Wonderful Accommodation
Choosing Kutan at Ureshino Onsen was absolutely the right decision for our long-awaited trip! The lounge’s complimentary drinks were a nice touch, the Room was spacious, and the tea in the Room was delicious. Of course, the Onsen water quality was wonderful—my skin felt so smooth. The meals were unbelievably good. The chef’s sense and creativity were outstanding!! Everything was so delicious that we ended up drinking more than usual. Breakfast was also amazing—I ate too much. I definitely want to come again. We also had lovely encounters with Ureshino tea and with the tableware and teaware used in both the dining area and our Room, so we stopped by the shop on our way home to buy some pieces right away. Staying at such a wonderful Accommodation brings all kinds of wonderful discoveries, and that made it even better. One question: is the welcome cold-brewed tea the same as the tea in the Room? I’m thinking of buying it as well, so I’d appreciate it if you could let me know if possible. It was a truly great Accommodation.

Wonderful Accommodation
It was a truly wonderful stay. The meals were delicious, and the freshly cooked rice was especially outstanding. The tea shabu-shabu was also excellent. The Room had a great atmosphere, and the premium lounge was lovely as well, so we were able to relax and unwind. This is an Accommodation I would love to return to again and again.

It was a relaxing accommodation.
I have stayed many times at Kani Goten, which is part of the same group, but this was my first time here. After checking in, the welcome tea enjoyed while looking out at the garden was delicious and very relaxing. In the lobby, there were beer, tea, coffee, and other drinks available for guests at any time, so my husband—who loves alcohol—was happy to enjoy a tasty beer after bathing. Dinner was a Japanese-Western fusion, and breakfast felt like a classic Japanese set meal. The large public bath was spacious and pleasant, but it seemed quite visible from the building in front; we could see it clearly from our side as well. I felt that better screening would be helpful. The staff were all friendly and smiling, and overall we were satisfied.

Clean and newly renovated
As the Accommodation has only been open for about a year, everything—the Facility, Room, and baths—was new and spotless. We also enjoyed the meals very much. The dishes were thoughtfully prepared, but the yuba at breakfast took quite a while; since we stayed as a group of three, the third person’s serving was ready only after the others had almost finished their meal, so I felt there is some room for improvement. It would also have been nice to have a small serving of fruit or yogurt at breakfast. The welcome drinks in the lobby were excellent—we could sample many kinds of tea leaves. However, there were no sweets or snacks in the Room to go with the tea, and we wanted something sweet with such delicious tea, so we went out to look for something like Onsen manju. Luckily there was a manju shop nearby; we bought some and enjoyed them in our Room with the tea. Since there is no shop in the Hotel, we couldn’t buy small sweets or snacks either. Even having a small selection available would make the stay even more satisfying and enjoyable. That said, the service was wonderful, and because children are not allowed to stay here, we were able to relax in a calm atmosphere. I think it’s a lovely Accommodation for adults.

It was a comfortable Accommodation.
We stayed here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Overall, it’s a quiet and comfortable Accommodation. The atmosphere is simple yet relaxing, and we really enjoyed the hot springs. There is an open-air bath and a sauna; while not very large, it never felt crowded. Towels and water were available near the sauna and in the changing area, which was very convenient. Dinner and breakfast were satisfying even for a man. Everything was delicious, and the Western-style dishes were well-seasoned. The staff were considerate, so we had a pleasant stay. We especially enjoyed comparing different green teas in the lounge while looking out at the garden—perfect for tea lovers like us. What was disappointing was that at both dinner and breakfast, some items were forgotten during service, and nothing was said about it. At dinner (during the hot pot), serving chopsticks didn’t arrive. While we were saying, “So they don’t provide serving chopsticks here…,” they were quietly placed on our table along with a skimmer right as we were finishing. At breakfast, we were told that staff would take the first sheet of yuba for us, but no one came. After noticing something seemed off compared to other tables, I asked a nearby staff member: “It’s been almost 30 minutes since we were told you would serve it…” They then showed us how to do it by taking one sheet. However, perhaps because too much time had passed, the yuba had become tough—almost like plastic wrap. Then we were told to take it every 5–10 minutes from then on. Since we were nearly finished eating by that point, I couldn’t help saying “Huh?”—and they just laughed it off. Because the utensil for scooping yuba and plates were placed on another table, when I went to get them for the second sheet myself, a male staff member brought them over with an apology. Anyone can make mistakes sometimes, but I feel that even just one brief apology—like this male staff member offered—would have left a better impression. There were many kind and attentive staff members as well, so it felt like such a shame. Overall though, it was quiet and relaxing. Thank you very much.

A Trip for Two Couples
I’d been wanting to stay here for a long time. I was able to make a Reservation right when my summer vacation started, so I finally went. Having access to both the lounge and the premium lounge was a great bonus. The staff were wonderful, and I rarely ran into other guests, so it was quiet and truly relaxing. The Room had a semi-open-air bath, and I could soak in the Onsen as much as I wanted at any time—my skin felt so smooth. The quality of Ureshino Onsen really is exceptional! Both dinner and breakfast were delicious from start to finish. Are the tableware Arita ware? It was beautiful and added to the experience. Most of all, I was surprised by how good the tea was. It seems there are Rooms with a sauna as well, so if you love hot springs, please consider staying here—you’ll be very satisfied. They also checked in advance about allergies and any ingredients I can’t eat, which I truly appreciated. This time my Room didn’t have a sauna, but it was more than spacious enough for two people. I’d love to stay again if I have the chance. Next time, definitely a Room with a sauna! This is an Accommodation I can confidently recommend.

I thoroughly enjoyed the sauna.
It was a very quiet atmosphere, and we were able to relax. The towel swans decorated on the bed for our wedding anniversary trip were wonderful. The Hotel staff were also very pleasant. The bath water was silky-smooth, and once I entered the sauna and sat on the chair, I lost track of time—before I knew it, I had spent nearly two hours repeating the cycle of bath, sauna, cold bath, and sitting on the chair. However, I was concerned that the water in the cold bath was not circulating. It would have been nice if the amenities in the large public bath had been Sekkisei like those in the Room. Dinner was a Saga beef tasting comparison, but the matcha in the matcha hot pot was too strong and overpowered the flavor of the meat. That was disappointing. Breakfast was delicious—the salmon was thick and flavorful. It was also great to try scooping yuba (tofu skin). The beer after bathing in the Premium Lounge was delicious as well. We were completely satisfied with KOTAN Ureshino. Thank you very much.

We were able to relax and take it easy!
Everything felt just right. The quiet setting and relaxing atmosphere suited me perfectly. The Onsen left my skin silky-smooth and felt wonderful. The Room wasn’t overly large, and the subtle display of art made it very comfortable. The highlight was the 100-inch TV (I hardly ever watch TV, but the Brazil match that night was incredibly immersive!). Dinner was well seasoned, and I was impressed by the thoughtful presentation that made each dish enjoyable. Both the lobby lounge and the premium lounge offered delicious drinks and a calm atmosphere, which we really appreciated. My wife, who came with me, was also very satisfied and said she’d definitely come back.

A Ureshino getaway wrapped in tranquility and delicious cuisine
Every kaiseki dish was outstanding, and the courses featuring tofu and Ureshino tea left a lasting impression. In particular, the squid sashimi enjoyed with sesame oil and the matcha hot pot were so astonishingly delicious that I was truly speechless. The property is quiet and serene throughout, and the premium lounge and beautifully curated art pieces create an extraordinary atmosphere—almost like staying in a museum. The staff’s hospitality was also attentive and thoughtful, making my first trip to Ureshino an unforgettable experience. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I visited to relax with my daughter. The hot spring water was silky as always and great for the skin, and the artworks throughout the property were wonderful, creating a calm atmosphere. The Room was spacious and very comfortable. The meals were thoughtfully prepared and delicious. I would like to visit again.

We stayed here to celebrate my mother’s birthday. The staff’s service, the Onsen, the food, and the Room were all first-class. If we have the chance to visit again, we would love to stay here again. It was a wonderful day. Thank you very much.

Refresh your body and mind
I’d been looking forward to Katan, and after checking in while enjoying Ureshino tea in the lobby overlooking the garden, I went straight to the Onsen. Ureshino’s Onsen truly lives up to its reputation as a “beauty bath”—the water is silky-smooth and incredibly soothing. After the Onsen, I spent a relaxing time in the lounge with a drink. What surprised me was that we were allowed to take drinks back to our Room, so I unwound on the large daybed and sofa until dinner. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, with every dish carefully prepared. Above all, the timing of each course was perfect, and I was impressed by how attentive the staff were. Right up until checkout time, I enjoyed the footbath and Onsen one last time, feeling refreshed in both body and mind before heading home.

It was excellent.
We stayed in Sauna Suite Room 108. The Room had a silky Onsen with free-flowing hot spring water, a sauna, and even a cold plunge bath, all kept at the perfect temperature 24 hours a day—absolutely wonderful. The meals and service were excellent, and the Premium Lounge offered a wide variety of drinks, which we enjoyed plenty of.

A wonderful Ryokan.
Overall, we were very satisfied, and we think it could be even better with a bit more refinement. The dishes were unique and featured Ureshino tea. However, because tea was used in so many courses, the novelty wore off and it started to feel a bit heavy. Also, if the serving timing could be adjusted while watching how quickly the two of us were eating, it would improve the experience further. In addition, there is only an exposed outdoor smoking area, so it may not be ideal for smokers.

A Blissful Moment
A welcome tea featuring the finest Ureshino tea. The lounge was a quiet space, and from the moment we arrived, we almost lost track of time. The staff provided flawless, courteous service. Their subtle thoughtfulness was truly appreciated. The cuisine was tasteful, blending Japanese dishes with Western elements. The ingredients were used with great care and consideration, reflecting the chef’s dedication. The crab and abalone cream croquettes and the breakfast eel omelet were exceptionally delicious. They are dishes I would definitely love to enjoy again on my next visit. From the lounge drinks to the tea in our Room, we felt a consistently high level of quality in every detail. Asking a staff member about the name of the cherry blossoms and being able to stroll along the riverside as petals fell became a wonderful memory as well. Thank you very much for everything. A truly wonderful Accommodation—we will be back again.

Kyushu 100 Famous Castles Tour
As a stopover between Saga Castle and the Yoshinogari Ruins, we were looking for a 4-person Room for a girls’ trip, and choosing this place was absolutely the right decision—thanks to the all-inclusive plan and the fact that it had only been open for three months. We were amazed by how delicious the cold Ureshino tea served as a welcome drink was; when we tried to buy it online it was sold out, so thank you for offering such a rare tea. The Onsen water felt smooth and gentle, but since I prefer lukewarm baths, it was a little too hot for me—unfortunately. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared with delightful surprises, and we were truly moved by the dessert plate served as a surprise. Everything was delicious and we were completely satisfied. The courteous service and the staff’s wonderful smiles made us feel truly cared for, and we could really sense their high level of hospitality. It was a lovely Accommodation filled with touches women will appreciate, including tasteful yukata and pajamas with embroidered details. This is an Accommodation I would definitely like to visit again—and highly recommend.

A Stylish Hidden Retreat
As the Accommodation has only recently been renovated, the Room is clean and comfortable. The Hotel entrance feels like a hidden door, adding a playful touch and creating a wonderful “private hideaway” atmosphere. The lounge is also very stylish and cozy, and I was able to relax and enjoy drinks at my leisure. There is no one stationed at the front desk, but staff are always waiting in the back and come right away when you call out. The bath was wonderfully soothing—just as you’d expect from an Onsen—and I felt like I could stay in forever. Breakfast seating is spaced appropriately, so even solo guests can enjoy it without feeling self-conscious. I think this Accommodation is perfect when you want to relax quietly and enjoy your privacy.

Short Trip
A bit pricey, but this is a Hotel with a great atmosphere, featuring a renovated, chic exterior and interior. The bathroom is not very large, but the Onsen water quality was excellent, and I enjoyed unlimited beer and coffee. The service was good and I was satisfied with the breakfast selection, though personally the grilled fish (salmon) portion was too large (I couldn’t finish it). (Meals: breakfast only)

Thank you for your support.
Hearing that a beautifully renovated Accommodation had opened after taking over “Yuyado Seiryu,” formerly operated by Taishoya, I finally had the chance to stay. The entrance and lobby lounge were wonderful, and after enjoying a delicious green tea welcome drink, I felt like lingering so much that I almost hesitated to head to my Room. Thankfully, drinks including alcohol are freely available in the lobby lounge, so I stopped by every time on my way from my Room to the large public bath and relaxed while looking out at the garden. There is also a lounge exclusively for suite guests, and I promised myself that one day I would unwind there as well. The meals were all delicious and beautifully presented—clearly reflecting the chef’s dedication through generous use of local soybeans and tea. It was pure bliss. And I was amazed by the size of the salmon at breakfast. It was my first time having such a large cut of salmon, but it was so fluffy that I finished it easily. At every moment, all staff members were warm and pleasant, allowing me to feel at ease throughout my stay. I would love to return again. Thank you very much.

This Accommodation is satisfying in every way.
From the pickup at Ureshino Station, to the welcome service with carefully brewed tea, to being shown to our Room, everything was flawless and smooth. Many of the staff are young, but they treated us with outstanding hospitality. The Platinum Suite is spacious and airy, with excellent amenities. As this is a famous tea-producing area, several kinds of Japanese tea are also provided. There were also many types of alcohol served in the lounge that I wanted to try; even though I’m not a strong drinker, I could sample them little by little and was very satisfied. In addition to the signature yudofu (simmered tofu), tofu is creatively incorporated throughout the meal. Rather than relying on luxury ingredients or sheer volume, many dishes were full of ideas, making dinner both fun and truly delicious. The open-air bath in the Room feels wonderfully open, but I thought it would be even better if there were handrails so elderly guests could bathe more safely. Although it is located within the Ureshino Onsen town area, it remains surprisingly quiet, and we could relax at ease in both our Room and the lobby while enjoying complimentary drinks. We splurged for our 30th wedding anniversary, and choosing this Accommodation was absolutely the right decision. Thank you very much.

Everything was clean...
Everything was clean, and the staff were very attentive. The selection in the private lounge was great, and the fireplace was very relaxing. The in-Room sauna was excellent. The in-Room Onsen itself was great, but to access the terrace you have to pass through the bath area, which requires some physical ability. It may be difficult for elderly guests and could pose a risk of injury, so caution is needed. The Room entrance has an automatic door that takes time to close, so the Room is fully visible from the hallway until it shuts. I also worried whether we would be able to get out during a power outage. The Onsen & sauna area in the Room also has an automatic door, and I had the same concern. Overall, it’s a smart and distinctive Facility, but I felt there were some aspects that were slightly inconvenient to use. That said, overall I rate it highly. The meals were also very delicious. Thank you very much.

No hospitality.
Upon arrival, the table where we were served our welcome drink of Ureshino tea had coffee stains, presumably from a previous guest. When we asked for it to be cleaned, the response was "We'll clean it later," which was disappointing. Tables should be cleaned before new guests arrive. The bedroom in our Room faced a main road, and the frequent sound of passing cars made it difficult to sleep. It was so noisy that my husband ended up sleeping on the sofa on the garden side. The balcony could only be accessed by walking through the edge of the bathroom. Since the bathwater is not free-flowing, staff had to adjust the temperature manually by walking barefoot along the bathtub's edge to reach a machine on the balcony. This made us very uncomfortable as they walked barefoot on an area where we were about to bathe. There were other issues as well, which I have noted in detail in your Room survey form.

Enjoy your first visit to Ureshino Onsen, a place that delights both women and men.
I had a personal trip to Nagasaki Airport and was looking for an Onsen nearby when I discovered the famous Ureshino Onsen. The brochure described it as an Onsen that women would love, but I found it to be equally enjoyable for men with its excellent hot springs. Since my flight from Itami Airport was early in the morning, this was a solo trip. Accommodations at Ureshino Onsen were hard to find, but I luckily came across an Accommodation that belongs to a well-known Ryokan group in Saga. The Facility and hospitality were outstanding, and the Accommodation had just recently opened. After visiting Arita Town from Nagasaki Airport despite bad weather, I headed early to Ureshino. Although I arrived earlier than check-in time, they warmly welcomed me and allowed me to park my rental car without any issues. The Ryokan's design is stylish overall; however, some indirect lighting controls were slightly inconvenient—perhaps due to my age! I enjoyed both the private bath in my Room and the large public bath; the hot spring water was truly exceptional. Next time, I'd like to bring my family along so they can also experience this wonderful place that women (and men) will surely enjoy!

Recommended for those who want to relax and unwind.
We visited this newly opened accommodation in November during our long-awaited trip to Ureshino. In conclusion, it was a very satisfying stay, and the new opening lived up to all expectations with its wonderful facilities. The lobby offered free drinks, allowing us to enjoy tea not only from Saga but also from various parts of Kyushu. We spent a relaxing time admiring the beautifully maintained garden. The onsen was as expected of Ureshino Onsen—silky smooth water that felt amazing. My companion was delighted, saying their skin felt much better afterward. Meals were plentiful for both dinner and breakfast! For those who want to fully enjoy the experience, we recommend having a light lunch beforehand. The most memorable dish was the appetizer platter at dinner. It was visually stunning, and the freshly fried Toji-age was incredibly delicious. Next time, we plan to stay in a suite room with an onsen and sauna—we’re already making plans (laughs). We look forward to visiting again soon. Thank you very much!

Highly satisfied.
The accommodation, newly opened this year, is exceptionally clean with a calm atmosphere, beautifully maintained gardens, and art displayed throughout the facility, creating an extraordinary space. Surrounded by tall trees that make it hard to believe you're in the city center, it feels almost like being in a forest. We enjoyed the carefully selected Ureshino tea offered at check-in and the free selection of teas from Kyushu as well as alcoholic beverages available in the lounge. Dinner featured dishes made with tofu and soybeans, all exquisitely crafted and beautifully presented—redefining our perception of tofu cuisine. (The recommended "Shiraae" was particularly impressive and delicious.) The wide variety of alcoholic beverages was also a delightful highlight. Breakfast was luxurious with generous portions; especially notable were the large fluffy salmon fillets and local egg-topped rice bowls that were absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed fresh yuba (tofu skin), which added a touch of Ureshino's charm to our meal. The public bath featured silky-smooth Ureshino Onsen water that left our skin feeling soft and smooth. The sauna had a refreshing scent of new wood—a treat for sauna enthusiasts! From facilities to cuisine to onsen, everything was perfect—but above all else, we were deeply impressed by the staff's thoughtful hospitality and attentive service. As expected from an establishment operated by Kani Goten or Kaze no Mori, their staff training is impeccable. Thank you for preparing a birthday plate—it became such a memorable occasion for us! This has become one of the accommodations we definitely want to visit again—we look forward to seeing everyone again soon!
