that seemed to be for shade, but because there were gaps, on days of heavy rain the water drips down like a shower. Perhaps it was just bad luck, but it was very windy and rainy on the day we stayed, and my head got completely soaked. Of course, since it is an open-air bath, that is to be expected; however, I wish there had been some kind of cover at least above the bathtub area. The staff’s service was pleasant and everyone was kind, but at dinner it seemed they were short-staffed—sometimes they didn’t notice even when we tried to order drinks—and among the foreign staff members there were some whose Japanese was difficult to understand. Dinner was a seasonal local kaiseki course meal, but perhaps due to the region it felt a bit plain overall.

    This Hotel is the best!

This was my first stay at your Hotel. I found it to be excellent value in every way, so I joined your Hotel group as a new member. I look forward to staying with you again.
